Broke to Abundance: Rewriting an Inherited Money Story

Amanda Tooke

From Amanda Tooke

Watch · 7

Amanda Tooke, the spiritual teacher and NLP practitioner behind The Angel Mystic Podcast, has built a long-running argument on a simple claim: most of the money struggle an adult carries was installed long before that adult could question it. In a replayed episode originally released as episode 106, she tells the story of how she went from a childhood of lavish comfort to years of living on an overdraft, and what she did to loosen the grip of the beliefs underneath. The episode is not a budgeting lesson. It is a case study in how a money story gets written, how it plays out in real life, and how it can be rewritten if you are willing to examine it honestly. What follows draws on that episode and its published description, which frames the talk around questioning inherited beliefs, understanding money as a flow rather than a pile, and separating spending from fear from spending from trust.

What does a traffic jam in Windermere have to do with money?

The turning point Tooke describes is almost cinematic in its ordinariness. She was working at social services at the time, driving from Windermere to Bowness, and stuck in a traffic jam. Beside the road was a bed and breakfast with a for-sale sign on it. She remembers thinking it would suit her and her children: she could be a stay-at-home mum again, the family could earn more, and the arrangement would finally work.

She sold everything she owned of value and bought the small B&B. For a few years, by her account, it did work. It gave the family a lovely lifestyle. Then her health was compromised, she could no longer run the business, and the B&B life ended. The lesson she draws is not that the B&B was a mistake in itself. It is that a decision made from the same old story will tend to produce the same old results, even when the surface details change.

Where do our money beliefs actually begin?

Tooke is blunt that money beliefs do not start in adulthood. "Our beliefs around money all started way before you became an adult," she says in the episode. "They started in our childhood." Her own childhood was, by most measures, comfortable. Her father was very successful in business, and the family lived well: a big house, a swimming pool, a Rolls-Royce with a chauffeur, a private jet, and amazing holidays.

The comfort came with a cost she felt at school. She was picked on and bullied for being richer than most, and what she wanted, like most children, was to be the same as her peers. From that experience she formed a conclusion that she carried quietly for decades:

"I somewhat in my mind created a belief that money would never make me happy." (Amanda Tooke, The Angel Mystic Podcast, 5:40)

What makes this story useful is the way the belief operated. As a child, Tooke's wish was to live in a council house with a modest car on the drive, to be just getting by, and so to be the same as everyone else. As an adult, she got exactly that. She married a man from a very different background, a builder and roofer, and the family lived with an old Mondeo and a permanent shortage of cash. The childhood dream had been achieved, and it was, in her words, a tick-tick-tick of an achieved dream and a broke-broke-broke of a life. She notes that she manifested it, and that by then she no longer wanted it. The belief had already done its work.

This is the central mechanism of the talk. A belief formed to protect a child from pain does not announce itself as a belief. It simply starts to feel like the shape of reality, and an adult can unconsciously build a life that honours it.

Is this about blaming our parents?

Tooke is careful here, and the care matters. She is not telling a story about bad parents. "This is not because our parents were doing a bad job," she says. "Not at all. This is because our parents were doing the best they had within them at that given time." Her point is that good parents still pass along money stories, because they are working from their own inherited material. She applies the same generosity to herself: "there's no point any fingers of blame here."

That distinction is practical. If the goal is to see a belief clearly, blame keeps the belief locked in place, because it turns the story into a verdict about someone else. Examining a belief as an inherited tool, one that once made sense, makes it possible to set it down.

What happens when you keep living on an overdraft?

The adult phase Tooke describes is not romantic. She talks about permanently living on an overdraft, constantly going over it, and running up credit card bills because there was not enough money to put food on the table. The cycle fed itself: bills were paid by borrowing, borrowing led to remortgaging, and the sense of being trapped deepened. In the episode she calls it "a vicious cycle," and she is honest that this was the period when she had to face what broke actually meant for her.

The honesty is part of the lesson. Tooke frames the story not as a brag or a sob story but as a truthful account of how a belief can produce concrete, painful circumstances.

Why does everyone's time have a price?

