How Men and Women Can Restore Passion and Create Lasting Love

Von Emyrald Sinclaire, Love Coach

After 34 years of marriage, raising seven children together, and watching what became of his parents' union—a loving but passionless partnership—Dr. John Gray arrived at a singular realization: lasting love is possible, but only if we understand the biology underneath it. The real difference between men and women isn't just psychological or social; it's hormonal. And that difference, properly understood, is the doorway to both passion and enduring connection.

Gray's generation watched their parents achieve companionship without fire. Love existed, comfort existed, but the passion that many couples experience in the beginning would inevitably fade once children arrived. For decades, that seemed to be the deal: you could have lasting love or you could have passion, but rarely both. Then the cultural landscape shifted. Women gained access to their masculine side—the drive, the independence, the focused ambition—without surrendering their feminine qualities. And with that freedom came a biological possibility that hadn't existed before: a couple could now generate and sustain passion indefinitely, if they understood how.

Why Men and Women Feel Love Differently

The foundation of everything Gray teaches rests on a single, often-overlooked fact: men and women are biochemically wired to experience and express love through different channels. A healthy man's love is rooted in responsibility, selflessness, commitment, and presence—the willingness to show up and provide. But that's not the same as feeling love. For a man, feeling love in its full emotional dimension requires access to his own estrogen, his own feminine side. And that access doesn't come naturally to most men; it comes through his connection to a woman he desires.

Women, by contrast, have access to love in multiple directions. They can feel love for their children, their pets, their environment, their friends, even a spiritual dimension of love. That's the power of estrogen—a hormone that generates the feeling of love and emotional connection across many channels. But here's the catch: when women have spent decades living primarily from their masculine side—earning, deciding, solving, controlling—they've trained their bodies to produce more testosterone and less estrogen. They've become powerful and independent, which is no small thing. But they've also, often without realizing it, shut down the very biological state that allows them to feel and receive love in its fullest form.

The Cycle That Creates Multi-Orgasmic Experience

Gray describes a biochemical dance that unfolds when a man and woman come together in the right conditions. It begins with a man's testosterone rising—not because he's fantasizing about someone else, but because his actual partner, her energy, her body, her heart, and her mind are turning him on. This genuine attraction (not novelty, not imagination) causes his testosterone to rise and his body to emit pheromones, those subtle chemical signals that communicate to a woman's body that his masculine energy is strong and present.

When a woman's nervous system detects this pheromone signal from a man whose testosterone is genuinely elevated in response to her, her estrogen rises. She feels safer, more desired, more special. If she experiences monogamy—if she feels that this man's focus and desire are directed at her alone—her estrogen rises even higher. And as her estrogen peaks, something remarkable happens neurologically and hormonally: his testosterone rises in response to her elevated estrogen. This is reciprocity. This is the feedback loop that can generate what Gray calls multi-orgasmic experience for women and sustained passion for both.

The key ingredient is polarity—the dynamic tension between masculine and feminine energy. Early in a relationship, novelty itself creates artificial polarity. A man's testosterone spikes because everything about the woman is new. But novelty fades. Familiarity sets in. The dopamine that accompanied discovery and mystery drops. Once that happens, a man's testosterone can no longer rely on the newness stimulus. He becomes dependent on a different kind of polarity: the living, breathing presence of a woman who is grounded in her feminine side.

Why So Many Women Attract Emotionally Unavailable Men

This is where Gray's insight becomes uncomfortable for many contemporary women. A woman who has lived primarily from her masculine side—who has built a career, made independent decisions, solved her own problems, perhaps raised children alone—has trained her body to run on high testosterone and low estrogen. She's become the pursuer, the provider, the problem-solver. And then she wonders why she attracts men who are passive, emotionally unavailable, or feminine in their energy.

Gray's answer is direct: polarity attracts. A woman running on high testosterone will attract a man running on low testosterone. She's become the man in the relationship, energetically, hormonally. Her system needs a counterbalance, but instead of finding one, she finds a man whose masculine energy matches her diminished feminine. The complaint "there are no good men" often reflects a woman's own biochemical state more than the actual availability of healthy masculine partners.

This doesn't mean a woman should abandon her masculine side. Gray is clear on this point: women shouldn't give up their male side; they should balance it. A woman who can access both her masculine drive and her feminine receptivity—who can be powerful and also soft, decisive and also nurturing, independent and also vulnerable—creates an energetic field that attracts a man capable of similar balance. And when two people who can access both polarities meet, the possibilities become unlimited.

What Men Need (and What Most Discussions Get Wrong)

Gray challenges the common narrative about what men need in relationships. It's not simply more sex. And it's not about women becoming passive or subservient. What a man at his healthiest needs is to feel that his presence matters, that his effort creates a positive shift in his partner's emotional state. He needs to feel her response to him—not as a test (am I doing this right?), but as genuine reception.

There's an old-fashioned element to this, Gray acknowledges, but it works with biology, not against it. When a man sees that his attention, his touch, his effort is making his partner softer, happier, more relaxed, his testosterone rises. His sense of purpose is activated. A man in his essence wants to make his partner's life better. But if she's always already fine—independent, self-sufficient, not needing anything from him—his testosterone has nothing to rise toward. He becomes a helper, perhaps, but not a lover. His system doesn't know how to access the deeper levels of passion because there's no clear signal that he's needed.

This creates a paradox for modern women. The independence and self-sufficiency that served her in her career can actually work against her in romance if she can't modulate it—if she can't shift into receptivity with a partner. A woman who can say, "I'm strong and capable, and I also choose to let you contribute to my happiness," creates a space where a man's masculine nature can flourish. He feels trusted. He feels that his presence makes a difference. And when a man feels that, his testosterone rises, which elevates her estrogen, and the cycle of reciprocal passion begins.

The Testosterone-Estrogen Feedback Loop

Gray references research showing that high testosterone in a man raises a woman's estrogen, and high estrogen in a woman raises a man's testosterone. It's not a one-way street. Neither gender is responsible for the other's hormonal state. But together, when the conditions are right, they create a virtuous cycle.

The conditions matter. Safety matters. Monogamy—or at least the genuine sense that this man's desire is directed at this woman—matters. Novelty, which once carried the weight of creating polarity, no longer serves. What serves now is presence. A man who is genuinely present, genuinely focused, genuinely moved by his partner creates the energetic and chemical conditions for her estrogen to rise. And a woman who is genuinely receptive, genuinely vulnerable, genuinely allowing herself to be moved by him creates the conditions for his testosterone to rise.

Once this feedback loop is activated, passion doesn't necessarily decline over time. It can be managed differently. Gray describes a natural rhythm: passion builds during lovemaking, reaching peaks of intensity, then gradually diminishes over the course of a week. But through continued presence, continued attention, and regular lovemaking, a couple can bring the passion back up again. The feeling of love, distinct from the surge of passion, remains constant. But the passion itself—the intensity, the fire—becomes renewable, a regular part of the relationship rather than something that was only available at the beginning.

The Modern Dilemma: When Women Lose Their Feminine Side

Gray doesn't blame women for this shift. It was necessary. Women needed to develop their masculine side to compete in the professional world, to be self-reliant, to not depend on men for survival or identity. That's been an enormous gain. But the cost, for many women, has been the atrophy of their feminine capacities—not just as performance or role-play, but as an actual energetic and biochemical state.

A woman who has spent 30 years being the problem-solver, the decision-maker, the one who "doesn't need anyone" has trained her nervous system to stay in sympathetic activation (the fight-or-flight state associated with high testosterone). Her body has learned that safety comes from being in control. Shifting into the vulnerability and receptivity of genuine femininity feels dangerous. It feels like losing power.

But here's Gray's reframing: accessing her feminine side isn't about losing power or becoming dependent. It's about expanding her range. A woman who can move fluidly between masculine and feminine—who can be the CEO at work and the receptive partner at home, who can make decisions independently and also ask for help, who can be self-sufficient and also allow herself to be served—has more power, not less. She has access to the full spectrum of human experience. And she has access to a quality of love and passion that a woman locked in her masculine side simply cannot reach.

Where to go from here

The practical work begins with self-awareness. Women who recognize they've been living primarily from their masculine side can begin, slowly, to open channels back to their feminine energy. This might look like allowing a partner to contribute, to solve problems, to lead sometimes—not out of weakness, but out of choice. It might look like cultivating softness, receptivity, vulnerability as deliberate practices. It might look like slowing down, feeling more, asking for what she needs rather than figuring it out herself.

For men, the work is equally important: developing the capacity to access his own feminine side, his own capacity for feeling (not just thinking), his own emotional depth—without losing his masculine presence and focus. A man who can be strong and also tender, decisive and also responsive, has something to offer a woman that a man locked in pure dominance or pure passivity does not.

Gray's core insight is that lasting love isn't a compromise between passion and stability. It's the result of two people who understand their own biology well enough to work with it rather than against it, who can access both masculine and feminine polarities within themselves, and who can create the conditions—safety, presence, reciprocal desire—for passion to not just survive the transition from newness to familiarity, but to evolve into something deeper and more sustainable.

