Why You Give Your Power Away, and How to Take It Back

Somebody is standing in a doorway. The room is full, the conversation is moving along, and then one person shifts their weight in that frame and the whole room tightens. You may not notice the moment you start leaning toward them. Your attention leaves your own body, lands on their face, their mood, the question of what they're thinking about you, and stays there. That is the image that opens a long conversation on The Adult Chair Podcast, where host Michelle Chalfant sits down with teacher Sue Morter to talk about bioenergetics, emotional triggers, nervous system patterns and what it means to bring attention back to yourself. Morter, who spent twenty years in clinical practice before becoming a teacher, argues that the most reliable way to stay stuck is to keep searching for what is wrong, and that triggers hit so hard because we have handed our center to the people and circumstances around us.

What happens when someone in the doorway takes your power?

The most useful thing about the episode is how it reframes a trigger. Most of us experience a trigger as something that happens to us: a partner's tone, a boss's email, a sibling's comment at the holiday table. Morter's framing moves the event from the other person to the one who is reacting. Early in the conversation she puts it plainly: "You don't even know you're doing it, but you're giving them your power." The person in the doorway has not taken anything. Your attention has gone out to meet them, and in that transfer, your sense of safety is now located somewhere outside you.

Her remedy is equally direct. Keep looking at the person in the doorway and you will keep feeling the pull. But "call that right back home," she says, and "you're going to feel very differently." The advice sounds simple. The episode's larger argument is that it is hard to do because our habits of attention were built long before we had words for them.

Who is the teacher behind this framework?

Morter's own story is part of why the conversation carries weight. She describes herself, without much polish, as a child who was terrified of the world. "I would cry if an adult would talk to me," she tells Chalfant. She hid in her room, slept on the floor of her closet, and struggled with life in general. Decades later she is speaking to audiences in what she describes as 140 countries, and she presents that arc as evidence of what a change in inner orientation can do.

The turning point, as she tells it, came through her clinical work. She was practicing in a results-based clinic that taught people to work with healing on every level, and she was getting migraines herself. She had read research suggesting meditation helped migraines, and she noticed she was missing a day or two a week. So she began to meditate. In her telling, the result was immediate: "I instantly started having transcendental multi-dimensional experiences just like that, and it changed my life forever." (The episode opens with her account at 2:04 and her migraine story at 3:11.) Whatever one makes of the language of "transcendental" experience, the through-line is practical. Her interest in energy was born from a body that wasn't working and a practice that changed it.

What does bioenergetics actually mean?

Morter's definition begins with a claim about matter. "Modern science is showing us that everything is energy," she says in the episode. "Even the physical matter in our lives is just compressed energy." The chair you're sitting in is energy in solid form. Your body is energy compressed into physiology. Thoughts are energy too, only less compressed. From that starting point, bioenergetics is simply "the energy as it relates to the body": bio for body, energetics for the energy that flows through it.

She describes a pattern of energy flow that is healing and rejuvenating, the flow that builds, sustains, detoxifies and cleanses. When that flow is blocked, distorted or suppressed, the consequences show up in the body and mind together. "We stop digesting properly. We stop thinking properly," she says. Anxiety, depression and exhaustion, in her framework, are not separate problems but downstream effects of energy that isn't moving the way it was designed to move. This is where the episode connects bioenergetics to the mind-body relationship and to consciousness, treating the body not as a machine to fix but as an expression of how attention and energy are organized.

Why does looking for what's wrong keep you stuck?

This is the central paradox of the conversation, and it is the one most likely to change how a listener approaches their own bad days. Morter's claim is blunt: "The number one way to block the energy is to go looking for the blockages." Our instinct when something feels off is to diagnose it, to scan for the problem, to ask what is wrong with us. The episode argues that this scanning is itself the interruption.

"When we look for what's wrong, we're starting to route the energy differently than it's designed. Because if we're to look for what's right and we enhance that, we will heal whatever the blockage was in the first place." (Sue Morter, The Adult Chair Podcast, around 7:54)

It is a reversal of a deeply familiar self-improvement logic. The usual model says you find the flaw, then you fix it. Morter's model says the attention you spend hunting for the flaw is the very thing routing energy away from where healing happens. Enhance what is working, return to what is right, and the blockage tends to resolve on its own terms. This is not an argument for ignoring symptoms. It is an argument about where your attention is when you try to help yourself.

Why do pessimism and worst-case thinking feel like protection?

The episode description lists a set of patterns that the conversation takes seriously: pessimism, sarcasm and worst-case-scenario thinking, which Morter's framework treats as forms of protection rather than character flaws. Its opening moments model a different response to these inner voices. Rather than fighting the pessimist, the speaker turns toward it with something close to tenderness: "Love the part of you that's being pessimistic right now. My god, I see you trying to protect me."

That gesture matters because it changes the question. If pessimism is a guard posted by a part of you that learned, somewhere, that expecting the worst kept you safe, then arguing with it only escalates the vigilance. Acknowledging the protective intent gives the part a job that has already been done. The episode frames this as a way of coming home to yourself rather than stepping out of your body to manage your reactions from a distance. In a trigger, the pessimistic voice is often the first sign that your attention has already left for the doorway.

Is bringing attention back to yourself selfish?

Many people hear "focus on yourself" and worry they are being asked to stop caring about others. The episode anticipates that objection. In the exchange that opens the conversation, the response is clear: "It isn't selfish. It's being personally responsible." The distinction is important. Selfishness, in this framing, would be taking energy from others. Personal responsibility means refusing to hand your own energy to someone who has not asked for it and does not need to be managed in your head.

There is a practical consequence. A person who keeps asking "Do they like me?" and "What are they thinking about me?" is reading the other person as the source of their emotional state. A person who returns attention home is still paying attention to the other person, but from a stable center rather than a leaking one. Relationships, on this view, tend to go better when both people are located in themselves.

Why isn't positive thinking enough on its own?

The episode also takes up the question of why positive thinking alone isn't always the answer, and this is where Morter's logic is most distinctive. If the problem is where attention is located, then a stream of cheerful affirmations can still be aimed outward, still seeking reassurance from the room, still checking the doorway to see whether the affirmation is working. Positivity pointed at the other person's approval is still a transfer of power. The alternative the conversation points toward is less about replacing one thought with a better one and more about relocating the attention that is producing the thoughts in the first place.

What does coming home actually feel like?

Morter is specific about the experience of returning. In the segment around 37:24, she describes the moment of arriving back in oneself through sensation: you feel held, you feel seen, and the room that felt threatening starts to feel like a room again. Earlier in the conversation she describes gathering attention back toward the body and letting it settle there. It is not a dramatic transformation. It is a shift in where your awareness rests, repeated until it becomes a default.

For listeners who want to test this, the simplest practice is the one the episode returns to: when you notice you are fixed on someone, notice the fixation, then deliberately bring your attention back to your own body and to what is working. The host also points listeners to a free trigger toolkit linked in the episode description, which includes journaling prompts and steps for returning to center in difficult moments. The toolkit is the host's own resource rather than part of Morter's teaching, but it is built on the same premise: you cannot stop reacting from a place you have left.

Where to go from here

The episode runs about seventy minutes, and the transcript covers far more ground than a single article can hold, including childhood programming, unconscious beliefs and the nervous system patterns that make a trigger feel like an emergency. If the ideas here are useful, the full conversation is worth watching in order, because Morter's framework builds: the doorway image leads to the question of blockage, the question of blockage leads to protection, and protection leads back to personal responsibility. Start with one moment this week. The next time someone in the doorway pulls your attention, notice where you went, and then ask what it would feel like to call that attention home.

[0:00] The number one way to block the energy

[0:02] is to go looking for the blockages.

[0:04] Somebody was standing in the doorway of

[0:06] the room that everyone is in right now

[0:09] that triggers you. You don't even know

[0:10] you're doing it, but you're giving them

[0:12] your power. If you keep looking at them

[0:14] in the doorway, but you call that right

[0:16] back home, you're going to feel very

[0:18] differently. Love the part of you that's

[0:20] being pessimistic right now. My god, I

[0:22] see you trying to protect me.

[0:23] >> And it's not being selfish. That's not

[0:24] [music] what you're saying.

[0:25] >> Yeah, it isn't selfish. It's it's being

[0:28] personally responsible.

[0:31] Welcome to the Adult Chair podcast, Dr.

[0:34] Sue Morty.

[0:36] >> Oh, it's a pleasure to be here. Thank

[0:38] you so much for all that you're doing

[0:40] and for this beautiful introduction and

[0:43] all of the all. I look forward to seeing

[0:45] where we get to go today.

[0:46] >> Yes, thank you so much. I was sharing

[0:48] with you a moment ago. I'm just so happy

[0:50] to have you on. So much of what you

[0:52] share I comp 100 100% align with and

[0:56] it's time to talk about this. So, I'm

[0:58] I'm thrilled to have you on. Um, I was

[1:01] thinking prior to starting, I'm like,

[1:02] where do I want to begin? Because

[1:03] there's like 50 different ways that we

[1:05] could begin the show today, but

[1:07] >> Exactly. Right.

[1:07] >> For people that may not know who you

[1:09] are.

[1:10] >> I thought it'd be great to start out

[1:11] with, can you just tell us a little bit

[1:13] about yourself, who you are, and what

[1:14] you do?

[1:15] >> Sure. Well, I am currently a um a

[1:19] teacher. My teachings are around the

[1:21] world, 140 countries. uh we're speaking

[1:25] about bioenergetics and a crossroads

[1:27] between quantum science and spirituality

[1:29] and human potential and self-healing and

[1:32] and awakening and embodiment and all

[1:35] sorts of fun things that we can probably

[1:37] get into. uh previous to my teaching um

[1:42] part of my life, I was a clinician in

[1:44] the clinic for uh 20 years and um in a

[1:49] resultsbased, you know, uh system that

[1:52] was very interested in teaching people

[1:54] how to heal themselves and how to uh

[1:57] work with healing on every level in

[1:59] their lives, whether it was physical or

[2:00] mental or emotional, chemical,

[2:02] nutritional, what have you. And it also

[2:04] ended up, you know, uh, working with

[2:07] people's relationships and their

[2:08] financial circumstances because it's all

[2:10] connected. It's all interrelated. And,

[2:13] uh, I served on licensing boards and am

[2:16] m am faculty and medical schools and,

[2:19] uh, so I've always been very involved

[2:21] in, you know, how to educate, how to

[2:24] turn, how to integrate, um, in how to

[2:27] truly serve humanity. Prior to that, I

[2:30] was in school and prior to that, I was a

[2:32] very shy kid that struggled uh with life

[2:36] uh in general. I would cry if an adult

[2:38] would talk to me. I hid in my room all

[2:40] the time, slept on the floor in my

[2:41] closet. I was just a terrified person.

