Energy Healing, Potential, and the Art of Relaxing Into Health

On the Sunshine Coast, a thunderstorm was forecast, and Sarah McCrum was anticipating it with the easy humor of someone who had left England about fifteen years earlier. Tom Evans, the host of The Zone Show, had a list of coincidences ready before the first question: they had both worked at the BBC, both had authored programs for the same producer, and both were healers, though neither had planned to be. In a conversation published on YouTube in November 2014, McCrum unspools how a high-achieving schoolteacher became a practitioner of energy healing, what she believes healing actually requires, and why she thinks most people are working against their own recovery without knowing it. It is a short, dense interview, and its central argument is simple to state and harder to live: the body heals most readily when it can relax and receive.

How Did a Top Student End Up Leaving the Classroom for Healing?

McCrum's early life was mapped out for her. "When I was a kid I was like always top in school," she recalls, and her father would tell her she was "the creme de la creme," with options that ranged from the top of the civil service to being a headmistress by thirty or a lawyer. She chose teaching. She didn't like it. By twenty-eight, she was nowhere near a headship, nowhere near the civil service, and not remotely interested in law. The gap between expectation and reality is the first thread of the interview, and it is worth lingering on, because it reads less like a career change than a slow admission that the script had been written by someone else.

The turn came at thirty. Her sister was diagnosed with a brain tumour and died about twenty-one months later. McCrum describes the loss as the thing that "completely changed my direction in life," and what she remembers most clearly is a realization: "nobody was going to take care of my health if I didn't." She began to take her own wellbeing seriously, to the point that colleagues at the BBC found it remarkable that she was leaving the office at six in the evening. The change was more than a lifestyle adjustment. It was a refusal to hand her health over to a system that had not, in her experience, protected her sister.

The moment that opened the door to natural health was almost anticlimactic in its simplicity. Some six months after her sister's death, she felt, in her words, "just one big blockage." She went to an acupuncturist, and the blockage released, or disappeared, within an hour. She calls it phenomenal, and it is the hinge of her story: a physical sensation shifting quickly enough to convince her that there was a different kind of knowledge available outside the conventional clinic.

Why Doesn't Sarah McCrum Call Herself a Healer?

One of the most quietly provocative exchanges in the interview concerns labels. McCrum says she never really realized she was a healer for a long time, and it was not a word she would have given herself. Yet she has seen people come to her and get healed. Her resolution is a principle she puts plainly: "I always think it's what other people call you, not what you call yourself."

That distinction matters for anyone thinking about this work. It shifts the question from identity to outcome. A practitioner who insists on the title may be performing a role; a practitioner who notices what happens in the room may be paying closer attention to the energy itself. McCrum does not pretend the label is false, but she locates the authority in results rather than self-description, which is a more modest and, arguably, more honest position than most wellness marketing allows.

Is Potential Something You Can Ever Fully Reach?

Asked whether she has reached her full potential, McCrum pauses on the word itself. She realized only recently that her whole story about potential had been shaped by that early promise of greatness that never materialized, and that she had been searching and researching for much of her life. Her reflection cuts against the usual self-help promise. Potential, she suggests, is not a summit. "Everything you reach there's always going to be more potential opening up in front of you," she says, and she frames that endlessness as the thing that keeps us alive and awake.

What changed for her was not the size of the goal but the reliability of the path. She describes having "a map, if you like": a set of ground rules she learned from teachers she admires. She is careful to say the map is not a list of specific actions. It is a structure. Before she had it, she says, growth felt like "a guessing game," hit and miss, with the sense that she might make something of herself one day or completely miss it. Now she feels she has "the pieces," and the remaining work is doing it. That shift, from uncertainty to method, is the practical heart of her view.

What Would Sarah McCrum Tell a Younger Version of Herself?

Tom Evans invites her to imagine advising the 30-year-old she once was, and her answer begins with a physical instruction rather than a philosophical one. Before anything else, she says, we need to learn to relax. "You can't really do anything if you're not able to relax," she tells him. Most of us, she argues, rush through life tensed up, and "everything turns around when you're able to relax and when you're able to receive energy." She talks about energy often in the interview and treats its reception as fundamental. The implication is that effort, however sincere, can become a kind of obstruction if it arrives in a body braced against what it is trying to receive.

She would also send that younger self to a few teachers quickly, and to the courses. But she frames the wider project as one of education. She says she would put this understanding into schools and would teach five-year-olds about energy and "the true laws of nature." Her hope is that these ideas would become ordinary knowledge rather than a specialist rarity, the way basic biology is ordinary now. Growth, in her telling, builds in steps: the further you go, the more steps open up about what you need to learn next.

How Does Reframing Pain Work in Energy Healing?

