[0:01] So today I had the fortune to watch my
[0:06] father conduct or not conduct but teach
[0:10] a master class to young conductors in
[0:14] Shanghai.
[0:15] And it's online so you know you can see
[0:19] my dad and then you can see the
[0:20] conductor. And he's done it for two days
[0:23] now. So he did like the first two days
[0:26] were a couple of female conductors and
[0:28] then the today it was male conductors
[0:32] and he really talks like when he teaches
[0:35] he's not just teaching technique like
[0:38] you know put your hand here and put the
[0:41] other hand here and like you know click
[0:44] with your wrist and like he says this
[0:46] technical stuff but the first thing he
[0:48] says to the students is what do you
[0:52] think this piece is about and they come
[0:55] up with some statement, you know, and
[0:57] then he says, "No, this is what it's
[0:59] really about." And he goes into the
[1:01] depth of the classical piece and what
[1:04] the composer's intention was. And he
[1:08] puts all the feeling and the emotion
[1:10] into it. And so he's encouraging them to
[1:13] go into how things feel as opposed to
[1:16] how things should look. So I wanted to
[1:20] work with that theme today that we as
[1:24] we're practicing let's go into how
[1:26] something feels as opposed to how it
[1:28] should look right. So, it's not about
[1:32] getting the pose, you know, perfectly or
[1:36] um, you know, having some technical
[1:39] approach, although those things are
[1:40] obviously important so that you're in
[1:42] the right alignment and you're not
[1:44] damaging your body in some way, but it's
[1:46] really about how it feels from the
[1:48] inside.
[1:50] Um and then we'll finish with the satyam
[1:53] meditation which is all about taking all
[1:55] our feelings and directing that energy
[1:58] back to the source of all emotions and
[2:01] all feelings which is wholeness,
[2:04] oneness, awareness. Um so we'll take a
[2:07] bit of time to do that meditation at the
[2:09] end. So to start off with let's actually
[2:13] come into um big toes together, knees
[2:16] wide. And if you like, if you feel like
[2:19] going forward like this is just, you
[2:22] know, quite radical on your inner thighs
[2:23] to start start off with and you have a
[2:26] bolster handy, place the bolster in
[2:30] front of you and just come into the
[2:33] pose.
[2:35] So, giving yourself permission to lush
[2:39] out for a little while.
[2:43] And obviously if this is too strong on
[2:45] your knees or the tops of your feet,
[2:48] then feel free to kind of hang a bit
[2:50] more like this on your bolster so that
[2:52] your bum is in the air and you're, you
[2:56] know, relaxed there. So if you don't
[2:58] want to use a bolster, if you feel like
[3:01] you just want to go for it and just go
[3:04] forward, go ahead and try that as well.
[3:07] But however you'd like to approach this.
[3:09] And we're going to hold this for a
[3:10] little while and use this time to really
[3:14] connect with our breath.
[3:19] So noticing how it feels to inhale
[3:24] and noticing how it feels to exhale.
[3:35] Noticing where you feel expansion in the
[3:39] body.
[3:42] And notice where you feel any
[3:44] contraction in the body
[3:55] and not trying to force the breath in
[3:57] any way or change the breath. Just being
[4:00] with the feeling of the breath.
[4:43] Notice how it feels to just stop.
[4:48] Not do.
[4:51] Just be. Be yourself.
[5:46] All
[5:59] right. And then just slowly coming off
[6:01] your bolster or coming out of the pose,
[6:04] coming on to the hands and knees. We're
[6:06] going to go through a really slow series
[6:09] of cat cows.
[6:11] We're going to start on the exhalation,
[6:14] rounding the lower back, just letting
[6:15] the head release. Again, tuning into the
[6:18] space behind the shoulders. Just
[6:20] noticing how that feels.
[6:23] And then tucking the toes under and
[6:24] bending the elbows slightly and opening
[6:26] through the chest.
[6:29] And then exhale, relaxing the lower
[6:31] back, letting the head go, pushing the
[6:34] floor away. And then inhaling, tucking
[6:37] the toes under, bending the elbows, and
[6:39] opening the chest.
[6:41] And again exhale rounding through the
[6:43] lower spine. Just letting your head
[6:45] release
[6:47] and inhale tucking the toes under and
[6:50] opening through the chest. And then
[6:53] let's walk the hands wide. We'll come
[6:55] into half dog.