[1:53] today emerald it's it's a pleasure and

[1:56] it's always delightful to be interviewed

[1:58] by somebody who's actually read my most

[2:00] recent book on relationships thank you

[2:02] yes i love it i have so many notes i

[2:05] imagine we'll just free flow today but i

[2:08] have my notes on my computer we'll see

[2:09] if i get into them um before we do

[2:11] though i just want to open up this

[2:13] conversation with why do you believe in

[2:17] unlimited possibilities for lasting love

[2:21] well i i've married to my wife for 34

[2:24] years she has passed on uh

[2:26] we're getting up there i'm 70 now and

[2:29] we had lasting love and i'm in a new

[2:31] relationship and there's lasting love i

[2:34] figured it out and uh it's very very

[2:37] the idea is simple

[2:40] but

[2:41] there's a lot of changes we have to

[2:43] understand it's a complex thing but the

[2:45] idea is very simple

[2:47] uh women have moved over to their male

[2:50] side to come back to their female side

[2:52] have a lot of practical insights not to

[2:54] give up their male side but to balance

[2:56] it with their female side and when you

[2:59] can do that then a doorway opens up for

[3:03] lasting love and passion i think my

[3:06] parents generation

[3:08] had lasting love they loved each other

[3:11] they were companions seven children and

[3:14] they stayed together but there was no

[3:16] passion i think after the kids were born

[3:18] the passion went away

[3:20] and they were comfortable comfortable

[3:22] together they loved each other and that

[3:24] was kind of the

[3:25] the goal

[3:26] of relationships in the past because you

[3:29] really couldn't get more than that

[3:31] however when women are all are free to

[3:34] be on their male side and female side

[3:37] there's the ability to balance the

[3:39] hormones inside such a way that making

[3:42] love

[3:43] will create passion

[3:45] that then gradually drains out during

[3:47] the week and then you bring it back up

[3:49] again through making love and

[3:52] that's just the reality of life but you

[3:54] feel love all the time and it's

[3:56] different

[3:58] this is particularly from a man's point

[3:59] of view

[4:01] a man

[4:03] feels the most love when he's having sex

[4:05] okay that's how we're wired up women can

[4:08] feel love for their children not that i

[4:10] don't love my children but that women

[4:12] feel love for their pets for their

[4:14] environment for their friends for the

[4:17] for god you know the women have more

[4:19] access to feelings

[4:21] now men have a kind of love

[4:24] if they're healthy is responsibility

[4:26] okay i'm responsible i'm selfless i'm

[4:28] committed i'm there for you but that

[4:31] doesn't mean

[4:32] i feel love

[4:34] see feeling love is high estrogen it's a

[4:38] hormone that generates that feeling of

[4:40] love and when a man can feel

[4:43] both his testosterone which is desire

[4:46] and focus and selflessness and presence

[4:48] all that stuff that women want from him

[4:51] and

[4:52] it's with a woman he can now relate to

[4:55] he'll connect to her feelings and opens

[4:58] his heart to feel his female side

[5:01] without having to become feminine

[5:03] he's masculine but he's in touch with

[5:06] his own female side through her

[5:09] through making love and the passion just

[5:12] goes higher and higher and higher so the

[5:15] outcome of that just to know

[5:17] you know where we're going with all this

[5:19] we'll look at the practical skills for

[5:20] this

[5:22] is

[5:23] if we look at biologically for women

[5:25] uh to be orgasmic to be multi-orgasmic

[5:29] which is a wonderful experience for

[5:31] absolutely teach us how to do that

[5:34] well it's a big foundation but

[5:35] multi-orgasmic is great and what that's

[5:38] what if you look at her hormones at that

[5:40] time they're

[5:41] basically 20 times more estrogen than a

[5:44] normal man has it doubles her own

[5:46] estrogen levels let's say she's happy

[5:49] and then he goes through all the

[5:50] procedures that will actually support

[5:52] her estrogen going higher and higher and

[5:55] higher she becomes multi-orgasmic

[5:57] now part of what helps her to get over

[5:59] the lid so to speak is you've got all

[6:02] these romantic gestures but that's

[6:04] old-fashioned that helps without a doubt

[6:06] but we need new communication skills and

[6:09] we need men with higher testosterone

[6:11] levels what research has shown us is

[6:13] that as men's testosterone levels rise

[6:17] in the presence of his his partner

[6:20] meaning he's not just uh thinking about

[6:22] some fantasy and it's happening but

[6:24] actually when her

[6:25] energy when her body when her heart when

[6:27] her mind is turning him on

[6:30] his testosterone levels will rise he'll

[6:32] put out a smell of pheromones most

[6:35] people are familiar with that term if

[6:37] they're not it's something you don't

[6:38] consciously smell but it's a signal that

[6:42] your body puts out that your

[6:43] testosterone levels are going higher and

[6:45] higher and higher

[6:47] that raises a woman's estrogen to higher

[6:50] levels i mean it's a biological thing

[6:52] and there's so much biology going on

[6:54] here because that means

[6:56] it's kind of what she felt in the

[6:58] beginning when there was newness

[7:01] newness will stimulate artificially

[7:03] see newness goes away familiarity sets

[7:06] in we've made love 15 times okay we did

[7:08] that

[7:08] that's new skin over there so newness

[7:11] stimulates this high level of

[7:13] testosterone in men but once newness

[7:16] goes away

[7:17] comfort sets in love more more love sets

[7:20] in so forth family feelings all that

[7:22] knocks down the dopamine that's the

[7:24] newness and

[7:27] he's dependent now on polarity his

[7:31] testosterone has to go up

[7:33] based upon the relationship rather than

[7:36] based upon newness and that's the shift

[7:39] all couples go through and what i'm

[7:41] focusing on with my work understanding

[7:43] male and female is when when a man

[7:48] is able to provide support for a woman's

[7:50] estrogen to go up

[7:52] his testosterone will go up as his

[7:54] testosterone goes up if the conditions

[7:57] are right she feels safe she feels

[7:58] special it's monogamy then her estrogen

[8:01] will go even higher that will raise his

[8:03] testosterone so there's different

[8:05] studies showing high estrogen a woman

[8:07] raises a man's testosterone high

[8:10] testosterone and a man raises a woman's

[8:12] estrogen so what you have is a

[8:14] reciprocity and that's called making

[8:16] love and you can go higher and higher

[8:18] and there's no other possibility to go

[8:20] that high

[8:21] it's just a ecstatic union and when you

[8:24] can you can only create that coming back

[8:26] to the beginning of this conversation if

[8:29] women have enough of their male side and

[8:32] men have enough of their female side but

[8:34] they have to be able to go to their

[8:36] female side without losing their

[8:38] masculine

[8:39] and that i think is the challenge not to

[8:42] interrupt you as we were talking before

[8:43] we before we hit record so many women

[8:46] especially the women watching the summit

[8:48] are so much in their masculine and then

[8:50] they wonder why do i attract in these

[8:53] feminine men these wimpy men there's no

[8:55] good men out there when couldn't we

[8:57] argue it's their own fault because

[8:58] there's so much in their masculine so

[9:00] much testosterone that you're saying

[9:02] they're attracting in the opposite a

[9:04] very estrogen-rich man

[9:06] yes you said it right i

[9:09] i try to say it more softly as it will

[9:11] be very direct yeah

[9:13] my daughter who also teaches classes uh

[9:17] at mars venus.com she got a note from

[9:19] somebody who says lauren i really love

[9:21] to hear what you say sometimes i think

[9:23] your father hates women

[9:27] only because

[9:28] i have to point if somebody if a woman

[9:31] comes to me to make her relationship

[9:32] better

[9:33] i can only point out to her her mistakes

[9:36] okay you can't

[9:37] if if i just say yeah you're doing

[9:39] everything right then we're in a pity

[9:40] party and nothing's gonna change and

[9:43] then you put the man in the room while

[9:45] she's in a pity party uh he'll just get

[9:47] defensive it's a it's an explosive event

[9:51] right so it's like we have to be honest

[9:53] with the single women specifically that

[9:55] are too much and they're masculine

[9:56] because they're kicking ass taking names

[9:58] at work hyper successful testosterone

[10:01] driven and one of the biggest challenges

[10:03] my clients share with me is i don't know

[10:05] how to soften in my feminine or i don't

[10:08] know how to trust men because they're so

[10:09] used to doing it by themselves for five

[10:11] years 10 years even maybe 15 20 years as

[10:14] a single mom so what do you suggest to

[10:16] these women besides reading your book

[10:18] which is absolutely amazing by the way i

[10:20] highly recommend it i've been sharing it

[10:22] with all of my clients to read but i've

[10:24] got you

[10:25] on camera so you share with us how are

[10:28] we helping these women too hyper

[10:30] masculine to get back in their feminine

[10:32] trust the man again well you know you

[10:34] said something very significant in there

[10:37] uh i have a lot to say about what you

[10:38] just said but one one thing i never

[10:40] talked about as much

[10:42] is learning how to trust

[10:45] because you're so good at doing it

[10:46] yourself you see what happens if you

[10:49] can't do something yourself

[10:51] like go back a few hundred years or even

[10:53] 50 years whit many women couldn't earn a

[10:55] living right so they couldn't earn a

[10:57] living and so they had to depend on a

[11:00] man for their survival and security

[11:03] so you're in a situation where you're

[11:05] depending on him you're you're

[11:06] developing your ability to trust

[11:10] and i i try to relate to everything i

[11:12] have a very strong both male and female

[11:14] side i've mastered this whole thing i

[11:16] have ecstatic sex i'm 70 years old my

[11:18] testosterone levels are 50 percent

[11:20] higher than a young man

[11:22] nice

[11:23] it's

[11:24] it's really nice okay it took a lot of

[11:26] work to get there inspirational for men

[11:28] of all ages absolutely and i hope to

[11:30] help men but also have to help women

[11:33] because it's a two-way street but when

[11:35] i'm talking to mainly women then we have

[11:37] to focus on how women need to adjust

[11:41] if i had men here i'd be talking about

[11:43] how men can adjust and have the change

[11:45] but you want to feel your power as a

[11:47] woman which is i have the ability

[11:49] to make some adjustments and come back

[11:52] to my female side

[11:54] now coming back to your female side

[11:57] is coming back to using a man to feel

[12:00] better so how do you use a man to feel

[12:03] better that's the whole when you're and

[12:05] when you're single how does that work

[12:08] yeah that's called well when you're

[12:09] single you have the preparation for for

[12:12] it but you also have the dating process

[12:14] you never date a man if you're single

[12:17] and you're over 25 don't date a man

[12:21] who's

[12:22] you're more interested in than he's

[12:24] interested in you

[12:25] hmm

[12:26] or don't date a man

[12:28] who you don't know him and you suddenly

[12:31] feel sexually aroused this is out of

[12:33] balance this is you and your male side

[12:35] this is also

[12:37] in psychological terms we call it uh

[12:39] well a lot of different terms it's a

[12:42] traumatic bonding with your father okay

[12:45] absent fathers create a

[12:47] imbalance in your hormones so that you

[12:49] see an absent man unavailable married

[12:52] dangerous drug addict and little

[12:54] antennas go up and said he's the one for

[12:56] me

[12:58] that one i picked that guy yeah

[13:00] and and the way you pick him is based

[13:02] upon sexual attraction see men

[13:06] and a healthy male he will go into a

[13:09] room and there's a certain number of

[13:10] women in there if he's really young he's

[13:12] attracted any woman is a short skirt but

[13:14] as he matures and gets to know the

[13:16] people

[13:17] he's not going to be attracted to all

[13:19] women he's going to be attracted to

[13:21] a certain chemistry that goes on that's

[13:23] a physical chemistry a man needs to feel

[13:26] before pursuing a relationship generally

[13:29] speaking now let's say i was

[13:32] the except you know the exception is

[13:33] everything i say so

[13:35] if i'm if i'm married

[13:37] and i'm not available i'm in a

[13:39] relationship then i won't feel sexual so

[13:42] much attraction i won't feel my hardly

[13:43] any attraction to these other women but

[13:45] i can say in my mind if i wasn't married

[13:48] that's the woman i would go for okay see

[13:50] this is a knowing of the body that's a

[13:52] physical chemistry

[13:54] women need to feel healthy

[13:57] what i'm suggesting is the healthy

[13:59] beginnings of relationship is in your

[14:01] mind you feel a healthy uh chemistry

[14:04] with him meaning it's not sexual at all

[14:07] it's curiosity it's interest it's

[14:09] admiration it's exploration you want to

[14:12] get to know him you want to get you just

[14:14] you're drawn to him you want to talk to

[14:16] him you want to share yourself with him

[14:17] you want to share your ideas with him

[14:20] there's a place of intellectual mental

[14:23] compatibility that you start with

[14:25] and that's conversation

[14:27] so let me interrupt you for a second so

[14:29] when a woman

[14:30] sleeps with a man on a first date for

[14:32] example or is just interested in him for

[14:34] sex is that being too much in her

[14:37] masculine lately completely and what

[14:39] about when a woman thinks oh if i sleep

[14:41] with him then he'll like me where is

[14:43] that coming from illusion

[14:48] crazy listen there's a great cartoon

[14:50] where where uh

[14:52] the woman's asking the man uh is it true

[14:55] that you'll like me less if you have sex

[14:57] with me after the on the first date and

[14:59] he says

[15:00] well i'll like myself more

[15:02] [Laughter]

