Beschreibung

The Freedom 2027 Wellness Retreat is a seven-night yoga and wellness retreat led by Cornelius Jones Jr. at Xinalani, an oceanfront retreat center set between the jungle and the Pacific Ocean, just south of Puerto Vallarta in Jalisco, Mexico. The program blends restorative and yin yoga with vinyasa flow and strength and movement work, and it is open to all levels.

What to Expect

The week pairs gentle, slower practice with more active movement. Restorative and yin yoga give the body time to soften and rest. Vinyasa flow and strength and movement sessions bring energy and build the body back up.

Xinalani describes each retreat as having its own rhythm, with days that unfold between practice, nourishing meals, ocean time, restorative moments and space to simply be. A typical day at the center looks like this:

- 8 AM: morning yoga by the ocean, all-levels practice meant to move, energize and awaken the body
- 10 AM: breakfast of fresh tropical fruit, homemade pastries, Mexican favorites and healthy options
- 12 PM: free time to swim, relax by the pool, use the wellness area or book a massage
- 2 PM: lunch of fresh, seasonal dishes on the oceanfront terrace
- 5 PM: restorative yoga, meditation, cacao or another mindful practice
- 7 PM: sunset over Banderas Bay, then dinner of fresh local cuisine and homemade desserts

The schedule for this particular week is set by the retreat, so the hours above show the general pattern at Xinalani rather than a fixed timetable.

About Cornelius Jones Jr.

Cornelius Jones Jr. leads the Freedom 2027 Wellness Retreat and is the teacher named for this week. His retreat draws on restorative and yin yoga, vinyasa flow, and strength and movement.

The Setting

Xinalani sits on the coast south of Puerto Vallarta, in the area of Quimixto, with views over the ocean and the jungle. Sunsets over Banderas Bay are part of the daily rhythm, and meals are served with an ocean view.

Guests choose from several room types, each built around rest and a closer connection to the surroundings:

- Beach Casita: the most spacious and private stay, steps from the beach, with a king bed, private terrace, plunge pool, beach and ocean views, and A/C.
- Eco Chic Treehouse: an open-air room above the jungle with a king bed or two double beds, a private terrace with a hammock, and ocean and jungle views. A/C and open-air options are offered.
- Deluxe Room: a cozy room for couples and solo travelers, with a king bed or two twin beds, a private terrace with a small hammock, and ocean and jungle views. A/C and open-air options are offered.
- Small and Big Palapa: open-air shared palapas with four or eight individual beds and a private terrace, the most accessible way to stay.

Xinalani takes care of the stay, meals and details, so there is less to organize and more room to be present. Beyond the daily practice, the center offers a wellness area, body therapies such as massage, ocean adventures and time in nature.

Before You Go

The retreat is open to all levels, so no prior yoga experience is needed. It runs for seven nights. Beyond the practice, you can expect to share the week with other people who came for similar reasons, with plenty of unscheduled time to make the days your own.