[6:59] Feeling that stretch into the armpits.
[7:03] Really releasing the shoulders.
[7:06] Spreading the fingers. Tucking the toes
[7:08] under. You might even like to pad into
[7:10] the balls of the feet.
[7:14] Noticing how it feels to breathe in this
[7:17] position.
[7:26] And then slowly coming back onto the
[7:29] hands and knees. And we're going to move
[7:31] into a venasa with down dog and cat
[7:35] pose. So, tucking the toes under,
[7:37] lifting the sitting bones high, finding
[7:39] your way into down dog. You can have
[7:41] your knees bent or your legs straight.
[7:44] And then on your next inhalation, come
[7:46] onto your hands and knees. And as you
[7:49] exhale, come into child's pose. Inhale
[7:52] onto the hands and knees. Exhale, lift
[7:55] the sitting bones high, coming into down
[7:57] dog.
[7:59] Inhale back onto the hands and knees.
[8:01] And exhale, seat back to the heels.
[8:05] And again, inhalation onto the hands and
[8:08] knees. Exhale, lift the sitting bones
[8:10] high, coming into down dog.
[8:13] And inhaling onto the hands and knees.
[8:15] And exhale, seat back to the heels.
[8:20] Inhale onto the hands and knees, tucking
[8:23] the toes under, lifting the sitting
[8:25] bones high.
[8:27] And inhale onto the hands and knees. And
[8:30] exhale, seat back to the heels.
[8:36] And last one. Inhale onto the hands and
[8:38] knees. Tuck the toes under. Lift the
[8:40] sitting bones high. And then stay in
[8:43] down dog for a moment. And just notice
[8:46] how it feels to have even pressure in
[8:49] the left and right sides of the hands.
[8:52] Maybe you want to keep your knees bent
[8:54] here. Maybe you're feeling a little bit
[8:56] of weight in the hands. So you might
[8:57] want to lift the sitting bones a little
[8:59] bit higher. Notice how it feels to have
[9:02] the spine extended,
[9:04] chin into the chest,
[9:07] drawing the abdomen back. And then raise
[9:10] your left leg at hip height. Step your
[9:12] left foot in between your hands. Drop
[9:14] onto your right knee. And just stay here
[9:16] for a moment.
[9:19] Stretching into your right front groin.
[9:24] And then bring both hands to the big toe
[9:26] side of the foot. Move the left foot
[9:27] over to the left. And you're going to
[9:29] circle
[9:30] around the hip joint. Just go slow, go
[9:34] easy here. So you kind of bring the knee
[9:37] forward, excuse me, and to the side
[9:41] just to kind of rotate inside the hip
[9:43] joint. And then bring that foot back in
[9:47] between the hands. Step back into down
[9:49] dog. Raise the right leg at hip height.
[9:52] Step the right foot in between the
[9:53] hands. Drop the left knee to the floor.
[9:56] Just stay here for a moment. stretching
[9:58] into the front of the groin.
[10:01] Again, notice how your breath changes.
[10:04] How does that feel?
[10:06] And then move your feet, your right foot
[10:08] out to the right. You can turn that foot
[10:10] out slightly. And then just circling
[10:14] your
[10:16] knee around.
[10:22] So you're getting a little bit of a
[10:25] opening through the inner hip and the
[10:27] outer hip.
[10:29] And then bring the hands either side of
[10:31] the front foot. And let's step back
[10:33] again into down dog.
[10:37] Take a moment here.
[10:41] Breathe.
[10:43] All right. And then shift the weight to
[10:45] the right foot. Pick up the left foot at
[10:47] hip height. And then take that leg out
[10:49] to the side and bring it in.
[10:52] And then let's do that with the other
[10:54] leg. So lifting the right foot at hip
[10:57] height, take it out to the side. You
[10:59] might want to bend it as you bring it
[11:00] in.
[11:02] Raise the leg, left leg out to the side.
[11:06] And bend it as you bring it in. And
[11:09] raise the right leg out to the side. And
[11:12] bend it as you bring in. And then come
[11:13] on to your hands and knees.
[11:16] And take a moment in child's pose. Just
[11:19] letting your head release.