[15:05] oh my god that's horrible but brilliant

[15:07] and true absolutely so you know if you

[15:10] want to sell your wild oats and be on

[15:11] your mail site and go ahead but on your

[15:13] female side

[15:15] the

[15:16] the arousal it's not sexual arousal but

[15:18] it's it's the joy of relating is having

[15:21] conversation with the guy getting to

[15:23] know him having him primarily get to

[15:25] know you i want to be seen i want to be

[15:28] heard i want to be validated i want to

[15:32] have that interaction

[15:34] next comes more of an emotional

[15:36] interaction a compatibility emotional

[15:38] chemistry which is he does things for

[15:42] you

[15:42] he does things he plans a date he does

[15:45] this he does that

[15:46] and it makes you happy you know it

[15:49] you see he has to bond with you as well

[15:51] see he doesn't bond with you if it's

[15:53] just sexually he needs to bond with you

[15:55] by first getting to know you and having

[15:57] respect for you and interest in you then

[16:00] you open your heart

[16:02] first it opens by him doing things for

[16:04] you and you're delighted and you're

[16:06] happy but if you're running the show

[16:08] he doesn't get a chance to bond with you

[16:11] by providing something for you now this

[16:13] sounds so old-fashioned but it's the

[16:15] masculine side of us is the part of us

[16:17] that wants to provide for others now

[16:20] they feel needed right and feel

[16:22] appreciated respected all of this like a

[16:24] man

[16:25] has to and you can correct me if i'm

[16:27] wrong you're the expert

[16:29] he needs to feel needed what you need to

[16:31] feel is safety and trust i i deserve it

[16:35] and i can get it so what kind of a

[16:37] context can you feel i deserve to have

[16:39] him pay for the meal

[16:42] plan a date for me

[16:44] what's the context that allows you to do

[16:46] that because you're not a selfish person

[16:49] the context is the understanding that

[16:51] allowing a man to make you smile

[16:54] is a huge gift to him

[16:57] see women don't know that because if

[17:00] if i let you do things for me and i

[17:02] smile

[17:03] maybe in the beginning you think i'll

[17:05] give you give it back to you but very

[17:06] soon you'll feel like most women in

[17:08] relationships where they say i give and

[17:10] i give and i get nothing back

[17:12] when you give and give to men they think

[17:14] oh okay i must have done something good

[17:16] to deserve that and they do less

[17:19] well i love that you said that in your

[17:20] book a woman gives more and gets less

[17:23] and so if she actually wants to get more

[17:24] from her man she needs to give less and

[17:27] retreat and take more time for herself

[17:29] actually

[17:30] well there's taking time for yourself

[17:32] and then there's taking time for him

[17:35] to stimulate your female side and many

[17:38] times when women don't have a clear

[17:40] understanding of male and female

[17:42] differences we really come at the world

[17:44] through different lenses and at times we

[17:46] have a balanced lens and then we've got

[17:49] role reversal which is what you'll tend

[17:51] to

[17:52] create in your life

[17:55] if you're a woman more on your male side

[17:57] you'll tend to create being in

[17:59] relationships with guys are more on

[18:01] their female side

[18:03] there's a term of a very popular back

[18:05] book before a minute from mars it was

[18:07] called codependent no more

[18:09] i've read that book yeah it's a very

[18:11] good book great one yeah it gave me a

[18:13] lot of insight into women as a

[18:15] foundation for my book although 10 years

[18:17] of listening to women validated that

[18:19] yeah for sure but a simple definition of

[18:24] codependence is kind of a definition of

[18:27] any woman who's struggling in a

[18:28] relationship

[18:29] she gives your she makes her partner's

[18:32] needs

[18:33] more important than her own

[18:35] yeah she makes her partner's needs more

[18:38] important than her own and she will tend

[18:40] to and that's co-dependent and she will

[18:42] tend to be attracted to and attract what

[18:45] many people are calling today a moderate

[18:47] form of narcissism so many women say i

[18:50] meet narcissistic men and then i go oh

[18:52] we have a co-dependent woman

[18:57] making somebody else's needs more

[18:59] important than your own is codependence

[19:02] and narcissism from a limited

[19:04] perspective is making my needs more

[19:07] important than yours

[19:08] and how do we find that balance right

[19:11] exactly so the key to it is now let's

[19:14] look at biology

[19:16] women need to make just to be happy not

[19:18] even romantic 10 times more estrogen

[19:21] than a man

[19:23] men need to make on average 10 times

[19:25] more testosterone than a woman

[19:28] testosterone is produced when i'm making

[19:31] your needs more important than mine

[19:34] um

[19:35] so if we put that in codependency terms

[19:38] that's codependency whereas narcissism

[19:40] is more

[19:40] feminine

[19:42] well exactly can we say okay

[19:45] i'm giving the biological basis of what

[19:47] we would call a narcissistic man is

[19:49] actually a very healthy woman and what

[19:51] we would call a codependent man is in

[19:54] many cases is a very healthy man which

[19:56] means he

[19:58] his happiness primarily comes from

[20:00] making her happy making her happy but

[20:02] that's not the whole picture because

[20:04] before he can depend on her response for

[20:08] him to feel happier he first has to be

[20:12] happy in his own life

[20:14] see there's men are not ready for

[20:17] intimate relationships they may be horny

[20:19] they may want a relationship they want

[20:21] sex which by the way shows that he's on

[20:23] his female side he's wanting sex to get

[20:25] to his female side

[20:27] you are his female size you see this is

[20:30] about but he has to have enough

[20:32] testosterone

[20:33] because when he when he has sex with you

[20:36] he's his estrogen will go up okay

[20:39] anytime a man experiences pleasure

[20:42] or love

[20:43] our joy

[20:45] our gratitude all those good feelings

[20:48] as estrogen

[20:49] now i have lots of estrogen but i have a

[20:53] lot more testosterone so i can stay

[20:56] grounded in the part of me that doesn't

[20:58] take things personally

[21:00] if you're not grounded into your

[21:02] biological sex you don't know who you

[21:05] are

[21:06] and therefore you take everything

[21:08] personally what it means to take

[21:09] something personally if some if a guy

[21:12] shoots me the finger

[21:13] i i wave at him and say have a good day

[21:16] and move on i don't engage myself with

[21:19] that now when i had low self lower

[21:20] self-esteem when i once never had low

[21:22] self-esteem but when i was maturing if

[21:26] somebody shot me the finger i'd shoot it

[21:27] back or i'd be bummed out all day and i

[21:30] feel terrible and whatever that's

[21:32] because i'm letting that person

[21:34] determine who i am and that's what

[21:37] self-esteem is another example of that

[21:40] is when i was a young man i was teaching

[21:41] meditation

[21:43] my first talk on transcendental

[21:44] meditation i was 19 years old

[21:47] and

[21:48] only one person came

[21:50] i was devastated

[21:53] now then the second talk i made sure

[21:55] there was an audience of 30 people

[21:57] and after that a nice talk people

[22:00] clapped you know i'm a beginner at that

[22:01] point and they had a good evening it was

[22:03] good information i was just copying

[22:04] somebody else's information at that time

[22:06] so it was good good ideas it wasn't like

[22:08] i was a master of it and

[22:10] and people clapped and got a lot out of

[22:12] it some people learned to meditate but

[22:14] there were always like two or three

[22:15] people that would come afterwards and

[22:17] question me in this why would you say

[22:19] this tone of voice where they weren't

[22:21] agreeing with me and they they felt

[22:23] offended by what i said or they felt uh

[22:26] critical of what i said or that i'm

[22:28] misleading people so those people three

[22:31] people and 30 people thought it was a

[22:33] wonderful talk three people didn't

[22:36] when i go home that night who occupies

[22:38] my brain

[22:40] the three that didn't like it

[22:42] don't like me that's that's my own low

[22:44] self-esteem where i my sense of success

[22:47] is dependent upon

[22:49] just three people as opposed to

[22:51] it's healthy 30 people love me sounds

[22:54] great i did a good job and we are always

[22:57] interdependent i'm not again nobody's an

[23:00] island on themselves that's what

[23:01] relationship is about

[23:03] but when our partner is not providing

[23:06] the kind of support we would like or

[23:08] need

[23:08] then we disconnect a bit and not

[23:11] dependent on them and depend more on

[23:13] ourselves so a little self-talk oh what

[23:15] they need is this or she's had a bad day

[23:17] or he just you know he needs to take his

[23:19] alone time for a while i've been

[23:21] pestering him you know you're able to

[23:22] take responsibility but you're also not

[23:24] taking things so personally and this is

[23:26] this is like you know one of the best

[23:28] things of men are from mars and i

[23:30] elevated it in

[23:32] beyond mars and venus it's kind of like

[23:34] the updated minute from mars but with

[23:36] science but that one of the big

[23:38] revelations is when men go to their cave

[23:42] and when they go to their cave women

[23:44] often take it personally now if you're

[23:47] if you're attracted to in the beginning

[23:49] this guy who's more on his female side

[23:51] oh i have such compassion for women

[23:53] today

[23:54] they're like you said they're so wimpy

[23:57] they're so neat

[23:58] they're so grumpy they're so irritable

[24:01] and you just want to get away from them

[24:02] you know you want to take your cave time

[24:05] but cave time for women only strengthens

[24:07] male hormones

[24:09] so rather than take and there's a

[24:11] certain balance

[24:12] uh you do need to have your own time

[24:14] separate from your partners a big theme

[24:16] in my books which is you need to look at

[24:19] a man as ten percent of your happiness

[24:22] this ninety percent is you have a life

[24:24] he's dessert

[24:25] man is just dessert okay i'm so glad you

[24:28] said that because that's a big premise

[24:30] of what i teach and believe in is make

[24:32] your life the happiest version it can be

[24:34] and then attract in a partner when

[24:36] you're already your best self like

[24:38] that's going to be a fabulous

[24:40] relationship then you complete me john

[24:42] my life is not happy until you step into

[24:45] it and so the more enlightened version

[24:48] of that is you make me so much happier

[24:50] there's nothing wrong with you are so

[24:52] special i don't know what it is you make

[24:54] me so much happier i'm a happy fulfilled

[24:56] person but you can take me to the

[24:58] heavens and i'm so lucky and grateful to

[25:00] have you in my life

[25:01] and biologically that takes a man who

[25:05] has

[25:06] higher testosterone levels due to your

[25:09] responses to him so back to this idea of

[25:12] why is it that you deserve to have your

[25:15] needs met more than him

[25:18] because fulfilling your needs is

[25:20] actually fulfilling his highest needs

[25:23] when he does something for you and

[25:25] you're happy his testosterone goes up

[25:28] and men today that's their primary need

[25:30] they need help in a relationship to bump

[25:33] up their testosterone uh it's so glad

[25:36] you said that because so many women have

[25:38] these

[25:39] hyper masculine i'm a woman i can do it

[25:41] on my own

[25:42] and the reality is what you're sharing

[25:45] is you are giving credence and reason

[25:46] why these old roles which i'm definitely

[25:49] old-fashioned i love being the feminine

[25:50] in relationship i love having a strong

[25:52] masculine partner but so many women feel

[25:55] uncomfortable around well why should he

[25:57] pay why should he plan why should he do

[25:59] it like some of it's maybe low

[26:01] self-worth but some of it is just this

[26:02] hyper i can do it on my own and i love

[26:05] that you just shared biologically when a

[26:07] man

[26:08] makes a woman happy by providing for her

[26:11] it actually fulfills his need increases

[26:14] his testosterone so ladies are you

[26:16] listening we need to let men be men and

[26:19] take care of us and then we need to of

[26:20] course appreciate them and shower them

[26:22] with the praises and gratitude and love

[26:25] so so you know i hear so much for women

[26:27] where they say oh i got another

[26:29] narcissistic man another narcissistic

[26:31] man so women have a fear of themselves

[26:34] appearing narcissistic and and look what

[26:37] i'm making so much money why am i having

[26:39] you pay for the meal you see when women

[26:42] couldn't make money

[26:43] then a man without feeling great because

[26:46] i could buy you a meal and and so he

[26:48] felt wonderful and she had a logical

[26:50] reason well he should pay because i

[26:52] don't make any money okay right

[26:55] i'm testing the field of what men have

[26:57] enough testosterone where their

[26:59] happiness comes by making me happy and

[27:02] that's always been the dynamic is women

[27:04] have all these men to pick from and

[27:06] you're testing out what man who's happy

[27:09] to be there for you when you ask for

[27:11] more or when you need more it's kind of

[27:13] like your knight in shining armor and i

[27:15] know that's people like oh we don't like

[27:17] all that but the biology is such now

[27:20] here we i just come back to the simple

[27:21] biological understanding women need 10

[27:24] times more estrogen now having said that

[27:26] than men

[27:27] what generates testosterone is i'm sorry

[27:30] what generates estrogen is when you're

[27:33] in touch with a need

[27:35] and you trust that somebody will fulfill

[27:37] that need for you without public it's

[27:40] like you don't have to pay

[27:42] they're happy to do that for me okay so

[27:45] it's like my pets i'm happy to take care

[27:47] of my i have a new puppy so now i'm

[27:49] feeding her what type of puppy do you

[27:52] have i should bring her everybody would

[27:53] die of it you should oh my god

[27:57] she's she's a little um

[27:59] golden retriever poodle uh oh golden

[28:03] doodle golden stop it those are the

[28:05] cutest smartest dogs in the world what's

[28:07] her name

[28:08] dodo

[28:09] [Laughter]