When her health forced her to stop running the B&B, Tooke turned to her spiritual work, and she ran into another money belief: that you should not charge for spiritual gifts. She says this belief is common in spiritual communities, and that she had to re-educate herself to let it go. Her current position is firm:

"Everyone's time has a price." (Amanda Tooke, The Angel Mystic Podcast, 9:21)

She also warns against comparing prices. When she helps other people build spiritual businesses, she says, they do not do price comparison, because doing so means basing your business on someone else's beliefs. Here the money story and the work become one: what you charge is a direct expression of what you believe you are worth.

Is money a flow or a pile?

The episode description identifies several concepts Tooke develops beyond the portion of the transcript available for this article. Each one reframes a common habit of thought about money.

  • Money as flow rather than pile. The scarcity view imagines money as a stockpile to be guarded. Tooke's framing treats it as something that moves through a life, which changes what counts as security.
  • Spending from fear versus spending from trust. The same purchase can come from a place of contraction or of confidence. The description singles this out as a distinction worth noticing in your own payments.
  • The ripple effect of every payment. Each transaction touches other people. Tooke invites listeners to see their spending as part of a wider exchange rather than a private event.
  • Wanting just enough. She addresses the belief that you should only want a modest amount, a belief that quietly limits what you allow yourself to receive.
  • Where money really comes from. She shares her own view on this, along with her use of feng shui and an abundance corner at home, both presented as ways of keeping intention visible in daily space.

How do you start questioning your own money beliefs?

The practical core of the episode is deliberately simple. Tooke's instruction, as it appears in the segment on questioning beliefs, is to "question those beliefs, write them down," and then ask whether they are really yours. This is a useful exercise because most money beliefs arrive as absolute statements ("money doesn't grow on trees," "money is the root of all evil") that never get examined. Put them on paper and they become specific, testable, and often traceable to a particular childhood moment.

A workable way to begin, drawn from the episode's logic:

  • Write down the money sentences you heard growing up, including the ones you repeat without thinking.
  • For each one, note who said it and what was happening at the time, without assigning blame.
  • Ask whether this belief helped you once, and whether it still serves you now.
  • Notice where the belief shows up in your current bank balance, your work, or what you charge.
  • Decide whether the belief is truly yours, and if not, what you would rather choose.

Tooke's own arc suggests the exercise is not a one-time event. She describes re-educating herself over time, and her willingness to revisit a belief she had once held firmly.

Where to go from here

If this article resonates, the most direct next step is the full episode, which Tooke brought back because listeners keep telling her they feel stuck around what they can afford. The replay also carries a personal note: she recorded it while her voice was recovering from a cough and asthma flare, and she chose to share it because it still held value. The episode is worth hearing in her own voice, especially the parts about the B&B, the Mondeo, and the pricing belief, which are not fully captured in a summary.

For listeners who want to go further, Tooke promotes Abundance Portal 21, a 21-day programme she describes as a way to work through problems with abundance "so you can turn your abundance magnets on." Registration details are linked from the episode's show notes and the programme page at hi.theangelmystic.co.uk/ap21. Whatever route you take, start with the simplest question in her method: which money belief are you living out that you never actually chose?

[1:02] free, amazing resources. Now, let's

[1:06] delve in.

[1:13] This week's episode, what do they say,

[1:15] is an oldie but a goodie. It's actually

[1:18] a replay of one of the most popular

[1:21] episodes, which is talking about how I

[1:24] went from broke to abundance.

[1:27] It really feels it's the right time to

[1:29] share this again because I'm hearing a

[1:31] lot of conversations about how people

[1:34] are feeling stuck in terms of what they

[1:37] can afford. So, I hope you enjoy

[1:39] listening to it. I wouldn't be telling

[1:42] my truth if I didn't say the reason I'm

[1:44] repurposing one is because my voice is

[1:47] really weak and wobbly. I'm in the

[1:49] middle of

[1:51] um doing my woo free training, and if

[1:54] you've been part of that, which I hope

[1:55] you have, you will know that uh, I've

[1:58] had a cough, cold, and my asthma was

[2:00] triggered. So, I've got a very wobbly

[2:02] voice, and I'm needing to

[2:05] record and get ahead because I'm going

[2:07] away running my retreat. So, I hope you

[2:11] enjoy this episode again, and also

[2:14] encourage you to go over into show notes

[2:17] and pre-register for something really

[2:19] exciting that is happening really soon.