[11:22] onto your hands or you can have your
[11:24] bottom in the air if it's too strong on
[11:26] the tops of your feet or behind your
[11:28] knees.
[11:32] Take a few breaths here.
[11:46] All right. Now, if you have some blocks
[11:48] handy,
[11:50] have them
[11:52] in front of you. And we're going to
[11:54] stretch into the shoulders now. So,
[11:57] you're going to put your elbows on the
[11:58] blocks. Maybe you want to move yourself
[12:02] back a little bit. And you're going to
[12:05] place your head through the center and
[12:07] draw the thumbs to rest right at the
[12:10] base of your neck.
[12:13] So, we're stretching into the upper arm
[12:15] here.
[12:19] Again, notice how it feels to be in this
[12:23] position. Does it
[12:25] does it bring up any emotions?
[12:29] Is there tension somewhere?
[12:33] Is it easy or hard to breathe?
[12:58] All right. And then release.
[13:01] And we're going to come back into down
[13:02] dog.
[13:04] And just notice if down dog feels a
[13:07] little bit lighter now
[13:10] from that stretch in the upper arms.
[13:15] The more you can push the floor away and
[13:18] lift your sitting bones, the lighter
[13:20] you'll feel in your upper body.
[13:23] And then let's slowly walk the feet
[13:25] towards the hands. And we're going to
[13:27] hang forward in utanasana. However, if
[13:31] you know that it's too much to have your
[13:33] head that long, lower than your heart,
[13:34] just come up into ara utanasana.
[13:38] Yeah. If it's it makes you dizzy to have
[13:40] your head lower than your heart. So
[13:42] hanging forward in utanasana, just let
[13:45] your arms go.
[13:48] Engage your thigh muscles. You can bend
[13:50] your knees here, especially if you know
[13:52] you have a lot of tension in your
[13:53] hamstrings.
[13:58] Feel the belly against the thighs.
[14:18] And then slowly
[14:21] hands to the thighs, lengthen the spine
[14:23] and bring yourself upright. And just
[14:25] take a moment to stand in tadasana.
[14:30] Feet are inner hipwidth distance apart.
[14:34] Shoulders are relaxed. You want to feel
[14:36] a little bit of engagement through the
[14:38] inner thighs.
[14:41] Chin is level. You can roll the upper
[14:44] armbbones out and roll the forearms in.
[14:47] Really spread the toes. Feel the weight
[14:49] balance between the heel and the
[14:51] broadest part of your foot. So the heel
[14:54] is
[14:56] say at the base of the triangle of your
[14:57] foot and your big toe and little toe are
[15:00] balanced.
[15:05] Notice any tension in your fingers.
[15:11] Notice the tendency maybe to lean
[15:13] forwards or back.
[15:19] All right. And then gently raise the
[15:21] arms up. Vision into thumbs, palms
[15:23] touching. Soften the knees as you fold
[15:26] forward, letting your head release.
[15:28] Inhale, rise halfway.
[15:31] Plant your hands and step your body back
[15:33] into one long line
[15:36] and lower knees, upper chest to the
[15:38] floor. Move the hands back. Lift into
[15:41] baby cobra or up dog. And then roll over
[15:45] the toes coming into down dog.
[15:48] And then look to your hands and you can
[15:51] step or jump the feet forward. Inhale,
[15:54] lengthen the front of the spine. Exhale,
[15:56] fold. And inhale. As you lengthen the
[16:00] spine, raise the arms up, palms to
[16:02] touch, vision to thumbs. Bring the hands
[16:05] to the center of the heart. Stop for a
[16:07] moment.
[16:10] Take a breath. Notice how you feel.
[16:15] Find tadasana, balancing tadasana.
[16:20] And then arms down, around, and up.
[16:22] Palms to touch, vision to thumbs. And
[16:25] exhale, soften the knees and fold
[16:27] forward.
[16:29] Lengthen your spine. Plant your hands
[16:32] and step your body back. Body in one
[16:34] long line. Hold here. Then drop your
[16:38] knees or lower to the floor.
[16:42] Move the hands back. Lift into up dog.
[16:45] And then roll over the toes. Press back
[16:47] into down dog. Raise your right leg at
[16:50] hip height. Step your right foot in
[16:52] between your hands. Come into a high
[16:55] lunge.