[28:12] you know i say dodo come she comes don't

[28:15] sit

[28:17] she's always so happy and enthusiastic

[28:19] and not that a woman has to be that but

[28:22] a man in his dog you know

[28:24] one of the major things that causes a

[28:25] man to cry is if his dog gets hurt

[28:28] i am

[28:31] and

[28:32] the dog basically all that dog needs is

[28:35] pet the dog be affectionate to the dog

[28:38] you have to attend to it all the time

[28:40] but you've got to pet it you've got to

[28:41] attend it's into it you've got to feed

[28:43] it you've got to provide for it and then

[28:45] dog's happy okay so if men just

[28:47] understood

[28:48] the feeding requirements of a woman a

[28:51] woman

[28:53] and how to pet her and love her

[28:57] but

[28:57] more so women actually have to

[28:59] understand men are like dogs if you

[29:00] reward them with a treat they'll do it

[29:02] again and again they need a little treat

[29:05] and i my dog just loves those little

[29:06] treats i don't know what's in them but

[29:08] she sure likes that better than her

[29:10] kibbles okay so i pull out that little

[29:12] treat she's wagging her tail and she

[29:13] wants it well women are the treat for

[29:16] men

[29:17] because you have feminine energy men

[29:20] need feminine energy if they can't get

[29:23] it from outside

[29:25] okay they can't get feminine energy from

[29:27] outside what happens is they go to their

[29:30] own female side and that makes them weak

[29:33] now having said that

[29:35] i'm completely on my female side almost

[29:38] all the time along with a higher

[29:40] masculine side okay so

[29:42] naturally as men get older

[29:45] estrogen levels rise so i have much

[29:48] higher estrogen levels than i did when i

[29:50] was a young man that's my female side

[29:52] that's a part of me that actually loves

[29:54] everything i do i'm happy all the time i

[29:56] have very little resistance i'm

[29:58] massively trusting life i'm accepting of

[30:00] life i don't demand perfection i'm like

[30:03] the perfect wife i joke with my partner

[30:05] now i like

[30:06] you're so lucky but i'm also the perfect

[30:08] husband okay or a hus or male

[30:11] because my happiness comes but doing

[30:13] things for her and i actually know

[30:17] it's you know because just to understand

[30:19] masculinity you see these men i was just

[30:21] counseling a couple in there at my age

[30:23] at 70. and he just he's he just smokes

[30:26] grass and he doesn't do his job anymore

[30:29] he's retired and

[30:31] and she's like working she she's she's

[30:33] got her male energy naturally women as

[30:36] they get older their estrogen levels

[30:38] start to drop down their testosterone

[30:40] increases but

[30:41] but the biology of her adrenal gland

[30:44] even after um after menopause the

[30:47] adrenal gland can make plenty of

[30:48] estrogen not like she had before but

[30:51] plenty of estrogen it's not that

[30:53] it's not how much estrogen you have at

[30:56] different ages you require less to have

[30:58] a normal well-being you're just not

[31:00] making a baby anymore so you don't need

[31:02] to have as much estrogen your body but

[31:03] you can be multi-orgasmic as long as

[31:07] your estrogen levels are hitting a very

[31:08] high level for your biology

[31:11] risen by his testosterone see you know

[31:15] that's male 1

[31:17] but what if you don't have that male

[31:18] right because we're talking to single

[31:20] women right now and i imagine they're

[31:22] like well thanks john that's great i'm

[31:24] single so how am i gonna get that

[31:25] estrogen if i don't have that

[31:27] testosterone and so i think this is an

[31:29] important topic to dig into and i know

[31:32] you get so many examples in your book so

[31:33] we're going to plug the book again but

[31:35] how do we get these hyper masculine

[31:37] testosterone driven women to

[31:40] soften into their feminine produce more

[31:42] estrogen

[31:43] okay the first of all the reality is it

[31:45] won't feel natural

[31:47] okay take willpower it's like giving up

[31:49] ice cream if ice cream makes you fat at

[31:52] 70 years old

[31:53] normal ice cream makes me fat and i get

[31:56] start to get a belly now that's death to

[31:58] a man

[31:59] when men get a belly bellies produce

[32:02] estrogen and estrogen expresses

[32:04] testosterone that's the function of fat

[32:07] fat is on our body to make estrogen one

[32:09] of its major functions it makes estrogen

[32:11] also makes energy but the fat is there

[32:14] for and women have are born with more

[32:16] genes to make fat because they need to

[32:18] make babies they have 25 more fat genes

[32:21] on average

[32:23] men have 25 percent more

[32:25] uh testosterone muscle genes genes to

[32:28] make muscles now certainly there's women

[32:29] who have more muscle than me because

[32:30] they work that side of them

[32:32] they run out of estrogen and they can't

[32:34] make babies as a result so and and

[32:37] well-being and sexual fulfillment

[32:39] orgasmic energy is not going to be

[32:42] present unless women have enough

[32:43] softness to generate the estrogen in

[32:46] order to get to these higher levels and

[32:48] men have to have enough muscle mass they

[32:50] need to have testosterone and everything

[32:53] i say there's always a yes but

[32:55] of course i have to back up for a moment

[32:57] if you look at all these muscle guys

[32:59] uh even if they're not taking steroids

[33:01] if they're taking steroids for their

[33:03] muscles they can't get erections they

[33:05] take viagra and that's not real

[33:07] uh testosterone you see that's not going

[33:09] to raise her estrogen levels if he takes

[33:11] viagra that's all just fake sex what you

[33:14] want is a man who's who's an iron penis

[33:16] for you okay that's what i say to the

[33:18] iron men you know try being an iron

[33:20] penis not an iron man okay

[33:22] i love that muscles well

[33:25] just for fun i'll tell you where that

[33:27] phrase came from so tell me

[33:29] i just did it london i just finished

[33:31] doing a big human

[33:33] health optimization summit in london and

[33:37] and i'm having breakfast in the morning

[33:39] at my hotel and there's three iron men

[33:41] around me and their wives that were all

[33:43] just talking

[33:45] and they're telling me why they're iron

[33:47] men they can do these long endurance

[33:48] things they can do this and they could

[33:50] do this and i said well i can't they

[33:51] said what do you do john i said well

[33:53] don't really do that but i'm the iron

[33:55] penis

[33:57] and they all just got very quiet

[34:00] and then when i gave my talk on how to

[34:02] create the art penis which was i gave a

[34:04] new title for fun and they didn't come

[34:07] okay

[34:09] and they clearly pun intended

[34:14] anyway so but but it's not just that

[34:17] they take steroids one of the one of the

[34:19] beginning stages of my understanding all

[34:21] this stuff about hormones is

[34:23] i had a very like uh

[34:26] mr atlas type client okay he was like a

[34:28] superman this perfect body that if you

[34:30] take off a shirt you just go aw

[34:32] perfection he trained a lot he was a

[34:35] trainer for the army and the various

[34:38] things like that

[34:39] and

[34:40] uh he said you know his problem was once

[34:42] he had sex with his girlfriend three or

[34:44] four times he couldn't get it up anymore

[34:46] and i explained to him that because you

[34:48] care about a woman he says i can do i

[34:50] can masturbate i can do online porn but

[34:52] i can't do it with her and that's the

[34:54] that was in my that's back in 92 okay

[34:57] that's when i started realizing all

[34:58] these guys masturbating the more they

[35:00] masturbate the less they're able to be

[35:02] turned on to a real woman and that's

[35:04] what's happening today is guys just

[35:06] can't stay turned on to their partners

[35:08] but in his case it wasn't because he was

[35:10] doing porn it was because he was using

[35:12] up all his testosterone because he was

[35:14] over training

[35:17] he spent hours every day training and it

[35:20] takes testosterone to make muscles now

[35:23] when you make muscles from testosterone

[35:25] you can't over train you work a certain

[35:28] amount and then you have to rest and

[35:30] that's kind of how i started developing

[35:32] some of the ideas that built into men

[35:34] need their cave time cave time is really

[35:37] he's relaxing

[35:39] uh without being in a a

[35:42] relational situation like his wife or

[35:44] his children or anything that would

[35:46] produce estrogen he relaxes in an

[35:50] activity that produces testosterone the

[35:52] problem is and men need that that's

[35:55] their time to recover and so it's known

[35:57] in sports that you need to if you want

[35:59] to actually build more muscle mass you

[36:01] need to work out and you need time to

[36:02] recover two days to recover you build

[36:04] back again or you work other muscles

[36:06] every day but you those muscles have a

[36:08] chance to recover so men are all about

[36:10] action and rest action and rest

[36:13] and women are all about give and receive

[36:15] give and receive

[36:17] but the challenge for women is to to

[36:20] give on the basis of having received

[36:23] and what you give is what a man needs

[36:26] and what a man primarily needs is not

[36:28] you to do things for him

[36:31] but to appreciate what he does for you

[36:34] and so now we're back at that insight

[36:36] that you you commented on a minute ago

[36:38] which is women

[36:40] and here's a study to back it up

[36:43] just spending i think it's like five

[36:45] minutes in in this presence of a woman

[36:48] who's happy

[36:50] and responding with a smile to something

[36:52] he said or something he did or his

[36:55] presence

[36:56] just that

[36:58] makes a man's well-being dramatically

[37:00] increase for the day

[37:02] now it should be another argument

[37:04] against nagging or complaining or trying

[37:07] to point out as flaws with so many women

[37:10] get stuck in that pattern which is why i

[37:12] always try to tell them like appreciate

[37:14] your man be grateful for your man it's

[37:16] very hard for that to be sincere if

[37:19] she's on her male side that's the

[37:21] problem ooh

[37:23] when a woman's on her male side and not

[37:25] on her female side at the same time you

[37:27] can be just on your female side or you

[37:29] can be on your male side and female side

[37:31] at the same time so if

[37:34] she's not

[37:37] if she's not making

[37:39] more estrogen

[37:41] significantly than her testosterone like

[37:43] right now you are balanced you're doing

[37:45] your job you know you've got to promote

[37:47] yourself get yourself out there you've

[37:49] got to make a difference you got to pay

