When someone buys a ticket to your kirtan night, your retreat, or your festival weekend, that money needs somewhere real to land. You connect a Stripe account that belongs to you, and your ticket revenue is sent to that account. You set this up once, and it carries across every event you run afterward. You are not reconnecting for each retreat, each door, or each new listing.
Connecting your account
The setup runs inside Stripe's own onboarding, not a BrightStar form. BrightStar hands you off to Stripe and waits for Stripe to report back:
- 1Click to connect your payout account
- 2BrightStar creates a Stripe Express account in your name and gives you an onboarding link
- 3Complete the onboarding with Stripe
- 4Stripe returns you to BrightStar, and BrightStar syncs your status
Why the country you set up from matters
Stripe's onboarding is different for every country. If none is chosen, it uses the country detected from your location, and if that is not available it uses the United States. Check that the country matches the bank account and identity documents you actually hold.
What the connection states mean
Your payout account shows one of a few states.
Not Set Up means no Stripe account exists for you yet.
Setup Incomplete means the account exists, but you have not finished Stripe's onboarding. Use Complete Setup to continue where you left off.
Verification Pending means Stripe is reviewing your account.
Active means your payout account is ready to receive funds.
Your pending balance and payout history
The payouts page shows a pending balance built from your completed orders, along with how many orders and events it covers. Below it, your payout history lists each payout with its gross amount, fees, net amount and status. If a payout fails, the reason is shown.
When you connect a new account, BrightStar sets a payout delay on it, 14 days by default. Money still settles into your Stripe balance, but it does not leave for your bank until that delay has passed.