[16:56] Bend the back knee a little bit. You can
[16:58] also bend the elbows if that feels
[17:00] better. Find your balance between your
[17:03] front foot and your back foot. So
[17:06] whether you have the arms wide and
[17:08] straight or the back leg straight or the
[17:10] back leg bent, just feel evenly
[17:13] balanced. You might even like to notice
[17:16] how this feels in the back of your body
[17:19] and the front of your body. Then lean
[17:22] your body forward slightly. Bring your
[17:24] hands to the floor. Turn your left heel
[17:26] down. Line up your right heel with your
[17:29] left heel and cartwheel up to verbadana
[17:32] 2.
[17:33] Now you can either have your arms at
[17:36] shoulder height, have your hands on your
[17:38] hips, or you might like to interlace
[17:40] your fingers behind you and open your
[17:41] chest.
[17:44] So you can just decide which variation
[17:46] you want to explore.
[17:53] And then from here just relax your
[17:55] forearm on your thigh. Turn your hip
[17:57] down a little bit. Bring the arm across
[17:59] the front of the body and come into
[18:01] parva.
[18:02] And just notice,
[18:05] where's the tension? Where's the
[18:07] lightness?
[18:09] Just take a moment. You can really
[18:11] rotate that chest open if you like.
[18:14] And then let's bring the hands either
[18:16] side of the front foot. And we're going
[18:17] to straighten the front leg. And maybe
[18:20] we want to have our blocks handy for
[18:22] this.
[18:23] as we press into the ball of the back
[18:26] foot.
[18:27] Spine long
[18:32] and then bend the front knee. Move the
[18:35] blocks forward. Come into Viradrasa
[18:38] supported verbadrasa 3. Roll that left
[18:41] thigh down.
[18:43] Engage your right thigh muscle.
[18:47] And then slowly bend that knee. Bend the
[18:50] standing leg. lower. Fold forward for a
[18:53] moment and then raise the arms. Come all
[18:56] the way up.
[18:58] And we'll do all that on the other side.
[19:02] So, we're going to raise the arms down,
[19:04] around, and up. Palms to touch. Vision
[19:06] to thumbs.
[19:08] And then exhale, bend the knees, and
[19:10] fold forward.
[19:13] Step yourself back into plank position.
[19:15] Body in one long line. Lower to the
[19:18] floor. Move the hands back. lift into up
[19:21] dog and exhale press back into down dog.
[19:25] So raising the left leg into the air and
[19:28] stepping the left foot in between the
[19:30] hands. We're going to start in that high
[19:32] lunge position.
[19:34] Arms can be wide. Elbows can be bent.
[19:36] Back leg can be bent as well.
[19:41] Just holding here. Feeling the weight
[19:43] even through both sides.
[19:48] Notice if you feel any tension anywhere.
[19:51] Just notice what's going on in your
[19:52] body. How does it feel from the inside
[19:55] out? Then lengthen forward. Hands to the
[19:58] floor. Turn your heel down
[20:01] and cartwheel up to verbasana too.
[20:07] You can roll your back hip in. Bend your
[20:10] front knee.
[20:13] Raise your arms. Look over your middle
[20:14] finger.
[20:19] You can also bring your hands behind
[20:23] and just stretch and open the chest.
[20:31] And then bring your forearm to your
[20:32] thigh. Bring your other arm
[20:35] across and open into parsva.
[20:42] Keep breathing.
[20:46] And then from here bring your hands
[20:49] either side of your front foot. Walk
[20:51] your hands forward or onto blocks. Come
[20:53] into Verbadrasana 3.
[20:58] Keep your balance here. Feel the stretch
[21:00] through the back of your hamstring.
[21:06] And then bend that back knee.
[21:08] Bend both knees. Let your head hang.
[21:13] and slowly lengthen through your spine.
[21:14] Come upright and just stop in your
[21:19] tadasana position.
[21:26] Catch your breath.
[21:34] All right. And let's step wide.
[21:38] What would a class be without pa
[21:40] danasana fan pose?
[21:43] So bringing your hands to your hips,
[21:45] open your chest, fold forward at the hip
[21:47] crease, and then let your head
[21:49] completely hang. You can keep your hands
[21:52] on your hips. Of course, if it's too
[21:54] strong to have your head lower than your
[21:57] heart, you can have your hands on blocks
[22:00] and just lengthen forwards.
