Brad Yates is an EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) tapping teacher who has spent more than 20 years helping people tap through their blocks and into the best version of themselves. He describes tapping as a way of physically resetting the body's fear response by tapping on energy meridians while talking through and resolving emotional resistance or trauma. His approach is empathetic and grounded, and he doesn't believe personal development needs to be punishing or tedious. His wish is to get the whole world tapping so everyone can feel better, do better and live better.
His path began in acting. He earned a BA in Drama, studied for a time in London, toured the world in theatre, and then moved to Hollywood, where he had a small role in "Chaplin" and played a doctor on "Days of Our Lives". He is also a graduate of Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Clown College. With a growing family, he trained as a hypnotherapist, and through other hypnotherapists he heard about tapping and attended a training with EFT founder Gary Craig. It resonated with him, and tapping gradually became the heart of his client sessions.
Brad was one of the early tappers on YouTube and one of the pioneers of making tapping rounds available online. His first video, "Tap o' the Mornin'", was followed by "Tap o' the Evenin'" and then over a thousand more, freely available, on topics such as anxiety, self-worth, money, trauma, relationships and health. He calls his method the Michelangelo Process, after the sculptor's idea that the masterpiece is already in the marble and the work is to chip away what doesn't belong.
He has worked with a wide range of clients, from CEOs and professional athletes to residents of a program for homeless men and women in Santa Monica, and for several years taught a weekly class using EFT and guided imagery at Sacramento Drug Court. He has presented at several International Energy Psychology Conferences and at Jack Canfield's Breakthrough to Success event, and has been a featured expert in every Tapping World Summit. He is the author of the best-selling children's book "The Wizard's Wish", co-author of "Freedom at Your Fingertips", and a featured expert in the film "The Tapping Solution". He lives in the Sacramento area with his wife and their two children.
