Beschreibung

Being Resourced for the Times Ahead is a hybrid meditation retreat led by Caverly Morgan through Portland Insight Meditation Center in Portland, Oregon. It runs for a week and is built for people who want the depth of a retreat without stepping away from their lives. You can take part online from home, in person in Portland, or both.

Caverly Morgan is a spiritual teacher who blends the original spirit of Zen with a modern nondual and relational approach. The retreat suits anyone drawn to her way of teaching contemplative practice, and to finding steadiness for the times ahead.

What to Expect

The week is shaped around two parts of the day. Each morning, participants join online from wherever they are. Each evening, people gather in person at the Portland Insight Meditation Center space. The rhythm is meant to hold a week of practice alongside ordinary responsibilities, so you don't have to choose between showing up for retreat and showing up for your life.

Online participants and those in the room share the same week of practice with Caverly. Those in Portland add the evening gathering in person, with the company of others practicing together.

About Caverly Morgan

Caverly Morgan is a spiritual teacher, nonprofit founder, speaker and author. Her practice began in 1995 and included eight years of training in a silent Zen monastery. She has been teaching contemplative practice since 2001, and was named one of 2025's powerful women of the mindfulness movement.

Her approach centers on remembering our true nature, not through more techniques or self-improvement strategies, but through presence, inquiry and togetherness. She is the author of The Heart of Who We Are: Realizing Freedom Together and A Kids Book About Mindfulness. She also founded the nonprofits Peace in Schools, which created the first for-credit mindfulness class in U.S. public high schools, and Realizing Freedom Together. One listener, a neuropsychologist, describes her as a teacher who weaves clear, in-depth wisdom with practical suggestions, and who intuits the needs behind people's questions.

The Setting

In-person sessions take place at Portland Insight Meditation Center in Portland, Oregon, a meditation center that hosts the retreat. The morning sessions come to you wherever you join from, so a quiet corner at home is all the online part requires.