[2:23] Um, it's called Abundance Portal 21,

[2:27] and I'm going to be helping you for 21

[2:29] days

[2:30] work through your problems with

[2:33] abundance so you can turn your abundance

[2:35] magnets on. So, you can pre-register

[2:38] now, and then as soon as the information

[2:40] becomes available, you will get an

[2:42] email, and you'll be able to sign up for

[2:44] it. So, that said, enjoy this episode.

[2:48] See you soon.

[2:52] Hello, and welcome back to the podcast.

[2:55] Now, this podcast is very much off the

[2:58] cuff, um,

[3:00] and I am just going to talk about

[3:02] something that a lot of people do ask me

[3:05] about, and I thought, "Well, do you know

[3:06] what? It's probably time I did a podcast

[3:08] on this." I share it in in lots of my

[3:10] trainings.

[3:11] Um, and if you've read some of my books,

[3:14] you might have already know bits of

[3:15] this. Pretty sure you won't know all of

[3:17] it, though.

[3:18] Well, this podcast is from broke to

[3:21] abundance, and talking about how I

[3:24] turned my money story around.

[3:28] And also the recent revelations I've had

[3:32] about

[3:33] money and savings and bank accounts. So,

[3:39] let's delve in as I share

[3:43] >> [gasps]

[3:43] >> from scarcity to overflow.

[3:48] And

[3:50] I'm going to first of all, stop, I

[3:52] putting

[3:56] putting some of this into perspective

[3:58] for you. So, I often use the

[4:02] the little phrase, [clears throat]

[4:04] I've gone from um

[4:06] broke to abundance. But, I really want

[4:08] to be honest with you cuz actually what

[4:10] that meant for me.

[4:12] Because being broke is no joke, is it?

[4:15] It's not a it's not a good place to be

[4:17] in at all.

[4:19] And I perhaps have got a little bit of a

[4:22] different upbringing than the most. I

[4:24] know not from everyone, but from the

[4:26] majority.

[4:27] Because our beliefs around money all

[4:30] started way before you became an adult.

[4:34] They started in our childhood.

[4:36] And for me, when I was growing up, I was

[4:38] very lucky in the sense that

[4:41] my dad was very successful with

[4:43] business.

[4:45] Um we had a very nice lifestyle on the

[4:46] back of that. And by life night Oh, I

[4:49] can't speak. By

[4:51] nice lifestyle, even.

[4:54] Um it was quite lavish. So, we had a

[4:57] lovely big house.

[4:59] Um we had a swimming pool. My dad had a

[5:02] Rolls-Royce with a chauffeur.

[5:04] We had a private jet. Um

[5:08] We had amazing holidays. I'm sure you

[5:11] get the picture.

[5:13] But, for me, as a child,

[5:17] whilst it was lovely to have those

[5:18] experiences,

[5:20] when I went to school and I was picked

[5:22] on and bullied because of being richer

[5:25] than most, because

[5:28] you know, all you want to be is like

[5:29] your peers,

[5:31] that was really hard for me.

[5:34] And I somewhat in my mind um created a

[5:37] belief that money would never make me

[5:40] happy.

[5:42] So, as an adult, that's exactly what

[5:45] played out.

[5:46] And I just wanted to be the same as

[5:48] everyone else and live in a

[5:51] you know, council house and have a

[5:54] crappy car on the drive and just be

[5:57] getting by because then I'd be the same

[5:59] as everyone else.

[6:01] That's what I wanted as a child.

[6:05] And I actually manifested it as an

[6:07] adult.

[6:09] By which point I didn't want that

[6:11] anymore.

[6:12] But the belief was already created.

