Many students come to a studio a few times a month rather than every week. A class pack suits them: they pay once for a bundle, such as ten classes for one price, and use one credit each time they come. On BrightStar a pack works with your weekly classes, so a student books a date with one tap and their place is a real ticket with a QR code, checked in at the door like any other.
Where to find it
Dashboard, Studio, then Class packs. The Class packs button sits next to Create on your weekly classes page. The Packs tab lists what you offer. The Clients tab shows who holds credits.
Creating a pack
Press New pack and choose:
- 1What it gives: a number of class credits, or an unlimited pass for a set number of days.
- 2The price and currency, and whether the buyer pays the fees on top or you absorb them.
- 3How long it lasts: never, a number of days from purchase, or a number of days from the first class.
- 4Which classes it covers: all your weekly classes, chosen class types, chosen classes, or every event you host.
- 5Who can use it: an intro offer for people new to you, a limit per person, and whether holders may bring a friend.
- 6Save it as a draft, or save and make it live.
Intro offers for new students
Turn on the intro offer to welcome newcomers, for example a first week of unlimited classes. You choose who counts as new: someone who has never booked with you, or someone buying their first pack from you. Each person can buy an intro offer once.
How students use their credits
On the page of a class date their pack covers, a signed-in student sees how many credits they have and a Use 1 credit button. One credit becomes their place in that class, and their ticket arrives by email and in My Tickets. A student can hold one place per class date. If the class is full, no credit is used.
My Tickets shows each pack under Your classes, with the credits left, when it expires, and the dates booked with it. When a pack starts its clock at the first class, it says so until then.
Cancelling and getting the credit back
A student can cancel their place from the class page any time before the class starts, and the credit goes back into their pack. If you void their ticket, or cancel that class date, the credit goes back too. A credit cannot come back to a pack that has already expired.
Balances and what you owe
The Clients tab shows every client with credits, how many credits are outstanding, and Classes owed: what clients have paid for and not used yet, worked out as the credits left times the price of one credit, plus the unused share of unlimited passes. Expiring soon lists packs that run out in the next 14 days, so you can send a kind reminder.
You can also add a pack to a client by hand, for a pack paid at the front desk, a gift, or a balance moved from another system. You can add or remove a single credit, and take back a pack you added by hand.
Fees
Booking a class with a credit is free: the ticket is a $0 order with no fees. Selling a pack carries the same fees as an Elevate ticket: BrightStar's Elevate platform fee and card processing, added on top for the buyer by default, or taken from your payout if you choose to absorb them. The payment is made directly on your own connected Stripe account.
