Mandy Mercuri is a mindfulness coach and writer who helps people meet the challenges of life, including pain and stress, with awareness, curiosity and kindness. She has managed chronic back pain since her teen years, after two major corrective surgeries for scoliosis, and says that when pain overwhelmed her she felt out of control, exhausted and unworthy. That experience shapes her understanding of, and compassion for, the people she works with.
Mandy has practiced mindfulness for over 10 years and finds it critical for living well, building meaningful connections, finding peace and ease in daily living, and encountering more joy. She is a qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) facilitator and a certified Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) coach. Her mindfulness courses include MBSR and the From Pain to Peace program.
Her approach favours simple practice. Formal meditation cultivates mindfulness, and she is just as keen on small practices in everyday life: a deep breath, moving with purpose, noticing, listening and paying attention. She describes mindfulness as a way of befriending ourselves and our experience, and she sees herself as a life-long learner and experimenter walking the same path as her clients.
Mandy also writes a mindfulness blog and newsletter, sharing her own experiments and attempts to get past overwhelming times.
Worth Knowing
Mandy Mercuri is a mindfulness coach, writer, and Meditation Teacher who helps people meet pain, stress, and difficult stretches of life with awareness, curiosity, and kindness. Her credibility rests on lived experience: she has managed chronic back pain since her teen years, following two major corrective surgeries for scoliosis, and she describes how overwhelming pain left her feeling out of control, exhausted, and unworthy. That history shapes how she approaches clients, with compassion rooted in having been in the same place. She has practiced mindfulness for more than ten years and is a qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) facilitator and a certified Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) coach. Readers and students tend to follow her because she frames mindfulness as a practical, everyday skill for chronic pain and stress rather than a retreat-only pursuit. She also writes a mindfulness blog and newsletter in which she shares her own experiments.
