Beschreibung

This evening sound bath on Bowen Island pairs crystal singing bowls with guided breathwork, yoga nidra and a few restorative yin yoga postures, all aimed at helping the nervous system settle before sleep. It is for anyone who wants to wind down at the end of the weekend, whether you live on the island or are visiting and looking for something restful to do after dark. Andrea Clark, co-founder of Nectar Retreat and Mist Thermal, leads the session in the Dome at Nectar Yoga.

What to Expect

The session runs two hours, from 6:30 to 8:30 in the evening. You arrive and settle into the Nectar Yoga Dome, then begin with guided breathwork meant to build resilience and ease stress, preparing the body for rest.

From there, yoga nidra, often called yogic sleep, guides you into a deep state of relaxation while you stay conscious. It is paired with two to three yin yoga postures, held for longer periods, for a gentle somatic release that supports calm in the body and, in turn, better sleep.

The centre of the evening is at least thirty minutes of sound healing with crystal bowls. Andrea works with Solfeggio frequencies and other healing tones to help ease tension and encourage relaxation. The session closes with time for gentle integration, so you leave grounded and ready for a peaceful night rather than rushed back into the evening.

The emphasis throughout is on rest, not physical effort.

About Andrea Clark

Andrea Clark is co-founder of Nectar Retreat and of Mist Thermal on Bowen Island. She offers these evening sound baths as a blend of sound healing, breathwork, yin yoga and yoga nidra, with the aim of balancing the nervous system and supporting deep relaxation.

The Setting

The session takes place in the Dome at Nectar Yoga, on Gardner Lane on Bowen Island, British Columbia. Mist Thermal, a contrast therapy space with sauna and cold plunge, sits in a forest setting next to Nectar Retreat. If you want to extend your day on the island, the Mist circuit takes about 90 minutes, so allow enough time if you plan to add it. It is booked separately and is not part of the sound bath.

Before You Go

No particular level of experience is stated, and none should be needed: the practices are receptive and slow, and nothing asks for strength or flexibility.

Bring comfortable layers, including warm socks, since the Dome can feel cooler in the evening. A journal is also useful for reflections during the integration period. The session is offered in English.

Included are the guided breathwork, the yoga nidra practice, two to three yin postures, at least thirty minutes of crystal bowl sound healing and the closing integration. Applicable taxes are extra, and the Mist Thermal circuit or any other Nectar bookings are not included.