[2:44] So the fact that I'm out speaking in the

[2:47] world around the world and how, you

[2:48] know, this kind of a thing happening is

[2:50] just a testament to the kinds of things

[2:52] that we're about to talk about um and

[2:54] how it can transform our lives and and

[2:56] really draw the truth up and out and

[3:00] allow us to discover worlds we never

[3:03] dreamt of um in terms of, you know,

[3:06] living our full potential. So,

[3:08] >> oh my gosh,

[3:08] >> that's a little bit about me. I had

[3:09] migraine headaches. That's what caused

[3:11] me to go and and seek meditation because

[3:14] I heard and saw the research that

[3:16] meditation helped migraines and I could

[3:18] help other people in my clinic with

[3:20] their migraine headaches but I was

[3:21] missing a day or two a week um with

[3:23] them. So I decided to go and meditate

[3:26] and I instantly started having

[3:27] transcendental multi-dimensional

[3:29] experiences just just like that and it

[3:34] changed my life forever. So that's what

[3:36] sent me on a path of really discovering

[3:39] what it is that's really going on here

[3:41] and who we really are and what we're

[3:43] capable of. And so um so I look forward

[3:46] to seeing what we get to u share today.

[3:49] >> This is going to be a six-hour podcast.

[3:51] >> Okay, I'm in. [laughter]

[3:54] >> I have about a hundred questions already

[3:56] just based on your intro. So thank you.

[3:58] >> Okay. [laughter]

[4:00] >> So okay my Okay. I don't I want to start

[4:03] with you said some really big things

[4:05] like bioenergetics

[4:08] self-healing migraine headaches now gone

[4:11] transcend I mean so many things I want

[4:13] to touch on here so

[4:15] >> let's start with I do want to get to

[4:17] your migraines and and and what happened

[4:19] and what happened when you did that that

[4:21] meditation but what's bioenergetics

[4:24] let's break that down first

[4:25] >> yeah what the heck is that right so it's

[4:28] very easy really so what we know is that

[4:30] that quantum science science. And that

[4:32] might be a scary term too, but science,

[4:35] let's just say that modern science is

[4:37] showing us that everything is energy.

[4:40] Even the physical matter in our lives is

[4:42] just compressed energy. Like the chair

[4:44] that you're sitting in is energy. It's

[4:46] just been been compressed into solid

[4:49] form. And so our bodies are energy. It's

[4:51] just compressed into this physiology.

[4:54] Our thoughts are energies, but it's just

[4:56] not quite as compressed as our physical

[4:58] bodies. And so and so on. So everything

[5:00] is energy. So bioenergetics just means

[5:04] the energy as it relates to the body.

[5:06] Bio means body, energetics means the

[5:09] energy that flows through the body. So

[5:11] there's a certain pattern just as an

[5:13] example, a certain pattern of energy

[5:15] flow that flows through our body that is

[5:18] healing and rejuvenative and it built

[5:21] the body and it sustains the body and

[5:23] and you know detoxifies and cleanses and

[5:25] heals and if that energy gets blocked we

[5:28] stop healing. We stop digesting

[5:31] properly. We stop thinking properly. We

[5:33] everything shifts when the energy gets

[5:36] distorted or thwarted or suppressed. We

[5:39] become ultimately anxious and depressed

[5:41] and exhausted. We don't heal. It's all

[5:44] the stuff all the stuff that we have is

[5:46] a byproduct ultimately of energy not

[5:49] flowing the way that it's supposed to

[5:51] be. So the study of bioenergetics is how

[5:54] to keep it flowing, how to get it

[5:56] flowing again, how to get it, you know,

[5:58] tuned in and dialed into the true

[6:01] purpose of all of this and the purpose

[6:04] of our lives and how it all relates and

[6:07] uh and how to flourish in those ways. So

[6:12] So that's the come from when it when

[6:14] it's when we're referencing

[6:16] bioenergetics. So my institute is all

[6:18] about teaching people how to do that for

[6:21] themselves, how to do it for other

[6:22] people as a practitioner, how to learn

[6:26] to work with energy through breath work

[6:28] and focused concentration and surrender

[6:31] and all kinds of fun things. So we'll

[6:33] see what we need to talk about.

[6:35] >> Is that is my is it the same

[6:37] bioenergetics as John Paracus?

[6:41] Uh the the uh the detail here the

[6:45] emphasis is also deeply rooted in um

[6:51] consciousness and the study of

[6:53] consciousness and an ancient practices

[6:56] regarding you know meditation and the

[7:00] bridge between uh the mind and the body

[7:04] and so on. So there's a little bit more

[7:06] of a causal, you know, all the way back

[7:09] to the basics. Um, got it, you know,

[7:12] when I speak about

[7:13] >> Okay. Okay. It was the same term that I

[7:15] know. So I just want to make sure that

[7:16] if anyone had that same thought, I

[7:18] wanted to ask that question. Okay.

[7:20] >> So let's break it way down. So our en

[7:22] the energy of the body is flowing quite

[7:25] naturally all on its own. And the when

[7:28] we get sick, it is because it is

[7:30] blocked. If we really just simplify

[7:32] simplify and break it way down, it's

[7:34] because we're blocked somewhere. Yes.

[7:37] >> Yes. Now, you know, the most important

[7:38] thing that we don't do is then encourage

[7:41] everybody to go looking for their

[7:42] blockages

[7:44] >> because the number excuse me um

[7:49] Oh, excuse me.

[7:49] >> Bless you.

[7:50] >> Thank you. I love to be blessed. So,

[7:52] thank you. [laughter] Um

[7:54] um the number one way to block the

[7:57] energy is to go looking for the

[7:58] blockages. Mhm.

[8:00] >> You follow?

[8:01] >> The number one way to ensure that our

[8:03] system is not going to function properly

[8:05] is if we start looking for what's wrong

[8:08] with it. Truly,

[8:09] >> when we look for what's wrong, we're

[8:11] starting to route the energy differently

[8:13] than it's designed. Because we're if

[8:15] we're to look for what's right and we

[8:17] enhance that, we will heal whatever the

[8:19] blockage was in the first place. You

[8:22] know, this So, it's just some food for

[8:24] thought there.

[8:25] >> That's really good. Yeah,

[8:27] >> that's really really good because when

[8:30] we have an ache or a pain or something

[8:32] isn't working in the body, we

[8:34] automatically we're so programmed just

[8:36] to go to the doctor or we just go what's

[8:38] wrong? I don't even like that word

[8:39] wrong. What's wrong with me?

[8:41] >> Yeah.

[8:42] >> And we're looking for what's wrong

[8:44] instead of how else would you say that?

[8:46] >> Right. So, what what I would say uh is

[8:51] there are many things you can do before

[8:53] you go to the doctor. Mhm.

[8:55] >> Um that you could possibly probably move

[9:00] the energy on your own and allow this

[9:03] thing to self-resolve

[9:06] >> but doing so recognizing that it's h

[9:10] whatever is happening is happening as a

[9:12] signal. If you end up with back pain or

[9:15] headaches or digestive issues there's a

[9:18] sign to that. There is a message in it

[9:20] for you. It means that there are aspects

[9:24] of your own full consciousness that

[9:27] you're not really accepting, dialing

[9:31] into, engaging, or animating.

[9:33] >> And so those parts of you are are

[9:37] suffering. For instance, there's a

[9:39] direct relationship between you

[9:41] digesting something that happens in your

[9:43] life, metabolizing it, accepting it,

[9:46] embracing it, not rejecting it, and

[9:47] resisting it, and a correlation to your

[9:49] digestive system. So, if you're

[9:52] resisting these things on a mental and

[9:53] emotional level, it will show up in the

[9:55] physical body uh as a reflection and an

[9:58] opportunity for you to realize, hey,

[10:00] there's a lack of metabolism happening.

[10:03] And it starts with your consciousness.

[10:05] So consciousness is foundational.

[10:09] Our our attitude, our disposition, our

[10:12] way of being is foundational to our life

[10:15] experience. And our body is the caboose

[10:18] on a train. And the engine of that train

[10:22] is our thoughts and our beliefs and our

[10:24] ways of being etc. So if we're having a

[10:27] physical ailment, it can be traced back

[10:30] to something non-physical

[10:33] >> but energetic. And that energetic self

[10:36] is affected by how we think, how we

[10:39] process life, who we believe ourselves

[10:40] to be, what we feel is possible for us

[10:43] or not, etc. So, if I um have a

[10:47] difficult time exchanging with life

[10:49] freely, I'm going to have respiratory

[10:52] issues because that's how we exchange

[10:54] with life is through our lungs and

[10:56] through our our breath. In that way, if

[10:59] I'm overthinking and over trying and

[11:02] overdoing in that way, I'm likely going

[11:04] to end up with headaches because I'm

[11:06] overstimulating,

[11:08] you know, one part of myself and not

[11:10] allowing the whole system to be

[11:12] contributing to my life, to my day, to

[11:16] my my interpretations of what's

[11:18] happening and and so on. So, that's a

[11:21] lot. I just dumped on you in the first

[11:22] no, but it's wonderful. So, what do you

[11:25] say to somebody that's had, let's say,

[11:27] somebody with irritable bowel for like

[11:29] 20 years?

[11:30] >> Yeah.

[11:30] >> Can they still also turn something like

[11:32] that around?

[11:33] >> Absolutely. Many, many times.

[11:36] >> It's not as Would you say it's not as

[11:37] easy as someone that just notices it a

[11:39] month ago or is it

[11:41] >> it's it's beyond time really. The truth

[11:43] of us is not time bound.

[11:46] >> What that means is we can shift things

[11:48] in an instant if we if we tap the

[11:51] correct frequency. if we tap into what's

[11:54] really going on there. So irritable

[11:56] bowel is a byproduct of of a lot of of

[12:00] anxiety, worry, externalization of our

[12:03] attention, trying to fit in, trying to

[12:05] do the right thing, trying to be a good

[12:06] person or at least appear to be calm and

[12:09] cool and collected when there's

[12:11] something different going on inside. And

[12:13] so our digestive system is just it just

[12:16] doesn't stand a chance with the signals

[12:17] that it's getting. uh you know and

[12:20] there's there's a whole mechanism there

[12:22] that is based in epigenetics and and uh

[12:26] signals the the the crossroads between

[12:28] our thoughts and our physiology, our

[12:32] thoughts and our ability to digest.

