Reprogramming the Mind: Why Repeated Experience Rewires You

A room full of people is asked a simple question, and most of them raise their hands. Do you believe your thoughts have something to do with your destiny? Yes, they signal. Then Dr Joe Dispenza asks a harder one: how many of you actually woke up this morning and consciously created a future? That gap between belief and practice is the spine of his talk in a Hay House video published in November 2024, and it is built around one proposition. You do not change by understanding alone. You change when repeated experience rewires the brain and body until a new way of being runs on its own. Dispenza moves through neuroscience, epigenetics and the language of the quantum field, but the core argument will feel familiar to any musician. Nobody learns a song by reading the chart. You learn it by playing it until your hands know what your head only understood.

Why does a retreat start by unplugging from your life?

Dispenza frames the weekend he is speaking at as an opportunity to step away from the familiar. The goal is to "remove the constant stimulation in your external environment that reminds you of who you think you are as a personality." That means separating yourself from the people you know, the places you go and the things you do at the same time every day. The point is not escape. It is to create enough quiet that you can be reminded of what you already know.

This is more than a stylistic choice. In Dispenza's model, the environment is a constant cue. Your commute, your inbox and your usual dinner conversation all trigger the same responses, and those responses keep the old self in place. Stepping out of that loop is the precondition for doing anything different. You cannot rehearse a new part while the old set is still lit.

What actually happens in the brain when you learn something?

For Dispenza, learning is a physical event. "Every time you learn something new you make new connections in your brain," he says, and "that's what learning is: forging new synaptic connections." He cites a Nobel laureate he names as Kandel, who in 2000 reportedly found that learning a single bit of information doubled the connections in the brain, from 1,300 to 2,600. He calls these "footprints of consciousness," physical evidence of interaction with the environment.

The number matters less than the caveat he attaches to it (video, about 1:00). If people did not review, repeat or think about that new information, the circuits pruned apart within hours or days. Learning, in other words, is perishable. A new idea that is never revisited does not stay new. It fades back into the old wiring.

Dispenza's list of ways to keep those connections alive is practical, and it is where the talk starts to sound like a rehearsal room. Review. Repeat. Return to the idea. Each pass is not a repeat of the same signal but a reinforcement of the new path.

Why isn't knowing enough to change?

This is the central distinction of the talk. "We can say that knowledge is for the mind and experience is for the body" (video, about 2:53). Information lands in the head. Change requires the body to participate. Dispenza describes the moment of experience as one in which all five senses plug you into the external world, and "jungles of neurons are organizing themselves into networks," enriching the philosophy you learned intellectually.

He ties this to a progression he describes as moving "from philosopher to initiate to master," or "from knowledge to experience to wisdom," and finally "from mind to body to soul." The ladder runs from thinking to doing to being. A philosopher can explain patience. An initiate has practiced it under pressure. A master no longer needs to summon it because it has become character.

The practical implication is that a single insight, however moving, is a starting point rather than a result. What counts is whether you can take the idea into a real situation, modify a behavior, and do it again.

How does a thought become a chemical, and a chemical become biology?

Dispenza's account of the mechanism is worth slowing down for. When the neurons string into place during an experience, "the brain makes a chemical and that chemical is called a feeling or an emotion." He gives examples: the moment you feel abundant, healthy, like a leader, like a patient parent. In those moments, he argues, "you are teaching your body emotionally to understand what your mind is intellectually understood." He goes further, describing this as signaling new genes and rewriting the biological program chemically.

The principle he returns to is an old one in neuroscience circles, and he states it plainly: "nerve cells that fire together wire together" (video, about 8:14). Repetition is what gives the wiring its strength. Do something enough times and the body begins to know it without consulting you. Dispenza's phrase for that endpoint is that "the body becomes the mind." It is no longer a skill you deploy. It is second nature.

Musicians will recognize the arc. The early attempts at a difficult passage are conscious and clumsy. Then the hands take over, and the player can speak while playing. Dispenza is describing the same process, applied to temper, self-worth and the way you respond to a difficult coworker.

Can your thoughts really shape your future?

Dispenza's most striking claim rests on a number. He says people think somewhere between 60,000 and 70,000 thoughts in a day, and that "90% of those thoughts are the same thoughts as the day before" (video, about 7:13). He presents this as science, and he uses it to close a logical loop. If your thoughts repeat, your choices repeat. Your choices produce the same behaviors, which produce the same experiences, which produce the same emotions, which drive the same thoughts again. Your biology, neurochemistry and even genetic expression, he argues, track that loop.

He calls the result your personality, and says your personality "creates your personal reality." His conclusion is blunt. If you want a new reality, you cannot run the old personality with a new slogan. "Most people try to create a new personal reality as the same personality and it doesn't work," he says. "You literally have to become someone else" (video, about 8:14).

The talk is also candid about why change is so hard. He says most people "wait for crisis or trauma or disease or diagnosis or tragedy or loss to finally make up their mind to change." His counter-question is the one that drives the talk: "why wait?" You can learn and change in pain, he says, or in joy and inspiration. "Which would you choose?"

How do you break the habit of yourself?

Dispenza's answer begins with awareness. You become conscious of your unconscious thoughts, notice automatic habits and emotional reactions, and then decide whether those feelings "belong in your future" (video, about 9:15). He describes a "box in the brain," the most frequently fired set of thoughts, behaviors and emotions, which becomes "the habit of yourself." Frequent repetition sets the box. Awareness is the tool for opening it.

The method is not to fight the old self but to offer the new one a rehearsal. Pick a potential, choose a new response, and repeat it until the body starts to trust it. The emphasis on a future rather than a past is consistent across the talk. The memories are not the enemy. They are simply the wiring you have already built, and the question is which wiring you want to build next.

Why does Dispenza bring science into a spiritual message?

Dispenza makes an unusual argument for his choice of vocabulary. He says "science has become the contemporary language of mysticism," and that "science demystifies the mystical." When he talks about religion, culture or tradition, he says, "you divide an audience," whereas science "creates community." He lists quantum physics, neuroscience, neuroendocrinology, psychoneuroimmunology and epigenetics as fields that, in his reading, "all point the finger at possibility." The message he takes from them is that you are not doomed by your genes, and that human beings are "marvels of adaptability and change."

It is worth being clear about what this talk is. It is a spiritual and self-development teaching that borrows the authority of science. Dispenza's specific claims, including the Kandel figures and the 90 percent repetition figure, are presented as he tells them in this video, and a viewer who wants to test them should go to the primary literature rather than accept them on the strength of a stage delivery. The underlying idea, that repeated practice shapes what we do automatically, is one that stands on its own: you do not need to accept every neurological detail to see why rehearsal matters.

Where to go from here

If this talk has caught you, the most useful step is not another reading. It is a small, repeatable experience. Pick one thought you already know you want to change, one behavior that follows it, and one emotion that reliably rises with it. Then put yourself in a situation that asks for the new version, and do it again the next day. Dispenza's framework suggests the practice matters more than the insight.

To go deeper, watch the full video from Hay House, which runs about an hour and two minutes and includes the workshop material that frames this talk. Dispenza's book Becoming Supernatural is the companion text the video promotes, and it is the natural next stop for readers who want the full argument in one place. Come back to the talk's central question as you go: are you rehearsing the old self, or the one you want to become?

