Alexander Grigat is a Danish psychotherapist and meditation teacher. He trained at Vedfelt Instituttet and is a member of Psykoterapeut Foreningen. His work rests on listening and presence. In his words, the aim is not to fix or arrange, but to listen in order to meet what calls, and to tend the wounds with care so that life can bloom.
His practice draws on conversation, dreams, meditation and the body, as well as depth psychology, philosophy and contemplative practice. Sessions take place online, in Copenhagen and in Hesselager on Funen.
On meditation, he describes a practice of cutting away the superfluous and moving closer to direct experience of the moment and of ourselves. It is a training in returning to a more basic human state, where our jobs, relationships, expectations, fears and hopes no longer define us. They are something we have, not something we are. He wants meditation to feel uncomplicated: follow the voice, go with it, and take one step at a time.
He hosts the podcast Den Forbudte Skole, conversations about paths to meaning. He also hosts a podcast in dialogue with C. G. Jung's The Red Book, based on the Danish translation. He makes Erindring, a series of recordings about awakening, remembering and homecoming. On Substack he writes about what almost escapes words, the soul's deep memories.
He describes himself as a father, partner, friend, brother and son, and his days hold meditation, writing, conversation and morning coffee. Love of wonder and inquiry, he says, weaves his life together, and supporting human insight and unfolding is his deepest joy.