[6:16] So I'm sharing this not, you know,

[6:20] to sort of brag. Not that I think

[6:22] there's anything wrong with bragging. I

[6:24] actually think we should all brag. I

[6:27] think it's a

[6:28] we're put upon as British that we

[6:30] shouldn't brag.

[6:31] But this is the truth. This is the truth

[6:33] of my childhood

[6:35] and the money beliefs that we created.

[6:37] There was a lot more created, but I

[6:39] particularly want to talk about this

[6:41] specific one, that money wouldn't make

[6:43] me happy.

[6:45] You'll have heard things like money

[6:47] didn't grow on trees, money's the root

[6:49] of all evil, all of that sort of stuff.

[6:51] We all go through this. And this is not

[6:54] because our parents were doing a bad

[6:56] job.

[6:58] Not at all. This is because

[7:02] our parents were doing the best they had

[7:04] within them at that given time. And just

[7:07] as we do as parents, we're doing the

[7:10] best we can with what we have within us.

[7:12] So there's no point any fingers of blame

[7:15] here.

[7:16] But for me,

[7:18] when I got married and I married, you

[7:22] know, somebody that was

[7:25] not from the same sort of lifestyle,

[7:28] we were always broke. He was, you know,

[7:31] a builder and roofer and we had an old

[7:33] Mondeo and it was just I

[7:37] the childhood dream had been achieved.

[7:39] It was tick, tick, tick.

[7:42] It was also broke, broke, broke.

[7:45] So, for me, after going through my

[7:47] divorce and then becoming even more

[7:50] broke,

[7:51] um permanently

[7:54] living on an overdraft, always going

[7:56] over my over, as I used to call it, or

[7:58] running up credit card bills because I

[8:01] didn't have enough, you know, money to

[8:03] put food on the table,

[8:04] and that would end up being then having

[8:06] to be remortgaged, and it was just a

[8:08] vicious cycle.

[8:10] And there was a very pivotal day when I

[8:12] was

[8:13] I was actually working at social

[8:15] services at the time,

[8:17] and I was driving from Windermere to

[8:19] Bowness, and I was stuck in a traffic

[8:20] jam.

[8:21] And there was this bed and breakfast

[8:23] with a for sale sign on it. And I

[8:25] thought, you know what? That would be a

[8:26] great lifestyle for me and the kids. I

[8:28] could be a stay-at-home mom again, and

[8:31] we could earn more money, and it would

[8:33] just really work.

[8:35] Long story short, I sold everything I

[8:37] had of value and bought a small B&B.

[8:40] And that's what we did for a few years.

[8:43] And it was great. It really was great.

[8:46] It gave us a lovely lifestyle. It

[8:48] worked. Until life gave me another

[8:51] curveball.

[8:52] Oh, I've got spirit coming in now.

[8:54] Another curveball, and um

[8:57] my health was compromised.

[9:01] And and that is a whole podcast for

[9:03] another day, but long story short, I

[9:05] could no longer run my B&B, and I had to

[9:08] do my spiritual work. Attached with that

[9:11] spiritual work was the belief that you

[9:13] shouldn't charge for spiritual gifts

[9:17] because, you know,

[9:19] there's a lot of that in the spiritual

[9:21] community. I personally have worked hard

[9:23] on the fact that I now believe that, and

[9:26] I didn't believe it at first, I've had

[9:27] to re-educate myself,

[9:30] that um everyone's time has a price.

[9:34] And when I'm helping other people build

[9:36] their spiritual businesses, we certainly

[9:38] don't do price comparison because if

[9:41] you're doing price comparison, you are

[9:44] basing your business on someone else's

[9:47] beliefs. But again, that's probably

[9:49] another podcast for another day. But I'm

[9:51] just trying to give you a perspective of

[9:52] where I was at.

[9:55] But I can remember one specific day. I

[9:57] had a vision board and back then when I

[9:59] used to create my vision boards, I

[10:01] always used to put them real money on my

[10:03] vision boards and I used to put a

[10:05] 50-pound note on my vision board.

[10:08] That 50-pound note that was on my vision

[10:10] board when I created it was never meant

[10:13] to be taken off. It was there to attract

[10:16] more money. But I hadn't done the other

[10:19] work that had gone with creating a

[10:20] vision board, which is looking at your

[10:22] beliefs.