[0:01] this

[0:02] weekend is about

[0:05] you it's an opportunity for you to

[0:07] retreat from your lives for just a few

[0:11] days and to remove the constant

[0:14] stimulation in your external environment

[0:17] that reminds you of who you think you

[0:18] are as a

[0:20] personality to separate yourself from

[0:23] the people you know and the places you

[0:25] go and the things that you do at the

[0:27] exact same time every single day

[0:31] long enough for you to be reminded of

[0:33] what you already

[0:36] know and every time you learn something

[0:38] new you make new Connections in your

[0:40] brain that's what learning is learning

[0:42] is forging new synaptic

[0:45] connections and the Nobel Prize laurate

[0:47] kandell in the year 2000 found that when

[0:49] people learn just one bit of

[0:52] information they doubled the number of

[0:54] Connections in their brain from 1300

[0:56] connections to 2600

[0:58] connections physical evidence

[1:01] as a result of their interaction in the

[1:03] environment Footprints of

[1:06] Consciousness but if they didn't review

[1:08] that

[1:08] information if they didn't repeat it if

[1:10] they didn't think about it those

[1:12] circuits pruned apart within hours or

[1:16] days so all of this information that

[1:19] you're learning this philosophy this

[1:22] Theory this intellectual data this

[1:24] scientific spiritual

[1:27] information begins to change you on a

[1:29] physical level

[1:32] but that

[1:35] information is for you to do something

[1:37] with

[1:38] it because when you apply it when you

[1:42] personalize it when you demonstrate it

[1:45] when you initiate that philosophy you're

[1:47] going to have to modify your behaviors

[1:49] in some way and do something

[1:52] differently and if you can get your

[1:53] behaviors to match your intentions you

[1:56] can get your actions equal to your

[1:58] thoughts if you can get your mind and

[2:00] body working together you're going to

[2:01] have a new

[2:02] experience now when you're in the midst

[2:04] of an experience all five senses plug

[2:07] you into the external environment and as

[2:10] you're seeing smelling tasting feeling

[2:13] hearing all that information is rushing

[2:15] back to your brain and jungles of

[2:18] neurons are organizing themselves into

[2:20] networks enriching the philosophical

[2:23] information that you learned

[2:25] intellectually the moment those neurons

[2:27] string into place the brain makes a

[2:31] chemical and that chemical is called a

[2:33] feeling or an

[2:35] emotion and the moment you feel abundant

[2:39] the moment you feel healthy the moment

[2:41] you feel like a leader the moment you

[2:43] feel like a patient parent now you are

[2:46] teaching your body emotionally to

[2:50] understand what your mind is

[2:51] intellectually

[2:53] understood and we can say that knowledge

[2:55] is for the mind and experience is for

[2:58] the body and in that moment you're

[3:00] embodying the truth of that philosophy

[3:03] and you're literally signaling new genes

[3:05] and new ways and rewriting your

[3:07] biological program chemically

[3:10] instructing your body to understand what

[3:12] your mind is intellectually

[3:16] understood but if you've done it

[3:19] once it means you should be able to do

[3:21] it

[3:22] again and if you can repeat any

[3:25] experience over and over again you are

[3:28] going to neurochemically

[3:30] condition your mind and body to work as

[3:33] one and when the body knows how to do it

[3:36] as well as the mind or the body becomes

[3:38] the mind now it's innate in

[3:41] you it's second nature it's automatic

[3:45] it's easy it's who you are in fact

[3:48] you've practiced it so many times you

[3:50] don't even have to consciously think

[3:52] about it you know how to do it but you

[3:54] don't know how you know how anymore and

[3:57] it becomes like a subconscious computer

[4:01] program neurochemically memorizing an

[4:04] internal order that's greater than any

[4:06] condition in your external environment

[4:08] means you're beginning to master that

[4:13] philosophy so our job then is to go from

[4:17] philosopher to initiate to

[4:21] master from knowledge to experience to

[4:25] wisdom from mind to body to soul from

[4:29] thinking to doing to being learning it

[4:32] with your head practicing with your

[4:33] hands and knowing it by

[4:36] heart and you and I have all the

[4:38] biological and neurological Machinery to

[4:41] do

[4:42] this and this is a time in history where

[4:45] it's not enough to

[4:47] know this is a time in history to know

[4:50] how and I think that science has become

[4:53] the Contemporary language of

[4:55] mysticism and I think science

[4:58] demystifies the mystical

[5:00] and the moment you start talking

[5:02] religion or culture or tradition you

[5:05] divide an

[5:07] audience but science creates community

[5:10] and if you can combine a little quantum

[5:13] physics with a little

[5:16] Neuroscience with a little

[5:19] neuroendocrinology with a little psychon

[5:22] neuroimmunology with a little

[5:25] epigenetics they all point the finger at

[5:27] possibility it's the new science that

[5:30] shows you that you're not doomed by your

[5:32] genes or hardwired to be a certain way

[5:35] for the rest of your life that we are

[5:37] marvels of adaptability and

[5:40] change problem

[5:43] is that most people wait for crisis or

[5:46] trauma or disease or diagnosis or

[5:50] tragedy or loss to finally make up their

[5:53] mind to

[5:55] change and my message is why

[5:59] wait you can learn and change in a state

[6:01] of pain and suffering or you can learn

[6:04] and change in a state of joy and

[6:05] inspiration which would you

[6:07] choose so

[6:10] then most people on some level believe

[6:14] that their thoughts have something to do

[6:15] with their Destiny do you believe that

[6:18] raise your hand if you believe it you do

[6:20] yes so here's my

[6:22] question how many of you actually woke

[6:25] up this morning and consciously created

[6:27] a future

[6:32] you know why most people don't do it is

[6:34] because they don't believe it's

[6:35] true if you knew it was true that your

[6:38] thoughts had an effect on your life you

[6:41] would never miss a day in creating the

[6:44] life that you wanted and you would never

[6:47] let any thought slip by your awareness

[6:49] that you didn't want to

[6:52] experience so I was telling the group

[6:54] yesterday in our Workshop that you think

[6:58] 60 to 70,000 thoughts in one day this is

[7:02] science

[7:03] now out of those 60 to 70,000 thoughts

[7:07] that you think in one day 90% of those

[7:10] thoughts are the same thoughts as the

[7:13] day

[7:14] before

[7:18] hint so if you're thinking the same

[7:21] thoughts and you believe that your

[7:22] thoughts have something to do with your

[7:24] life then your life should stay the same

[7:27] because the same thoughts always lead to

[7:30] the same

[7:31] choices the same choices always lead to

[7:34] the same

[7:35] behaviors the same behaviors create the

[7:37] same

[7:38] experiences and the same experiences

[7:40] produce the same feelings and the same

[7:43] emotions and those same emotions drive

[7:46] your very same thoughts and your biology

[7:49] your neuros circuitry your

[7:51] neurochemistry your hormones and even

[7:54] your genetic expression is equal to how

[7:57] you think how you act and how you

[8:02] feel and how you think how you act and

[8:05] how you feel is called your

[8:08] personality and your personality creates

[8:11] your personal reality that's

[8:14] it so if you wanted to create a new

[8:17] personal

[8:18] reality you would have to change your

[8:21] personality which means you'd have to

[8:23] start thinking about what you've been

[8:25] thinking about and change

[8:27] it you'd have to become aware of your

[8:30] your unconscious habits and behaviors

[8:32] and modify

[8:34] them and

[8:36] then you would have to look at those

[8:40] emotions that keep you anchored to the

[8:43] past and decide if those emotions belong

[8:46] in your

[8:48] future you see most people try to create

[8:51] a new personal reality as the same

[8:53] personality and it doesn't work you

[8:56] literally have to become someone else so

[9:00] the present personality who's sitting

[9:02] here today called you has created the

[9:05] present personal reality called your

[9:08] life so you are here then to begin to

[9:11] become

[9:12] conscious of your unconscious

[9:15] thoughts become aware of your automatic

[9:18] habituations and emotional

[9:22] reactions and the principle in

[9:24] Neuroscience says that nerve cells that

[9:26] fire together wire

[9:28] together so if you insist on thinking

[9:30] the same old thoughts making the same

[9:34] choices demonstrating the same behaviors

[9:38] creating the same experiences that stamp

[9:41] and emboss the same networks of neurons

[9:43] into the same patterns all for the

[9:45] familiar feeling you call you you keep

[9:49] firing and wiring those circuits over

[9:51] and over again you begin to hardwire

[9:53] your brain into a very finite

[9:56] signature that box in the brain the most

[9:59] commonly fired neurologically wired set

[10:02] of thoughts behaviors and emotions

[10:04] that's acquired through frequent

[10:05] repetition becomes the habit of

[10:09] yourself and it's just like a box in the

[10:14] brain and the redundancy of that

[10:17] cycle causes us to become a memorized

[10:21] set of unconscious

[10:25] attitudes automatic habits and behaviors

[10:28] emotional reactions beliefs perceptions

[10:30] and attitudes that function like a

[10:33] subconscious computer program science

[10:36] says that 95% of Who You Are by the time

[10:40] you're 35 years old is a memorized set

[10:43] of thoughts behaviors and

[10:45] emotions so now 5% of your conscious

[10:48] mind is going to work against 95% of

[10:51] what you've memorized

[10:54] subconsciously and you can think

[10:56] positively all you want

[10:59] but if you've been feeling negatively

[11:01] that's Mind and Body in

[11:04] opposition and you can create your dream

[11:06] board with all your visions and all the

[11:08] things you want in your life but if you

[11:11] feel unworthy that's mind and body and

[11:15] opposition and it's time then to

[11:17] recondition your body to a new

[11:20] mind and so if you're waking up every

[11:23] single

