“Although there are many features, you only see the part within sight.”

“For example, when you sail out in a boat to the middle of an ocean where no land is in sight, and view the four directions, the ocean looks circular.”

“It does not look any other way.”

“But the ocean is neither round nor square; its features are infinite in variety.”

“To study the Buddha way is to study the self. To study the self is to forget the self.”

“To forget the self is to be enlightened by all things.”

“To be enlightened by all things is to remove the barrier between self and other.”

“Practice and enlightenment are not two.”

“Practice is enlightenment, and enlightenment is practice.”

“Just practice. Don't search for outcomes.”

“To carry oneself forward and experience myriad things is delusion.”

“That myriad things come forth and experience themselves is awakening.”

“Those who have great realization of delusion are buddhas.”

“Those who are greatly deluded about realization are sentient beings.”

“Some sentient beings continue to realize beyond realization.”

“Some are in delusion within delusion.”

“When buddhas are truly buddhas, they don't need to perceive themselves as buddhas.”

“They are realized buddhas and continually realize buddha.”

“When dharma does not fill your whole body and mind, you think it is already sufficient.”
