Silence Music Prayer – PachaMama, Costa Rica

Silence Music Prayer is a four-day spiritual workshop at PachaMama Eco Village & Retreat Center in Nicoya, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. It is a retreat for anyone who wants to reconnect with their authentic voice through silence, music, prayer, and presence. The immersion invites participants to experience the body as an instrument.

The workshop runs several times through the retreat center's season, so it can be attended at different points in the year. PachaMama also hosts a longer all-night Silence Music Prayer ceremony, a separate gathering built on the same elements.

What to Expect

The four days move between quiet and sound. Silence, music, prayer, and presence are the four threads of the immersion, and the work is about listening inward as much as it is about singing or playing. The body is treated as the instrument through which voice and feeling arrive.

The all-night ceremony version of Silence Music Prayer is described as a chance to come together as a family to meditate, celebrate, and give thanks through silence, prayer, and singing. The four-day workshop shares that spirit of gathering, in a slower and longer form.

The Setting

PachaMama Eco Village & Retreat Center sits in the tropical forest near Nicoya, in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica. The center holds a wide range of programs: meditation retreats, body cleanse programs, emotional healing workshops, yoga workshops, Red Road ceremonies, and musical journeys. Music has a long place here, from voice workshops such as Soul Voice and Voyage of Voices to all-night musical gatherings.

PachaMama closes its doors in September and October, during Costa Rica's rainy season, so the workshop is offered in the other months of the year.

Before You Go

The workshop is open to those drawn to voice, music, and contemplative practice. No prior singing or musical training is mentioned as a requirement, and the invitation is to arrive as you are and meet your own voice through the days.