[12:34] There's a there's a mechanism there that

[12:36] bridges that. And so if our thoughts are

[12:39] constantly um really unrelentingly

[12:43] oriented like seated in um you know a a

[12:48] certain disposition our physiology is

[12:50] going to reflect that. So for instance

[12:54] if uh I have had a patient that was you

[12:57] know had irritable bowel was you know

[12:59] was really conflicted with it had

[13:01] trouble sometimes when it was really you

[13:04] know uh irritated she couldn't leave the

[13:06] house she was just you know it was a

[13:07] thing and and her mother had it and her

[13:11] mother um was a very nervous person and

[13:14] her mother overcame her nervousness by

[13:17] being very judgmental and controlling

[13:20] and always making sure that, you know,

[13:23] they did the right thing and she was

[13:25] always pointing out when other people

[13:27] were doing the wrong thing and and lots

[13:29] and lots of judgment. So this patient

[13:31] that I had grew up in an environment

[13:33] where that's what you did. That's that's

[13:35] just what you did. When you looked out

[13:37] into a crowd, you picked out the people

[13:38] who were overweight or the people who

[13:40] were, you know, I mean, all the stuff

[13:42] that is so not politically correct

[13:44] today, but 50 years ago, that's what she

[13:47] was doing. That's what she was raised

[13:48] in. And so, um, she was raised in that

[13:53] environment. It produces anxiety. When

[13:56] your foundation is judgment, you're

[13:59] always afraid of being judged because

[14:01] that's the reality that you know. And

[14:04] so, and you know how bad it is when

[14:06] you're being judged and what people

[14:07] think because you do it all the time.

[14:08] And so, you know, she was caught in this

[14:10] quagmire. And when I started to just

[14:13] point out and unpack that with her, she

[14:16] be it took her a while to realize that

[14:18] she was actually judging. She thought

[14:20] she was just very discerning and very

[14:23] astute and you know it had a whole

[14:25] different flavor in her mind. But when

[14:27] we connected those dots, the digestive

[14:30] system rearranged because she stopped

[14:32] misusing it. She stopped misusing the

[14:36] energies of her mind that then were

[14:39] reflected in her body. Now, if people

[14:41] are like, I still don't understand what

[14:42] you're talking about. Like, what's the

[14:44] connection there? So, everybody actually

[14:45] knows this connection. If you've ever

[14:48] been worried to the point that you got a

[14:50] stomach ache, you've already experienced

[14:53] this connection, this mindbody

[14:55] relationship, or if you've ever been so

[14:58] frustrated that your throat tightened up

[15:01] and your chest got tight and you're just

[15:04] you wanted to say this thing and you

[15:06] know that physiological reaction is to

[15:09] your mind. It's it's to what you're

[15:11] thinking. Or if you've worried yourself

[15:13] into a headache or worried yourself into

[15:15] sleepless nights, that's that's what I'm

[15:17] talking about. It's just that simple.

[15:20] But it can be it can become just that

[15:22] complex if if it goes on insidiously for

[15:27] an extended period of time. And we

[15:28] forget that we were ever upset and now

[15:31] it's years later and our system is still

[15:33] locked in to some big upset that we had

[15:36] a long time ago. and we don't connect

[15:39] the dots. And so there's a way to

[15:41] connect the dots and a way to, you know,

[15:43] disarm this whole system, but it it's a

[15:47] it's the the most common thing that

[15:50] plagues our inability, you know, it

[15:53] plagues our ability to heal and renders

[15:55] us, you know, stuck with pain patterns

[15:57] or symptom patterns for long periods of

[16:00] time.

[16:00] >> Are you saying the way we speak to

[16:01] ourselves or the way we think is the is

[16:04] what is preventing us from healing?

[16:06] >> Yeah. Mhm.

[16:08] >> Yeah.

[16:09] >> But what about

[16:11] >> not just on a conscious level?

[16:12] >> I was you're you're taking the words out

[16:13] of my mouth. This is this is the kind of

[16:15] I love this work. This is what I do

[16:17] because it's not just consciously. It's

[16:19] we got to get into the root is I call it

[16:21] the tap route or the belief the program

[16:23] that was

[16:24] >> placed in there when you were probably 0

[16:26] to six. I don't know what I want to know

[16:28] what what your beliefs are about that.

[16:30] >> Yeah. Same. Same. Even in the womb. You

[16:32] bet. Zero.

[16:33] >> Yeah. Zero to six. So

[16:34] >> yeah.

[16:35] >> Yes. By that time that we're we're we're

[16:38] we're in a an energetic soup that is

[16:41] generated by our mother in the womb and

[16:44] our father based upon the influence he

[16:46] has on the mother and then you in the

[16:48] womb. And so if they're fighting, you're

[16:52] you're baking. You're developing in, you

[16:55] know, in angry soup, you know, in

[16:57] frustration or or if your mother felt

[17:00] that she didn't have a voice, the

[17:01] chances are it's having an influence

[17:03] because of the energetic frequencies

[17:05] that are enhanced or or distorted in

[17:08] some way during your time as the

[17:10] developing embryo. So, this individual

[17:12] can come out into the world

[17:13] automatically feeling like something's

[17:16] wrong or that something is that they're

[17:18] not safe or that that they don't have a

[17:20] voice in the world because they were

[17:22] developed in a womb of a mother who

[17:24] didn't have a voice in the world while

[17:25] we were under development. But, but I

[17:28] have to say this, if all that is true,

[17:31] there's a reason for it. And now we get

[17:33] into this soulful evolution kind of

[17:37] conversation that is just and I and I

[17:40] bring it up just so that people realize

[17:42] that if you were born into situations or

[17:46] imprinted at a very early age with

[17:50] scenarios and circumstances that have

[17:52] you stuck in a fight orflight reality or

[17:55] believing or understanding yourself from

[17:57] those terms, there's a reason for it. It

[17:59] wasn't a mistake. You weren't duped. You

[18:02] didn't draw the short straw. You know,

[18:03] it wasn't unlucky. It's actually part of

[18:07] why you came. It's what you're doing

[18:09] here. You came in to take that energy

[18:13] and break it up and turn it into

[18:16] something else through your own life

[18:18] process. You came in to to bring

[18:22] coherence to that dissonant energy

[18:24] field. And that's how evolution of the

[18:27] individual is happening. And it's also

[18:29] how the expansion of consciousness

[18:32] itself is happening uh on this planet.

[18:36] So there's a big old explanation for the

[18:38] circumstances that we find ourselves in.

[18:40] And it's important I think to just

[18:42] inject a little bit of that in the

[18:43] conversation in this moment because it's

[18:46] easy for us to get into this idea of you

[18:48] know what am I supposed to do? you know,

[18:51] it was my mom and my dad or it was my

[18:52] circumstances or it was my early life

[18:54] and you know, how do I ever get get into

[18:57] those patterns and und disentangle them

[18:59] or or heal them when I don't even know

[19:01] what they were? And there are some

[19:03] beautiful ways to do that uh that are so

[19:06] fulfilling and uh inspiring for us when

[19:10] we start living you know from this

[19:13] perspective which you know but but but I

[19:15] just wanted to share that there's more

[19:18] than hope there is something to be

[19:21] celebrated by all the circumstances that

[19:23] we have found ourselves in it's for us

[19:26] and sometime let me just say this lastly

[19:28] >> please keep going

[19:29] >> sometimes people will say you know so

[19:32] many things happened to me. You know, I

[19:34] my parents were divorcing, my mother was

[19:36] a an addict, my father was absent, I was

[19:40] abused. I mean, I've had many a patient

[19:43] and then many a student that have shared

[19:46] stories like this of of extreme measure

[19:49] and and if this is true for some of our

[19:52] listeners, I want to say this that that

[19:56] I have this saying that that is big

[20:00] beings take on big projects

[20:03] and they get started right away. they

[20:05] often land right in it so that they

[20:07] never really know the difference so that

[20:09] they can just kind of climb out of that

[20:11] and find their way through the weeds and

[20:13] open it up and and evolve. And so that

[20:16] big being broad shoulders can handle a

[20:19] lot. So it takes a lot to really press

[20:23] them into um you know their challenge,

[20:26] their edge, put them on their edge to

[20:29] awaken to a even greater version of who

[20:33] they are. So, so I just wanted to say to

[20:36] everyone who's who's here that if you've

[20:39] had a long litany of things that have

[20:41] unfolded in your life,

[20:43] >> um it isn't just about surviving those

[20:45] things and it isn't just about undoing

[20:47] the harm or the damage or the wounds.

[20:50] That's that's a beautiful piece of life

[20:52] and there's more. If we can move to the

[20:55] front side of the model of

[20:57] consciousness, um, which I wrote about

[20:59] in my first book, we start to see that

[21:02] all those things were in our favor.

[21:04] They're in our favor. They're honing us

[21:07] and refining us and polishing us and

[21:09] picking us up or pressing us in,

[21:12] anchoring us in some way that is

[21:15] >> shaping us, forging us into the

[21:19] magnificent being that we truly are.

[21:22] It's actually forging us into a a state

[21:25] that allows for our magnificence to

[21:29] emerge freely. And you know, that's

[21:31] that's why we're here. That's what we're

[21:33] doing here.

[21:34] >> That's exactly it. That's this is why

[21:35] we're here. And we forget that.

[21:38] >> Yeah.

[21:39] >> We forget that. Why? And and I think

[21:42] people either take that stance of why me

[21:44] this and I say this all the time. Ask

[21:47] yourself the question why is this

[21:48] happening for me? It pulls you out of

[21:51] the victim and brings you into

[21:52] empowerment when you get curious in this

[21:54] way. And but I love your explanation of

[21:58] what did you say? Big big souls have big

[22:00] problems.

[22:00] >> Bigings beings take on big projects.

[22:03] >> Big projects. I love that. And they get

[22:06] started.

[22:06] >> It's a nice re refframe, I think. Right.

[22:09] >> Yeah. So, if you've had a half a dozen

[22:12] things happen in your life before you're

[22:13] 20 years old that were like enough to

[22:16] take any anyone out,

[22:18] >> then then when someone shows up to me

[22:20] and and gives me that case history, I'm

[22:23] like

[22:25] I'm in the presence of a very

[22:27] significant, magnificent being

[22:30] >> and I'm going to show them who they are.

[22:32] That's what I know the moment I start

[22:33] hearing those things. So, so I am

[22:36] instantly brought to

[22:38] >> okay, I get it. I know who you are. You

[22:41] are here to make a huge difference in

[22:42] the world. And it's going to start with

[22:43] you. And you might feel like you don't

[22:46] know how to do that or you don't have

[22:47] the wherewithal. You don't have the

[22:48] faculties or and you have it all. You

[22:50] have everything that it takes. No one

[22:53] has shown you how to use those faculties

[22:55] in a way that can embody that

[22:58] magnificence and utilize that power to

[23:02] pierce through veils and illusions and

[23:04] all sorts of limitations that we've made

[23:07] up

[23:08] >> for ourselves or our parents made up for

[23:10] us or their parents made up for them and

[23:11] they just handed it down or whatever the

[23:13] case may be. We have what it takes to

[23:16] transform that into

[23:18] uh you know really heaven earth really

[23:21] truly to into a world that is exactly

[23:25] why we came and as beautiful as the one

[23:27] we think is waiting for us at our next

[23:30] stop but it's it's meant to be here and

[23:33] now. [laughter]

[23:35] What do you say to people that would

[23:37] say, "Well, that's her hereditary." You

[23:39] know, my dad had it, my grandfather, my

[23:42] mom, whatever it might be. Same thing,

[23:44] right?

