The BrightStar Brand Ambassador program pays you when an organizer you referred sells tickets. You earn 20% of the platform fee BrightStar charges on their sales.

Maybe you know a retreat host, a sound healer or a kirtan leader who would love a gentler way to sell tickets. When you bring them in, the connection between you and them is kept, and it does not end after one event.

How a referral is linked to you

There are two ways an organizer becomes your referral.

By your link or invitation. You share your personal referral link, or send an invitation email in your name. The link opens BrightStar's Be Found page in your language. When the person signs up through your link, they are linked to you. You can send up to 100 invitation emails at a time. You can edit the message, but the link and the footer always stay. BrightStar uses the addresses only to send the emails and does not store the list.

By a ticket they bought. If someone bought a ticket to an event that has the Brand Ambassador program switched on, and later signs up, they can be linked to that event's organizer automatically.

The link is permanent and the first one wins. A person already linked to someone is not linked again, and you cannot refer yourself.

What you earn

You earn 20% of BrightStar's platform fee on each ticket sale the referred organizer makes. It is not 20% of the ticket price. The share comes out of BrightStar's own fee, so the organizer you referred pays the same as anyone else, and their buyers pay nothing extra.

The amount depends on the organizer's plan for that event. Seva has no platform fee, so a Seva sale earns you nothing. Elevate charges $0.89 plus 1.85% per ticket. For example, on a $20 Elevate ticket the platform fee is $1.26 and your share is about $0.25.

Free orders carry no fees, so they earn nothing either. Earnings in different currencies are kept separate and are never added together.

When earnings show as pending

Each earning is recorded when the referred organizer makes a sale, and it starts out as pending.

How you get paid

Payouts are made by the BrightStar team to your connected Stripe account. They are not sent automatically when you earn.

  1. 1Connect your Stripe account and finish setting it up so it is confirmed.
  2. 2The earning changes from pending to paid once the transfer is made.
  3. 3If your Stripe account is not connected or confirmed, the earning stays pending.
When your unpaid earnings reach $50 or more and Stripe is not connected, BrightStar emails you that funds are waiting, with a reminder about once a week. Connecting Stripe early means your earnings can be paid when the team gets to them. The ambassador program is separate from affiliate commissions for single events, and you can earn from both on the same sale.

Common questions

How much do I earn from the BrightStar Brand Ambassador program?

You earn 20% of the platform fee BrightStar charges on a referred organizer's ticket sales. It is not a share of the ticket price. The share comes out of BrightStar's fee, so the organizer you referred pays nothing extra.

On an Elevate event the platform fee is $0.89 plus 1.85% per ticket. On a $20 ticket that is $1.26, so your share is about $0.25.

Do I earn when a referred organizer uses the free Seva plan on BrightStar?

No. Seva has no platform fee, and your BrightStar ambassador share is 20% of that fee, so it is nothing. You earn on sales where BrightStar charges a fee, such as Elevate events.

Free orders also carry no fees, so a free ticket on a paid plan does not earn you anything either.

How does an organizer become my referral on BrightStar?

They sign up for BrightStar after following your referral link or invitation email. Someone who bought a ticket to an event with the Brand Ambassador program on can also be linked to that event's organizer automatically. Once linked, the link is permanent and cannot be changed.

The first link wins. A person who is already linked to an ambassador is not linked again, and you cannot refer yourself.

When does BrightStar pay my ambassador earnings?

BrightStar's team pays earnings by Stripe transfer to your connected Stripe account. Payouts are made by the team and are not automatic. Until then the earning shows as pending, and it becomes paid once the transfer is made.

If your Stripe account is not connected and confirmed, the earning stays pending. Once $50 or more is waiting, BrightStar emails you about once a week to remind you to connect.

Does the organizer I refer to BrightStar pay more because of me?

No. Your share comes from BrightStar's own platform fee, not from the organizer's payout. The organizer you referred pays what any BrightStar organizer on their plan pays, and their ticket buyers pay nothing extra.