[37:51] bills whatever all that

[37:53] is your male side but you're looking

[37:55] beautiful you look about your how you

[37:57] look you you're

[37:59] nurturing you want to help it's a more

[38:02] of a nurturing thing and also you love

[38:04] it you like it you're enjoying yourself

[38:06] you see all those are that's your female

[38:08] energy which attracts

[38:10] female energy attracts people to support

[38:13] you male energy attracts people who need

[38:16] you

[38:17] okay so what you want is both you need

[38:19] an audience that your male side pulls

[38:21] forth the audience because you have

[38:22] confidence and skill and service and

[38:24] help people but your female side people

[38:27] look oh i like that that just feels good

[38:29] i want to be around happy positive

[38:31] joyful

[38:32] and that's female power you know we talk

[38:34] about empowering women

[38:36] yes being on your male side can earn

[38:38] money and express your talents and

[38:40] that's all good

[38:42] but your power is you know you could be

[38:44] the best writer in the world but you

[38:45] need somebody to read your books you

[38:47] need to attract okay

[38:49] i've attracted

[38:50] 50 million people to read my books i

[38:52] have a really good wife and i'm a better

[38:54] husband

[38:58] anyway so it's it's basically having the

[39:01] male and female side and in a context of

[39:04] just understand

[39:06] the female side of us is the side of us

[39:08] that

[39:09] has needs and has support okay and now

[39:13] to be supported if you have feminine

[39:15] energy means you're not so picky about

[39:17] things you're not complaining about

[39:19] things you're able to see the good in

[39:20] things that's balance

[39:23] now if you're balanced on your male and

[39:24] female side then you can do that and

[39:26] this is what's great about women today

[39:28] they have the greater potential to be

[39:30] focused on the positive but they also

[39:32] have to look at the negative now let's

[39:35] just take that concept for a moment that

[39:37] life is about problems and solutions

[39:40] life is about not enough and abundance

[39:43] okay so i have abundance in my life but

[39:46] i don't have enough to make everybody

[39:48] abundant okay so

[39:50] so there's a lack i'd like to have more

[39:51] so i can help more people but i'm very

[39:54] happy with what i have that's seeing the

[39:56] positive and seeing the negative seeing

[39:58] the the glass half full and half empty

[40:01] seeing both sides of it now interesting

[40:04] is

[40:05] the the physiology of the brain is such

[40:08] they've now found out that when people

[40:10] are pessimistic that's looking at the

[40:12] dark side of things and remembering the

[40:13] problems right

[40:15] that's what gives rise to nagging and

[40:17] complaining okay looking at the dark

[40:18] side of things looking at what's missing

[40:21] looking what you should be better okay

[40:24] then that's the negative what they found

[40:26] is we'll call that pessimistic because

[40:27] that's the research

[40:29] so pessimistic when their person is

[40:31] pessimistic

[40:33] their

[40:34] right prefrontal cortex gets blood flow

[40:36] and the left does not

[40:39] interesting very interesting i love when

[40:41] the biology supports ideas of balance

[40:43] yeah now the left prefrontal cortex

[40:46] becomes active blood flow starts

[40:48] increasing more there more activity on

[40:49] the left side you're an optimistic

[40:52] person

[40:53] now let's go back in history a little

[40:55] bit and understand the relationship

[40:56] where we come from as men and women and

[40:58] our biology is a reflection of our

[41:00] evolution

[41:03] you're you're in a and doesn't have to

[41:04] go back too far i've gone to the amazon

[41:06] i saw this okay so i lived in little

[41:08] villages with the people with no contact

[41:10] with the west

[41:12] and all the women are pretty much

[41:13] pregnant are helping each other take

[41:15] care of their kids and they're cooking

[41:17] and they're cleaning and they're a

[41:18] little the tribe all to themselves and

[41:20] the men are all sharpening their tools

[41:22] or out in the jungle and doing their

[41:24] things very different worlds we live in

[41:26] and they're very harmonious

[41:28] and they have a lot of sex by the way a

[41:30] lot of sex

[41:32] what's different about them and for me

[41:34] who has a lot of sex is i'm monogamous

[41:37] they're not monogamous okay so they have

[41:40] another another it's a primitive level

[41:42] of consciousness without a doubt it's

[41:44] this higher level of consciousness where

[41:46] you can be on both the male and female

[41:48] side at the same time and to do that you

[41:50] have to be in a monogamous relationship

[41:52] a woman has to feel

[41:55] so special

[41:57] see with no threat your security has to

[42:00] go so high

[42:01] that there's no threat of losing the man

[42:04] and then through monogamy

[42:07] not only is the security increase but

[42:09] something else increases which is the

[42:12] bonding bonding has to go higher and

[42:14] higher and higher and higher and all it

[42:16] takes to break your bonding is for him

[42:18] to masturbate while he's away from you

[42:20] to do porn would break it even more to

[42:22] have sex with another woman would

[42:24] literally tear that bonding and it's

[42:26] painful it's just like somebody died and

[42:29] it's like you have a bank account you're

[42:31] building it up you're building it up

[42:33] and

[42:34] one of you just spent that money

[42:35] somewhere else and you start again

[42:37] so bonding is a real experience to where

[42:40] just to know where it comes from you

[42:42] know how to get there is coming back to

[42:44] finding your female side and buying

[42:46] balance which one i don't want to forget

[42:47] that

[42:48] but that

[42:49] i speak from my wisdom of a 34-year

[42:52] marriage where he had great sex and i

[42:53] continue to grow in great sex and so

[42:55] forth and understanding it my phd was in

[42:58] sexual counseling you know i've been

[43:00] doing teaching classes on sex

[43:03] you know a minute from mars women from

[43:04] venus i became very

[43:06] successful with that my other book is

[43:08] marzin is in the bedroom which was also

[43:10] number one for a year on the new york

[43:11] times list it's amazing you know sex is

[43:14] a very i just think sex is such an

[43:16] important thing along with good

[43:18] communication skills but you can use sex

[43:21] as well

[43:22] in order to start creating this polarity

[43:24] where she's more on her female side

[43:27] that's another dynamic to it but there's

[43:29] no chance of that growing if you don't

[43:31] have monogamy because every time you go

[43:33] even to be turned on to another woman

[43:35] i'm tearing apart some of the bonding i

[43:37] have to my wife

[43:39] and

[43:40] the more you bond with your partner your

[43:43] body makes different chemicals in sex

[43:45] this has now been proven

[43:46] uh which is

[43:48] if i have sex with a stranger

[43:51] afterwards certain chemicals get

[43:52] produced estrogen levels go up and then

[43:55] my testosterone goes back down to

[43:56] baseline if i have sex with my wife who

[43:59] i'm monogamous with

[44:01] same thing happens estrogen goes up

[44:03] testosterone goes down to baseline but

[44:05] another hormone gets produced called

[44:07] prolactin prolactin is only for people

[44:10] in monogamous relationships your body

[44:12] knows it's evolution your body says

[44:14] if this woman loves me and i love her

[44:16] and

[44:18] then we want you to stay with her so you

[44:20] can create a family we don't want you

[44:22] attracted to other women it kills a

[44:24] man's sexual attraction to other people

[44:27] wow it's the monogamy hormone so then

[44:30] let me ask you this so i'm in colorado

[44:32] right now and denver has such a big

[44:34] population of those like swingers so are

[44:37] you saying people that are swingers even

[44:40] though maybe they're married with a

[44:41] relationship they're not producing that

[44:43] chemical no they're not making that

[44:45] chemical the reason the reason the

[44:47] reason that they're swingers is that

[44:49] they're not turned on to their partner

[44:51] anymore i mean it's like one of the

[44:53] movie stars said why would i go outside

[44:55] to have sex when i got the best why do i

[44:57] go to another restaurant when i got rib

[44:58] eye at home uh you know

[45:01] but people's sex life goes dry and part

[45:04] of why it went dry now this is something

[45:06] nobody wants to hear but it's another

[45:08] piece of science

[45:09] is that they had too much sex

[45:12] too much emphasis on pleasure and too

[45:14] much emphasis on how do we generate more

[45:15] crazy stuff in the bedroom uh the

[45:18] research shows again this is studies and

[45:21] this there's a yes but go online and

[45:23] you'll see like wait too much sex no not

[45:26] possible

[45:28] here's how it works now all right let's

[45:30] hear it just understand the biology

[45:32] nobody wants to hear this the good news

[45:35] is you know i'm i'm 70 and have the iron

[45:36] penis every day and have sex every day

[45:38] because i developed the skill to be

[45:41] multi-orgasmic without ejaculating

[45:44] and that's

[45:45] important for a man yeah absolutely but

[45:47] for a woman what about for a woman

[45:50] well there's two types of orgasm a woman

[45:52] can have one is climax and one is

[45:54] multi-orgasmic climax is a little bit

[45:57] more like a man's ejaculation she's

[46:00] working hard at it she's focusing on it

[46:02] and she's doing it you know she's trying

[46:03] to catch up with him or she's doing it

[46:05] for herself

[46:06] that's a climax that's what

[46:08] freud called an immature orgasm uh it's

[46:11] what most women who consider themselves

[46:13] orgasmic actually have it's you did it

[46:15] and you're done then there's another

[46:17] type of orgasm the multi-orgasmic woman

[46:20] she goes on and on and on and she

[46:21] doesn't do anything he does it all for

[46:24] her she's responding and there'll be

[46:26] some role play back and forth where

[46:27] she'll feel so much power

[46:30] uh her male side starts rising up and

[46:32] then she jumps on him and does that for

[46:34] a little while then he jumps on her

[46:35] again you go back and forth

[46:37] but there's no fear ever in her body

[46:40] that it's going to be over because he's

[46:41] able to last as long as she's had many

[46:44] many orgasms and then she kind of feels

[46:45] okay i'm done

[46:48] and it's as simple as that it's

[46:50] surrender she's on the pure female side

[46:53] of not doing anything except just

[46:55] responding and responding and responding

[46:57] no focusing on your [ __ ]