McCrum says she teaches people about pain, and she teaches them to look at it "in a completely different way from what they've ever learned from doctors or anybody else." Her claim is that pain can be easier to heal than people assume, but only when the person has the right understanding. "If you don't have the understanding it doesn't happen," she says. The interview does not lay out a step-by-step technique in its opening passages, and it would be irresponsible to invent one. What it does show is the emphasis: a change of perspective is treated as the precondition for change in the body.

It is worth holding that claim alongside the rest of the conversation with some care. McCrum is describing her own practice and her own convictions, not offering a clinical study. Listeners who are living with pain are best served by treating her perspective as one voice in a wider conversation with qualified medical care, rather than as a replacement for it. The interview itself does not present these ideas as a substitute for doctors; it presents them as a different lens that she believes has been missing.

How Should You Choose an Energy Teacher?

The question of teachers draws out one of McCrum's sharpest observations. Does it matter which teacher you choose, or should you simply let the right one appear? Her answer is both. Teachers will appear, but the process works poorly for people who are unclear about what they want. She has seen people choose teachers "at a lower level than them," not because they were foolish, but because they had no map of the levels involved. "They literally didn't know what was up and what was down," she says, and some ended up with people who were pulling them down rather than up.

Her remedy is discernment and clarity. Know what you actually want, and the flow of teachers into your life becomes more trustworthy. She is candid that she herself coaches people and teaches courses, including online ones, and describes her coaching as quite specific and top end, "not for everybody." Whether or not one accepts her framing, the underlying point holds up: a seeker who cannot articulate the goal is vulnerable to whoever sounds most confident.

What Does the Interview Ask Listeners to Actually Do?

Toward the later stretch of the conversation, the interview shifts register. McCrum speaks about the continual healing she believes the body is always undergoing, and the transcript shows a guided passage in which the listener is asked to notice warmth in the body and to stay relaxed. The video's description promises that an ache or pain may ease while listening and invites viewers to see whether they can perceive a "halo" around her using the techniques discussed. Those are claims the viewer should experience and judge for themselves. What is consistent across the whole interview is the invitation: slow down, let the body soften, and stop treating healing as something that must be forced.

Where to go from here

If McCrum's ideas land with you, the most useful next step is to watch the full interview with the questions she raises in mind: what you are rushing toward, what you are bracing against, and what kind of map you actually have. Her own website, sarahmccrum.com, is the place she points to for her coaching, courses and healing work. Read it with the same discernment she recommends: know what you want before you commit to a teacher, and treat any dramatic promise, including the ones in a video description, as something to test in your own body over time.

"Everything turns around when you're able to relax and when you're able to receive energy."

[0:12] so hi i'm tom evans and welcome to

[0:14] another edition of the zone show and i'm

[0:17] thrilled and excited today to be

[0:18] speaking with sarah mccrum hi sarah

[0:21] hi tom so you're obviously an english

[0:23] woman but down in in sunny australia at

[0:26] the moment

[0:27] yeah i'm on the sunshine coast at the

[0:30] moment anticipating a thunderstorm so um

[0:33] but yeah it's about 15 years since i

[0:34] lived in england fantastic now you do

[0:37] realize that there are three

[0:38] coincidences that brought us together

[0:40] and of course there are no coincidences

[0:43] one we've both worked at the bbc

[0:46] yeah two we both uh authored programs

[0:49] for avenue we'll talk about a bit later

[0:51] yeah and three

[0:53] we've we're both healers but we never

[0:55] planned to be

[0:56] absolutely

[0:58] how did you know

[0:59] exactly so what was your journey to be

[1:02] to the healing arts and crafts

[1:05] huh

[1:06] you know when i was a kid i was like

[1:09] always top in school

[1:11] and my dad used to have little chats

[1:13] with me and tell me sarah you're the

[1:15] creme de la creme you can go to the top

[1:17] of the civil service or you can be a

[1:19] headmistress by the time you're 30 or

[1:20] you can be a lawyer and so that's what i

[1:22] thought i would do and i became a school

[1:24] teacher and i just didn't like it and by

[1:27] 28 i was nowhere near being a

[1:29] headmistress

[1:31] and

[1:32] nowhere near anywhere in the civil

[1:33] service and i wasn't interested in law

[1:36] at all

[1:37] but actually i guess what really

[1:39] triggered it when i was 30 my sister had

[1:42] a brain tumor

[1:43] and she died after about 21 months and i

[1:46] suppose that just completely

[1:49] changed my direction in life and i i

[1:52] just somehow remember realizing that

[1:55] nobody was going to take care of my

[1:57] health if i didn't and so i very quickly

[2:00] became a kind a bit of a health

[2:02] freak at the time probably and i started

[2:04] going home from the bbc at six o'clock

[2:06] in the evening which was in the

[2:08] department where i worked was absolutely

[2:10] unheard of so it became very boring

[2:13] they were drinking till 10.