[23:45] >> Yeah. You know, science doesn't let us

[23:47] say that anymore. Really, if we're

[23:48] really up to date on what science is

[23:50] reporting,

[23:52] >> uh it is, you know, this world of

[23:53] epigenetics.

[23:55] And so, epigenetics means for those that

[23:57] might not have been exposed to it, uh

[24:00] yet uh it it means before genetics. It

[24:03] means it's it also means it's primary to

[24:06] genetics. It's more important than

[24:08] genetics. So there is something that is

[24:10] more important than the genes that you

[24:12] inherited from your parents and their

[24:15] parents and so on. And that's just sort

[24:19] of like a uh a template that is written

[24:23] in pencil. You can rearrange it. You can

[24:25] rescribe it. And the way that you do uh

[24:29] is is you allow a different energy to be

[24:34] present which will allow your genes to

[24:37] express differently.

[24:40] >> If you're just in neutral just like

[24:42] coasting along and not doing anything,

[24:44] you're going to probably express what

[24:46] you inherited. But if you're doing

[24:49] something with you with the power that

[24:52] you possess that maybe your parents and

[24:54] their parents and their parents never

[24:55] tapped into, when you do tap into that,

[24:58] it has the power to rewrite what's going

[25:02] to express out of those genes versus

[25:05] versus what's going to sit dormant or go

[25:07] dormant and just be there not bothering

[25:09] anybody or dissolve and dissipate

[25:11] altogether as a connected um you know

[25:14] pattern. So what that means is here's

[25:16] how it works. Just a brief little

[25:18] synopsis there. On every cell of your

[25:20] body, there's a little antenna, little

[25:23] antennas on the outer surface of the

[25:26] cell. And they're constantly picking up

[25:28] on whatever frequencies, whatever

[25:30] signals are coming to these little

[25:33] antennas. And the antennas then route

[25:36] that information inside the cell. And

[25:39] that's what tells your cells what

[25:41] chemicals to produce, what to what to

[25:44] be, what to stop doing, what to start

[25:46] doing. That's how it works. And if the

[25:50] message that's hitting this little

[25:52] antenna is one of emergency or stress,

[25:55] then that gets routed into the cell and

[25:58] the cells produce stress responses in

[26:01] terms of chemicals that were responding

[26:03] to stress in terms of neurotransmitters

[26:06] that are activating the brain in

[26:08] specific ways, etc. And so there's

[26:10] there's that and

[26:12] >> and what ends up happening is uh we're

[26:16] producing u more and more of a response

[26:19] to that reality to that environment. But

[26:22] what we're recognizing is that we can

[26:24] change the environment not just by

[26:26] thinking positively but positive thought

[26:29] does have an effect. But by dropping

[26:32] into heart coherence and dropping into a

[26:36] sense of love that is unconditional and

[26:40] dropping into a presence of being that

[26:44] is far beyond the personality and your

[26:46] circumstances and recognizing that deep

[26:49] anchored timeless one that is the healer

[26:53] within that is the true soulful self.

[26:56] It's not the personality, it's the truth

[26:58] of you. And it's directly a reflection

[27:02] of, you know, this huge unified field

[27:04] that's coming into form and and so on.

[27:07] And so when we are tapping into that and

[27:10] recognizing it and honoring it, we

[27:13] create an environment inside of our

[27:16] system where those little antennas are

[27:18] now picking up on something glorious,

[27:21] something more harmonized, something

[27:23] more magnificent, something more deeply

[27:25] true than even needing to react to these

[27:28] current circumstances because they're

[27:30] going to come and they're going to go

[27:31] and there's a version of me that's

[27:33] unwavering and I'm enlivening that on.

[27:37] And so now the epigenetics is receiving

[27:41] a higher vibrational frequency than your

[27:43] parents or their parents their parents

[27:46] were receiving. And so what happens when

[27:49] those little antennas report this

[27:51] information and then we create this

[27:53] environment and it stabilizes and it's

[27:56] regularly day after day after day stable

[27:59] in this yes instead of a no. Then what

[28:03] happens is the genes that are expressing

[28:07] survival strategies and patterns stop

[28:11] expressing them because clearly it's not

[28:14] appropriate anymore. It's not necessary.

[28:16] And so we shut down the parts of us that

[28:20] are presenting or creating a distorted

[28:24] pattern in the energy field for us. And

[28:27] so the pattern in the field starts to

[28:30] perfect and we start to disentangle from

[28:34] the pattern that we were stuck in. And

[28:37] we now are not exhibiting the symptoms

[28:40] of what our parents were exhibiting

[28:43] because we've rearranged. We've turned

[28:46] off and turned on different breakers in

[28:48] the breaker box of the electrical box in

[28:51] in the house. we've switched some of

[28:54] those around and now we're we carry the

[28:58] possibility for some diabetes or some

[29:02] cons, you know, concern, but we're not

[29:05] exhibiting the symptoms of that um of

[29:09] that pattern at all. So, we can have an

[29:12] effect on it. So, we don't really get to

[29:15] say, uh, you know, my parents, you know,

[29:17] I'm afraid of this. I was afraid of

[29:18] that. My mom had that or, you know, my

[29:21] my my so and so, you know, died of that

[29:23] or what have you. And it it becomes a

[29:25] very real struggle inside for people.

[29:29] >> But, but I want people to understand

[29:32] that there is something you can do to

[29:34] ensure that you're going to express more

[29:37] fully than that parent did. You're going

[29:41] to be more aligned with the wholeness

[29:44] and the fullness of of the infinite

[29:48] energies of the unified field, the pure

[29:51] potential of humanity, than they were

[29:53] because they weren't exposed to

[29:56] >> the how-to. if they were even exposed to

[29:59] the what we're talking about, which most

[30:01] weren't,

[30:02] >> but they weren't exposed to and living

[30:06] >> the practices and the ways of being that

[30:08] that turn these things on. So, I speak

[30:10] from healing a scoliosis in my own body

[30:13] that I was born with, a curvature of the

[30:14] spine that caused me pain my whole life.

[30:17] It's gone. It has straightened and it

[30:19] has rearranged. I've healed migraine

[30:21] headaches. I heal from injuries in a in

[30:24] a sort of curious way. and you know like

[30:26] knock wood. I don't really want you know

[30:29] uh jinx that but but I know that it's

[30:31] because of living more in the yes than

[30:35] the oh no what if or what if I can't or

[30:38] what if I it won't or what am I going to

[30:40] do when those kinds of questions that

[30:44] come from a disposition of not being

[30:47] personally empowered

[30:49] um they create the reality that we're

[30:52] afraid of. They're they're what stops

[30:54] the energy flow from flowing the way

[30:56] it's supposed to. And all of a sudden,

[30:58] we're we're like the train hits this

[30:59] wall and all these cars buckle up on

[31:02] each other and the caboose is the

[31:04] symptoms. That's the physical body is

[31:05] the caboose of this train and the engine

[31:08] is your disposition.

[31:10] Like what's your come from? What are

[31:12] you? Are you here full and whole and

[31:15] loving and giving and sharing and having

[31:18] or are you here wanting and scrapping

[31:20] and scraping and surviving and trying

[31:22] and proving and earning? You know,

[31:24] because that the latter of the two is is

[31:28] pretty tough to develop a healing

[31:31] capacity in inside the body because

[31:33] we're spending more energy than we're

[31:34] than we're keeping, you know.

[31:37] >> So, where would someone even begin?

[31:39] Because it sounds like it's more than

[31:41] just identifying I have one issue. It's

[31:44] your disposition as you say. And what if

[31:47] I'm somebody that has I'm more

[31:49] pessimistic or the glass is half empty

[31:51] and I just don't think things work out

[31:52] well for me. And I've been thinking this

[31:54] way my whole life. Like I can't remember

[31:56] when I was a positive person. Let's just

[31:58] say

[32:00] >> where would people even begin? Where

[32:02] would someone even begin? And yes, I've

[32:04] got let's just say some some physical

[32:06] stuff. So what would you say to that

[32:08] person?

[32:09] So, first of all, and nobody wants to

[32:11] hear this, but it's true. Free will. We

[32:14] do have free will,

[32:15] >> right?

[32:15] >> We are choosing. We are choosing to

[32:18] think that way. And and it's it's really

[32:20] hard to accept that I would choose to

[32:23] think in a way that hurts me.

[32:25] >> It's it's really hard to accept that.

[32:27] But it is the truth. We do have a

[32:29] choice. However, we are locked into that

[32:32] pattern and we are so addicted to those

[32:34] frequencies and we identify there that

[32:36] getting out of that even seems like

[32:38] we're abandoning ourselves because it's

[32:40] familiar. It's not right. It's not uh

[32:43] it's not aligned, but it's familiar. And

[32:46] so the subconscious that's obviously

[32:48] locked in a fight orflight state or we

[32:50] wouldn't be in that apathetic, negative,

[32:53] pessimistic, overly protective and

[32:55] guarded state. In fact, being in that

[32:58] state is what has disregulated the

[33:00] nervous system and has and so it's this

[33:02] perpetuating thing that keeps us, you

[33:04] know, in that state. And to jump ship on

[33:07] that seems really scary because I'm

[33:10] still alive. And even though I'm

[33:12] negative, at least I'm still alive. And

[33:13] so if I stop being negative, I'm not

[33:15] even sure that I can make it because

[33:17] maybe my negativity has gotten me this

[33:19] far. I don't know. And that's really how

[33:21] they're living. And so we just have to

[33:24] say timeout. Okay? We have to stop this

[33:25] runaway train. We just have to give it

[33:27] the big T. All right. So when we do

[33:29] that, what happens is [snorts]

[33:33] the way to stop that runaway train from

[33:36] crashing in that wall is to bring

[33:40] ourselves back home to ourselves. And

[33:43] you know that sounds weird, but let me

[33:45] explain. Um when we land here, we sort

[33:48] of splat energetically. We disperse. We

[33:50] externalize our attention. We give our

[33:52] power away. We're we don't know who we

[33:54] are. We're disoriented. We're we're

[33:56] we're just, you know, deconstructed in a

[33:59] way. It's a rough landing. And so, we're

[34:02] constantly paying attention to the outer

[34:04] world. Like, do you like me? Am I

[34:05] fitting in? Am I doing the right thing?

[34:07] Am I getting rewarded? Do I am I okay?