[11:25] morning and you come to your

[11:27] senses and you open your eyes and you

[11:30] have to stop and think about all your

[11:33] problems think about all the people you

[11:35] have to see and the places you have to

[11:37] go and the things that you have to do

[11:38] that are just like

[11:41] yesterday and then you check your cell

[11:43] phone you check your WhatsApp you check

[11:45] your text you check your Instagram you

[11:47] check your Facebook you check your

[11:48] emails you check the news you do a

[11:50] little Tweet now you're plugged into

[11:53] your

[11:57] identity and then you go through through

[11:59] a routine set of

[12:01] behaviors you've put your slippers on

[12:03] you put your robe on you scratch

[12:05] yourself just like yesterday you make

[12:07] your way to the toilet get off the

[12:09] toilet then you're make your cup of

[12:11] coffee then you open the door you let

[12:13] the cat out then you go to the shower

[12:15] you wash yourself the same routine way

[12:19] you get done you dress yourself you

[12:21] groom

[12:23] yourself get in your car you go through

[12:25] your routine you drive to work the same

[12:27] way you always do you see the same

[12:29] people that push the same emotional

[12:31] buttons you do the things that you've

[12:33] memorized and do so well you stop at the

[12:36] grocery store and you turn right cuz 90%

[12:38] of the people that enter a grocery store

[12:40] turn right so you turn right then you

[12:43] shop for your same

[12:45] food then you do your same workout every

[12:50] time then you go home and you eat your

[12:52] meal you watch your favorite television

[12:57] show then you get back and check your

[13:01] emails then you get in front of the

[13:03] mirror and you put your lotions your

[13:05] potions your creams you brush your teeth

[13:08] you do all that stuff and then you go

[13:10] upstairs you get in bed and you read one

[13:13] page out of the book and

[13:15] boom you wake up the next morning and

[13:17] here we go

[13:19] again so if a habit is a redundant set

[13:22] of automatic unconscious thoughts

[13:24] behaviors and emotions that's acquired

[13:26] through frequent repetition if you keep

[13:29] doing that for 10 or 20 or 30 years your

[13:32] body is on

[13:33] autopilot and it's programmed into a

[13:35] predictable future based on what you did

[13:37] in the past and you're headed for a

[13:39] genetic

[13:40] Destiny and you've done nothing wrong

[13:43] you're just taking too

[13:46] long and so

[13:48] then when you see the same people and

[13:51] you go to the same places and you do the

[13:54] exact same thing at the exact same time

[13:57] and you're not being defined by a vision

[13:59] of the future you are left with the

[14:01] memories of the past because your brain

[14:05] is a record of the past it's an artifact

[14:09] of everything you've learned and

[14:11] experienced to this

[14:13] moment and if you wake up every single

[14:16] morning and search for The Familiar

[14:17] feeling called

[14:19] you and that emotion is connected to a

[14:22] person or a thing or a place or a

[14:24] circumstance in your external

[14:26] environment the moment you feel that

[14:28] familiar emotion you are in the

[14:31] past because emotions are a record of

[14:34] the

[14:35] past and if those emotions drive your

[14:39] thoughts and you can't think greater

[14:41] than how you feel or feelings have

[14:44] become the means of thinking than you

[14:46] are thinking in the

[14:48] past and if you believe that your

[14:50] thoughts have something to do with your

[14:51] destiny you'll keep recreating the same

[14:55] life so then when you get up in the

[14:58] morning

[15:00] and you're not being defined by a vision

[15:03] of the future you're left with the old

[15:05] Hardware of the past and you'll be

[15:06] predictable in your

[15:09] life and so then as you begin to see

[15:11] those people and you go to those places

[15:13] whether it's your boss your co-workers

[15:15] your family your enemies whatever it is

[15:19] and you go to a different place at a

[15:20] different time and see those things it's

[15:23] no longer that your personality is

[15:25] creating your personal

[15:27] reality now your personal reality is is

[15:29] creating your personality and you are

[15:31] victim to the environment because it is

[15:34] the environment that's controlling how

[15:36] you think and feel and how you think and

[15:39] how you

[15:40] feel is what creates your

[15:43] life so then if you're thinking equal to

[15:46] everything that you know in your life

[15:47] you keep creating the same things in

[15:50] your life so to

[15:52] change to truly change is to be greater

[15:56] than your environment to be greater than

[15:59] the circumstances in your life to be

[16:01] greater than the conditions in your

[16:04] world and every great person in history

[16:07] already knew this they were defined by

[16:10] some vision of the future and they were

[16:13] so possessed by that Vision that they

[16:15] began to live as if that future reality

[16:18] was happening in the present moment

[16:21] couldn't see it couldn't smell it

[16:22] couldn't taste it couldn't feel it

[16:24] couldn't hear it but to them it was

[16:25] alive in their mind

[16:29] so the fundamental question

[16:33] then is can you believe in a future that

[16:36] you can't see or experience with your

[16:39] senses

[16:40] yet but you've thought about enough

[16:42] times in your mind that your brain is

[16:45] literally changed to look like the

[16:47] experience has already

[16:49] occurred the latest research in

[16:51] Neuroscience says it's absolutely

[16:53] possible you can change your brain just

[16:54] by

[16:56] thinking and can you pick a potential

[16:59] that already exists in the quantum field

[17:01] and how many potentials exist in the

[17:02] quantum

[17:03] field hello infinite a few poke the Poke

[17:07] the person next to you please give him a

[17:09] little

[17:11] poke so can you select the new potential

[17:15] that already exists in the quantum field

[17:16] then can you begin to emotionally

[17:18] Embrace that future reality before it's

[17:20] made manifest to such a degree that your

[17:23] body as the unconscious mind believes

[17:25] it's in that future reality in the

[17:27] present moment and you're signaling new

[17:29] genes and new ways to change your body

[17:32] to look like the event has already

[17:35] occurred latest research in EP genetics

[17:37] says that's absolutely possible now

[17:40] think about

[17:42] this if there's physical evidence in

[17:45] your brain and body to look like the

[17:48] event has already

[17:51] occurred physical evidence to look like

[17:53] you've already experienced your

[17:56] future then you get to relax

[18:00] because the experience is going to find

[18:04] you and it's going to come in a way that

[18:06] you least expect

[18:10] why come on Geniuses is it too early for

[18:14] you because if you can expect it it's

[18:17] nothing new if you can predict it it's

[18:20] the known it's got to rock your

[18:22] world it's got to catch you off guard

[18:25] and it has to leave no doubt that what

[18:27] you did inside of you produc produced

[18:29] some effect outside of you and when you

[18:32] can correlate the changes you made

[18:34] inside of you with the effect that you

[18:36] produced outside of you you're going to

[18:38] pay attention to what you did and you're

[18:39] going to do it

[18:40] again there isn't a person in this room

[18:44] that is so special to be excluded from

[18:47] that phenomenon that we are all

[18:51] creators so then if your environment is

[18:55] controlling how you think and feel

[18:58] because when you see that person you

[19:00] have an experience of them already

[19:02] logged in your brain neurologically you

[19:04] have a neurological Network for your

[19:06] boss for your co-workers for your

[19:08] friends and because you experience them

[19:12] you also have an emotion attached to

[19:15] them and most people use the conditions

[19:18] in their life to reaffirm their

[19:21] emotional addiction and they need the

[19:23] bad job they need the poor relationship

[19:26] they need the difficult circumstances

[19:28] because they need to feel those

[19:31] emotions so then think about this would

[19:36] you agree then that new thoughts should

[19:39] lead to new

[19:40] choices hello new choices should lead to

[19:43] new Behaviors new Behavior should create

[19:46] new experiences new experien should

[19:48] create new feelings and new emotions and

[19:51] those new emotions should Inspire new

[19:53] thoughts and that's called Evolution yes

[19:56] because as you add a new Stitch into the

[19:58] three-dimensional t tapestry of your

[19:59] gray matter when you learn new

[20:01] information and you begin to think about

[20:03] it your brain is going to begin to fire

[20:05] in new sequences and new patterns and

[20:07] new

[20:08] combinations whenever you make your

[20:10] brain work differently you're changing

[20:11] your mind because mind is the brain in

[20:14] action mind is the brain at

[20:17] work so the beauty behind all of this

[20:21] then is that you begin to learn this

[20:23] information this particular weekend you

[20:26] are beginning to install the

[20:28] neurological heart Ware for yourself in

[20:30] preparation for an

[20:33] experience and the more you can

[20:35] comprehend this information and the more

[20:37] you begin to think about what you're

[20:39] going to do with it the more you begin

[20:41] to become a practical

[20:43] person practically applying

[20:47] this so then you can come to the Hay

[20:51] House

[20:52] conference you can listen to all the

[20:55] speakers you can take notes you can buy

[20:58] the book

[21:00] you can get the CDs and the downloads

[21:03] and you can play them in your car on the

[21:05] way to work and you can play them over

[21:07] and over again then you get to work and

[21:10] you're like you know what your problem

[21:15] is you need to be a little bit more

[21:17] compassionate and you over there you

[21:19] need to

[21:20] forgive and you know you know what you

[21:22] know what you need a little bit more

[21:23] emotional intelligence and you need a

[21:25] guide to help you through all of that

[21:28] every body is just mystified by the

[21:31] philosophy that's coming out of your

[21:33] [Laughter]