[2:16] yeah and so

[2:17] i yes after about six months after she

[2:21] died i was so stuck

[2:23] and i was just like just like one big

[2:25] blockage and i saw an acupuncturist and

[2:28] she released it or it disappeared within

[2:30] one hour and it was absolutely

[2:32] phenomenal and i guess that kind of

[2:34] started the whole journey of

[2:36] natural health um

[2:39] and from there i started to learn more

[2:41] and more and do more and more stuff and

[2:42] i kind of i never really realized i was

[2:45] a healer for a very long time

[2:48] it wasn't a label i would have given

[2:49] myself but you know in the end it comes

[2:52] isn't that funny because i don't i don't

[2:54] really call myself a healer but i know

[2:55] that people that come along get healed

[2:58] and that sort of stuff yes

[2:59] yes i always think it's what other

[3:01] people call you not what you call

[3:02] yourself anyway

[3:03] yes i mean i tried oh god do you reckon

[3:06] that on your journey then you've you've

[3:08] reached your full potential

[3:12] no

[3:14] no um it's interesting this whole thing

[3:16] about potential because i realized only

[3:20] actually i only realized recently that

[3:22] my whole story about potential was

[3:25] because of this having started off with

[3:26] this so-called great potential that just

[3:29] didn't happen

[3:30] and then this switch in direction and i

[3:33] realized i'd actually been kind of

[3:35] searching for it and researching it

[3:37] for a lot of my life because it didn't

[3:39] work out the way it should do

[3:42] on one level probably we all feel

[3:44] there's this potential there's that part

[3:46] of us we haven't reached yet and of

[3:47] course you can't actually really reach

[3:49] that because everything you reach

[3:50] there's always going to be more

[3:51] potential opening up in front of you so

[3:54] in a way that's almost like um a trick

[3:56] question because

[3:58] it's good that we feel this

[4:00] potential expansion of ourselves that

[4:03] that's what makes us alive and awake

[4:06] but i think the thing that really

[4:07] changed for me

[4:09] and i'm extraordinarily grateful for is

[4:12] that i feel that i have now a map

[4:15] if you like i know what i need to do

[4:17] to develop whatever potential i want not

[4:21] in terms of the details the actions

[4:24] but because of various things i've

[4:25] learned from some really great people i

[4:27] have like

[4:28] really a little set of maps

[4:30] which give all the ground rules and

[4:35] once i had that i stopped feeling like

[4:37] it was a guessing game

[4:39] before i always felt like it's really

[4:41] hit and miss like i might

[4:44] kind of make something sometime or i

[4:46] might just continue in this like i've

[4:48] really completely missed it and

[4:49] everyone's a bit disappointed in sarah

[4:51] kind of thing and i don't really feel

[4:53] like that anymore i feel like i've got

[4:56] the pieces

[4:57] and now it's it's a question of doing it

[5:00] and it's a that's a very different place

[5:02] to be so if you had advice to someone

[5:04] that was like a younger sarah then at 30

[5:07] how would they go about this journey

[5:09] what because everyone's past different

[5:10] of course isn't it but what how can you

[5:12] generally start about this journey of of

[5:14] activating your potential and opening up

[5:16] to your full potential

[5:19] um

[5:19] i think if i was really talking to a

[5:21] younger sarah i would probably send them

[5:23] to a few teachers very quickly and get

[5:25] them to do the courses

[5:27] but if i would summarize that

[5:29] what i've kind of figured out um

[5:32] that are really really important things

[5:35] for everybody to develop their potential

[5:37] i feel that it's really important that

[5:39] we all are able to relax

[5:42] um like you can't really do anything if

[5:44] you're not able to relax

[5:46] and most of us rush around life not

[5:48] being very relaxed everything turns

[5:51] around when you're able to relax and

[5:53] when you're able to receive energy i

[5:56] talk about energy a lot and i just find

[5:59] it incredibly important

[6:01] so i would say that that's absolutely

[6:02] fundamental and not to imagine you can

[6:05] do anything very much if you're really

[6:07] tense all the time

[6:08] i think it is really important to

[6:13] um

[6:14] be able to

[6:16] well there's a whole different

[6:18] understanding

[6:19] of life

[6:20] of energy of potential of how we can

[6:24] live our life that is kind of coming in

[6:26] and people like you promote that kind of

[6:28] understanding

[6:30] and

[6:31] we need to learn that we need to

[6:33] actually get it into our heads we need

[6:35] to start to look at things differently

[6:37] so for example i teach people about pain

[6:40] i teach them to look at pain in a

[6:42] completely different way from what

[6:43] they've ever learned from doctors or

[6:46] anybody else and that's the way that

[6:48] it's really easy to heal pain but if you

[6:50] don't have the understanding

[6:52] it doesn't happen

[6:54] so i think we need a massive amount of

[6:56] education at the moment i mean i would

[6:58] put it in schools i would give it to

[7:00] five-year-olds to teach them about