[34:09] And all of that external referencing

[34:12] keeps our energy dispersed. These little

[34:15] photons that are the foundation of

[34:17] everything, they are controlled by our

[34:20] thoughts. If we think about that, they

[34:22] go over there. If we think about this,

[34:25] they come here. So, literally, if we

[34:28] bring our attention into our inner core,

[34:32] little photons, which are subatomic

[34:34] particles that are little, think of them

[34:36] as little packages of consciousness.

[34:38] They're they're little little particles

[34:41] of awareness. And if we disperse our

[34:44] awareness to the outer world all the

[34:46] time, that's who is controlling us.

[34:50] That's what's controlling me. That's my

[34:52] reference point. And the problem is, you

[34:55] know, people are fickle. They come, they

[34:57] go, they like, they don't like, they

[34:59] here, they're gone. You know, it's like

[35:01] it sets us into this disposition of

[35:04] constantly being in fear. Whether we

[35:07] would call it fear or not, we are

[35:08] uncomfortable. So we have to pull our

[35:11] attention and gather these photons back

[35:14] into the core of our own being so that

[35:16] we can feel full and whole and we can

[35:20] feel a sense of self. And when we do we

[35:25] are we calm down the nervous system. We

[35:28] activate the filtering and cleansing and

[35:31] digesting and healing and creative

[35:32] genius. And it starts with the energy.

[35:36] So, like if somebody was standing in the

[35:38] doorway of the room that everyone is in

[35:41] right now, that triggers you, that trips

[35:43] your trigger, upsets you, like, "Oh my

[35:45] god, every time you show up, it's here

[35:46] we go again." And they're standing right

[35:48] there. What happens in that moment is

[35:50] you throw all your photons onto them.

[35:53] You don't even know you're doing it, but

[35:54] you're giving them your power. And if

[35:56] you keep looking at them in the doorway,

[35:58] but you call that right back home,

[36:00] you're going to feel very differently.

[36:02] You can still talk with them. It's not

[36:04] like you're saying, "Hey, go away."

[36:05] You're saying, "Well, I'm going to just

[36:07] sit right back in here and have this

[36:09] conversation with you." Instead of being

[36:11] out here in the space on hypervigilant

[36:13] alert to figure out how I'm going to

[36:15] protect myself with the next thing that

[36:17] you do, I come home. And when I do, I I

[36:21] regulate my nervous system differently.

[36:22] I change the chemistry in my body. I

[36:25] generate a sense of self that allows me

[36:27] to think differently. It allows me to be

[36:29] fulfilled and anchored and less

[36:31] pessimistic because pessimism is just a

[36:34] form of protection. When we're thinking

[36:35] negative, we were just protecting

[36:37] ourselves. Sarcasm, it's just

[36:38] protection. Uh worst case scenario,

[36:41] glass half empty, it's all protection.

[36:43] We're protecting ourselves. So, if we're

[36:45] enhancing the protective personality

[36:47] every day, we have to turn that around.

[36:49] We can't do that. We're not built for

[36:51] that. We're not built to run from a bear

[36:53] 24 hours a day for 50 years. you know

[36:56] something's got to give. So,

[36:59] >> so by bringing your attention back onto

[37:02] self, there's a there's a a a statement

[37:04] in or a word for it in Sanskrit. Ancient

[37:08] Eastern Indian tradition would refer to

[37:10] this as prahara and it means bring your

[37:13] energy back onto the self. Stay on the

[37:15] self. Stay on you. Stay on you. Because

[37:18] it brings you into the present. It

[37:20] brings you into alpha frequency. Your

[37:22] this disposition changes and you feel

[37:24] met. You feel held. You feel seen and

[37:27] feel known. And that's that's what this

[37:30] negative person is so pessimistic about.

[37:33] They don't feel felt. They don't feel

[37:35] known. They don't feel seen. They don't

[37:37] feel heard. And they're angry about it.

[37:39] And they're just daring the world to,

[37:41] you know, love them. And

[37:44] >> you know, problem is it might not. And

[37:47] so you have to. And when you do, you

[37:50] actually birth yourself into a reality

[37:53] where that love is present all the time

[37:56] and and then your mind changes. So there

[37:58] are ways to change it. If someone is

[38:01] addicted to negative thinking and it is

[38:03] an addiction, there is a chemistry that

[38:05] we become addicted to. If they are

[38:07] addicted to that and they identify as

[38:09] that person, if they start learning

[38:12] these techniques of pride of bringing

[38:15] your consciousness into the core of the

[38:17] body and I write about that in in two

[38:19] books, the energy codes and the anatomy

[38:21] of awakening that that there are so many

[38:23] techniques and so many ways to anchor

[38:26] ourselves back in and on upon ourselves

[38:30] which lets a system that was meant to be

[38:33] happen. It lets it unfold the way it was

[38:36] designed to unfold and to work. And the

[38:39] next thing you know, we're sort of like

[38:41] shocked that we're thinking more

[38:43] positively. We're not driving it and

[38:45] trying to think positive and denying all

[38:47] our negative thoughts. Please do not go

[38:49] about it that way because that will

[38:50] never work and it will just suppress you

[38:52] and create more addictions of all sorts

[38:54] of other natures because that energy has

[38:56] to go somewhere.

[38:57] >> But here's what I would suggest. Love

[39:00] the one who's negative. Love the part of

[39:02] you that's being pessimistic. right now

[39:04] with compassion. Just love it. Like, oh

[39:06] my god, I see you trying to protect me.

[39:08] You don't really have to. Thank you.

[39:10] Okay, just love it. Just love it. And

[39:12] take a breath. And there are all sorts

[39:14] of embodiment techniques that I teach

[39:15] that show your nervous system how to

[39:18] recognize that you're that you're doing

[39:19] this and to anchor it and to sustain it,

[39:22] to memorize it so that it becomes

[39:24] cellular memory uh again. But but a real

[39:28] good rule of thumb is bring your pride,

[39:31] bring your energy back on yourself. Stay

[39:33] on the self. Just stay on the self. Stay

[39:35] on the self. And then when you notice a

[39:39] negative thought, love the one who's so

[39:41] pessimistic.

[39:42] >> When you notice a fearful thought, love

[39:44] the one who's afraid.

[39:47] >> When you are pretty convinced that it's

[39:49] just unfair, you know, love the one

[39:52] who's, you know, out on a campaign and

[39:54] picketing life, you know, just start

[39:58] doing that because the loving frequency

[40:00] turns the whole thing around. It it's a

[40:03] vibrational frequency that neutralizes

[40:05] everything. I call love the universal

[40:08] solvent

[40:08] >> that it literally nothing can survive in

[40:10] the face of love. Nothing. It just wins.

[40:13] It just wins. So why not enlist the

[40:16] winner? Like the one that's going to

[40:18] make the goal every time. Why not get

[40:20] that one on your team?

[40:21] >> So So we do, you know, the love. We

[40:25] don't realize, Michelle, we don't

[40:26] realize that we can love on command. We

[40:28] don't think we can. We don't think we

[40:30] can. M

[40:32] >> and so for the person who's thinking

[40:33] that like I can't love this, you know,

[40:35] it's just awful. It feels terrible. I

[40:37] can't find love in that moment. Get

[40:39] this. You're made of love. You're made

[40:41] of it.

[40:42] >> You're made of love.

[40:44] >> The unified field compresses and

[40:45] compresses and compresses and compresses

[40:47] all the way to physical form. And that's

[40:49] you in this body. If you decompress and

[40:51] go back, the very last thing that will

[40:54] happen is love. This first compression

[40:57] is love. So everything that comes after

[40:59] that is built on love. So you're made of

[41:01] love. So being present with yourself is

[41:06] loving yourself. So it doesn't have to

[41:08] feel like Hollywood movie type love or

[41:10] Valentine's Day love or romantic. Oh my

[41:13] gosh, that feels so, you know, whatever.

[41:14] It's not love. That's something else.

[41:16] But the love I'm talking about is not a

[41:19] sentiment. It's presence. When you bring

[41:22] your conscious loving your conscious

[41:24] presence to onto yourself, love is

[41:27] there. Love is right there. You don't

[41:30] have it doesn't have to you don't have

[41:31] to conjure up this like oo love you know

[41:35] the way that we're thinking of it it's

[41:37] not that it's presence so when you're

[41:40] present with yourself love is you do

[41:42] love yourself you are loving yourself

[41:44] that is self-love so so as so as not to

[41:48] make it complicated to think well I

[41:50] can't self-love so I'm doomed you know

[41:52] I'm duped I can't do this stuff you

[41:54] bring your attention back onto you

[41:56] prahara call it back on to you and and

[41:59] start loving the part of you

[42:00] compassionately that is so, you know,

[42:03] bent on being negative.

[42:06] >> It's just protection. It's like, "Thank

[42:07] you for the protection. I don't need it

[42:09] right now. I'm good. Thanks. Thank you

[42:11] so much." And when you do that, things

[42:13] start to shift energetically

[42:16] >> in a tremendous way. It changes

[42:18] everything.

[42:19] >> It's so simple. The mind would never

[42:20] believe it. You know, the mind would

[42:21] never think of it.

[42:22] >> And it's not being selfish. That's not

[42:24] what you're saying. You're calling

[42:25] photons. You're calling your energy

[42:27] back.

[42:28] >> Yeah. It isn't selfish. It's it's being

[42:31] personally responsible. You're

[42:33] responsible for the space that you chose

[42:35] to come and occupy. You're responsible

[42:37] for taking that energy and evolving it

[42:40] into leaving it better than you found

[42:41] it. That that's what you said. I'm going

[42:43] in and I'm going to do my part. So, I'm

[42:46] going in. I came in as a super shy

[42:47] person and a super contracted individual

[42:50] who's like, "Oh my god." And uh and my

[42:54] job is to transmute that because it's

[42:58] not real. It's not true. It's just who I

[43:00] thought I was. It's how I was being

[43:02] because of energies that I experienced

[43:04] in the womb. Probably energies from past

[43:06] life. You know, who knows? I came in.

[43:09] How do I know to overcome shyness?

[43:10] Because that's how I landed. And it

[43:12] wasn't comfortable.

[43:14] >> So you're uncomfortable. You're supposed

[43:16] to do something about it. And you're not

[43:18] being selfish. You're actually waking up

[43:20] to what you're responsible for doing

[43:23] something about. And it's so important

[43:25] to realize that the entire cosmos is

[43:29] behind you. It's in your favor. It wants

[43:32] this to happen. You're not alone in

[43:34] this. It's huge the energy that's trying

[43:37] to come through you and into the world.

[43:40] But when we shut it down, it stops.

[43:43] >> So when we open up, it can flow through.