[10:24] And it got to one particular day where

[10:26] I'd been in that situation of pinching

[10:29] from Peter to pay Paul. I've been doing

[10:31] that all the way through for years and

[10:33] years and years, just getting by, just

[10:36] making do because that's another belief

[10:38] I hear people say is I just want just

[10:41] enough. Don't want to be greedy. I just

[10:43] want just enough.

[10:45] Well, do you know what? It's okay to be

[10:47] greedy because this is an abundant

[10:49] universe we're in.

[10:51] And money doesn't come from,

[10:54] you know, your bank account. Money

[10:56] doesn't come from your job. Money

[10:59] doesn't even come from your benefits.

[11:02] Money comes from the universe.

[11:04] So if you are playing shy with the

[11:07] universe and not asking for what you

[11:08] want,

[11:10] you're going to be missing out.

[11:13] So this particular day, I hadn't been

[11:16] doing the inner work like I should have

[11:17] done and I needed that 50-pound note off

[11:20] my board to pay actually for my dog

[11:23] grooming session. My dog had a haircut

[11:26] booked and I had no money to pay for it.

[11:29] And I took that 50-pound note off my

[11:32] vision board board and I swore that to

[11:35] myself that I would do the inner work

[11:37] that I had been avoiding.

[11:41] Because it's very easy to do all the

[11:43] easy stuff like always leave money in

[11:45] your purse so you can keep re-spending

[11:47] it in your mind time and time again or

[11:50] not folding your money in your purse,

[11:53] you know, giving it the respect, not

[11:54] keeping receipts in your purse,

[11:57] um having a red purse. I mean, they're

[11:59] just purse ones for example.

[12:01] They're all easy changes to make

[12:04] but they'll not make the real difference

[12:07] to your life and to the amount of money

[12:11] and flow of money that you will get.

[12:16] Because money is flow.

[12:19] You know, if you're spending money from

[12:21] a place of like, "Oh my goodness, that's

[12:22] my last £10. I'm never going to see that

[12:24] again."

[12:25] You're not.

[12:27] You're spending that from a place of

[12:29] scarcity, from a place of fear.

[12:33] But if you spend that like, "Oh, great.

[12:35] I'm paying £10 for this book and this

[12:38] book's going to one, it's going to

[12:40] educate me or this book's going to pay

[12:42] for the person that created it, it's

[12:45] going to go into their pot to help them

[12:47] pay for other things and for the

[12:49] printers that have gone into making it

[12:51] and for the people that produced the

[12:53] paper and the people that delivered the

[12:55] paper." You know, that money that you

[12:57] spend has a ripple effect into the

[13:00] universe.

[13:02] So, if you start thinking about when

[13:03] you're paying for anything,

[13:06] you know, a cup of tea, a cup of coffee,

[13:09] you know, something big, something

[13:10] little, it doesn't matter, that you are

[13:12] paying into this universal pot

[13:15] that is having a ripple effect and

[13:17] helping so many other people

[13:20] in the form of abundance.

[13:22] You start to see money differently.

[13:25] And then you don't purchase things from

[13:28] a place of scarcity

[13:30] of fears.

[13:32] You're placing it from you're purchasing

[13:34] it from a place of

[13:36] of trusting and knowing

[13:39] that more money will flow to you.

[13:42] Because it is a flow system that we have

[13:45] with money. It goes around.

[13:50] So yes, do those easy changes I just

[13:53] spoke about before, but you've also got

[13:55] to do the really deep changes. Those

[13:58] changes are within you. Those changes

[14:01] are questioning your beliefs.

[14:04] That starts by looking at your beliefs,

[14:06] those things that you heard growing up.

[14:09] How are they playing out in your life

[14:10] right now?

[14:13] Question those beliefs, write them down,

[14:15] and ask yourself, are they true?

[14:20] Or are you adopting somebody else's

[14:23] beliefs?

[14:26] Now fact is I am always working on this.

[14:29] And the people that I hang out with are

[14:31] always working on this, too.