[7:02] energy to teach them about all the the

[7:04] law the true laws of nature

[7:07] um so

[7:09] that would be a really important thing

[7:11] and then it's kind of like builds in

[7:13] steps for me the as you go further there

[7:16] are more and more steps open up as to

[7:18] what you need to grow and learn

[7:20] in order to really develop your

[7:21] potential

[7:22] so what it matters

[7:24] there seems to be so many different

[7:26] methodologies out there so many

[7:27] different teachers does it matter

[7:30] which one you choose or

[7:32] would it be better just to allow the one

[7:34] that appears to come into your life and

[7:36] allow the energy to flow in if you know

[7:38] what i mean

[7:40] um

[7:41] i think both are true in a way yes it

[7:44] does matter because quite often

[7:47] um

[7:48] you can choose i've actually seen people

[7:50] choose teachers who are at a lower level

[7:52] than them because they they didn't have

[7:54] any map they didn't have any

[7:56] understanding of the levels that we go

[7:58] through

[7:59] and so they literally didn't know what

[8:01] was up and what was down and they are

[8:02] working with people who are sometimes

[8:04] pulling them down rather than pulling

[8:06] them up and that's because of ignorance

[8:08] but on the other hand with a certain

[8:11] level of discernment and kind of clarity

[8:13] if you know what you really want then

[8:15] for sure the teachers will appear in

[8:17] your life but it doesn't work very well

[8:19] if you're not clear i don't think so you

[8:21] might need help then

[8:23] to become clear about what you really

[8:25] want then the flowing bit works

[8:29] and is that something you could offer

[8:32] i mean i do coach people um um i do

[8:35] coach people and i teach courses or have

[8:37] online courses so i do teach those kinds

[8:39] of things my coaching is quite specific

[8:42] and um

[8:43] it's pretty you know it's top end so

[8:46] it's not for everybody but

[8:48] um

[8:49] definitely for example people show up i

[8:51] have a website that's for healing and

[8:53] they show up at that website or they

[8:56] show up asking for help because they

[8:57] really need healing and that's a way you

[8:59] know they can get healing 24 hours a day

[9:01] through that website

[9:03] um so that that's the kind of way i

[9:05] might show up in somebody's life

[9:07] that that's what they're looking for and

[9:09] then they meet me or they hear about me

[9:11] yes that definitely happens and of

[9:13] course the the avenue programs that

[9:14] we've both written they're very

[9:16] accessible in terms of uh one price and

[9:19] two the amount of involvement that

[9:20] someone has to have in them which is

[9:22] just two or three minutes a day isn't it

[9:23] so uh

[9:24] and your program is is is lovely and

[9:26] gentle to to get your head around and to

[9:29] get into

[9:30] but when i first heard about it i just

[9:32] thought two minutes a day like what on

[9:34] earth can you do with two minutes a day

[9:36] i was so shocked in a way but actually

[9:38] when i put it together

[9:40] um

[9:41] and those two minutes are very compact

[9:44] and each two minutes has its little

[9:46] message that can kind of really grow

[9:48] over time and i saw the power of even

[9:50] that two minutes a day over 30 days and

[9:53] i've actually had people come back and

[9:55] people who've done nothing less than 30

[9:57] minutes or 60 minutes with me some of

[9:59] them over many years and they say

[10:01] they're actually really enjoying these

[10:03] little two-minute bites so i i guess

[10:05] that it's working

[10:06] well listen as we got we got the power

[10:08] of radio and the magic already should we

[10:10] just play one end so we can get an idea

[10:11] of what they sound like yeah sure and

[10:13] what's this one called

[10:16] um this one oh i'm just gonna check okay

[10:20] this one is called activate your body

[10:23] i actually don't want to tell you what

[10:25] it's about because

[10:27] it unfolds within the the new itself

[10:31] but it is just yeah yeah it's just like

[10:33] a little tweak a little something that

[10:35] might switch something on in your mind

[10:37] or in your body or even in your heart

[10:40] and make a difference thank you for

[10:42] sharing

[10:46] well that was very subtle wasn't it and

[10:49] lovely thank you so much for sharing

[10:51] that sarah so there's another 29 where

[10:53] that came from

[10:55] wonderful wonderful

[10:57] so your journey then i'm just fascinated

[10:59] by your journey because

[11:00] i love the way that timelines intertwine

[11:02] you know because and i'm still like a

[11:04] resistant healer and a resistant teacher

[11:07] you know this sort of stuff and i'm

[11:08] really owned up to being that person yet

[11:10] but i do i deliver it when people turn

[11:12] up did you find resistance to to growing

[11:16] into

[11:17] becoming a healer in yourself i

[11:20] experienced tremendous resistance to

[11:23] spirituality

[11:25] i learned how to heal because i was

[11:27] training with the chinese master for a

[11:29] very long time who was a very powerful

[11:31] healer and every single person there

[11:32] learned how to heal naturally and we did

[11:35] it in a way just by talking so there was