[43:46] So this support is pouring through us. I

[43:49] call it this this continuum. This

[43:51] through line from the unified field all

[43:53] the way to here is this divine

[43:56] continuum. I call it that in in the

[43:58] anatomy of awakening book. And the

[44:00] reason I point that out is that it shows

[44:02] you how to let that come barreling

[44:04] through you. And all you're doing is

[44:06] steering it like a giant fire hose. It's

[44:09] the power and the purpose and the

[44:10] passion that we seek. So when we open,

[44:13] we literally allow it to pour through

[44:15] and we can feel it when it's moving.

[44:17] When it's pouring through us, we feel

[44:19] better. We feel good because that's how

[44:21] we're designed to be functioning.

[44:24] >> We we kink our own hose. It's like the

[44:26] fire hose. We kink it.

[44:27] >> Yeah, you bet.

[44:28] >> Kick it. Woo.

[44:30] >> And we might not even remember doing

[44:32] that, of course. You know, like you say,

[44:34] zero to six. It It might be like two

[44:36] lifetimes ago. Who knows? You know, it I

[44:39] actually think that we are eternal. um

[44:42] because we're made of energy and energy

[44:43] cannot be created or destroyed. So, you

[44:46] know, consciousness is isn't going

[44:48] anywhere. It's it's what's the

[44:51] foundation of this whole reality that

[44:52] we're that we're living in. And so if

[44:55] I'm an eternal being, then chances are

[44:59] I've gone in and out of this existence

[45:01] more than once. And I'm keep coming back

[45:03] until I get it right, until I get good

[45:06] at doing this thing, at being free no

[45:09] matter what my circumstances are because

[45:12] it's just an illusion, you know. So if

[45:14] we could look at it that way, uh it

[45:16] becomes a game that is that is fun to

[45:19] play, you know, and we're destined to

[45:21] win it. So that makes it even more fun

[45:23] if we know that, you know, our destiny

[45:25] is to succeed. That's even if it's only

[45:28] in the last five minutes of your life,

[45:30] you're going to get this thing that I'm

[45:31] talking about. You're going to get it.

[45:33] So my job is, you know, what I try to do

[45:36] is to allow people to find ways to get

[45:39] it now so that we can live our lives in

[45:41] this disposition in this come from of

[45:45] you know, I've got this. It's this is

[45:47] fine. I I just haven't been using my

[45:50] faculties properly. So it renders me

[45:52] feeling incapable, you know. But okay,

[45:56] if we're trying to drive our car sitting

[45:58] on the hood [laughter]

[46:03] kind of hard, but if we climb down in

[46:06] the car and sit down, oh, we got the

[46:08] dashboard, we got the pedals, steering

[46:09] wheel, shift, we have that, but it's

[46:12] deep in our core. It's not out there on

[46:15] other. It's you know so so this practice

[46:18] of prahara is basically subject object

[46:22] subject so am I putting my attention on

[46:24] self subject or on other object if I'm

[46:28] on object I'm in pain if I'm in pain I'm

[46:31] on object if I'm on object and in pain

[46:34] and I come on to subject my pain's going

[46:37] to change it's going to shift it will

[46:39] shift because now I'm in the driver's

[46:41] seat of the car

[46:42] >> and then what I do is teach people how

[46:44] to read you know what's going on in the

[46:45] body. But I guarantee when you have a

[46:47] stomach ache, it's talking to you. When

[46:49] you have a sore throat or your tension

[46:51] in your shoulders or chronic headaches,

[46:53] it's it's a language of the soul that is

[46:55] trying to offer it up to us and say,

[46:59] "Uh, got it. Got it. I'm a I'm I'm

[47:03] creating imbalance. I'm kinking the

[47:05] hose. I'm not working with this the way

[47:07] it's designed to be worked with." I'm

[47:10] afraid to ask you this, but I want to

[47:11] put myself out there as as a guinea pig

[47:14] [laughter] because I'm a female and we

[47:16] have mostly a female audience. We

[47:18] definitely have some men as well, but I

[47:20] know I'm not alone as I sit here and I'm

[47:21] like, I want to ask you a question.

[47:23] Okay. What do you say about bladders?

[47:28] >> You know, I've gone to several doctors

[47:30] for 20 years over my bladder.

[47:32] >> Yeah.

[47:32] >> And I've I can't take the 3D reality of

[47:36] you just need to have surgery. I'm like,

[47:38] "No."

[47:39] >> Like, I no, I don't want I know. Like

[47:42] you say, when I put my attention on

[47:45] myself,

[47:46] >> that's not the way. That's There is

[47:48] Excuse me. There's another way.

[47:50] >> Yeah.

[47:51] >> And it's [clears throat] like, where's

[47:52] where's that instruction manual?

[47:54] >> Yeah. Yeah. Well, it we're we're made of

[47:57] the instruction manual, but we haven't

[47:59] been you trained how to use it. That's

[48:01] the problem. Okay. Yeah.

[48:02] >> So, the body is the instruction manual.

[48:05] The body is the instruction manual. So

[48:07] >> well that

[48:10] >> and and I'll I'll explain a little bit

[48:11] more about that. Um first of all there's

[48:14] a psychosspiritual

[48:16] >> um meaning energetic mind energetic

[48:21] relationship. Bladder relates to um like

[48:26] chronic bladder infections and that kind

[48:28] of thing are related

[48:29] >> leakage like weak. It's just weak

[48:31] >> weak bladder. Okay.

[48:32] >> Weak. It's just Yeah. All that stuff.

[48:34] >> Okay. And so if the bladder is weak, um

[48:38] there is a actually a uh an exhausted

[48:43] frustration

[48:45] that is happening. If somebody has blad

[48:47] chronic bladder infections and that kind

[48:48] of thing, it's frustration. If the

[48:51] bladder becomes weakened, it's it's that

[48:53] I've been frustrated for so long, I'm

[48:55] now tired. I'm now exhausted and the

[48:57] energies aren't robust and you know and

[49:01] uh and ignited and self-healing and that

[49:05] innate intelligence isn't doing its

[49:07] thing there because of something. So

[49:09] it's related to something else. What am

[49:10] I frustrated about? That's that's to

[49:13] explore. But yes, there's a way there's

[49:16] a way to um work with it and let the

[49:21] body be the users's manual in a way that

[49:25] we have never been taught. We have never

[49:27] been put to we've never put them

[49:29] together. And I I taught about this in

[49:31] both of my books, the energy codes and

[49:32] the anatomy of awakening. And I say that

[49:34] those titles again because people can

[49:36] learn how to do this, okay? I'm going to

[49:37] go through it and I don't want you to

[49:39] think that you should know how to do

[49:40] that now because it's a little more

[49:42] involved than we can do in a sure,

[49:44] >> you know, in a conversation is so short.

[49:46] But but here's what you do.

[49:48] >> You ask not why is this happening or

[49:52] what am I doing wrong? You don't ask why

[49:55] or what. You ask where. And the key is

[50:00] where in my body could I build the

[50:03] circuitry to turn on the healing energy

[50:07] again for my bladder. It might not be

[50:11] located in the area of the bladder. It

[50:14] might be somewhere else, but something

[50:16] is blocking the energy that is keeping

[50:19] the bladder from being fed with this

[50:22] rejuvenating, enlivening, healing

[50:26] energy. Okay. So, I have I have an image

[50:29] that might help us. Let me see if I can

[50:31] find it. Okay, I use these when I'm

[50:32] teaching and I'm I'm not in my I

[50:35] normally have this big studio and a big

[50:37] images on the back wall and all kinds of

[50:38] fun things, but now I have these little

[50:40] posters. Okay, [laughter] I'm I'm at my

[50:43] summer home and I'm here for another

[50:45] week and so here we are with our little

[50:46] posters and they work just fine. So,

[50:48] [laughter] so I'm assuming everyone is

[50:51] watching this, but if someone's just

[50:53] listening to it, I'm going to describe

[50:54] what I'm holding up here as well. So we

[50:56] have one image here that shows a body

[50:59] and energy pouring in from above the

[51:01] head of this body goes right through the

[51:03] body and hits the earth. That energy

[51:05] then turns and is reflected back up and

[51:08] rises back up through that body and

[51:10] comes out the crown and and cycles

[51:13] around the outside of the body and comes

[51:15] back in at the tailbone at the base of

[51:17] the spine and rises up again and it

[51:19] keeps recycling out the crown and around

[51:22] the outside etc etc. So this is how our

[51:25] bioenergetics is designed to be flowing.

[51:28] Energy again coming in from overhead

[51:30] running right down from head to toe into

[51:32] the earth hits the earth turns is

[51:34] reflected back up and recycles and

[51:37] recycles and recycles and that's how

[51:39] it's supposed to work. And if it's

[51:40] working that way our bladders work just

[51:42] fine. Okay? So so does our heads and so

[51:44] does our digestion and all of the all

[51:47] and so does our respiratory system etc.

[51:49] Now, that's how it's supposed to

[51:50] function. And and now I'm going to show

[51:52] how it's functioning for most of us.

[51:55] Okay?

[51:56] >> Energyy's coming in. It's coming through

[51:58] the body. Same way down through the

[52:00] feet, hitting the earth, rising back up

[52:02] again, coming up and cycling around and

[52:05] around and around. But as it's coming in

[52:09] and hitting the earth and rising back up

[52:11] again, we have shut ourselves down in

[52:14] certain ways. We've decided I'm not

[52:17] enough. We've decided I don't belong.

[52:19] We've decided I'm I am not heard. We've

[52:22] decided I don't have the power to do the

[52:24] things that I want to do or to change

[52:25] the things that I want to etc. And so

[52:28] we've shut down. Now that rising energy

[52:30] has to go around the areas that we have

[52:33] shut down. And that rising up and around

[52:37] and around and around creates a wobble

[52:39] in the rising energy. That wobble

[52:42] creates a distortion in the field. Now

[52:45] this individual is standing here looking

[52:48] through a field of energy that is

[52:50] distorted. Basically we see a distorted

[52:53] reality. We hear things that affirm our

[52:56] incapacity to be enough. We hear things.

[53:00] We see things. We draw from things the

[53:03] um the affirmation, the confirmation,

[53:06] the validation of all of the things that

[53:08] we have come to believe about ourselves.