[21:35] mouth and they start you know knocking

[21:37] on your door excuse me can you

[21:39] administer to me I just need some help

[21:41] here I think I can fit you in in 30

[21:44] minutes come back in 30 minutes and you

[21:47] become the Mystic of your

[21:51] department and everything's going really

[21:54] well until it's time to go to the

[21:57] company Christmas party

[21:59] and your best friend calls you up and

[22:01] she

[22:02] says that person that threw you under

[22:04] the bus that betrayed you you know the

[22:08] one that talked about you and got the

[22:10] promotion instead of you she's at the

[22:12] Christmas

[22:14] party and all of a sudden you sit down

[22:17] on your couch and you start thinking

[22:19] about ways to poison

[22:23] her and then you think I'll wait till

[22:25] she gets into the woman's bathroom I'll

[22:27] close the door and then I'll stick her

[22:28] head head in the

[22:29] toilet and ask

[22:34] her to change her

[22:37] mind no no what I'm going to do is I'm

[22:39] going to embarrass her in front of

[22:41] everybody and you start rehearsing this

[22:43] scene in your

[22:45] mind and all of a sudden you realize oh

[22:48] my God I went to the Hay House

[22:50] conference damn

[22:54] it now I got to do something here

[22:59] and you sit down on the couch and you

[23:02] begin to think about what you

[23:04] learned and you say oh my God I got to

[23:07] remember to see myself in her okay let

[23:10] me just take a

[23:13] minute okay I need to stay in the

[23:15] present moment I need to see her best

[23:19] qualities see myself in her and as you

[23:23] begin to think about and recall that

[23:26] information you begin to activate

[23:28] different n works of neurons in your

[23:30] brain and something amazing happens if

[23:33] you do it properly the next thing you

[23:36] know you put yourself into a future

[23:39] scene the next thing you know you're

[23:41] rehearsing what you're going to do with

[23:43] that information you begin to review it

[23:46] plan your actions and as you put

[23:48] yourself into the scene into the

[23:50] equation you begin to mentally rehearse

[23:53] your actions the action of mental

[23:56] rehearsal begins to install the

[23:57] neurological Hardware in your brain so

[24:00] you are primed for the experience you

[24:02] have the circuits in place to use when

[24:04] you get in that scene and now your brain

[24:07] is no longer a record of the past now

[24:10] it's in fact a map to the

[24:13] Future and as you do this over and over

[24:16] again remembering who you no longer want

[24:18] to be and remembering who you do want to

[24:20] be you begin to change on a biological

[24:25] level and if you do it properly and you

[24:28] get your behavior to match your

[24:29] intentions and your actions equal to

[24:31] your thoughts and you walk into that

[24:33] scene with your physical body and you do

[24:36] exactly what the book said or the

[24:37] lecture

[24:39] said and you forgive that person the

[24:42] side effect of that is you are going to

[24:44] feel love you are going to feel

[24:48] compassion you are going to open your

[24:50] heart and feel an elevated

[24:52] emotion and now you're beginning to

[24:55] embody that philosophy how many people

[24:57] are with me but if you've done it

[25:00] once you know you're not going to be on

[25:02] the stained glass windows in church with

[25:04] one

[25:06] time you got to be able to replicate

[25:09] that action over and over again until

[25:11] you neurochemically condition your mind

[25:13] and body to become

[25:17] compassion now no person no thing no

[25:20] situation in your external environment

[25:22] will move you from that internal

[25:25] State well you see most people they have

[25:28] experiences is in their

[25:30] life and the more elevated the emotion

[25:32] the more heightened the emotion from The

[25:34] Experience whether it's shock or trauma

[25:36] or betrayal or loss the moment they feel

[25:39] differently inside of them they feel

[25:41] altered in some way from that experience

[25:44] emotionally they pay attention to what

[25:46] caused it in their external environment

[25:49] and the moment you feel different

[25:50] emotionally you wake up the brain takes

[25:53] a snapshot that's called a

[25:56] memory and so then people then have

[25:58] experence expences in their life that

[26:01] brand them neurologically and

[26:04] emotionally and what happens is there's

[26:06] a refractory period of chemicals that's

[26:09] created after an emotional

[26:11] reaction and if you don't know how to

[26:13] control your emotional reactions to

[26:15] things or people or circumstances and

[26:17] you allow those emotions to linger for

[26:20] hours or days that's called a mood

[26:28] what's up with

[26:30] you I'm in a

[26:32] mood

[26:34] really what happened oh I'm so glad you

[26:39] asked this thing happened to me six days

[26:43] ago and I'm just having one long

[26:46] emotional

[26:51] reaction and if you keep that same

[26:53] refractory period going on for weeks or

[26:56] months that's called the temperament

[26:59] why is he so angry I don't know let's

[27:01] ask him what's up why are you so

[27:04] bitter well this thing happened to me N9

[27:07] months

[27:08] ago and I'm memorizing my emotional

[27:13] reaction and if you keep that same

[27:16] refractory period going on for years on

[27:18] end that's called the personality

[27:20] trait and people's personalities are

[27:23] defined by their past and they wear

[27:26] their emotions on their sleeve because

[27:28] that's who they think they are but those

[27:30] emotions are just residus from the past

[27:33] and if you can ask that person why are

[27:36] you this way and they'll tell you I am

[27:40] this way because of this experience that

[27:42] happened to me 25 years

[27:45] ago which means from a biological

[27:48] standpoint I haven't been able to change

[27:50] in the last 25 years because I was

[27:52] altered from that experience and that

[27:54] became my

[27:56] identity are you with me still now if

[27:59] those

[28:01] emotions are driving the person's

[28:05] thoughts Their Fear their unworthiness

[28:08] their insecurity their hatred their

[28:11] Prejudice their Envy their jealousy if

[28:14] those emotions are driving their

[28:15] thoughts and they're turning on

[28:17] different circuits in their brain that

[28:19] produce the same chemicals to feel more

[28:21] Envy or jealousy or hatred the moment

[28:24] they feel those emotions they it drives

[28:26] more thoughts and they get caught in

[28:29] this Loop of thinking and feeling and

[28:31] feeling and

[28:32] thinking the redundancy of that cycle

[28:35] conditions the body to become the

[28:37] mind and the body is the unconscious

[28:41] mind it does not know the difference

[28:43] between an actual experience in your

[28:45] life that creates an emotion and an

[28:48] emotion that you create by thought

[28:50] alone so when the person gets caught in

[28:53] the loop the body as the unconscious

[28:55] mind is believing it's living in the

[28:58] same past experience 24 hours a day 7

[29:02] days a week 365 days a year to the body

[29:06] the body's being tormented because it

[29:08] believes it's in the same past

[29:10] experience all the

[29:12] time and the repetition of that cycle

[29:15] keeps signaling the same gene in the

[29:17] same way and sooner or later the gene

[29:20] begins to wear out and the body begins

[29:23] to break

[29:25] down so of how you think in how you feel

[29:30] creates your state of

[29:32] being that thoughts are the language of

[29:34] the brain and feelings are the language

[29:37] of the

[29:38] body and how you think and how you feel

[29:42] creates your state of being then it

[29:43] would make sense that if you're thinking

[29:46] thoughts of self-depreciation of

[29:49] unworthiness and you begin to feel

[29:51] unworthy the moment you feel unworthy

[29:54] your brain is monitoring how the body's

[29:56] feeling it's going to generate more

[29:57] correspond ing thoughts equal to how you

[29:59] feel which is going to make more

[30:01] chemicals for you to feel unworthy and

[30:03] then you're going to think more unworthy

[30:04] thoughts and you do that enough times

[30:06] and someone's going to say to you what's

[30:07] wrong and you're going to say I am

[30:09] unworthy and when you command I am as a

[30:13] statement you are commanding your mind

[30:15] and body to a

[30:17] Destiny and the cycle of thinking and

[30:20] feeling over time that conditions the