[11:37] no hands-on stuff or anything not at all

[11:40] like traditional healing and so that was

[11:42] very natural for me because i loved

[11:44] talking and i thought what a wonderful

[11:46] way to heal just through conversation

[11:48] that is like a conversation over the

[11:50] dinner table or sitting down you know

[11:52] very normal

[11:53] but what i really found very scary was

[11:57] admitting the spiritual part it it

[12:00] produced a lot of fears about

[12:03] i know being connected with

[12:05] anything about god or anything about

[12:07] religion

[12:08] and i don't know there was

[12:11] that that was very very hard for me um

[12:13] and it it's only probably in the last

[12:15] year or so i've discovered that there's

[12:17] a tremendous power

[12:19] in admitting it and talking openly about

[12:21] things like that it's really incredible

[12:24] even if you feel

[12:25] very incompetent as i often did i would

[12:28] talk about love and i would think oh my

[12:29] god you know

[12:31] like i have some experience but is that

[12:33] really enough and who am i to talk about

[12:35] this and

[12:37] all of that stuff but i just saw that it

[12:39] it just had such an impact on people

[12:42] and the braver i am to talk about what i

[12:45] really

[12:46] feel and experience inside

[12:49] i've noticed the more impact it has

[12:51] however much i might feel like oh

[12:54] should i really do that

[12:56] now i've just got a shiver down the back

[12:58] of my spine because uh

[13:01] this is the first time i've spoken about

[13:02] this on air to anybody

[13:04] and i'm in the same boat where i just

[13:06] feel that not only am i feeling that

[13:08] brave enough to talk about it and to

[13:10] share it and to teach it but also

[13:12] it feels to me that the world is ready

[13:14] to hear it and you know we do we we've

[13:16] had we've learned some fantastic things

[13:18] you know medical science is amazing

[13:21] what's been discovered but there's this

[13:22] other power that's within all of us and

[13:24] it's not a special thing that's just

[13:26] healers out there every single human in

[13:28] fact every life form is uh can tap into

[13:30] the healing energy so what sort of

[13:32] things just so people that maybe have

[13:34] not experienced this um this kind of

[13:37] healing what sort of things can be

[13:39] healed

[13:40] using these tools

[13:42] um

[13:44] a really nice example actually i was a

[13:46] client um my website has lots of

[13:50] recordings on it of like healing

[13:51] relaxations and video teaching and stuff

[13:54] like that i just teach people how to

[13:55] heal themselves with energy

[13:57] she's listened every single day she's a

[13:59] very good you know she just shows up

[14:01] every single day on the site and listens

[14:03] to stuff and sends me emails all the

[14:05] time and i do a few life group sessions

[14:08] as well so she comes to those she came

[14:10] in july with a mass of different

[14:13] sicknesses diabetes and then pains all

[14:16] over the place all her organs out of

[14:17] balance probably 10 or 20 years of

[14:21] of growing sickness chronic fatigue

[14:24] probably fibromyalgia the whole lot

[14:26] unable to work she told me the other day

[14:28] that she had she must have forgotten her

[14:31] insulin or something for her diabetes

[14:33] and just and it didn't make any

[14:35] difference and then she started to

[14:36] experiment and she said you know what if

[14:38] i take insulin now it makes me feel so

[14:40] sick

[14:41] that i just can't take it anymore

[14:44] and so

[14:45] you know if you can

[14:46] if you can heal those kind you know she

[14:48] was supposed to be on insulin for the

[14:49] rest of her life and i didn't do

[14:51] anything i didn't say anything it just

[14:53] you know help her to relax through that

[14:56] power of relaxation and receiving

[14:59] clean energy if you like fresh energy

[15:01] which is what i teach people how to do

[15:04] you can essentially

[15:06] release

[15:07] the roots of almost well any disease as

[15:10] long as you can stay alive long enough

[15:12] that's my principle you need to stay

[15:14] alive like so if somebody's very very

[15:16] sick and close to dying it's a

[15:18] everything's possible but it's extremely

[15:20] challenging

[15:22] but if you're alive as long as you're

[15:23] alive we are in a continual healing

[15:26] process that healing is becoming whole

[15:29] and we can become more and more whole

[15:31] because we can always become a greater

[15:33] whole so healing is not something you do

[15:35] just because you're sick it's something

[15:36] that we do

[15:38] just through our whole life every single

[15:40] day

[15:41] and because of that you can gradually

[15:44] just clean out more and more and more of

[15:46] the stuff that causes sickness

[15:49] and then you can learn to prevent the

[15:51] sicknesses you might get in the future

[15:53] and then the stuff that goes with aging

[15:56] and

[15:56] through that you totally turn

[15:59] the direction of your life around and

[16:01] who knows you know who knows where we'll

[16:02] go when we do this for

[16:04] i don't know 20 30 40 50 years

[16:08] but this is massive isn't it because not

[16:10] only can it have in microcosm it has a

