BrightStar tracks a pending balance from your completed ticket sales and sends it to your connected Stripe account in a payout. A kirtan night selling tickets at the door, a retreat filling its last few spots the week before departure, a sound healing circle taking last-minute signups — in each case, the organizer wants to know where the money stands. This guide walks through how payouts work and why a payout might not go out when you expect.
How payouts work on Express and Standard accounts
BrightStar pays out through Stripe. Both Express and Standard connected accounts are treated the same way by the daily automatic payout run. Once your setup is complete and your account can receive funds, BrightStar sends your pending net balance to your connected account.
You can also request a payout yourself. When your account is eligible and you have a pending balance, a Request Payout button appears on the Payouts page. This is not limited to one account type.
Payout minimums and how they add up
A payout is only created when your pending net balance is above zero. If there is nothing pending, no payout is made, and the balance carries forward as new sales come in.
When a payout is held or delayed
A payout cannot go out until your payout account is ready. BrightStar checks that Stripe onboarding is complete, that charges are enabled, and, with a live check, that Stripe has payouts enabled and your details submitted.
The Payouts page shows your account status, such as Not Set Up, Setup Incomplete, Verification Pending or Active, so you can see where you stand.
