Maaya Eagle is a holistic health and wellbeing practitioner on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. She is the founder of Somatic Vedic Healing, an experienced disability support worker, a former special education teacher and a lover of nature.
Her path began with her own search for ease in body and mind. She says she has overcome her own challenges with CPTSD, anxiety, depression, hormonal issues, physical pain and chronic digestive complaints using the modalities she has learned over the years. That experience led her to study, and to the work she now offers others. Her training spans ayurveda, yoga, yoga therapy, breathwork, reiki, meditation and a master of special education. She is a certified ayurvedic practitioner, meditation teacher, yoga instructor and reiki master, and she specialises in gut healing and in processing emotional stresses.
Her nervous system regulation programs combine somatic and energetic healing modalities. They are individualised and held online, and they aim to create new neural pathways and release trapped emotions. She describes them as the culmination of more than 15 years of study and Spirit guidance. She also teaches therapeutic yoga and guided meditation, online or in person, for people whose limitations make general classes difficult. These sessions help build or maintain strength, balance, flexibility and fitness, and ease stress, past trauma or a busy mind.
Maaya also provides NDIS disability support on the Sunshine Coast. She supports adults and children with a range of disabilities, including mental health conditions, ASD, ADHD, CPTSD, Down syndrome and physical disability. Her support covers daily living and access to community, social and recreational activities. She works from a space in Maleny and occasionally runs workshops and retreats. Her aim is to hold a space where clients feel supported, safe and empowered.