[16:13] great benefit to an individual but if

[16:15] you scale this up to

[16:16] uh countries and you look at the whole

[16:18] health service and the health spending

[16:20] and this sort of stuff

[16:21] this could just save so much money and

[16:24] and give and also give people much

[16:25] better quality of life

[16:28] honestly tom you know when i think about

[16:30] it like i know how easy it is to train

[16:33] people to do what i do because if

[16:35] somebody's sick

[16:36] and they come and they learn it they

[16:38] become a healer some of them are more

[16:40] natural than others some people love it

[16:42] some people don't want to but everybody

[16:44] learns how to heal so it's that easy to

[16:46] train people that you work with them and

[16:49] then you know there's a little bit of

[16:50] advice that i can give them but not a

[16:52] lot

[16:53] and honestly one person if there was a

[16:55] crisis you know and the world health

[16:57] system kind of crashed down or something

[17:00] one person with the right technology

[17:02] could talk to thousands even millions of

[17:04] people they could heal them over the

[17:06] internet

[17:07] and

[17:08] i mean it's so phenomenal what's

[17:11] possible and it's so cheap

[17:13] to deliver

[17:15] it's like it almost doesn't make any

[17:17] sense in the context of what we're used

[17:19] to because it's such a such a different

[17:21] approach to doing things and you go away

[17:25] with this knowledge and

[17:28] increasing ease within yourself

[17:31] um a five-year-old can do it it's you

[17:33] know it's really easy

[17:35] so it is an incredible thing i think

[17:37] it's just the most wonderful thing that

[17:39] this kind of knowledge is coming through

[17:40] now because it it

[17:42] it will radically change not just on our

[17:45] health system it will change our health

[17:48] for

[17:49] for for our entire future

[17:51] so i guess there's a few elements to

[17:52] this isn't it the first is not to throw

[17:54] the baby out with the bath water because

[17:56] uh

[17:57] our health service professionals are

[17:58] amazing you know and and you know the

[18:00] the ability to fix people that have been

[18:02] in accidents and things like that is the

[18:03] technology

[18:05] and not only that and many people

[18:09] it you know something like this when you

[18:11] bring a new technology in this is like

[18:12] bringing in a new technology

[18:15] it's not something that people adopt

[18:16] overnight you know that you've got your

[18:18] early adopters and then you've got the

[18:20] people who follow them and you have to

[18:22] build trust and the medical system will

[18:24] have had to do that too when when they

[18:26] first introduced antibiotics i'm sure

[18:27] that not everybody rolled up for their

[18:29] antibiotics

[18:31] and this is harder because it takes

[18:33] commitment it's easy because it's

[18:35] enjoyable you feel great most of the

[18:38] time sometimes you don't because you

[18:39] know if you're sick you don't

[18:41] but it is harder because you can't just

[18:43] take something

[18:45] and you know just swallow something and

[18:47] then everything goes away

[18:49] um so yes then i think the whole point

[18:52] is about a faced transition but it's

[18:54] also about knowing that these kinds of

[18:57] possibilities are here so that

[18:58] especially for diseases that at the

[19:00] moment can't be easily dealt with

[19:02] medically and there are many of them

[19:05] people can much more actively start to

[19:07] explore different options

[19:09] wow and obviously

[19:11] i guess one of the fundamental tense of

[19:13] what you're talking about is that uh

[19:15] when you use this kind these these

[19:17] modalities in your life you don't get

[19:19] ill in the first place so you don't

[19:20] create a strain on the on the health

[19:22] system and have to go into these

[19:24] in into uh into hospital or going to see

[19:26] a doctor i can't remember the last time

[19:28] i saw a gp to be honest with you

[19:30] i know it's been about 20 25 years for

[19:32] me but i think yeah the

[19:35] the beauty of it is

[19:37] well what i find with with what i

[19:39] learned from really this incredible

[19:41] chinese knowledge is like if i feel a

[19:43] little pain or something in my body

[19:45] there's such a shift for me like i'm 55

[19:48] and i know

[19:49] that if i didn't have that experience if

[19:52] i start to feel aches and pains in my

[19:54] body i would say oh this is aging this

[19:56] is going to be with me probably for the

[19:58] rest of my life and then the likelihood

[20:00] is it will be and i don't say that i

[20:02] just say oh this is some kind of healing

[20:04] going on that's great and it goes away

[20:08] and you know that's such a huge

[20:10] difference

[20:12] because

[20:13] a lot of our understanding about health

[20:16] it's like a weight on us that pulls our

[20:19] health downwards and when you switch

[20:21] that around

[20:22] your health can lift upwards from the

[20:25] same point

[20:26] but maybe you do feel something i mean

[20:28] my i do feel things from time to time i

[20:30] think that's quite normal but they heal

[20:33] and go away because i never accept them

