Descripción

Sacred Sanskrit Sounds: A Tantrik Experience of Mantra is a free, 60-minute live online class in Sanskrit chanting, led by kirtan artist and Sanskrit mantra teacher Anandra George. It is made for people who love mantra, chant and kirtan and want to deepen that love through close attention to pronunciation and melody, and for the simply curious about the power of sound.

The session is a sampling of Anandra's signature 20-hour course, also called Sacred Sanskrit Sounds. It offers a taste of the yogic tradition of mantra, approached through the Tantrik understanding of mantra as sound and attention. Registration is required, and it is separate from the companion Vocal Bliss session offered the same day.

What to Expect

The hour begins with an introduction to Sanskrit pronunciation and the Tantrik view of mantra. From there, Anandra guides the group through the sounds and melody of sacred Sanskrit syllables. The class is taught in English and held live online, so you can join from wherever you are.

The traditions behind the session include Sanskrit chanting, Tantra, nada yoga and Indian classical music.
