Eef Heinhuis

Eef Heinhuis runs a practice for mindfulness training and meditation between Sneek and Leeuwarden in Friesland, in the Netherlands. Since 2012 she has guided people in dealing with stress, most often those coping with burn-out, anxiety, low mood or long-term stress. She says it is always striking to see how quickly someone can come to stand differently in life.

Before starting her mindfulness practice she worked in health care and in education. She studied social behavioural sciences at the University of Groningen and trained as a behavioural scientist. She completed her MBSR teacher training at Hogeschool Utrecht and is trained as a category 1 mindfulness trainer. She has more than thirty years of experience as an educator, coach, teacher and trainer. She also describes herself as someone with lived experience of depression, and she has practised Zen for about twelve years.

Her offer includes mindfulness basic training (MBSR), self-compassion training (MBCL), individual or duo mindfulness, mindful coaching, mindfulness in the workplace and an ongoing meditation group. Personal attention and a personal approach are central to her work. Participants describe her as clear, knowledgeable, down to earth, calm and humorous.