[20:35] as something that's long-term or getting

[20:37] worse or bad

[20:39] and that's the big shift interesting so

[20:42] on the zone show then this is i guess

[20:43] this is very resonant with the

[20:46] the concept uh behind the book that when

[20:48] you're in the zone everything goes

[20:50] really well and life is it goes

[20:52] swimmingly and then when you're out of

[20:53] the zone the wheels fall off the bus so

[20:55] i guess then these pains and aches and

[20:57] pains are like a symptom you've just

[20:59] fallen off

[21:00] in out of the zone for a while and you

[21:01] can get back in it at all so as we're on

[21:04] the zone show

[21:05] and i love experimenting

[21:07] could you just take our listeners

[21:09] through a

[21:10] and i haven't we haven't rehearsed this

[21:11] and we didn't i haven't briefed you on

[21:13] this at all but i know that you're up

[21:14] for it like intuitively i know you can

[21:16] do it can we do a quick sort of a few

[21:18] minutes um

[21:20] meditative journey for the listeners

[21:22] that would help them just release some

[21:23] aches and pains in their body

[21:25] sure

[21:26] okay

[21:28] thank you

[21:28] yeah so just uh close your eyes

[21:34] and sit back as comfortably as you can

[21:36] wherever you are

[21:39] and allow the weight of your body to

[21:42] drop down into the chair

[21:46] it's like all the heavy energy in your

[21:48] body the old energy

[21:51] is melting out of you

[21:53] melting down into the chair

[21:56] and into the ground

[22:00] and drop your mouth slightly open and

[22:03] breathe through your mouth

[22:04] which might make you feel a little bit

[22:06] stupid but it doesn't matter

[22:10] and breathe down into your stomach

[22:13] and lower belly

[22:17] just breathe nice and naturally nothing

[22:19] special

[22:21] and allow the weight the heaviness

[22:24] to drop down

[22:30] relax your stomach

[22:34] relax your lower belly

[22:39] and your hips

[22:43] and your lower back

[22:51] relax your legs

[22:57] and your feet

[23:00] so your body is gradually becoming more

[23:03] open

[23:05] softer

[23:08] and you start to receive some new

[23:12] fresh energy

[23:15] which is healing energy

[23:22] relax your forehead

[23:25] and your face

[23:27] so your face is soft

[23:30] and open

[23:33] just like you're sitting in the early

[23:35] morning sun and the sun's shining on

[23:37] your body and warming you up

[23:40] there's this beautiful fresh energy

[23:44] that is flowing through you

[23:47] and heals

[23:49] and releases

[23:51] and refreshes

[23:54] and recharges

[23:58] just let that energy flow through you

[24:01] and relax you

[24:04] and bring you some ease

[24:07] and peace

[24:14] okay now just stay very relaxed you

[24:16] don't really need to come out of it

[24:19] just stay there stay relaxed

[24:21] stay peaceful

[24:24] and stay receiving fresh energy

[24:31] and see if you can do that even a little

[24:34] bit more later during the day

[24:38] thank you

[24:39] oh thank you a gift to share thank you

[24:41] so much sarah that was beautiful and i

[24:44] have to tell you that um we're doing

[24:46] this on a skype video call

[24:50] and i i podcast these so you hear the

[24:52] audio but i'm going to put the video of

[24:54] this up on youtube because

[24:55] as you were speaking all i could see was

[24:58] the most perfect halo around your head

[25:01] oh that's nice

[25:02] it was almost like the old religious

[25:04] iconography you know where you see the

[25:05] perfect white halo around

[25:08] you must be

[25:09] you must be very sensitive to energy

[25:12] well it's a technique we can maybe talk

[25:14] about i think this is the the great

[25:16] thing about the zone show is we can talk

[25:17] about anything and it's it's it's rare

[25:20] for me to be able to speak with somebody

[25:22] uh

[25:23] of your

[25:24] caliber i would say you're amazing here

[25:26] i can just sense that

[25:27] and something i'd like to do is explain

[25:30] how i see auras over skype which

[25:32] shouldn't be done so i'm an xbc tv

[25:34] engineer right so i know how light goes

[25:37] into a camera gets converted into

[25:38] electrons beamed hardware on the planet

[25:41] and then gets converted in light so the

[25:42] other person can see it but for some

[25:44] years i've been able to see auras over

[25:46] skype which doesn't make electronic

[25:48] sense

[25:49] so what happens is your third eye

[25:52] sees the aura in the other person

[25:55] that's the way you perceive it and the

[25:56] way you do it and i'm going to share

[25:58] this with with the listeners and i'll

[26:00] put a link under the podcast so you can

[26:02] go and look at the video of this if you

[26:04] want to experience this because i want

[26:05] to share this with the world what you do

[26:07] is you look straight in in sarah's eyes

[26:10] uh on the video is then this works on

[26:13] replay as well as it does live which is

[26:14] the weirdest thing but you then focus

[26:17] your attention goes above and below

[26:19] sarah's head and to the left and right

[26:21] of her ears so you're even looking right

[26:23] in her eyes on the video and and i'd

[26:25] love for people to put comments on this

[26:27] on this vlog or on the youtube video of