[22:03] So you decide what feels good to you
[22:06] based on
[22:08] your body. Can hold on to the backs of
[22:11] the ankles.
[22:14] Chin into the chest.
[22:16] Engage your thigh muscles and tune in.
[22:19] How does this feel?
[22:33] And slowly reach your arms out in front.
[22:37] Whether you have your hands on blocks or
[22:39] on the floor, just rotate around for a
[22:42] moment. You can bend the right knee if
[22:44] you like or have that leg straight.
[22:48] And then bring the hand down and rotate
[22:52] to the other side.
[22:59] And then bring the hand down
[23:02] and slowly walk yourself back
[23:05] letting your head release to the floor.
[23:15] And let's walk ourselves around to the
[23:18] front of our mat and step back into down
[23:20] dog.
[23:24] and then come on to your hands and knees
[23:26] and step your right foot in between your
[23:29] hands. We're going to come into a twist
[23:31] now.
[23:32] So, raising your left arm up and hooking
[23:36] your upper left arm against your outer
[23:38] right thigh, bringing your palms to
[23:40] touch and just rotating around
[23:50] drawing drawing the abdomen back to the
[23:52] spine.
[23:58] And then bringing your hands either side
[24:00] of the front foot. Again, you can use
[24:02] blocks if you like. And extending that
[24:04] front leg.
[24:10] And then we'll turn ourselves all the
[24:12] way to the side. Bring this foot a
[24:15] little bit more forward. Have the toe
[24:18] turned in. Right? So, we're not going to
[24:19] be on the heel. And just take a side
[24:21] stretch.
[24:29] And then step back onto your hands and
[24:32] knees.
[24:35] And we'll bring the left forward.
[24:39] And coming up right, raising the right
[24:41] arm up and hooking the upper right arm
[24:44] against the outer left thigh. Bringing
[24:45] the palms to touch and rotating around.
[25:06] And then from here, bringing your hands
[25:08] either side onto blocks and
[25:10] straightening that
[25:14] leg, getting that stretch through the
[25:16] hamstring.
[25:31] and then turning yourself to face
[25:34] towards the side of your mat. Bringing
[25:36] your other leg to the side. Having that
[25:39] foot flat and coming into a side lean.
[25:46] Nice.
[25:56] All right. And then bring both knees to
[25:58] meet each other. And we're going to come
[26:01] into a squat now. So if you want to have
[26:05] your bum on some blocks, go ahead. You
[26:09] don't have to be
[26:12] flat if you don't want to.
[26:16] And let's just take a moment here. So,
[26:19] either we're on the blocks or we're just
[26:22] squatting.
[26:25] And then bringing your
[26:27] I'm just going to go one block lower.
[26:31] Too high for me.
[26:34] Bringing your upper arms to your inner
[26:36] thighs
[26:38] and just pressing here.
[26:44] So, this is another one. You know, where
[26:46] do you feel this stretch?
[26:48] Can you feel it in your inner thighs?
[26:51] If you're not on blocks, can do you feel
[26:53] it in the fronts of your ankles?
[26:56] And what about your breath?
[27:03] Does it stir any emotions?
[27:13] And then bring your upper arm to your
[27:16] inner shin and rotate around.
[27:28] And then bring your upper arm to your
[27:30] other inner shin and rotate.
[27:44] All right. And then from here, taking
[27:46] the block away and coming into a seated
[27:51] bakonasana.
[27:55] Just holding on to your ankles. So
[27:57] remembering that if it's more
[27:59] comfortable to have your thighs on
[28:02] blocks or to put yourself up against a
[28:04] wall or sometimes people are even if
[28:07] they're really tight in their hips, if
[28:08] you're really tight in your hips, you
[28:10] could sit up on the block and let your
[28:13] knees come open. So yeah, just choose
[28:16] what feels good. Remembering we're not
[28:18] going to ever hold the feet. We're just
[28:19] going to hold the ankles. And when you
[28:22] squeeze your buttocks, your inner thighs
[28:25] go a little bit closer to the floor.
[28:31] Just close your eyes for a moment. And
[28:33] same focus that we had in Tadasana.