[46:59] okay

[47:01] which is which is amazing i've studied

[47:03] tantra with past partners and i can

[47:04] attest to how beautiful that is when

[47:07] you're purely in the feminine receiving

[47:09] mode of the multi-orgasmic going and

[47:11] going and going and unfortunately a

[47:13] woman who is so strong in her masculine

[47:15] she'll never experience that like you're

[47:17] saying just that clitoral clitoral

[47:19] orgasm and done yeah and and

[47:23] a lot of women well how do i experience

[47:24] that well one thing is some for some

[47:26] women you need like a a 45 minute

[47:29] massage from him before you can even

[47:31] relax enough to get into your body which

[47:33] by the way we're talking about

[47:35] shifting back to some of the basics of

[47:39] let me finish the thing on the science

[47:40] of ejaculation for men because you want

[47:43] your testosterone up there

[47:45] what they found is that when a man

[47:47] ejaculates his testosterone will drop

[47:49] back to his baseline now the baseline of

[47:52] men in the west today a variety of

[47:56] reasons plastics gmos all these things

[47:59] the cultural conditioning being on your

[48:00] female side lots of reasons but men's

[48:03] testosterone levels are dropping one

[48:06] percent every year so basically

[48:09] uh and the average even 20 years ago a

[48:12] 50 year old man had half the

[48:13] testosterone levels he had when he was

[48:15] young

[48:16] uh now it's much lower

[48:18] 20 the 20 year old has 20 percent lower

[48:21] testosterone than a male 20 years ago

[48:24] i would say from my experience in

[48:26] working with men and talking with them

[48:28] and going online and hearing their

[48:29] experiences is that

[48:32] the major cause of that is not just

[48:34] plastics and gmos that's also toxic i'm

[48:36] into getting rid of that but it's that

[48:39] they're doing they're masturbating

[48:40] they're masturbating twice a day three

[48:42] times a day and that produces add

[48:45] that produces high dopamine stimulation

[48:48] desensitizes dopamine receptor sites and

[48:51] now you're dependent upon high

[48:52] stimulation of fantasy in order to

[48:56] experience the surge of testosterone to

[48:58] allow you to sustain attraction to a

[49:00] woman who's real woman because see if i

[49:02] have sex with my wife or someone i loved

[49:05] when i'm younger there's a lot of

[49:06] estrogen being produced no estrogen gets

[49:08] produced when you're masturbating or

[49:11] you're

[49:13] you're doing some

[49:15] porn thing with some woman you don't

[49:17] even know

[49:18] it i i sound so diminishing when i say

[49:21] it because for me it would be so

[49:23] diminishing uh to even think of

[49:25] masturbating or to

[49:28] do porn to me it just all looks fake and

[49:30] i laugh there's no interest in it at all

[49:31] it's not a judgmental thing it's just

[49:34] that it's soul depleting but when people

[49:36] don't have a lot of soul they don't even

[49:38] notice or miss what they're missing

[49:40] uh you know i'm a yogi you know i

[49:43] started meditation as a child i did yoga

[49:45] at three years old my mother had

[49:47] esoteric bookstore i became a monk for

[49:49] nine years i had this enlightenment

[49:50] experience

[49:52] but if i ejaculate half of it goes away

[49:54] for a week okay

[49:56] wow i walk around like a uh unlimited

[49:59] consciousness

[50:00] it's a wonderful experience but

[50:03] then if i was to ejaculate it's such a

[50:05] downer for me and then there's a lot of

[50:08] uh emotional turbulence i see in my

[50:10] relationship whenever i would ejaculate

[50:13] more so than everything's just loving

[50:14] and connected because you have to

[50:16] realize every time a man ejaculates he

[50:18] abandons his partner

[50:21] how so okay so what happens is you make

[50:24] love with a man

[50:25] you're opening up more and more and

[50:27] again you do it like 10 times more than

[50:29] a guy does you bond more than a man

[50:32] so

[50:33] you're opening up you're opening up the

[50:35] type of climaxes estrogen is high his

[50:37] love is the highest your love is the

[50:39] highest if you're having multi orgasmic

[50:41] and then what happens after that if he

[50:43] ejaculates is then his his estrogen went

[50:46] so high as testosterone goes down to

[50:49] baseline it was way high

[50:51] it was at least 50 times 50 higher maybe

[50:54] 100 percent higher and now it just

[50:56] suddenly goes back

[50:57] he pulls away

[50:59] because detachment from

[51:01] personal detachment

[51:03] raises raises testosterone you know you

[51:06] have this hot weekend at your tantra

[51:08] class you know you're doing four or five

[51:10] times and great sex and everything then

[51:12] the guy ignores you okay

[51:14] it's like he's off at his work and he's

[51:16] doing his thing and you're kind of like

[51:18] we got to such a high level what just

[51:19] happened

[51:21] where did he go

[51:23] what did i do wrong the typical email

[51:25] response it's again why did i do wrong

[51:27] you did nothing wrong except you had too

[51:28] much sex it was too good

[51:31] you know

[51:33] you know people win the lottery too good

[51:35] and then they go crazy you know and a

[51:37] few years later they're broke again uh

[51:39] too good is not a good thing it's good

[51:41] is it great is a good thing

[51:44] so anyone when it comes to sex this was

[51:47] the research that

[51:48] a guy has sex on saturday night his

[51:51] testosterone goes down to baseline he

[51:53] has sex on tuesday night his

[51:55] testosterone starts at baseline goes up

[51:58] a little bit goes back down to baseline

[52:01] the guy who doesn't have sex on tuesday

[52:04] he goes for six days without ejaculating

[52:07] on the seventh day

[52:08] he wakes up with fifty percent more

[52:10] testosterone

[52:12] that's the same level of testosterone as

[52:14] when you fell in love you don't need the

[52:16] newness to stimulate that much

[52:18] testosterone you need to not overdo sex

[52:22] and if you're in a monogamous

[52:24] relationship because you have prolactin

[52:26] it's quite easy

[52:28] to it

[52:29] your refractory period is much longer

[52:32] you know men have this refractory period

[52:34] some men are like

[52:36] machines when it comes to sex most women

[52:38] don't like that there's no emotional

[52:40] contact they look rather bored while

[52:42] they're doing it the machine gun sex

[52:44] guys you see them in the porn things

[52:45] there's no love there there's no emotion

[52:48] so he can just keep going in his

[52:49] testosterone world he can ejaculate he

[52:52] can get up and do it again because he

[52:53] made no prolactin

[52:55] prolactin causes you to lose interest in

[52:57] sex

[52:59] unless you're taking drugs

[53:01] let's say you what it does is it um

[53:04] prolactin lowers the need to have sex

[53:07] again for a while

[53:09] and that would be great if you're having

[53:11] children in a family and all of that and

[53:13] you're not interested in other women so

[53:15] if you go six days seven days just try

[53:18] it it's like fasting and by the way for

[53:20] men

[53:21] fasting is also a great testosterone

[53:23] producer

[53:24] i wouldn't say it's just sex it keeps my

[53:26] testosterone so high and healthy and

[53:28] vibrant and so forth

[53:31] and

[53:32] it's also i do fasting i do the

[53:34] intermediate fasting that's also

[53:36] testosterone builder for men so in any

[53:38] kind of discipline if it's not too much

[53:40] you got to find the right balance but

[53:42] what you can do is after three months of

[53:44] building up your prolactin in a

[53:46] monogamous relationship then you can

[53:48] pick up some of the books on how to

[53:50] practice orgasm without ejaculation

[53:53] and you you can do that you can't do

[53:56] that if you're addicted to ejaculation

[53:58] you've got to cure the addiction to

[54:00] ejaculation and it's that same addiction

[54:03] that causes men to get angry

[54:05] uh you know when men get angry what we

[54:07] have to know is

[54:09] very basics is

[54:12] anger and men anger and women are men is

[54:14] estrogen levels going higher okay so

[54:16] it's it's surging estrogen uh

[54:20] when you're angry and if you can be

[54:21] heard

[54:22] then the estrogen levels will go to even

[54:25] higher level and your stress level will

[54:27] go down okay which is beautiful for

[54:30] women that are too much and they're

[54:31] masculine like

[54:32] go talk to a girlfriend express your

[54:34] feelings be heard and your estrogen

[54:36] levels go up that's the most powerful

[54:39] technique so now we've gotten around to

[54:41] that one

[54:42] that is the most powerful technique of

[54:45] feeling safe first of all so you never

[54:47] would want to express negative emotion

[54:50] negative feelings criticism or complaint

[54:53] to your partner because they don't want

[54:54] to hear it

[54:56] why do you want to say something to

[54:58] someone that they don't want to hear you

[55:00] think well they need to change

[55:01] well they're not going to change from

[55:03] negativity they're going to change from

[55:05] another skill which is how to be loving

[55:07] and ask what you want in a non-demanding

[55:09] way with lots of treats

[55:12] give you an example of that so my

[55:14] my wife for years was so frustrated

[55:17] disappointed just disapproving it it

[55:20] just escalates because i left out i had

[55:23] a habit of leaving the light on in the

[55:25] living room when i walked through the

[55:26] house

[55:27] and she just couldn't understand how i

[55:29] could forget in the beginning it was no

[55:31] big deal she just turned out the light

[55:34] but then she'd tell me john you should

[55:36] turn out the light and when john doesn't

[55:37] do that it suddenly becomes a big deal

[55:40] why because turning out the light is not

[55:42] a big deal but because i continue doing

[55:45] it her mind interprets that to me well

[55:47] that he doesn't love me it's a little

[55:49] thing and if he doesn't do it then that

[55:51] must mean he doesn't love me

[55:53] as opposed to the way men operate if

[55:55] it's a big thing of course we'll do it

[55:57] if it's a little thing it doesn't pay

[55:59] much so why bother our brain just

[56:01] doesn't register it but in her brain

[56:03] it's the opposite if he doesn't do

[56:05] little stuff can i depend on him to do

[56:06] the big stuff yes you can and you have

[56:09] to look you have to penetrate through

[56:11] your strong reaction and realize you're

[56:13] overreacting

[56:14] and making it a big deal when it's not a

[56:16] big deal and if you can approach him

[56:18] from the point of view of it's not a big

[56:20] deal he might learn to turn out the

[56:22] light so this is how that looked in my

[56:24] life

[56:25] i this went on for years and finally one

[56:27] year

[56:28] one day i still remember it so clearly

[56:30] it was a different approach she poked

[56:31] her head into the

[56:34] kitchen while i was making a sandwich

[56:36] and she had a big smile on her face john

[56:38] like we just won a lottery

[56:42] she said john i've noticed you've been

[56:43] turning out

[56:44] the the light

[56:46] and i just want to remind you how much i

[56:48] love that

[56:49] and it's not a big deal but sometimes

[56:51] you still forget and then she left

[56:54] that just sat with me happened again and

[56:58] happened again and didn't need to happen

[57:00] ever again because

[57:02] now instead of having to remember that

[57:04] turn out the light because the [ __ ]

[57:06] shows up

[57:08] men when i don't want to think about

[57:09] negativity i don't want to do things for

[57:11] her because she's going to punish me

[57:13] that's just so dim

[57:14] de humanizing

[57:16] uh but now i go oh yeah this makes her

[57:18] really happy turn the switch on starting

[57:20] to switch on sorry but it you can't just

[57:22] say

[57:23] hey john uh it would make me happy if

[57:25] you do that and he goes fine fine fine

[57:27] no you gotta it's it's finesse of

[57:30] learning how to bring out the best in a

[57:31] man but long before i i think that would

[57:34] really work you have to use what we're

[57:36] just talking about is to become more

[57:38] feminine which increases your ability to

[57:40] be soft and sensitive and appreciative

[57:42] inside

[57:43] and trusting

[57:45] you know trust when you trust a man it's

[57:47] the ultimate testosterone producer

[57:50] the ultimate

[57:51] accepting his mistakes is another

[57:53] testosterone producer not making a big

[57:55] deal out of things and then the third

[57:57] one which is delighting in the things he

[57:59] does for you treats treats treats

[58:01] [Laughter]