[30:21] body to become the Mind means then to

[30:24] change is to be greater than your body

[30:27] be greater than circumstances that

[30:29] you've created biologically within

[30:32] you so

[30:34] then the body has been conditioned to be

[30:37] the Mind emotionally then the bodies in

[30:39] the past and the servant has become the

[30:41] master and most people think they're

[30:44] making choices with their conscious mind

[30:46] but they're not they're making choices

[30:48] with their body to reaffirm some emotion

[30:51] that's become part of their

[30:52] identity and Scientific American

[30:55] prestigious magazine last year said that

[30:58] when you talk about your past 50% of it

[31:02] isn't even the truth that you make it

[31:04] up that memory is

[31:07] creative and people tell the story of

[31:10] their past the narrative just to create

[31:13] the emotions and fire and wire the same

[31:15] circuits so they can reaffirm their

[31:19] identity so

[31:21] then in order for you to change

[31:24] then and become conscious of your

[31:27] unconscious thoughts the the moment you

[31:28] become aware of your automatic behaviors

[31:30] and emotions and if you're observing

[31:33] them it means you're no longer the

[31:35] program now you're the Consciousness

[31:38] observing that state of mind and body

[31:41] and you begin to objectify your

[31:42] subjective self and because of the size

[31:46] of the frontal lobe the crowning

[31:48] achievement of the human being 40% of

[31:50] your entire

[31:52] brain you can begin to pay attention to

[31:55] who you've been and modify your

[31:56] behaviors to do a better job in life

[31:59] life and so then think about

[32:02] this if you went to a

[32:06] wedding and you had two shots of tequila

[32:09] just making this up of

[32:12] course and then you know you had a

[32:13] little white wine and champagne and then

[32:16] you sat down at dinner and you had two

[32:18] big glasses of red wine and all of a

[32:19] sudden the music started playing and it

[32:21] was

[32:24] thumping and you got out there and you

[32:27] did your thing you know

[32:29] know you bit your bottom lip and you

[32:31] kicked your shoes off and you threw

[32:33] yourself around on dance floor and they

[32:35] were vide

[32:37] taping a wedding and you went in there

[32:39] and bumped a little bit and you did your

[32:42] whole

[32:44] thing and then they posted the wedding

[32:48] on the

[32:50] internet and you observed

[32:55] yourself do you think maybe the next

[32:57] time you might bring it in a little bit

[32:59] or become a little bit more aware of

[33:00] what you've done that's called Evolution

[33:03] you can observe yourself in the same

[33:08] way so then the moment you become

[33:11] conscious of those unconscious states of

[33:13] Mind and Body now you know where you are

[33:17] and where you need to

[33:19] go and crossing the river of change

[33:22] going from the old self to the new

[33:25] self the hardest part about change

[33:28] change is not making the same Choice as

[33:32] you did the day

[33:33] before the moment you say oh my god I've

[33:37] been a victim I've been complaining and

[33:38] blaming and making excuses and feeling

[33:40] sorry for myself and talking about other

[33:43] people and all of a sudden You observe

[33:45] yourself doing that and you say okay I'm

[33:50] going to

[33:52] stop and the first two hours of your day

[33:55] goes really well

[33:59] but the body

[34:00] now has been conditioned to be the mind

[34:03] and it's craving those chemicals of

[34:05] suffering because you've conditioned it

[34:07] that way it's modified its receptor

[34:09] sites and it's wanting that familiar

[34:13] feeling and all of a sudden you're not

[34:15] creating those thoughts behaviors and

[34:17] emotions and you break that chemical

[34:19] continuity and the body starts sending

[34:21] signals back to your brain influencing

[34:25] your thoughts and the next thing you

[34:27] know you start to hear these voices in

[34:29] your head that sound something like

[34:31] this why don't you start

[34:34] tomorrow tomorrow such a better day it's

[34:37] it's raining

[34:39] outside you broke a fingernail your day

[34:42] is

[34:43] ruined it's your mother's fault for sure

[34:46] no no no it's your ex-husband's fault

[34:48] that's why you are this way no there's

[34:50] something wrong with me I think there's

[34:52] maybe something wrong with me I need to

[34:53] see a therapist no no no no this doesn't

[34:56] feel right it feels right

[34:58] is to suffer and if you respond to that

[35:02] thought as if it's true that thought

[35:05] will lead to the same Choice which will

[35:06] lead to the same behaviors which create

[35:08] the same experience which will produce

[35:10] the same emotions and then you'll say

[35:11] this feels right but in fact it feels

[35:15] familiar and the moment you decide to

[35:18] modify

[35:20] yourself and you make a different choice

[35:22] you just stepped into that River and get

[35:25] ready because it's going to be

[35:26] uncomfortable

[35:28] it's going to feel unfamiliar there's

[35:30] going to be some uncertainty and you're

[35:31] not going to be able to predict the next

[35:35] moment and going from the old self to

[35:38] the new self and Crossing that River you

[35:40] are stepping into the unknown you're

[35:43] stepping into that void and that void is

[35:47] the biological the neurological the

[35:49] chemical the hormonal and the genetic

[35:51] death of the old self and people say to

[35:53] me all the time Dr Joe I'm in the

[35:56] unknown I can't predict my future and I

[35:58] always tell them the same thing the best

[36:00] way to predict your future is to create

[36:02] it not from the known but from the

[36:06] unknown what thoughts do you want to

[36:08] fire and wire in your brain what

[36:11] behaviors can you demonstrate in one day

[36:14] in one Lifetime and can you begin to

[36:16] rehearse those behaviors and install the

[36:18] circuitry in your brain that Hardware if

[36:21] you keep doing it becomes a software

[36:23] program and you'll begin to think within

[36:26] those circuits now here's the most

[36:28] important

[36:30] part can you teach your body emotionally

[36:35] what that future will feel like ahead of

[36:37] the actual

[36:39] event now to the materialists they would

[36:41] say well why would I give thanks if it

[36:43] hasn't happened yet why would I feel

[36:45] this way if the experience hasn't

[36:47] occurred but if the experience from the

[36:49] environment produces an emotion and it's

[36:52] the environment that signals the Gene

[36:54] and you understand that when you create

[36:56] an elevated emotion with a clear

[36:58] attention you're signaling the gene to

[37:00] make a new protein to prepare the body

[37:02] for the event biologically

[37:04] neurologically

[37:05] energetically then you won't wait for

[37:08] your wholeness your healing to feel

[37:10] wholeness you won't wait for your

[37:13] abundance to feel wealth you won't wait

[37:16] for your success to feel empowerment you

[37:19] won't wait for your new relationship to

[37:20] feel love you won't wait for the

[37:22] mystical moment to feel awe that's the

[37:25] old model of reality of cause and effect

[37:28] waiting for something outside of you to

[37:30] change how you feel inside of you the

[37:33] moment you feel differently inside of

[37:34] you you pay attention to whatever caused

[37:36] it outside of you that's Newtonian

[37:38] physics the

[37:40] predictable but the quantum model of

[37:42] reality is about causing effect and that

[37:45] means the moment you start feeling whole

[37:47] you begin to heal the moment you start

[37:49] feeling empowered you're headed for your

[37:52] success the moment you're in awe with

[37:55] life and the moment you're going to have

[37:57] a mystical experience the moment you

[37:59] feel so worthy to receive your abundance

[38:03] Begins the moment you're in love with

[38:05] yourself and in love with life you will

[38:07] create an equal the moment you're in a

[38:10] state of gratitude your new job or your

[38:13] new event or your new possibility comes

[38:16] and that's causing an

[38:18] effect and so most people reach a point

[38:21] where they're brought to such a lowest

[38:23] level that they can observe themselves

[38:26] because they don't feel like themselves

[38:29] but you can combine a clear intention a

[38:31] vision of the future with an elevated

[38:35] emotion and when you combine those two

[38:37] things your brain and body just move

