meditation retreatFluidity in Motion: Presence, Play, and Spontaneous Awareness
Drawing on the dharma of water, this three-day retreat examines how fluidity, impermanence, and adaptability manifest through the body and in lived experience. Deborah Eden Tull, a Zen teacher and author, leads participants through a blend of stillness and movement, contemplation and play, somatic inquiry and relational mindfulness. Rather than pursuing the mechanical, effortful approach that dominates contemporary culture, the workshop explores organic movement arising from non-effort and receptivity. Sessions investigate what water teaches about letting go, maintaining centeredness amid chaos, and meeting impermanence with creative response. The retreat celebrates the intersection of Zen practice, somatics, ecodharma, and conscious dance. No prior meditation or dance experience is required—only openness to exploring the water element within yourself and reverence for the living earth.
