Description
Each month, a dedicated circle of meditators gathers in Australia to return to stillness together. This is Bhante Joe Atulo's Monthly Meditation—a 90-minute immersion in Theravada Buddhist practice that begins with chanting, deepens through silent meditation, and unfolds into wisdom teaching and genuine dialogue. Whether you're seeking refuge from the noise of daily life, exploring Buddhist practice for the first time, or deepening a years-long commitment, this intimate community space welcomes you exactly as you are.
Held on the first Monday of each month, these sessions honor the contemplative tradition while remaining grounded in the lives and questions of contemporary practitioners. You'll leave not just relaxed, but touched by the clarity that arises when we sit together in focused intention—and connected to a sangha (spiritual community) that meets you where you are.
What to Expect
Arrive to a calm, welcoming space intentionally kept private and free from recording. The session opens with chanting, anchoring the group in shared sound and reverence. You'll then settle into silent meditation—guided and supported by an experienced teacher—allowing your mind to find its natural depth. Following meditation, Bhante Joe offers a Dhamma talk (Buddhist teaching) responsive to the season and the community's needs. The gathering closes with open discussion, creating space for real questions and genuine connection. All experience levels are genuinely welcome, from complete beginners to seasoned practitioners.