[38:39] from living in the past to living in the

[38:42] future and if you do that properly every

[38:45] single day you will cross that

[38:48] River and when you cross that River and

[38:50] you arrive at the other side there will

[38:52] be new experiences new opportunities and

[38:55] new events for you to walk into

[39:00] when you combine that clear intention

[39:02] with an elevated emotion and you're in

[39:03] an elevated State you can look at

[39:05] yourself the old self from an elevated

[39:07] State instead of a limited

[39:10] State and I tell people all the

[39:13] time that either you're going to be

[39:15] defined by a vision of the future or the

[39:17] memories of the

[39:19] past and when you stop creating a future

[39:22] it just means you're more in love with

[39:24] your past than you are with your future

[39:27] that's it

[39:28] and it's so much easier to lose sight of

[39:32] a vision or a memory of the future than

[39:34] it is to re review the

[39:38] past and so then think about

[39:42] this the biggest

[39:45] reason that people give up on their

[39:48] Vision their

[39:50] dreams is because the hormones of

[39:53] stress and stress is when your brain and

[39:56] body are knocked out of home

[39:58] homeostasis stress is when your brain

[40:00] and body are knocked out of balance the

[40:03] stress response is what your body

[40:06] innately does to return itself back to

[40:09] order you have three types of stress you

[40:11] have physical stress like trauma

[40:13] accidents injuries Falls you have

[40:15] chemical stress like flu and viruses and

[40:18] bacteria blood sugar levels hormones

[40:23] hangovers and then you have emotional

[40:25] stress like single parenting second

[40:27] mortgages 401ks family tragedies kids

[40:31] finances and all of those things knock

[40:34] your brain and body out of

[40:37] balance now all organisms in nature can

[40:40] tolerate short-term

[40:42] stress the deer in the woods that gets

[40:44] chased by a pack of coyotes the moment

[40:46] the deer sees that external stimulation

[40:50] it turns on a primitive nervous system

[40:52] called the fight ORF flight nervous

[40:53] system the sympathetic nervous system

[40:55] and it mobilizes enormous amounts of

[40:57] energy to prepare itself for that threat

[41:00] in the

[41:02] environment and if the deer outruns the

[41:05] coyotes 15 minutes later it goes back to

[41:08] grazing and the event is over returns

[41:10] back to homeostasis short-term stress we

[41:12] can all tolerate

[41:14] that but human beings are a little

[41:18] different

[41:20] because they could have a confrontation

[41:23] with a coworker or their

[41:25] boss and they can perceive that boss as

[41:28] a

[41:30] predator and what was once highly

[41:32] adaptive now becomes very

[41:35] maladaptive because when you turn on the

[41:37] stress response and you can't turn it

[41:38] off now you're headed for disease cuz no

[41:41] organism can live in emergency mode for

[41:44] extended periods of time and it's a

[41:46] scientific fact that most people in the

[41:48] Western World spend 70% of their time

[41:52] living in survival living in

[41:55] stress and if you keep mobilizing in all

[41:58] of this energy for some threat in your

[42:00] external environment there's no energy

[42:02] in your internal environment for growth

[42:04] and repair there's no energy for

[42:07] long-term building projects you've

[42:08] tapped the reserve and the immune system

[42:11] becomes compromised and the body breaks

[42:15] down but human beings because of the

[42:18] size of the

[42:19] neocortex can turn on the stress

[42:22] response just by thought

[42:24] alone you can think about some future

[42:27] worst cas scenario in your mind and you

[42:29] can attend to it to the exclusion of

[42:32] everything else and make it real or you

[42:35] can unfold the past bitter memory that's

[42:37] tattooed in the recesses of your gray

[42:39] matter and bring it to life and your

[42:41] body experiences the same

[42:45] chemicals so

[42:47] then if it's a scientific fact that the

[42:50] hormones of stress down regulate genes

[42:52] to create disease and I just said you

[42:55] can turn on the stress response just by

[42:57] thought

[42:58] alone that means that your thoughts can

[43:00] literally make you

[43:02] sick so if your thoughts can make you

[43:04] sick is it possible that your thoughts

[43:06] can make you well poke the person next

[43:09] to you

[43:11] please now those hormones of stress are

[43:14] highly addictive they give the brain and

[43:17] body A Rush of energy and people begin

[43:21] to use the conditions and problems in

[43:23] their life to reaffirm their emotional

[43:26] addiction

[43:29] so then if you're using the conditions

[43:32] in your external environment to reaffirm

[43:34] your addiction emotionally that means

[43:36] you can become addicted to the life you

[43:38] don't even

[43:40] like and if you can turn on the stress

[43:43] response just by thought

[43:45] alone and the stress chemicals are

[43:48] addictive you can become addicted to

[43:50] your own thoughts as well and this is

[43:52] why change is so

[43:54] hard and so when you begin to react to

[43:57] something or someone we've measured this

[44:00] you draw from this invisible field of

[44:03] vital

[44:04] energy and you turn it into chemistry

[44:07] and the field around your body literally

[44:10] shrinks and if you keep doing that that

[44:13] vital life force diminishes and

[44:15] diminishes and you have no energy for

[44:17] healing or no energy to create a new

[44:20] life because you are now matter trying

[44:23] to change matter and when you reach that

[44:26] point you will always try to force the

[44:28] outcomes in your life control the

[44:30] outcomes in your life predict the

[44:32] outcomes in your life and hold and cling

[44:34] on to things that you find

[44:37] important because the very hormones of

[44:40] stress cause us to become materialists

[44:43] defining reality with our senses and the

[44:46] rush of those chemicals cause us to

[44:49] believe that the outer world is more

[44:50] real than the inner

[44:52] world and when an organism is being

[44:55] threatened and being chased in its

[44:56] environment it only has a few options

[44:58] run hide or fight that's

[45:03] it so if you're living by the hormones

[45:05] of stress every single day and your

[45:07] senses are

[45:09] heightened it means then that you become

[45:12] more of your body because if you're

[45:14] being chased by a predator you put your

[45:16] attention on your body and you got to

[45:18] take care of

[45:19] it your attention goes on the

[45:21] environment the immediate environment

[45:24] and your environment is made up of

[45:25] people places things objects pets

[45:30] time and then of course you're thinking

[45:33] about time where am I going to go and

[45:34] how much time do I have to get there and

[45:36] people begin to fall into the illusion

[45:40] that they think they're their

[45:42] bodies they think that there are their

[45:44] identities that's connected to people

[45:46] and objects and

[45:47] places and they think that time is

[45:50] linear and we become enslaved into this

[45:54] Dimension and over time it's going to

[45:58] take time to get things that we want in

[46:00] our life our goals or our dreams because

[46:03] we are matter trying to change matter

[46:06] and you have to drag your body through

[46:08] space to get what you want back and

[46:11] forth to work to pay for the house and

[46:13] the 30-year

[46:15] mortgage we become enslaved to three

[46:20] dimensions

[46:22] now that state of

[46:24] creation you will no longer feel

[46:27] separated

[46:28] and we've measured this many many

[46:31] times there comes a moment when you are

[46:35] truly in the present

[46:38] moment that I call the creative

[46:41] moment that you are so present with

[46:44] whatever you're attending

[46:46] to that you forget that you have a

[46:50] body you forget your identity you forget

[46:53] about things and places and people and

[46:57] time

[46:59] and in that elegant moment of the

[47:01] generous present moment you become

[47:04] nobody no one no thing nowhere in no

[47:10] time and in that moment you become pure

[47:15] Consciousness and if you do that

[47:17] properly you just walk through the door

[47:19] to the quantum field because you can't

[47:22] enter that place as a

[47:24] somebody you go as a nobody

[47:29] and if you are going to heal your body

[47:32] by thought alone you got to get beyond

[47:34] your