[28:37] Let's just notice what we feel here.
[28:39] Maybe you can feel something in your
[28:41] kidneys.
[28:44] And you might need to round the kidneys
[28:47] for a minute and then straighten them.
[28:49] Straighten the spine.
[29:17] All right. And then from here, let's
[29:18] take the feet further forward. So, we're
[29:20] more like in a tarasana
[29:22] position, star pose. So,
[29:27] you've got your feet out quite far away
[29:30] from your groin. And maybe you've got a
[29:34] couple of blocks or your bolster. And
[29:36] you're going to relax your
[29:39] forehead
[29:42] on on your little tower
[29:53] or maybe it's more comfortable to go a
[29:55] little bit lower.
[29:57] And again, we'll just stay here for a
[29:58] little while,
[30:01] just tuning into the sensations,
[30:04] internal sensations,
[30:07] any thoughts that come, any moods that
[30:11] Yes.
[31:52] Okay.
[31:52] >> And slowly come up.
[31:56] And let's just extend our legs for a
[31:58] moment.
[32:00] And have your fingertips behind you. And
[32:03] just open your chest. Just staying in
[32:05] dandasana.
[32:07] You can drop your chin and take some
[32:09] breaths.
[32:32] And then let's just release the left
[32:34] leg, sole of the foot to the inside seam
[32:36] of the leg.
[32:38] And we're going to come forward into
[32:39] janoshasana. Now maybe you want to have
[32:43] a block underneath your knee and hold
[32:45] that way.
[32:47] Maybe you want to loop the strap like we
[32:50] did in our last class.
[32:52] Or maybe your body is just it's easy for
[32:55] you to get your belly to your thigh.
[32:58] And you can just release.
[33:02] Again, we're going to hold this for a
[33:04] little while.
[33:06] Just notice how you feel.
[33:14] Any changes in sensation,
[33:18] mood, thoughts.
[34:02] and then slowly coming up
[34:05] and changing sides.
[34:09] So you'll notice that we're really
[34:12] starting to wind down. Whenever the head
[34:15] is lower than the heart, then we become
[34:17] quite quiet in the mind.
[34:23] And just notice how you relate to that
[34:26] feeling.
[34:30] If that feeling is there, it might not
[34:32] be there. So whatever is there, just try
[34:35] and be with it as it is.
[35:31] Slowly
[35:42] come up
[35:45] and let's make our way to a comfortable
[35:48] seat. We're going to move into the
[35:51] mantra mudra meditation practice now.
[35:55] So satyam it's the mantra that we're
[35:59] going to work with. But first we just
[36:01] work with the breath and our a mudra
[36:05] right. So as we inhale we visualize the
[36:10] breath moving from the heart to the
[36:11] crown and as we exhale exhale we imagine
[36:16] the
[36:18] energy surrounding us in a fine purple
[36:21] mist and we use our hands. So we have
[36:24] our hands in lotus mudra and we
[36:27] visualize that on each finger is an
[36:30] emotion, a feeling, something that we're
[36:34] carrying with us at the moment.
[36:37] And every time we come back to this
[36:39] place, we can work with the same emotion
[36:41] or we can just let whatever is there
[36:43] arise.
[36:46] So on the inhalation, we're going to
[36:48] lift it up and send that emotion back to
[36:53] its source, which is wholeness, oneness.
[36:56] And then as we exhale, we release the
[36:58] arms and it's like we surround ourselves
[37:00] in a fine purple mist. And so we'll do
[37:03] this a few times
[37:06] and then we'll add the mantra s. So
[37:09] we'll inhale suck
[37:12] and we'll exhale yum and surround
[37:14] ourselves in a fine purple mist. And all
[37:16] of this will be internal and then
[37:18] eventually we'll let go of the mudra and
[37:21] we'll just chant the mantra and
[37:23] visualize our breath flowing into this
[37:27] beautiful fountain. Yeah.
[37:31] But to start off with, let's just come
[37:33] into padirasana
[37:35] and close our eyes.
[37:39] And just let your breath settle.
[37:50] Seeing if you can feel your breath
[37:52] evenly in left and right sides of the
[37:55] chest.