[53:11] And that's what these shutdowns

[53:13] represent. Okay. So, so now all I can

[53:17] see is the truth of what I've already

[53:19] decided is true about me. That's what

[53:22] keeps getting reflected back to me

[53:24] because I've created a field, an

[53:26] immediate environment that is telling me

[53:29] um that I'm right. So, if I believe I'm

[53:32] inadequate, it will have to show up to

[53:35] prove that it's true because the

[53:37] subconscious will do that. It will

[53:40] create the reality that we are

[53:41] imprinting upon it. Okay? So when I when

[53:44] I say here's the way to start changing

[53:47] this when we ask where in the body could

[53:50] I build the circuits I'm basically

[53:52] saying how can I go from this distorted

[53:54] version to this perfected version

[53:56] because it's in this perfected state

[53:58] that bladders work properly or colons

[54:01] work properly or you know heads feel

[54:03] good and you know respiration we don't

[54:05] stay sick when we get sick and on and on

[54:07] and on. Okay. So where in the body and

[54:10] what it's going to do is it's going to

[54:12] attract you to here or to here or to

[54:14] here. It's going to it's going to show

[54:15] you which one is in priority which is

[54:17] the first one because ultimately we have

[54:19] to get all these things dissolved so

[54:21] that we're moving straight through this.

[54:23] We're just metabolizing it and drawing

[54:25] the energy right up through it instead

[54:27] of going around it anymore. So I'm going

[54:29] to show you a little practice that will

[54:31] allow you to do that. Okay? Mhm.

[54:33] >> So, so when I say where in my body could

[54:36] I build the circuits, that's what I'm

[54:37] asking for. That's why I pulled up this

[54:39] image to show you this stuff is that

[54:41] here's what you're asking in this

[54:42] moment. Which one of these do I need to

[54:45] address first

[54:46] >> so that my bladder can start receiving

[54:48] healing energy and I can not be

[54:50] frustrated and I can start allowing

[54:54] myself to start expressing the way I'm

[54:56] designed to be expressing in this life?

[54:58] >> So, are you saying there are very

[55:00] specific blocks to look for?

[55:03] for any for any um ailment. Let's say

[55:06] there are five is this this is the book

[55:08] right the five hidden codes or there is

[55:10] five

[55:11] >> the the the

[55:14] patterns are innumerable.

[55:17] >> Okay. Okay.

[55:18] >> But what you're doing is learning how to

[55:20] work with whatever it is wherever it is

[55:23] >> whatever the topics are whatever the

[55:25] circumstances are. Okay. So, so many

[55:28] combinations of blockages are going to

[55:32] um create different combinations of

[55:34] symptoms. So, someone might have um an

[55:38] inability to be um intimate in certain

[55:42] situations like like vulnerable and

[55:44] transparent. Um you don't have that

[55:47] going on because here you are. You're

[55:48] like, "Okay, here's the deal. All right,

[55:51] do me like fix this." Okay. So, so but

[55:54] you know there are many many things that

[55:56] an individual

[55:58] charact characterizes themselves around

[56:00] that patterns that develop and and have

[56:03] started to run our lives and our bodies

[56:06] that that are all a byproduct of this

[56:09] kind of stuff. This is you were two

[56:11] years old, you were one-year-old, you

[56:12] were 5 years old, you know, whatever,

[56:13] whatever. Lots of different orientations

[56:15] here. This is innumerable. It could be

[56:17] over here, it could be over here, there

[56:18] could be three down here and nothing up

[56:20] here. It's it's all has to do with our

[56:22] personal evolution and our path and our

[56:25] history on and on. Why we came and what

[56:28] we're doing here, what we're really

[56:31] about. And people need to have a bigger

[56:33] picture about who they are and what

[56:35] we're here doing if they want to make

[56:37] this job easier. If they want to make

[56:39] healing easier, the more we learn about

[56:41] why we come and what's really going on,

[56:43] the easier it gets. It's like, oh,

[56:45] that's no big deal. But when I don't

[56:46] know who I am and all I know is that I

[56:48] have, you know, this bladder symptom.

[56:51] Um, not saying that you don't know

[56:52] what's going on because you definitely

[56:53] do. But if someone doesn't and they're

[56:56] just learning these things, just getting

[56:57] started, it it can feel like this is my

[57:00] whole world. It's like got a hold of me.

[57:02] It's like everything and it's so

[57:04] frustrating. I'm so worried and blah

[57:05] blah blah. But when we start to open up

[57:07] and learn more and become more aware and

[57:10] more awake to more of the truth of who

[57:12] we are, this thing is like a little

[57:13] thing compared to all the power that we

[57:16] have to do something about it. And so

[57:18] that's why we're here having this

[57:19] conversation and doing these kinds of

[57:21] things. So, so back to the project, you

[57:24] ask where in my body could I build the

[57:27] circuitry for this energy to flow more

[57:30] freely like this today and tomorrow it

[57:34] might take me somewhere else and the

[57:35] next day it might take me somewhere

[57:36] else. But if I do it enough days in a

[57:38] row, I get enough of this happening

[57:41] instead of this that pretty soon that

[57:43] healing energy is arriving back at the

[57:47] pelvic floor, the pelvic bowl and the

[57:50] bladder and the kidneys and the colon

[57:51] and the adrenals and ovaries and the

[57:54] uterus and all the all the all. It

[57:56] starts

[57:58] >> doing its thing again because we freed

[57:59] it up and allowed it to invited it to do

[58:02] what it knows how to do again. We're

[58:04] getting out of the way physically. We're

[58:06] literally doing something with it. We're

[58:08] not just saying, "Oh, I forgive whatever

[58:09] I'm frustrated with." And you know, that

[58:11] is helpful, but sometimes it's not

[58:14] enough fast enough for the person to

[58:16] feel the effects enough to stick with

[58:18] it. And so by doing this, I find that it

[58:22] does start to create a shift for people

[58:26] so much more rapidly that they get it.

[58:29] And not only does it address the

[58:30] bladder, it addresses all sorts of other

[58:33] things along the way because the more

[58:36] this energy can rise up through the

[58:38] body, the more it starts dissolving some

[58:40] of these things on its own

[58:41] >> because now we've turned up, we've to

[58:44] opened the valve and it's more potent

[58:45] and more powerful. So we do become

[58:48] self-healing again and we start healing

[58:50] things we didn't even know were part of

[58:52] the issue, part of the problem if you

[58:53] will.

[58:54] >> So that's beautiful. So now what to do?

[58:56] Lastly, I'll just say what to do. So you

[58:58] say where in the body should can I build

[58:59] the circuits to let this energy flow

[59:02] again?

[59:03] >> Um let's say it takes you to your

[59:05] throat.

[59:06] >> Like your mind just went to your throat

[59:08] and you're like no no no you got it

[59:09] wrong. It's in my bladder. This is the

[59:10] problem's in my bladder. And and I want

[59:12] to I want to warn you that that's going

[59:15] to happen. It's going to take you to

[59:16] your heart or to your throat or to your

[59:18] gut or something because the bladder is

[59:20] the symptom.

[59:21] >> The bladder is not the cause.

[59:23] >> The weak bladder is a symptom. And what

[59:25] you're asking is take me to the cause.

[59:27] Take me to the cause. Take me to the

[59:29] cause so that the symptom can improve.

[59:31] If I address the cause, the symptom will

[59:32] get better. So it might take you here.

[59:35] The next day it'll take you here and

[59:36] here. So here's what you do. If your

[59:38] attention goes to your throat when you

[59:39] ask a question like where in the my body

[59:41] could I build the circuits to heal my

[59:43] bladder situation. And it takes you to

[59:46] your throat. Here's what I want you to

[59:46] do. I'm just using this as an example.

[59:48] You bring all of your 100% loving

[59:51] attention to your throat. all of your

[59:53] sincerity, all of your desire to heal,

[59:56] all of your goodness, all of your uh

[59:59] intimidation, all of your authenticity,

[1:00:02] all of your transparency. All of you

[1:00:04] bring all of you to wherever your mind

[1:00:07] has gone and sit there and be there and

[1:00:10] breathe. And what you're doing is

[1:00:12] bringing love into an area that has

[1:00:16] created a blockage in the throat area.

[1:00:21] Okay. Mhm.

[1:00:22] >> And it's creating a distortion and a

[1:00:25] wobble and a weakening of the energy

[1:00:26] that could eventually be flow flowing to

[1:00:28] your bladder. So, I'm going here. I'm

[1:00:30] going to I'm letting the body show the

[1:00:32] mind what I need to do to disentangle

[1:00:36] this contorted distorted pattern that

[1:00:39] I've generated over the years because I

[1:00:42] didn't know and I didn't know. I was 0

[1:00:45] to six and so you know what am I

[1:00:47] supposed to do here? So, here's what

[1:00:49] you're supposed to do. You're supposed

[1:00:50] to begin now. Begin again. Just start

[1:00:53] over. Because you're a timeless being.

[1:00:55] It's going to kick in any moment that

[1:00:57] you begin working with this. And when

[1:00:59] you bring these little photons into this

[1:01:01] area, it starts to it starts to generate

[1:01:04] more consciousness in an area that was

[1:01:06] shut down and has been asleep and we're

[1:01:09] waking it up. And when we do, we sit in

[1:01:12] there and love. And and if you sit there

[1:01:14] for a minute, and I don't mean one

[1:01:16] minute, but if you just sit there with

[1:01:18] it,

[1:01:19] >> pretty soon it's going to feel like, oh,

[1:01:22] like, oh, oh. It's going to feel like

[1:01:26] you sit down inside yourself. It's going

[1:01:28] to feel like welcomed or seen or heard

[1:01:31] or felt or loved. It's going to have

[1:01:33] that same kind of sensation. And when

[1:01:35] that happens, you breathe with it. You

[1:01:38] breathe with it and you celebrate that

[1:01:40] you broke through, that you broke in,

[1:01:42] that you dropped in. So, this isn't just

[1:01:44] surrender. It's surrender from trying to

[1:01:46] fix it in the outer world. You're

[1:01:47] surrendering. Okay, but now I'm going to

[1:01:50] do something in here that's actually

[1:01:52] going to have an effect, a direct effect

[1:01:54] and a direct impact on my situation. And

[1:01:57] so then you start breathing up and down

[1:02:00] that central channel. You just see what

[1:02:02] do I want to exhale this way or and all

[1:02:04] of a sudden you're going to be exhaling

[1:02:05] out of the crown of your head and it's

[1:02:07] going to feel like what you know you

[1:02:08] breathe through your nose. What are you

[1:02:09] talking about? Breathe out the crown of

[1:02:10] my head. Just do it. Just just trace

[1:02:13] your breath like breathe breathe up

[1:02:16] here. Exhale inhale exhale into the

[1:02:20] earth. Inhale back up. Exhale at the

[1:02:23] top. And start carving this because when

[1:02:25] you carve this pathway, it starts to

[1:02:28] stabilize this energy field. And so it

[1:02:31] starts to allow the good news of you

[1:02:33] coming home to yourself uh to be spread

[1:02:37] throughout your whole body which

[1:02:39] represents multiple layers of your own

[1:02:41] consciousness and all of your parts

[1:02:43] start working together your mind your

[1:02:45] body your breath all the parts of your

[1:02:47] mind they start to integrate so it's a

[1:02:49] bigger picture than that but I'm just

[1:02:51] trying to like not

[1:02:53] >> because it can make a difference in the

[1:02:56] most magnificent of ways not only for

[1:02:59] your bladder, but also for all the other

[1:03:02] things that aren't receiving the energy

[1:03:04] that they need because of these, you

[1:03:06] know, shutdowns and blockages and the

[1:03:08] distortions that we're trying to make do

[1:03:11] with um best we can. And in the when

[1:03:15] that starts to happen, lastly, I'll just

[1:03:18] say you will become aware of your

[1:03:22] tendency to be frustrated and it will

[1:03:25] start to

[1:03:27] release. You don't have to fix

[1:03:29] everything. You don't have to be the one

[1:03:31] that holds it all together. You don't

[1:03:32] have to do the do and be the one and all

[1:03:34] of that. In in fact, when we drop in and

[1:03:38] let this happen, all those things get

[1:03:40] taken care of, but we're not

[1:03:42] specifically trying to do that. It's

[1:03:44] like your cup fills up and it runs over

[1:03:47] and the and what's pouring over is what

[1:03:50] does all that helping and fixing and

[1:03:52] nurturing, but you're not abandoning

[1:03:56] yourself in the meantime. So the

[1:03:58] frustration fades, you know, etc. So

[1:04:02] chronic bladder infections are, you

[1:04:05] know, it's sort of like I don't really

[1:04:06] like to say it this way, but it's kind

[1:04:08] of the truth of it. It's like somebody's

[1:04:10] pissed off.

