Connecting a ticketing platform lets BrightStar read the events from your own account on that platform and list them for you. It is for organizers who already sell tickets elsewhere and want to be found on BrightStar too.
What connecting does
You sign in once, or paste a key from your account. BrightStar reads your upcoming events and lists each one on BrightStar. Buyers are sent to your platform's page to buy, so your tickets stay where they are.
If you cancel an event there, or delete it, the listing is hidden here.
Because the account proves the events are yours, they are listed straight away. They are not held for review, as links you paste are. An event that has no place, meaning no venue, city or online setting, is still held until it has one.
Where to find it
Dashboard → Integrations → Ticketing. Only the account owner can connect or disconnect a platform.
Which platforms you can connect
BrightStar can connect these seven platforms:
Connecting an account
The steps are almost the same on every platform:
- 1Open Dashboard → Integrations → Ticketing and choose the platform.
- 2If it uses sign-in, a window opens on the platform. Sign in and allow access.
- 3If it uses a key, paste the key into the box. For Retreat Guru, enter your subdomain as well.
- 4Wait a moment while BrightStar checks the account and reads your events.
- 5Look over your list of upcoming events on the same page.
If a platform shows it is not ready yet
Some sign-in platforms need a BrightStar app that is not yet set up. If so, BrightStar records your request. Eventbrite also lets you paste a personal token, so you can connect it right away.
Using more than one platform
You can connect several platforms, and even two accounts on one platform. If the same event is on two of them, BrightStar shows one listing. When the title and day match, the second ticket link is kept as another way to buy. When the match is less certain, the first connected platform's link stays.
If you disconnect a platform, BrightStar wipes its saved sign-in. Listings that came only from it are hidden. A listing that another connected platform also feeds stays, and that platform takes over.
Moving an event to BrightStar ticketing
On a synced event you can choose to sell it here. The event becomes your own BrightStar event with the same page address, and it stops syncing from the platform. It still links out to the platform's tickets until you switch on BrightStar ticketing in the event setup.
You can also bring past buyers along. Tick the box that confirms you have the right to contact them. Their email addresses are added to your audience and your contacts, and they do not appear on the Customers page. Meetup does not share buyers' emails, so none come from there.
