The Best Place to Start: A Guided Meditation

Laylä Föz, who also goes by "Call me Layla," works across several formats: courses, guided meditations, retreats, and an app. Her bio doesn't single out one title as definitive, so I won't invent one. The best entry point is her guided meditations.

They are the lowest-commitment way to meet her. You don't need to know tarot, archetypes, or anything about her philosophy. You sit down, press play, and hear how she speaks, which is the thing everything else rests on. Her bio describes her work as sitting "between voice and silence, word and soul," and a guided meditation is where that is easiest to judge. If her voice and pacing work for you, the rest of her ecosystem will probably work too. If they don't, you've lost a few minutes.

Pick one meditation and do it twice, on different days, before judging it. The first listen is mostly orientation.

The Next Three Places to Go

1. The course on archetypes. After the meditations, this is the most useful next step. Archetypes are the framework underneath much of her tarot and self-knowledge work. Here she turns complexity into clarity, taking patterns that can feel abstract and making them usable for understanding yourself.

2. The course on feminine cyclicality. This is the other core pillar. It's about living by cycles rather than a flat, constant-output model of productivity. You don't need to be an expert in anything first, but it's best after the archetypes material, because the two ideas reinforce each other.

3. The app. It's her most recent addition, built to help people dream and then structure the path toward those dreams. It makes sense later, once you have some self-knowledge to put into it. Used earlier, it can turn into goal-setting without much grounding.

Retreats are the deepest option, held around the world, but treat them as a commitment for after you've done the rest.

What to Expect on a First Encounter

Expect reflection rather than instruction. Her bio says it directly: "More than teaching, Layla invites reflection." You'll be asked questions more often than given answers.

Expect a blend of registers. She moves between spirituality, ancestry, psychology, and philosophy, so a single session can touch several of them. The language is meant to translate "the invisible into words," which means it can be poetic, but the intent is clarity.

Expect a steady emphasis on the present. Her recurring message is that freedom and purpose live in how you choose to live now, not in a future achievement.

Common Beginner Misunderstandings

Treating it as fortune-telling. She's a tarot guide, but in this context tarot is a tool for self-knowledge, not prediction. Approach the cards as mirrors.

Expecting a quick fix. The meditations and courses reward repetition. One session won't transform anything.

Assuming the cyclicality work is only for certain people. It's framed around feminine cyclicality, but the underlying question of how you move through phases of energy and attention is worth asking whoever you are.

Reading the spirituality as an escape from practical life. The newer app shows the opposite. The work pairs the sacred with structure and concrete steps.

Skipping the silence. The pauses in the meditations are part of the work, not gaps to fill.

When This Work Lands Hardest

It tends to land in transitional periods, when old structures have stopped working and you haven't built new ones: after a breakup, a career change, a move, or a loss. It also fits people who feel disconnected from a sense of purpose despite outward success, since her core invitation is to reconnect with the meaning of life.

The ancestry thread tends to hit hardest for people thinking about family patterns, becoming a parent, or losing an elder. The cyclicality work suits anyone worn down by pushing at the same pace every day.

It lands less well when you want a rigid system or a set of rules. This is a practice of attention.

A One-Week Starter Plan

Day 1: Listen to one guided meditation. Afterward, write three sentences about what you noticed. Don't judge it.

Day 2: Repeat the same meditation. Compare what's different.

Day 3: Start the archetypes course. Do only the first session and note which archetype you recognize most in yourself.

Day 4: Take a rest day, then do a short meditation in the evening. Write down one question the archetype material raised.

Day 5: Continue the archetypes course, then pull a single tarot card as a mirror, not a prediction. Ask what the card shows about the question from Day 4.

Day 6: Begin the feminine cyclicality course. Track where your energy actually is today, without trying to change it.

Day 7: Review your notes from the week. Decide whether to continue with the courses, try the app, or look into a retreat. If nothing resonated, stop here. The week was a fair test.