[38:00] So the word satyam means truth
[38:06] and you are the truth
[38:22] and then bring your hands down without
[38:24] doing anything yet mudras nothing just
[38:27] imagine the breath flowing from your
[38:29] heart to your crown. down
[38:33] and then exhale. Visualize that fine
[38:36] purple mist surrounding your whole body.
[38:42] And again, inhaling from heart to crown.
[38:48] And as you exhale, a fine purple mist
[38:51] surrounds your whole body.
[38:55] And just do that a few times. Inhaling
[38:57] heart to crown.
[39:03] and exhaling, surrounding your body in a
[39:06] fine purple mist.
[39:10] And then adding the mudra, feeling like
[39:12] you're gathering all the emotions in one
[39:15] in your hands, all the feeling. And as
[39:19] you inhale, lifting it up.
[39:22] And as you exhale, like toss it back.
[39:25] And then surround yourself in a pure
[39:27] purple mist.
[39:30] Again, gathering all those emotions,
[39:33] those feelings.
[39:35] And then inhale, take it up to the
[39:37] crown.
[39:39] And as you exhale, send it back and
[39:42] surround yourself in a fine purple mist.
[39:48] Again, gathering up all the feelings.
[39:53] Inhale. Lift it up.
[39:58] Exhale. Send it back.
[40:05] Inhale. Gathering it all up.
[40:12] And exhale. Sending it back.
[40:20] And again. Inhale.
[40:28] and exhale.
[40:36] Now this time adding the mantra focusing
[40:39] the mind. Sat
[40:45] Yum.
[40:51] Set.
[40:57] Yum.
[41:03] Sat.
[41:09] Yum.
[41:12] And then let go of the mudra and just
[41:15] internally feel yourself living inside
[41:18] this fountain.
[41:20] Letting go of what's in the heart,
[41:23] giving it back and then surrounding
[41:26] yourself in the fine purple mist. So
[41:28] internally chanting s
[41:32] yum
[41:36] s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s
[41:36] s
[41:41] y yum
[41:46] s set s
[41:51] yum
[41:57] That
[42:01] young
[42:06] set
[42:26] and Just keep going in your own timing.
[42:34] Eventually feeling that satyam right in
[42:37] the center of the heart like a pulse of
[42:40] light. Satyam
[42:42] satyam
[42:43] satyam
[42:45] satyam.
[42:49] Just letting it sit there.
[42:52] That tender beautiful heart.
[42:57] The seat of our feelings.
[43:10] Feel that mantra in the center of your
[43:12] heart. Satyam.
[43:14] Satyam.
[43:16] Satyam.
[44:53] and just begin to deepen and lengthen
[44:55] your breath.
[45:01] Let's put our hands on our heart. We're
[45:03] going to chant the mantra satyam
[45:05] together three times.
[45:08] Taking a big breath in.
[45:12] Satium
[45:25] Uh,
[45:36] sadium.
[45:49] And then slide your hands down the front
[45:51] of your body,
[45:53] down through your hips, over your knees,
[45:55] into your calf muscles, into the soles
[45:58] of your feet. And let's lie ourselves
[46:01] down
[46:03] for relaxation.
[46:06] Chavasana.
[46:09] Maybe you need to do something like give
[46:11] yourself a twist or there's anything
[46:14] your body you feel like your body needs,
[46:16] give it to yourself.
[46:26] extending your legs. Palms facing
[46:28] upwards.
[46:30] Chin is down a little bit. Back of the
[46:32] neck long.
[47:05] and just feel how the earth supports
[47:07] your body.
[47:11] There's nothing you need to do or undo.
[47:15] Just feeling your effortless presence.
[52:20] Satyam
[52:22] Gamand
[52:26] Brahman.
[52:28] Satyam Gamand
[52:32] Brahman.
[52:44] So slowly bring your awareness back to
[52:46] your body.
[52:48] Gently moving your fingers and your
[52:51] toes.
[52:57] Maybe you feel like taking a stretch.
[53:09] And then rolling to one side.
[53:23] Taking your time to come up to sitting.
[53:31] Placing your hands on your body
[53:33] somewhere.
[53:43] Just noticing again how you feel.
[54:02] And may whatever moved through you in
[54:05] the class today
[54:08] bring inspiration for the rest of the
[54:11] day. and into your week.
[54:15] Namaste. Thank you.