[14:34] Because we need to.

[14:38] Now I also follow feng shui in my house,

[14:41] so I look at where the energy is

[14:43] flowing, and I have my abundance corner,

[14:45] and I keep that well lit, and I keep it

[14:47] all clear from clutter.

[14:50] And I've got all things in that area

[14:52] that always represent money and flow.

[14:57] But again, that's around beliefs.

[14:58] Everything is around beliefs.

[15:02] So question your beliefs that you have

[15:04] around money

[15:07] about finances. As soon as you think a

[15:09] different word money, finances, savings,

[15:12] you know, all of that is different to,

[15:15] you know, bills, debts.

[15:18] Think of it as,

[15:21] you know, don't have a savings account

[15:23] in like, you know, called savings

[15:26] account or rainy day account.

[15:29] Call it something my fun account.

[15:33] Because who wants a rainy day?

[15:36] I don't.

[15:39] It's all about your beliefs.

[15:42] And if you want to learn more about your

[15:43] beliefs, I'm going to put in a class on

[15:45] unlock your money mindset for more

[15:48] abundance. Where we're going to be going

[15:50] into this in more depth. It is happening

[15:52] on Monday, the 29th of September at

[15:55] 7:30. Do you come along to the class?

[15:57] You can find all the details in the show

[15:59] notes. And now, let's get some cards

[16:02] going

[16:03] for the coming week.

[16:08] Okay, here's the cards for this coming

[16:13] week. Ooh.

[16:15] Ooh, yes. I like this.

[16:20] 1 2 3 4 5

[16:22] How can counting seven cards be so hard?

[16:24] But I seem to struggle every week.

[16:27] And I can feel the angels coming in

[16:29] tickling all over my face. As well as

[16:31] we're doing this,

[16:33] we are starting the week on the friend

[16:36] card. Now,

[16:38] >> [sighs]

[16:39] >> this has to be

[16:42] the message that it seems like it's on

[16:45] repeat from the angels at the moment. I

[16:47] seem to be hearing myself say it so many

[16:49] times in so many different ways. The

[16:52] best friend you'll ever get is your

[16:54] guardian angel.

[16:56] So, build a relationship with them as

[16:58] you would with your angel. As you would

[17:01] with your friend even, not your angel.

[17:02] As you would with your friend.

[17:04] So, once you've met your guardian angel,

[17:06] your job after that is to get to know

[17:08] them. That means spending some time with

[17:10] them. That means chatting to them. That

[17:13] means listening.

[17:15] Just like you would with a new friend.

[17:17] That's your job on Monday. Build that

[17:20] relationship with your guardian angel.

[17:23] And I think that is like about setting

[17:24] some boundaries that maybe you would

[17:26] have

[17:27] a little chat with them in the morning

[17:28] and a little chat in the evening. And

[17:30] that evening chat might have some

[17:31] gratitude blended into it, too.

[17:34] But remember, the more you put into it,

[17:36] the more you're going to get out of it.

[17:39] And Tuesday is the gentle card. This

[17:41] means you need to be kind. You need to

[17:44] be gentle with yourself. Treat yourself

[17:47] like you treat other people.

[17:50] Because it is time to be kind to

[17:51] yourself. I feel like you've been

[17:53] pushing yourself a bit too hard, doing a

[17:55] little bit too much,

[17:58] and not allowing yourself to

[18:01] well,

[18:03] really do what you want to do. So, today

[18:06] is the day on Tuesday to do that. Oh,

[18:09] and it's mirrored with the Wednesday

[18:11] card of honest. I've been really honest

[18:15] with yourself about

[18:17] the things that you want, and not

[18:19] holding back.

[18:22] You've been doing it for too long. The

[18:23] angels are talking about how you have

[18:25] been putting your needs, your

[18:27] requirements to one side, and you need

[18:30] to be honest and truthful and speak from

[18:32] your heart to someone that's close to

[18:34] you because it's important.

[18:38] Thursday is the joy card. Now, this is

[18:41] your fuel for your manifesting, which is

[18:44] so important to amplify on Thursday.