[47:35] body if you are going to change some

[47:37] aspect of your identity or your

[47:39] personality you got to get beyond your

[47:42] personality and

[47:43] identity if you are going to create

[47:46] something new in your life you got to

[47:48] get beyond all the things that possess

[47:50] you the places you have to go and how

[47:53] much time you have to get

[47:56] there once you teach a person how to do

[48:00] this they go from

[48:03] somebody to nobody to everybody isn't

[48:07] that the quantum field from someone to

[48:10] no one to

[48:13] everyone from something to nothing to

[48:15] everything from somewhere to Nowhere to

[48:18] everywhere from sometime to no time to

[48:20] every time and now they have the ability

[48:24] to

[48:26] create and so

[48:28] amazing we've seen this on functional

[48:31] brain scans when we've measured our

[48:32] students in the act of

[48:35] meditation that I can tell you right now

[48:38] without a doubt that you are at your

[48:41] absolute best absolute best when you get

[48:44] Beyond

[48:45] yourself I can tell you that when you

[48:47] live by the hormones of stress you will

[48:49] narrow your focus on objects and things

[48:52] because that's where the danger is and

[48:54] you'll shut your heart down and become

[48:56] selfish that's what the chemicals do cuz

[48:58] when you're under stress you got to take

[49:00] care of yourself and most people spend

[49:03] their entire lives closed

[49:06] down and so in order to create according

[49:09] to the quantum model you have to lay

[49:11] down the very thing you used your whole

[49:13] life to get what you want for something

[49:15] greater to

[49:17] occur and doing it properly we've

[49:19] measured this the person reaches that

[49:23] point where they surrender into the

[49:25] present moment and we can predict when

[49:26] it's going to happen if their brain is

[49:28] hooked

[49:29] up and all of a sudden we start to see

[49:33] these downloads coming right into the

[49:35] nervous system and the front of the

[49:37] brain starts synchronizing with the back

[49:39] of the brain the right side of the brain

[49:41] is synchronizing with the left side of

[49:42] the brain the brain is going into this

[49:44] psychic Union a whole brain

[49:47] State when you live by the hormones of

[49:49] stress and you're trying to control and

[49:51] predict everything in your life and

[49:52] you're shifting your attention to your

[49:54] husband or your wife or your coworker or

[49:56] your problems the pets or the kids or

[49:58] you start shifting your attention your

[50:00] brain begins to activate different

[50:02] neurological networks and when that

[50:03] occurs your brain gets very

[50:06] incoherent and when your brain is

[50:07] incoherent you're incoherent and when

[50:10] your brain isn't working right you're

[50:11] not working right but when you teach

[50:14] people how to take their attention off

[50:16] their body their environment and

[50:18] time instead of narrow their focus open

[50:20] their focus you've measured it thousands

[50:23] of

[50:24] times you're no longer thinking you're

[50:27] no longer analyzing and all of a sudden

[50:29] those different circuits in the brain

[50:30] that were subdivided begin to unify they

[50:33] begin to synchronize and what sinks in

[50:36] the brain links in the brain and all the

[50:39] energy that's sitting in these lower

[50:40] centers moves right up into the heart

[50:42] we've measured it over and over again

[50:45] and all of a sudden the heart becomes

[50:47] coherent because when you're frustrated

[50:49] and you're impatient and you're angry

[50:51] and you're resentful your heart is

[50:52] beating out of order it's incoherent

[50:55] just like the brain

[50:57] the moment that energy hits the heart

[50:59] and you start feeling gratitude and

[51:01] feeling love and feeling freedom and

[51:04] inspiration the heart starts beating in

[51:06] a rhythmic fashion and like a drum boom

[51:10] boom or dropping a pebble in water it

[51:13] creates a measurable magnetic field now

[51:17] you're beginning to create energy around

[51:20] your body you're going from particle to

[51:23] wave from matter to energy and you will

[51:25] no longer feel separate from objects and

[51:28] things you'll start to feel connected to

[51:31] everything and when that occurs that

[51:34] measurable magnetic field can be up to 9

[51:37] M

[51:39] wide and all energy is

[51:42] frequency and all frequency carries

[51:44] information and if you're able to

[51:46] sustain that elevated emotion you're

[51:48] dropping Pebble after Pebble after

[51:52] Pebble and you are creating

[51:55] waves and if you can feel

[51:57] deeply and profoundly you're dropping

[52:00] stones and it's creating a bigger wave

[52:04] and that energy is frequency and all

[52:06] frequency carries information and when

[52:08] you lay the intent or the thought on

[52:10] that energy the carrier wave you're

[52:12] broadcasting a whole new electromagnetic

[52:16] signature and whatever you broadcast

[52:18] into the field is your experiment with

[52:21] Destiny because thoughts are the

[52:24] electrical charge in the quantum field

[52:27] and feelings are the magnetic charge and

[52:30] how you think and how you feel broadcast

[52:33] an electromagnetic signature that

[52:35] influences every single atom in your

[52:38] life the thought sends the signal out

[52:41] and the feeling draws the event back and

[52:43] in this elegant moment when the brain is

[52:46] going into a whole brain

[52:49] State and that energy hits the heart we

[52:52] could walk around and look at that

[52:54] person whose brain's being scanned and

[52:56] their hearts being scanned and there are

[52:58] tears of joy rolling down their face

[53:01] they are connected to the Divine that

[53:04] intelligence that giving them life

[53:06] that's keeping their heart beating and

[53:07] digesting their food that autonomic

[53:09] nervous system the conscious mind has

[53:12] unified with it and as they become

[53:15] nobody no one no thing nowhere and no

[53:18] time their Consciousness merges with the

[53:20] consciousness of the quantum field an

[53:23] objective Consciousness a loving

[53:25] intelligence and intelligent love and

[53:27] when they come back to their senses they

[53:29] take a piece of it with him and they

[53:31] become more like it more loving it's a

[53:34] loving intelligence more giving it's a

[53:36] Giver of Life more conscious it's a

[53:39] Consciousness more mindful it has an

[53:41] infinite mind more willful it has an

[53:42] amazing will its nature becomes their

[53:45] nature its mind becomes their mind and

[53:47] they go from selfish to selfless because

[53:51] they feel so

[53:52] whole and So Satisfied and so complete

[53:56] that it is imp possible to want how can

[53:59] you want when you're whole and I call

[54:02] that the natural state of being and that

[54:06] person is eclipsing with the Divine that

[54:09] self-organizing intelligence is moving

[54:11] through them and it is the most familiar

[54:15] unfamiliar feeling I've ever had in my

[54:17] life and when you feel so whole that you

[54:20] no longer want anything that's when the

[54:23] magic happens because you're no longer

[54:25] creating from Polar ity or Duality or

[54:28] lack you are it

[54:31] already and that is our

[54:34] Birthright and all of a sudden now the

[54:36] person takes their tension off the

[54:37] particle in quantum physics and puts it

[54:39] on the wave of possibility and they

[54:41] begin to create and they have a very

[54:44] clear intention because their brain is

[54:46] coherent they combine it with an

[54:48] elevated emotion is because energy moves

[54:50] into their heart and we've measured it

[54:51] enough times their field around their

[54:53] body is broaden we've seen it over and

[54:55] over again if you have Comm of 750

[54:58] people in a room at an event and they're

[54:59] all doing it the energy of the room goes

[55:01] up we've measured that we've measured

[55:04] the person's cortisol levels and their

[55:06] IGA

[55:07] levels 120 people they come to an event

[55:11] we measure their stress hormones as your

[55:13] stress hormones go up your immune system

[55:15] goes down so we measured IGA

[55:17] immunoglobulin a the primary defense

[55:19] against bacteria and viruses the better

[55:22] than any flu shot you'll ever

[55:25] take and we said okay let's see what

[55:27] happens we'll take a community of 120

[55:29] people in this event and we'll teach

[55:31] them how to open their heart and sustain