[58:03] i mean this is real real stuff and women

[58:05] might go why does he get all that i said

[58:07] well that's when you that's when you're

[58:09] being loving that's natural that's your

[58:11] female side your female side when you

[58:15] feel safe comes forth to be trusting and

[58:17] accepting and appreciative and what do i

[58:20] get a woman says yes what you get you

[58:22] get 10 times more what you get is him

[58:25] doing things that says he cares

[58:28] caring expressions and but how's he

[58:31] going to do that he doesn't know what

[58:32] women really need

[58:33] so

[58:34] you have to communicate to him what you

[58:37] like what feels good to you and ask him

[58:39] to do it don't ask too much don't ask

[58:41] too little that's an art to it and i

[58:44] think start little you know sit and pat

[58:47] you know down

[58:48] simple things you change a little bit

[58:50] like a puppy first and then he'll get

[58:52] older yeah and he's going to pee and

[58:54] poop and you have to just be accepting

[58:56] of it you know my rug is ruined my table

[58:58] is chewed on but hey it's all out of

[58:59] luck the house is a mess he's shoving

[59:02] everywhere

[59:03] exactly but i love my puppy

[59:06] gradually puppy will learn i have a

[59:08] future to look forward to that's called

[59:09] trusting it will get better certainly it

[59:11] does

[59:12] it will with a man if he's approached

[59:14] like a puppy in that sense but when you

[59:16] are coming from that place

[59:19] of uh uh applying these things

[59:23] what you're giving him is the love he

[59:25] needs okay because

[59:27] but it's what you need to find is the

[59:29] part of you that's not making a big deal

[59:31] out of everything the part of you that's

[59:33] appreciative of your life the part of

[59:35] you that's not overwhelmed with things

[59:37] you have to do because if you don't do

[59:39] them the world's going to crash you have

[59:41] no trust you run out of fear all the

[59:43] time coming back to be more relaxed and

[59:47] it's automatic it's automatic if your

[59:50] estrogen levels go up it's then suddenly

[59:52] your brain puts on a

[59:54] you know your estrogen levels go into

[59:56] balance and suddenly you're wearing a

[59:58] different pair of glasses it just it's a

[1:00:00] it shifts

[1:00:01] you just see the world differently and

[1:00:03] in an instant it takes

[1:00:05] a lot of women have never had this

[1:00:07] experience of just being able to talk

[1:00:09] freely

[1:00:10] talking freely that's why we have this

[1:00:11] big business called therapy ninety

[1:00:14] percent of the people go to therapists

[1:00:15] are women and what therapists will do

[1:00:18] which not the best thing but they part

[1:00:21] of the best thing there's two parts of

[1:00:22] therapy they only do the first part

[1:00:24] which is they just it's a

[1:00:26] a bit of a just listening to what she's

[1:00:28] saying and asking good questions to have

[1:00:30] her look at herself more and what she's

[1:00:31] feeling inside just that

[1:00:34] uh raises estrogen and her problems melt

[1:00:36] away for a week and then they come back

[1:00:39] well because she's seen and heard and

[1:00:40] that's why there's such a raise i

[1:00:42] believe in the coaching industry as well

[1:00:44] it's also giving people the space to

[1:00:46] just be seen and heard

[1:00:48] absolutely giving women the space to be

[1:00:51] seen and heard ten times more than you

[1:00:53] would give a man

[1:00:55] the flip side of this is after she feels

[1:00:57] seen and heard

[1:00:59] then to give her strategies on how she

[1:01:01] can make her life differently rather

[1:01:03] than leave her feeling victimized with

[1:01:05] no way to make her life better and i

[1:01:06] have to say coaching does that coaching

[1:01:10] sometimes ignores her need to talk about

[1:01:12] everything and just well as a woman as a

[1:01:15] love coach i can tell you the first half

[1:01:17] of the session is always the woman just

[1:01:18] like

[1:01:19] and then the second half is like all

[1:01:20] right what are we gonna do now yeah

[1:01:22] exactly that's the best thing and this

[1:01:25] is where

[1:01:26] this is where counseling can just

[1:01:27] destroy relationships it's just a pity

[1:01:29] party you know you just listen to her

[1:01:31] yeah it's too bad you're not too bad she

[1:01:32] feels good she's getting her little drug

[1:01:34] of high estrogen for a week

[1:01:36] but she didn't learn anything where she

[1:01:39] could integrate that into her male side

[1:01:41] and use strategies to make her life

[1:01:43] better and and i appreciate you so much

[1:01:45] because you read beyond mars and venus

[1:01:47] which is filled with these strategies

[1:01:49] one of the key

[1:01:50] key strategies is and we're talking for

[1:01:53] single women on a date make sure you

[1:01:56] talk

[1:01:57] five times more than him yeah you said

[1:01:59] that in the book which i thought was

[1:02:01] phenomenal because i think it's

[1:02:02] important to be a good listener and ask

[1:02:04] great questions but what you want him to

[1:02:07] do

[1:02:08] well true because he should be more

[1:02:09] interested in us than we are in him as

[1:02:12] you said before right yes yes that's the

[1:02:15] right man he's trying to get into you

[1:02:17] he's knocking on the door how do i get

[1:02:19] in right now how do i win her over he's

[1:02:21] got to win her over that's his thing and

[1:02:23] what i teach men listen if you want to

[1:02:26] get laid

[1:02:27] just ask a lot of questions ask more

[1:02:29] questions ask more questions and it's

[1:02:31] kind of cheating because i tell them and

[1:02:33] don't get laid on the first date this is

[1:02:35] just something in our society that

[1:02:37] happened in the 60s let's all just jump

[1:02:39] into bed and have sex it just

[1:02:41] you don't get a chance to bond she needs

[1:02:43] to be seen and heard verbally

[1:02:46] then she needs to have more of an

[1:02:47] emotional response to him doing things

[1:02:50] for her and when he's doing things for

[1:02:53] her she's

[1:02:54] her happiness is a huge gift to him so

[1:02:57] that was one of our takeaways from today

[1:02:59] is to realize well why should i get so

[1:03:02] much because you're the woman because

[1:03:04] when he can succeed in doing things for

[1:03:06] you you're giving him the gift you're

[1:03:08] giving him the gift of letting him

[1:03:10] demonstrate caring the first need that

[1:03:13] women have for estrogen

[1:03:15] understanding where he gets to know you

[1:03:18] better and responds to who you are what

[1:03:20] you like what you want he's curious and

[1:03:22] then then comes down to the sex part of

[1:03:25] the whole thing where that's when you

[1:03:27] start to feel healthy

[1:03:29] healthy

[1:03:30] sexual chemistry

[1:03:32] uh now let's say you feel unhealthy

[1:03:34] sexual chemistry which he's a stranger

[1:03:36] and you totally get turned on to him and

[1:03:38] i i can understand that you feel you

[1:03:39] already have a relationship like

[1:03:41] celebrities

[1:03:42] women can just instantly get turned on

[1:03:44] so celebrity but in many cases she

[1:03:46] imagines she has a relationship with him

[1:03:49] but it's all imagination that's what you

[1:03:51] want to get a real life relationship

[1:03:53] starts with real life reality talking to

[1:03:56] somebody being their energy field

[1:03:58] sharing with them and that's again once

[1:04:00] you you know online dating

[1:04:02] just because you have great conversation

[1:04:04] and online doesn't mean you're going to

[1:04:06] have the same chemistry when you meet

[1:04:08] physically and so

[1:04:10] well i've learned that too i did online

[1:04:12] dating once and i've shared this story

[1:04:14] on my podcast i met an amazing man we

[1:04:17] were talking on zoom we saw each other

[1:04:20] we talked we hit it off amazingly he

[1:04:23] flew down to ecuador to meet me i was

[1:04:24] living in ecuador at the time and in

[1:04:26] person

[1:04:27] nothing nothing there was no spark no

[1:04:29] chemistry and but over the phone over

[1:04:32] camera i mean it was all there

[1:04:35] exactly exactly but there's that's the

[1:04:36] energy fields there's biological energy

[1:04:39] fields why we're drawn to people for

[1:04:42] certain ways now i will say now these

[1:04:45] i know we're ending our time here soon

[1:04:47] but when

[1:04:49] when a woman is attracted to a man on

[1:04:51] his female side listen to him a little

[1:04:53] bit in the beginning as he whines and

[1:04:55] complains and realize that's your female

[1:04:58] side you're suppressing and that's why

[1:05:00] you were drawn to him

[1:05:01] oh beautiful

[1:05:03] help you learn about this repressed side

[1:05:07] of you

[1:05:07] because you've attracted why were you

[1:05:09] attracted to him you're attracted to him

[1:05:11] because he's expressing a part of you

[1:05:13] that you don't want to look at

[1:05:15] and

[1:05:16] and if you share it's kind of like

[1:05:19] you find somebody who's a mirror of

[1:05:21] something you're not looking at inside

[1:05:23] yourself and when you feel repulsed and

[1:05:25] rejected by and resistant to that and

[1:05:27] repulsed by that that's why you're not

[1:05:30] on your female side because you're

[1:05:31] afraid a man will be repulsed by that

[1:05:34] and actually men like women that are

[1:05:36] shorter than them women like men that

[1:05:38] are taller than them these are some

[1:05:40] basic things how we fit together and

[1:05:44] he he wants you to have

[1:05:46] his higher intelligence will feel good

[1:05:48] if you have more problems than him

[1:05:50] because then he can solve those problems

