Loren Runion is a yoga nidra teacher who helps stressed-out people find more joy and calm in easy, uncomplicated ways. Her work centers on nervous system wellness, through yoga nidra meditation, restorative yoga, and mindfulness.
She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 15 years before leaving that career to help others bring restorative, healing practices into their days. She describes herself as someone who has to work hard to stay calm, and says she lived for years feeling constantly stressed, overwhelmed, and anxious. The tools she shares are the ones that helped her change her relationship with stress and regulate her nervous system. Yoga nidra, which she describes as an effortless, deeply relaxing form of meditation known as yogic sleep and a form of Non-Sleep Deep Rest, has been the most transformative of them for her.
Loren's approach rests on three threads: the body, where tension and the accumulated events of life are held; the mind, where our narratives and beliefs filter how we see our lives; and intention, meaning clarity about what you want to create, with progress over perfection.
She is the creator of Intentionology, an online studio and membership community, and of the Intentionology Yoga Nidra App, which is designed to help regulate the nervous system and align meditations with daily life. She also shares free yoga nidra meditations on her YouTube channel, aimed at better sleep, calmer stress, and more energy.
Her training includes a certified 100-hour Yoga Nidra teacher training (Transformational Sleep with Ally Boothroyd, 2022), meditation and breathwork teacher training with Loka Yoga School (2022), and a 200-hour yoga teacher training in Ashtanga Vinyasa (Yoga ah, 2015). In 2021 she completed certifications through Yes Supply as a life and success coach, NLP practitioner, EFT practitioner, T.I.M.E. Techniques practitioner, and clinical hypnosis practitioner. She holds a B.S. in Nursing from Northern Kentucky University (2005).
Worth Knowing
Loren Runion approaches nervous system wellness from a clinical perspective—she spent 15 years as a Registered Nurse before transitioning to teach yoga nidra, restorative yoga, and mindfulness full-time. Her appeal lies in this hybrid credibility: she doesn't traffic in abstract spirituality, but in evidence-informed practices designed to regulate the nervous system and make stress manageable. What drives her teaching is personal—she describes herself as someone who "has to work hard to stay calm" and lived for years in a state of chronic stress and anxiety, and yoga nidra became her breakthrough tool. She created Intentionology—an online studio, membership community, and dedicated app—specifically to make these practices accessible and integrated into daily life rather than siloed into weekend retreats. Her students tend to be people exhausted by traditional wellness advice who want a grounded, practical entry point to meditation and nervous system work. The 5,600+ people following her on Spotify and the free meditations she shares on YouTube suggest she's found an audience hungry for this less-mystical, more pragmatic framing of restorative practice.