[55:34] gratitude and appreciation and care and

[55:36] kindness and love just for 10 minutes

[55:38] two or three times a day is it possible

[55:41] that the cortisol levels go down and

[55:43] their IG level IGA levels go up at the

[55:46] end of 5

[55:47] days their cortisol levels drop three

[55:51] standard deviations scientific history

[55:54] their IGA levels went from 51 and and a

[55:57] half to 83 scientific history they began

[56:00] to upregulate new genes in 5

[56:05] days they weren't a Buddhist monk they

[56:08] weren't a nun with 40 Years of devotion

[56:10] they weren't a cabalistic rabbi they

[56:12] weren't an academic they weren't a

[56:14] scholar they were a common person just

[56:15] like you 10 minutes of gratitude every

[56:19] day is better than any flu shot I

[56:22] measured

[56:23] it so then when you begin to piece this

[56:27] together and realize that you have

[56:29] within your reach all the tools to begin

[56:32] to create the life you want and you take

[56:35] time out of your busy life just for a

[56:38] period of time every single day to

[56:41] become familiar with your unconscious

[56:43] thoughts become aware of your automatic

[56:46] behaviors and notice become conscious of

[56:50] your emotional states that is exactly

[56:53] what the word meditation means to become

[56:55] familiar with

[56:57] and as you begin to think about a better

[56:59] way to think and you fire and wire those

[57:02] circuits in your brain and you begin to

[57:04] plan and rehearse how you're going to

[57:06] act in one day one lifetime if you do

[57:09] that properly you begin to install the

[57:11] neurological hardware and the hardware

[57:14] over time becomes a software program

[57:16] it'll begin to become familiar and

[57:18] easier for you and if you can cultivate

[57:21] an elevated emotion every single day and

[57:24] keep combining it with a clear intention

[57:26] sooner or later that elevated emotion is

[57:28] going to begin to become familiar to

[57:30] you so the process of change is

[57:33] unlearning and relearning it's breaking

[57:36] the habit of the old self and

[57:37] Reinventing the new self it's pruning

[57:40] synaptic Connections in neuroscience and

[57:42] sprouting new

[57:43] connections it's uniring and unwiring

[57:46] and reiring and rewiring it's

[57:56] losing your mind and creating a new one

[57:59] it's changing your energy from The

[58:00] Familiar past into an energy of a new

[58:04] future and common people around the

[58:06] world are beginning to do

[58:09] this and so I want to close by saying

[58:12] there's a

[58:13] concept in science that I love it's

[58:17] called

[58:18] emergence you ever see a group of birds

[58:20] all turning in the same direction in a

[58:22] big flock I was just in Austin Texas and

[58:24] under this bridge every night at Sunset

[58:27] comes billions of bats and they fly

[58:29] along the river for Miles all in this

[58:33] pattern or you see a group of fish all

[58:35] turning at the same time that concept is

[58:38] called emergence in biology when you

[58:40] study it everybody thinks that there's

[58:42] some leader that all the other organisms

[58:45] are following that it's like a top- down

[58:48] phenomenon turns out there's no

[58:51] leader it's actually a bottom up

[58:54] phenomenon they're all leading they're

[58:57] all connected as one mind to one level

[59:00] of Consciousness and they're all

[59:01] behaving in the same

[59:03] way think about this you and I have a

[59:06] stigma in our mind that if you lead with

[59:08] too much passion in your life you're

[59:10] going to get it in the end whether

[59:12] you're Martin Luther King or John Lennon

[59:14] or Abraham Lincoln or mahat mandhi Joon

[59:16] of Arc people don't want to live for the

[59:19] truth anymore because they're afraid

[59:21] they may have to die for

[59:23] it but what if

[59:26] everybody's

[59:28] leading can't just take out everybody

[59:30] now can

[59:31] you the coming of this

[59:35] age is that a new Consciousness has to

[59:38] emerge that you are the person that

[59:40] you're waiting

[59:41] for that if you're working on your fear

[59:44] and your anxiety and someone else is

[59:46] working on their anger and bitterness

[59:48] and everybody's overcoming themselves

[59:49] and they're going from a limited State

[59:51] of Consciousness to an elevated State of

[59:53] Consciousness and we're all behaving an

[59:55] altruistic ways

[59:57] we create a new Consciousness and that

[1:00:00] new species of human beings

[1:00:03] emerges we took a community of 750

[1:00:06] people and we had them Elevate their

[1:00:09] energy we had 70 people in the front row

[1:00:12] wearing heart rate

[1:00:14] monitors and all they did in the front

[1:00:16] row was receive everybody else in the

[1:00:18] room sent the intent on that elevated

[1:00:21] emotion for the greatest good of those

[1:00:22] people wearing heart rate monitors and

[1:00:25] 90% of those people all went into heart

[1:00:27] coherence at the exact same time the

[1:00:30] exact same meditation the exact same day

[1:00:32] you see we are bound by an invisible

[1:00:34] field of energy creates community and

[1:00:38] it's those elevated emotions of

[1:00:39] gratitude and love that unifies us and

[1:00:43] everything in the world is reminding us

[1:00:45] to become separate and

[1:00:47] selfish causing us to feel lack and

[1:00:51] unworthy Prejudice or

[1:00:54] competitive but when you overcome those

[1:00:56] emotional states that keep you anchored

[1:00:58] to the past the side effect of that is

[1:01:01] called wisdom and I can tell you from

[1:01:04] experience when the Unseen when the

[1:01:07] magic starts happening in your life and

[1:01:09] things start appearing out of nowhere

[1:01:11] because you created them from nowhere

[1:01:13] where something appears out of nothing

[1:01:15] CU you created it from nothing and when

[1:01:17] it happens in no time because you

[1:01:19] created in no

[1:01:21] time and you say to yourself is this odd

[1:01:26] or is is it

[1:01:27] God you will look back at your entire

[1:01:30] life and you will not want to change one

[1:01:34] thing in your past because it brought

[1:01:37] you to that present moment and that's

[1:01:39] the moment the past no longer exists and

[1:01:42] the emotion from that experience should

[1:01:45] inspire you to create your next

[1:01:48] experience and that's called Evolution

[1:01:50] thanks for listening

In this talk, Dispenza describes reprogramming as replacing repeated thoughts, behaviors and emotional reactions with new ones until the body runs them automatically. He argues that knowledge alone is not enough, because change requires the body to have the experience. Repetition is what makes the new pattern feel like second nature.
Dispenza says it does, and he cites a Nobel laureate he names as Kandel, who he says found that learning one bit of information doubled the brain's connections from 1,300 to 2,600. He adds that if the information is not reviewed or repeated, those circuits prune apart within hours or days. The figures are presented as Dispenza gives them in the video.
He argues that information stays intellectual until you act on it and feel it, at which point the body learns it emotionally and chemically. He describes a progression from philosopher to initiate to master, moving from knowledge to experience to wisdom. The point is that embodied practice, not understanding, produces lasting change.
In the talk, Dispenza says people think about 60,000 to 70,000 thoughts in one day, and that about 90 percent of them are the same as the day before. He uses this to argue that repetitive thinking leads to repetitive choices, behaviors and experiences. He presents the figure as science.
Dispenza uses the neuroscience principle to explain habit formation: the more often a set of neurons fire together, the more strongly they are wired. Repeated thoughts, behaviors and emotions therefore strengthen the same circuits. Breaking a habit means firing different circuits repeatedly until those become the default.
He says most people wait for crisis, trauma, disease, diagnosis, tragedy or loss before they decide to change. His counter is to ask why wait, and to point out that people can learn and change in joy and inspiration as well as in pain. He frames the choice as a deliberate one.
The video description links this talk to Dispenza's book Becoming Supernatural and presents it as the companion text. The talk itself covers ideas on thought, habit, emotion and personal change that align with the book's themes. Readers who want the full argument can find it in the book.