[1:05:53] you're being i can do everything woman

[1:05:56] great you know you want to work for my

[1:05:57] company i'll pay you

[1:05:59] but i don't want to have sex with you

[1:06:00] see that there's that dynamic of man

[1:06:02] wants to feel i have something of great

[1:06:05] significance that you need from me and

[1:06:08] one would be an iron penis that that

[1:06:10] comes later uh

[1:06:12] what would be is a man who treats you

[1:06:13] with respect a man that's that's

[1:06:16] admirable to you that you want to get to

[1:06:17] know him but he wants to get you to know

[1:06:19] you more and somebody you can open up

[1:06:21] with you don't have to people please

[1:06:23] with you find yourself a lot of us find

[1:06:25] ourselves trying to say the right thing

[1:06:27] to impress a man if you're a woman don't

[1:06:30] let the men impress you your job is to

[1:06:33] sit back and enjoy enjoy not be tough

[1:06:35] you know and and you won't be tough if

[1:06:37] you're not looking for your soul mate

[1:06:39] never go on a date looking for your

[1:06:41] soulmate go on a date to have a good

[1:06:43] time to have a man take care of you and

[1:06:45] do nice things for you and it and if you

[1:06:47] didn't enjoy yourself then don't go back

[1:06:49] if you did enjoy yourself again it's go

[1:06:52] on a series of positive dating

[1:06:54] experiences without any commitment

[1:06:57] without any sex without any of that

[1:06:59] stuff and you'll start to develop more

[1:07:02] your female side of learning your

[1:07:03] resistance to receiving you know if you

[1:07:06] feel like we should split bills no and

[1:07:09] how do you even say

[1:07:10] because today you know

[1:07:12] he's going to go what you don't want to

[1:07:14] split the bill or something you base i'm

[1:07:16] an old-fashioned girl i like to have a

[1:07:18] man take care of me just own it and own

[1:07:21] it own it

[1:07:22] and without having to go into well men

[1:07:24] are from mars women are from venus and

[1:07:26] women actually need more estrogen but

[1:07:28] you need testosterone if you'll pay for

[1:07:29] my meal your testosterone will go up

[1:07:31] because i'm gonna smile and say that was

[1:07:33] a great meal

[1:07:34] okay well i'm glad you said that though

[1:07:36] because i remember one instance i was

[1:07:38] dating a guy and he was paying for

[1:07:40] everything i'm old-fashioned and then

[1:07:41] one time we were out to lunch with some

[1:07:43] of my girlfriends and he asked me to

[1:07:45] split the bill and i was in such shock

[1:07:47] this had never happened i just said okay

[1:07:50] but i never dated that guy again i can

[1:07:53] tell you that i was like what just

[1:07:55] happened are you kidding me that's right

[1:07:58] you have self-esteem and women can learn

[1:08:00] a lot from you and though i i like what

[1:08:02] one woman said is that when when he

[1:08:04] doesn't pay the bill or want to pay the

[1:08:06] bill next

[1:08:08] yep thank you next you just showed

[1:08:09] yourself

[1:08:11] plenty of people out there for me

[1:08:13] well john this has been absolutely

[1:08:15] amazing and once again i can 100 attest

[1:08:18] to

[1:08:19] all the

[1:08:20] powerful concepts that you've really

[1:08:22] taught in your book beyond mars and

[1:08:23] venus that i'm now teaching in my

[1:08:25] programs my flirt course is all about

[1:08:27] masculine feminine energy and i loved

[1:08:29] being able to add in more about

[1:08:31] estrogen and testosterone i know your

[1:08:33] daughter lauren teaches a lot about that

[1:08:35] as well in her courses so just a little

[1:08:37] plug for her work and just wanted to

[1:08:40] mention um your website mars venus the

[1:08:43] course that you're offering for free how

[1:08:45] to get what is it how to get everything

[1:08:47] you want in relationships for women men

[1:08:48] couple singles and of course the 20

[1:08:50] other books that you have that have been

[1:08:52] changing lives for the last what 40

[1:08:55] years

[1:08:56] 50 million i i i want people to know we

[1:09:00] we just touched the tip of the iceberg

[1:09:02] there's so much more that goes on in

[1:09:04] relationships but this was so much

[1:09:06] people think how could there be more

[1:09:08] it's a big package every stage you go

[1:09:10] through and i want to mention one other

[1:09:12] book which is uh really good for the

[1:09:14] listeners is that mars venus on a date

[1:09:17] yeah i'm actually i'm going to read that

[1:09:18] one next i haven't read that one it

[1:09:20] doesn't have the thing on hormones but

[1:09:22] the hormones will back up everything i

[1:09:24] suggest there i just didn't understand

[1:09:26] the biology at that time and then

[1:09:27] there's another one for people you know

[1:09:29] if they're in their 40s they've been

[1:09:31] married before uh there's a painful

[1:09:33] breakup and you know even if you wanted

[1:09:35] a divorce it's still a painful breakup

[1:09:37] there was a bonding it was a dream and

[1:09:39] then you rip apart

[1:09:41] and so i wrote a book called mars venus

[1:09:42] starting over which is healing exercises

[1:09:45] to heal your broken heart and i'm going

[1:09:48] to ask you to trust again because so

[1:09:50] many women they'll take nine years

[1:09:51] before they get involved after a divorce

[1:09:54] for men it's three years because men

[1:09:56] know they need sex in order to feel love

[1:09:59] primarily women don't need sex to feel

[1:10:03] love they need sex to feel higher levels

[1:10:04] of love ecstasies multi orgasming but

[1:10:08] they can start loving their children

[1:10:10] more loving the world more loving their

[1:10:12] garden more you can feel access feeling

[1:10:14] so much easier than men can but it's the

[1:10:17] journey of sexuality and just a little

[1:10:20] tip here for men if they were listening

[1:10:21] is when you're having sex

[1:10:24] never let the pleasure overwhelm the

[1:10:26] increasing feelings of love the only

[1:10:28] reason you have sex as a as a more

[1:10:30] enlightened person is to access more

[1:10:32] love and to then feel that love and then

[1:10:35] express that love and the same way you

[1:10:37] would have said in the very beginning

[1:10:39] when you said to her oh my god you're so

[1:10:41] beautiful you're the one for me i don't

[1:10:43] want to be with anybody else i love you

[1:10:45] so much i'm just so lucky to be with you

[1:10:47] how did i find you you know these are

[1:10:49] the phrases you say again and again for

[1:10:52] 30 years when you have that feeling of

[1:10:54] increasing love

[1:10:56] and men don't realize women don't get

[1:10:58] tired of hearing that stuff

[1:11:00] nope we sure don't we could hear it

[1:11:02] every single day and you even gave a

[1:11:04] funny little example in your book of the

[1:11:07] man and woman where she's like he

[1:11:09] doesn't love me and he's like i told you

[1:11:10] i loved you 30 years ago

[1:11:13] i still need to hear it i want to hear

[1:11:15] it i want to hear it okay i gotta run so

[1:11:18] nice to be with you i'm a pleasure thank

[1:11:20] you john have an absolutely beautiful

[1:11:21] evening it was wonderful to have you

[1:11:24] here and make sure to watch the other

[1:11:26] videos that are released hop into the

[1:11:27] private facebook group

[1:11:29] and remember there are unlimited

[1:11:31] possibilities for lasting love and you

[1:11:33] are meant to manifest the love of your

[1:11:35] life and the life of your dreams

[1:11:38] thanks john thank you

According to Gray, polarity attracts. A woman operating primarily from her masculine energy (high testosterone, low estrogen) will attract a man whose masculine energy is similarly diminished. She's become the pursuer and provider energetically, so she finds a partner whose energy mirrors that imbalance. The solution is for women to access and balance both their masculine and feminine sides.
Gray argues that passion can be sustained indefinitely if a couple understands the hormonal feedback loop. Passion naturally rises and falls in a weekly rhythm, but through presence, attention, and regular lovemaking, couples can continuously renew it. What changes isn't passion's availability but how it operates—shifting from novelty-dependent to polarity-dependent.
Healthy men need to feel that their presence and effort are making a positive difference in their partner's life. Gray explains that a man's sense of love is rooted in responsibility and presence. When he sees his partner becoming softer, happier, or more relaxed in response to his attention, his testosterone rises and his sense of purpose is activated.
High testosterone in a man raises a woman's estrogen, and high estrogen in a woman raises a man's testosterone. This creates a reciprocal feedback loop. A man's genuine desire for his partner (not fantasy) causes his testosterone to rise and produces pheromones that elevate her estrogen. When she feels safe and monogamous with him, her estrogen rises further, which raises his testosterone—creating sustained passion.
Women who have lived primarily from their masculine side for decades have trained their bodies to produce more testosterone and less estrogen. Estrogen is what generates the feeling of love and emotional openness. To access deeper feelings of love, women need to consciously cultivate their feminine side—not by abandoning independence, but by balancing it with receptivity and vulnerability.
Yes, Gray argues it is—but it requires understanding what replaces novelty. Early passion is artificially stimulated by newness and dopamine. Once familiarity sets in, passion must be sustained through polarity: the dynamic tension between masculine and feminine energy. When both partners can access both polarities, the conditions exist for passion to evolve and renew continuously.