[18:47] If you only have one intention on

[18:49] Thursday, let it be something fun, and

[18:51] let it be something joyful. Because it's

[18:54] really going to pay dividends towards

[18:56] the weekend, or in the weekend even.

[18:59] This is, you know,

[19:01] the more fun you have, the more joy you

[19:03] have, the higher vibration you are, the

[19:05] more you're in alignment with good

[19:07] things naturally coming into your life.

[19:09] So, prioritize it on Thursday. Raphael

[19:12] comes in on Friday. I don't feel this is

[19:15] um

[19:16] he's coming in in his usual realm for

[19:18] helping people

[19:20] um with illnesses and things. So, if you

[19:22] need that help, call upon his emerald

[19:24] green light, him and the healing angels

[19:27] whenever you want. I feel like he's

[19:29] coming in on Friday

[19:31] um to help you on a journey.

[19:33] And it feels like a spiritual growth

[19:35] journey. He's very good at helping

[19:37] people on journeys. So, ask Raphael to

[19:40] join you on that journey. Saturday is

[19:43] the manifesting card, which is where the

[19:45] joy card from Thursday is now paying off

[19:48] on Saturday because you've shifted your

[19:50] vibration. So, you expect good things

[19:52] today. It's top trumps. You've got the

[19:55] best card in the deck, the manifesting

[19:58] one. So, make sure that you are really

[20:01] open to magic and miracles today because

[20:04] they can happen for you.

[20:06] Guardian angel card is the final one for

[20:08] Sunday, and that's just to feels like

[20:11] it's it's almost capping off how we

[20:13] started the week with the friend card.

[20:16] We've now got the

[20:19] guardian angel card. So, you the friend

[20:21] card was all about your guardian angel

[20:23] is the best friend you'll have ever

[20:25] have. Now, it's capping it

[20:27] with the

[20:29] confirmation of the guardian angel card

[20:31] on Sunday.

[20:33] Let me give you your signs before you

[20:35] dash off. We have got rainbows. We've

[20:39] got little white feathers. They're the

[20:40] things that you need to be looking out

[20:42] for this week. I hope you've taken lots

[20:45] from this. Join me for unlock your money

[20:47] mindset for more abundance. It's over in

[20:50] the show notes, and I will see you back

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Amanda Tooke's central argument is that money struggles often trace back to beliefs formed in childhood rather than to income alone. She describes living on an overdraft and running up credit card bills despite a working life, and attributes much of that cycle to a belief she held about money. Her suggestion is to examine those beliefs rather than assume the problem is only a lack of earnings.
According to Tooke, money beliefs start in childhood, long before we are old enough to question them. She says parents are usually doing the best they can with what they have, so the point is not to blame them but to recognise the inherited stories we carry. Her own belief that money would never make her happy came from being bullied at school for being richer than her peers.
The episode description identifies spending from fear and spending from trust as very different states, even when the purchase looks the same. Fear-based spending comes from contraction and worry, while trust-based spending comes from a settled sense that money will keep flowing. Tooke invites listeners to notice which state drives their own payments.
Tooke frames money as a flow rather than a pile, meaning it moves through a life instead of being stockpiled and guarded. The episode description presents this alongside ideas about the ripple effect of every payment and the belief that you should only want just enough. The full episode develops these points beyond what this article covers.
Tooke's practical instruction is to question your beliefs about money, write them down, and ask yourself whether they are really yours. Start by listing the money sentences you heard growing up, noting their origin without blame, and checking whether each still serves you. This turns vague absolutes into specific beliefs you can examine.
Tooke says many spiritual communities hold the belief that you should not charge for spiritual gifts, and she says she had to re-educate herself to let it go. Her current view is that everyone's time has a price. She also cautions against basing your pricing on price comparison with others, since that means building your business on someone else's beliefs.
Abundance Portal 21 is a 21-day programme Amanda Tooke promotes to help people work through their problems with abundance. She describes its goal as helping participants turn their abundance magnets on. Details are available through the link in the episode's show notes at hi.theangelmystic.co.uk/ap21.
