Rachel Rivera

Rachel Rivera is a sound and Reiki healer based in southern Maine, traveling between Freeport and Ogunquit. She holds a bachelor's degree in opera performance from the University of Southern Maine and an MFA in creative writing from Southern New Hampshire University. After graduating, she turned toward the healing aspects of the voice, and today she offers sessions with her voice, instruments and Reiki hands.

Her sound healing vocals are improvised channeling. She sings in what she calls "spirit language," also known as Light Language, as she says on her YouTube channel. With her voice and instruments she creates a surround-sound effect that may help move stuck energies, align chakras, and relax the mind and body. She grew up around the metaphysical world, as she shares on her YouTube channel, since her mother is a spiritual healer and medium.

A weekend sound healing class with Rich Goodhart in June 2019 sharpened her interest in the healing power of the voice. There she connected to the intentions of different people and let her voice flow as each person's healing needed. She has since taken many classes. She is certified in Reiki I, II, III and Reiki Master through Brenda Colfer, finishing her Reiki Master training at the beginning of 2024, and she holds a level I certificate from the Sound Healing Academy. Her studies also include craniosacral therapy and energy work, and mediumship and intuitive development classes.

Rachel teaches how to play crystal singing bowls and offers group and private sessions around Maine. She is also a certified music teacher. Her album Reflections was released in 2024.
