Narayana Montúfar

Narayana Montúfar is an astrologer, Akashic Records practitioner, writer and visual artist. She is the author of Moon Signs: Unlock Your Inner Luminary Power and Written in Your Stars: Use Your Saturn Return, Pluto Square, and Other Planetary Cycles to Become Your Best Self, which was honored in independent book publishing awards. She keeps what she calls a sacred and intimate connection with the sky through her writing, private readings and abstract painting, and believes the power of the universe is best harnessed when we seek it within ourselves.

She was born in Mexico City and received her first astrology reading as a teenager. After losing beloved family members, she moved to San Francisco, where her path as a spiritual editor and content creator began in 2011. There she found astrology, Reiki, moon rituals, Tarot and painting. She has practiced astrology full-time since 2011 and has worked as a consulting astrologer since 2018. In early 2023 she completed a six-month training in reading the Akashic Records, which she now weaves into her work.

Her editorial career began in 2008 at 7x7 Magazine and SPIN Media. From 2011 to 2023 she was Senior Astrologer for Astrology.com and Horoscope.com. She has been in-house astrologer and ritual writer for House of Intuition since 2020. Her writing and insights have appeared in Vogue, Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Well+Good, Refinery29, Women's Health and other outlets. Vogue named her one of its 13 Astrologers to Follow in 2021. Medium's Authority Magazine included her among its 2020 Strong Female Leaders.

Astrology also opened the door to painting. She never attended art school, but her birth chart pointed to creative potential she went on to explore. Destig Magazine chose her as one of its Top Artists to Collect in 2020. She also created Transcending the Cosmic Octave, an installation of ink and acrylic paintings on translucent paper, made with musician Gerrit Coetzee, dancer Renee Lee and set designer Alex Drossler. It was her entry for the OPA Astrology & Art Grant 2022.

In her private practice she takes a holistic approach. She helps each client connect with the uniqueness of their chart and find a path toward self-empowerment and self-discovery.