[1:04:12] What's going on? You're just pissed off

[1:04:13] and it's inflamed. It's irritated. It's

[1:04:16] a reflection of what's going on in our

[1:04:18] consciousness. So,

[1:04:20] so we want to bring it together in this

[1:04:23] way uh so that our system can start to

[1:04:26] really participate with the truth of who

[1:04:29] we are, the magnificence of our being.

[1:04:31] >> Thank you. It was beautifully said. It's

[1:04:33] funny. I love I don't really ever go to

[1:04:35] the doctor and when I do because they

[1:04:37] say this 3D stuff like just do a

[1:04:40] surgery. I'm like no, that's not what I

[1:04:42] want. Let me go back to the energetics.

[1:04:44] So, I walked out of an appointment the

[1:04:46] other day and I don't go on a regular

[1:04:48] basis. cuz I just hadn't been in years.

[1:04:50] And I said, "Time to do deeper chakra

[1:04:52] work." I I used to teach chakras. So

[1:04:54] >> yeah,

[1:04:55] >> that was what that's what I left with

[1:04:57] like five five days ago. So that was my

[1:05:00] thought. I really need to look deeper at

[1:05:02] my first three chakras.

[1:05:04] >> Yeah.

[1:05:04] >> What are based on and and this is our

[1:05:06] last question, but chakras compared to

[1:05:08] the work you're doing energetically,

[1:05:10] what's the difference?

[1:05:11] >> Oh, working with the chakras.

[1:05:13] >> Yeah,

[1:05:13] >> working with the chakras definitely. Um,

[1:05:16] it's definitely that levels of

[1:05:18] consciousness. See, I work with the

[1:05:19] chakras. I I reference them as the

[1:05:21] levels of consciousness. Um, because

[1:05:24] they each represent one.

[1:05:26] >> This root chakra represent, you can see

[1:05:28] these that these are the chakras. They

[1:05:31] represent a level of consciousness. This

[1:05:32] is my belongingness.

[1:05:34] >> This is my ability to still belong when

[1:05:36] I'm engaging with other people. If I

[1:05:39] lose a sense of self when I engage with

[1:05:41] other people, I it's because this second

[1:05:43] chakra isn't doing quite what it should

[1:05:46] be doing. And so that relationship right

[1:05:48] there is all bladder. Okay. So then we

[1:05:51] move up into this next one, a sense of

[1:05:52] self, personal identity. Um you know

[1:05:55] when we come onto subject onto self

[1:05:58] instead of being dispersed all of these

[1:06:00] get enhanced they all start receiving.

[1:06:02] Now there's also another thing called

[1:06:04] moola and it's and it's contracting the

[1:06:08] muscles in the pelvic floor. It's sort

[1:06:09] of like a kegle exercise and working

[1:06:11] with that while you're central channel

[1:06:13] breathing is a beautiful way to also

[1:06:16] keep establishing and establishing more

[1:06:19] photon density in my core in the bladder

[1:06:22] area, you know, in the pelvic floor. And

[1:06:25] and it's a great it's a great way. So if

[1:06:28] if if you were going to the bathroom,

[1:06:29] everybody who's watching, if you were

[1:06:31] going to the bathroom and you had to

[1:06:32] stop the stream instantly, you would

[1:06:34] squeeze certain muscles to do that

[1:06:36] >> right there. Just squeeze them. That

[1:06:38] that's the mulab. It means root lock. It

[1:06:41] means you're pulling those energies

[1:06:42] right into the root chakra and I'm not

[1:06:44] leaving home without it kind of thing.

[1:06:46] [laughter]

[1:06:47] And so when we do that, it starts to

[1:06:49] bring this healing vital force right

[1:06:52] into that space. And if you do that

[1:06:53] central channel breathing uh which you

[1:06:55] inhale from the earth right through

[1:06:57] mulaban to keep it contracted and

[1:06:59] breathe up into your belly and then

[1:07:00] exhale right up that channel and out the

[1:07:02] top of your head and then inhale from

[1:07:04] overhead right down into the belly and

[1:07:07] squeeze that mulab and exhale right down

[1:07:10] into the earth. You're going to enliven

[1:07:12] and start that whole toric field

[1:07:15] movement um of the bioenergetics the way

[1:07:18] that it's supposed to be moving. And

[1:07:20] it's really planting your feet in the

[1:07:23] soil and allowing you to remember who

[1:07:25] you are no matter what your your your

[1:07:28] good intentions or your life

[1:07:29] circumstances are uh drawing forth, you

[1:07:33] know, from you. So,

[1:07:35] >> thank you.

[1:07:36] >> I love love love to work with these.

[1:07:38] I've seen so many people come off of

[1:07:40] medications and heal from failed

[1:07:42] surgeries and do all sorts of things

[1:07:45] with their lives that they were never

[1:07:47] able to do before and they just didn't

[1:07:49] know. We all have exactly what we need

[1:07:51] to heal and to flourish, but if we

[1:07:54] haven't been shown how to use this

[1:07:55] stuff, it we might as well not have it,

[1:07:58] right?

[1:07:58] >> I love that you said that our body is

[1:08:00] the instruction manual. And I'm just

[1:08:02] thinking if we practice some of the

[1:08:04] things that you are suggesting,

[1:08:06] everything's going to heal

[1:08:08] >> things.

[1:08:09] Yeah. It's not just the one thing we're

[1:08:11] thinking of. It's like the whole body

[1:08:12] starts

[1:08:15] >> healing.

[1:08:15] >> Enlivening.

[1:08:16] >> Yeah. And enlivening like Yeah. It's

[1:08:18] just wow.

[1:08:19] >> Yeah, it's right here.

[1:08:21] >> Amazing. Thank you

[1:08:22] >> so much for the work that you're putting

[1:08:24] out in the world.

[1:08:24] >> Oh my goodness. It's my pleasure. It's

[1:08:26] my joy.

[1:08:27] >> I can tell. [laughter] It's very

[1:08:29] obvious.

[1:08:30] >> I love it. Where would people find you

[1:08:32] and and learn more about you?

[1:08:34] >> Uh, sure. We're easy to find. Mortar

[1:08:36] Institute, but it's the website is

[1:08:38] drummortar.com.

[1:08:39] dr r sue m o rt.com.

[1:08:44] And on the website there are all sorts

[1:08:45] of courses that I teach online and in

[1:08:47] person and uh all of the all uh the two

[1:08:51] books I mentioned can be bought

[1:08:52] everywhere that books are sold. Uh the

[1:08:54] anatomy of awakening made the New York

[1:08:56] Times bestseller so bestseller list. So

[1:08:59] it's you know lots it's there. It's very

[1:09:01] very accessible and the energy codes is

[1:09:03] the other one. We're also on social

[1:09:05] media YouTube channels that talk about a

[1:09:07] lot of these things as well if you want

[1:09:08] to get your feet wet that way. But we

[1:09:10] also have a team of people at the

[1:09:12] institute that are standing by to answer

[1:09:14] your questions and super friendly group

[1:09:17] of people, a kind community. It's

[1:09:19] amazing the people that have come out of

[1:09:20] the four corners of the earth to come

[1:09:22] together in this community and I just

[1:09:25] feel so blessed to be uh to be a part of

[1:09:27] it all. So uh we're here for you in

[1:09:29] whatever way needed.

[1:09:31] >> Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank

[1:09:32] you for being on today. This was

[1:09:34] absolutely amazing.

[1:09:35] >> Thank you for having me. Thank you for

[1:09:37] doing what you're doing. Michelle,

[1:09:38] you're obviously you have a great energy

[1:09:40] and things are uh you know the the the

[1:09:43] things that are needed to make a big

[1:09:46] impact in the world are I'm definitely

[1:09:48] feeling those energies and conversation

[1:09:50] with you and uh what you're doing to

[1:09:52] bring people together is so important

[1:09:55] and I so appreciate being able to be a

[1:09:57] part of that. So, thank you.

[1:09:59] >> Thank you. Yeah.

Frequently Asked Questions

In Morter's framework on The Adult Chair Podcast, bioenergetics means the energy as it relates to the body: bio for body, energetics for the energy that flows through it. She argues that everything, including physical matter, is energy in varying degrees of compression, and that healing happens when that flow is unblocked. When the flow is distorted or suppressed, she says, anxiety, depression and exhaustion tend to follow.
Morter describes this as attention leaving your own body and attaching to the other person, so that your sense of safety becomes located outside you. In the episode, she uses the image of someone standing in a doorway: you may not notice you're doing it, but you're giving them your power. The remedy she offers is to bring that attention back home.
Morter says no. In the episode's opening exchange, the response is that it isn't selfish but personally responsible. The idea is that refusing to hand your energy to someone else is different from taking energy from them.
According to Morter, the number one way to block energy is to go looking for the blockages. Scanning for what is wrong routes energy differently than it's designed, while enhancing what is right tends to resolve the blockage at its source.
The episode treats them that way. Its description lists pessimism, sarcasm and worst-case-scenario thinking as patterns that can function as protection, and the opening moments model meeting the pessimistic part with compassion: I see you trying to protect me.
The episode argues that positive thinking alone isn't always the answer. If attention is still aimed outward, seeking approval or reassurance from the other person, then even positive thoughts remain a transfer of power. The conversation focuses on relocating attention rather than only replacing thoughts.
