Jack Harrison

Jack Harrison is a folklorist, musician and yoga teacher who has spent some 30 years bringing these paths together in the Celtic School of Yoga, based in Kinvara, County Galway, Ireland. His site calls him Ireland's best-known yoga musician.

His yoga music draws on the great traditions of yoga, woven with Irish music and shaped by the Celtic tradition and the natural world. He has produced three widely acclaimed yoga albums and two other recordings of original music and sea songs, and he plays regularly at concerts, festivals, retreats and other yoga events.

Jack is a principal author of a book on the parallels between yoga and the Celtic world, The Celtic School of Yoga, co-written with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli. In an article by Helen Avery on Wanderlust Media, he describes poetry and story as "how the unconscious mind expresses itself". His teaching explores how movement can be allied with breath, focus, mythology, poetry, music and the natural world.

With his partner in teaching, Benita, he leads retreats, workshops and immersion teacher trainings in places such as the Burren, the Aran Islands, Spain and Paxos. Both are Certified Anusara Teachers with an Anusara and Astanga background, and their events blend yoga, music, poetic story, nature, wandering and sacred sites.