[26:30] what they experienced because i think we

[26:31] need to share that the energy is

[26:33] shifting and there's some wonderful

[26:35] things happening on the planet right now

[26:37] so

[26:38] it's going to be not only was a live

[26:40] unrehearsed um

[26:41] visualization that sarah took us through

[26:43] that was beautiful but also let's do

[26:45] some live research and put the debate

[26:47] out there

[26:48] cool it's rather like looking at those

[26:50] 3d pictures isn't it exactly where you

[26:52] have to kind of make your focus all

[26:53] blurry and then suddenly it kind of

[26:55] clicks

[26:57] now and then but if i go with my

[26:59] attention drops into the now it then

[27:01] disappears again you know what i mean

[27:02] yeah so listen i don't think we can top

[27:04] that so i'm going to say so where can

[27:06] people find out about you where can they

[27:08] find your your your avenue

[27:11] um the simplest way to find everything

[27:14] actually because i have different

[27:15] choices for people at different places

[27:17] in their life whether they need like

[27:19] physical healing or relationship healing

[27:21] or other kinds of healing i have a

[27:22] website which is just my name

[27:24] sarahmacrum.com

[27:25] and on the homepage there are links to

[27:27] all the other things so that's really

[27:28] the simplest place it will take you to

[27:30] the avenue to heart of healing which is

[27:32] the healing site and to some other

[27:34] things as well

[27:36] and will you do me the great pleasure

[27:37] for coming back on the zelda show again

[27:39] in the new year i would i would love to

[27:41] i've really enjoyed it it's so nice to

[27:43] be able to talk

[27:45] openly

[27:46] in a public setting you know often when

[27:48] you're going into public people say oh

[27:50] you better be careful about that and you

[27:52] shouldn't do that but i don't feel that

[27:54] with you it's like everything's open so

[27:56] it's really a nice experience

[27:58] oh thank you so much and my view is is

[28:00] that you know i i didn't know any of

[28:03] this stuff until i was about 45 and then

[28:05] i started to experience it and rather

[28:06] than trying to suppress it as a

[28:07] scientist and an engineer i thought well

[28:09] let's research what is happening you

[28:11] know how are we just healing people in

[28:13] an instant how are rashes just

[28:14] disappearing on people's bodies and and

[28:16] people people's gluten allergies just

[28:18] disappearing i've even healed people's

[28:20] second degree burns and the skin's just

[28:23] healed itself you know and to me this

[28:24] this doesn't need to be put under the in

[28:28] the closet it needs to be researched and

[28:29] needs to be looked at because it's a

[28:31] real actual thing that's happening right

[28:33] now which is amazing yeah and it's the

[28:34] future yeah which is it's now but it's

[28:37] such a great future for us

[28:39] well sarah i'm so thrilled that our

[28:42] timelines have crossed and i've got to

[28:43] thank the wonderful people at avenue for

[28:45] bringing such amazing souls together

[28:47] which they're doing daniel prosper

[28:48] you're doing a job which is

McCrum says the foundation is learning to relax and to receive energy, because she believes nothing much can happen in a body that is tense all the time. She tells Tom Evans in their 2014 interview that everything turns around when a person can relax and receive. She treats this as the precondition for any other development.
She says she teaches people to look at pain in a completely different way from what doctors or others have taught them. In her view, pain is easier to heal once the person has that understanding, and without it the healing does not happen. The interview does not lay out a detailed technique, so listeners should treat her perspective as a complement to qualified medical care.
After years as a school teacher she disliked, she was thirty when her sister had a brain tumour and died about twenty-one months later. McCrum says that loss changed her direction, and she realized no one would take care of her health if she did not. An acupuncture session that released a blockage within an hour started her broader journey into natural health.
She advises clarity and discernment about what you actually want, because teachers will appear more reliably when you know your goal. She warns that people without a map of the levels involved sometimes choose teachers who pull them down rather than up. She suggests understanding those levels before committing.
No. She argues that every point we reach reveals more potential ahead, which she sees as what keeps people alive and awake. She describes her own shift from feeling growth was a guessing game to having a map of ground rules that made development more reliable.
She says healer was never a label she would have given herself, though people who come to her get healed. She reasons that identity is more often what other people call you than what you call yourself, so the outcomes matter more than the title.
She said she would put education about energy into schools and would teach five-year-olds about energy and the true laws of nature. Her broader point is that this understanding is missing from ordinary education and should become common knowledge.
