Preston Klik is an Evanston, Illinois musician who leads live meditative sound journeys. He plays melodica, didjeridoo, Ocean Drum, loops, crystal bowls, Native American flute, wah-tube, rattles and drums. His Shamanic Walkabout concerts are described as both grounding and transcendent, "a healing meditation for some, a psychic music-guided trance-journey for others." His wife, Emily Klik, often shares Cranio-Sacral Therapy with attendees. He also offers the "OM Gong Experience" and the "Ocean of Devotion Sound Journey," and he gives lessons.
Preston and Emily met in the garden at Unity Chicago, after the first "Eight:18 - Circus of the Spirit" celebration. They married in Unity's garden gazebo on the first Friday of August 2004 and took the name Klik together. After taking The Landmark Forum and Advanced Course, and guided by the Unity principles taught by Reverend Ed Townley, each took on a life commitment. Preston became the "Possibility of Creative Love" and Emily the "Possibility of Healing."
Together they have created community gatherings, including Synthesis, Synphoria and Eight:18. They write that they want to help people find themselves and their voices through loving self-expression. Since January 2017 they have held meditations off-site, in wellness centers, yoga studios, churches and private homes, and all their meditations are free of hard liquor and hard drugs.
Worth Knowing
Preston Klik is an Evanston-based musician and meditation facilitator who has spent years building a distinctive voice in the world of sound healing and meditative music. He's known for designing and leading immersive sound journeys—experiences that blur the line between live performance, guided meditation, and what he terms a "trance journey" for different listeners. His signature events, including "Ocean of Devotion" and the "OM Gong Experience," draw seekers across the Chicagoland area to wellness centers, yoga studios, libraries, churches, and senior communities. What draws people to his work is specificity: Preston doesn't just offer generic ambient music; he's engineered experiences that meet listeners where they are—some find healing meditation, others a full-body immersion in sound. His home studio, the Chapel of Sacred Sounds, functions as his creative laboratory, and his discography reveals an artist deeply engaged with both traditional instruments (Native American flute, didjeridoo, crystal bowls, gong) and modern sonic experimentation (loops, ocean drum, wah-tube). Beyond music, Preston and his wife Emily have created conscious community gatherings—Synthesis, Synphoria, and Eight:18—that operate as spaces of creative love and collective healing.
