Beschreibung

Ayurveda for a Good Life is an Ayurveda retreat at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm in Grass Valley, California. It is led by Nitya (Hoa Tran) and Omkara, and it introduces Ayurveda, the science of life, alongside yoga as a practical way to live well. The course is for everyone, wherever they are on their path, whether they are new to Ayurveda or already curious about it.

What to Expect

The retreat starts from a simple premise: the goal of Ayurveda is healthy living and a sustained sense of wellbeing. Taught together with yoga, its knowledge is meant to help people reach their goals, material or spiritual, in all phases of life. The week is a chance to study that body of knowledge in a quiet setting, with teachers who work with it directly, and to think about how it applies to your own daily routine.

The retreat is offered as an optional add-on to the ashram's basic yoga vacation or to a personalized self-healing retreat. That means you can fold the program into a longer stay at the farm, and the ashram's daily yoga life continues around it.

Your Teachers

Nitya (Hoa Tran) and Omkara lead this program together. They also teach other retreats at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm, including a retreat on stress relief and relaxation and one on the four paths of yoga. Nitya also leads the ashram's Ayurvedic Massage Rejuvenation weekends, where Ayurvedic body treatments and consultations are offered by trained specialists.

The Setting

The Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm sits in Grass Valley, in California's Sierra foothills region. It is a working ashram, a place where people come to rest, step back from daily life and practice yoga within a community. The setting suits a retreat about sustainable, balanced living, since the ideas can be tried in practice rather than only discussed.

Before You Go

No prior knowledge of Ayurveda is required. The course is open to everyone, from people who have never studied it to those who want to deepen an existing interest. Because the retreat is an add-on to a yoga vacation or self-healing stay, it is worth arranging your accommodation at the ashram along with the program itself. The ashram can answer questions about practicalities such as rooms, what to pack and how to arrange your stay.

The program runs again in the new year, so there is more than one opportunity to take part in this Ayurveda retreat in Grass Valley.
