The story of BrightStar is not just about technology or ticketing—it is about devotion. It is about what happens when love for the Divine takes form through service.
BrightStar was born from Bhakti, the path of the heart, and shaped by decades immersed in sacred chant and community gatherings that transcend religion, culture, and geography. What began as a quiet offering to support artists and spiritual teachers has become a global movement—one that continues to expand in harmony with a rising wave of Oneness consciousness across the planet.
A Platform Rooted in Devotion
Long before BrightStar became a household name in the conscious event space, it existed as a humble idea in the mind of its founder, Akal Sahai Khalsa, a lifelong student of sacred music. Raised in an ashram and steeped in kirtan from birth, Akal's life has been woven through the tapestry of Bhakti.
His father, GuruGanesha Singh, co-founder of BrightStar, is a pioneering Bhakti musician and the founder of Spirit Voyage Records—the label that helped bring Snatam Kaur's transcendent voice to the world. Over the years, BrightStar's founders and team have also worked closely with many of the most beloved names in sacred chant—Krishna Das, Deva Premal & Miten, and Jai Uttal—artists whose music continues to awaken devotion in hearts across the globe. Together, they embody the living pulse of what BrightStar represents.
Akal spent ten years serving as Snatam Kaur's tour manager, traveling the world, helping create sacred spaces where thousands gathered in song and prayer. Through that experience, he witnessed the profound unity that devotional music inspires—people of all backgrounds, religions, and languages singing as one.
It was from that experience that the inspiration for BrightStar took shape: to build a bridge between artists, organizers, and the audiences who long for connection, transformation, and love.
Bhakti in the Digital Age
Bhakti has always been about the heart's direct connection to the Divine—but in our modern world, it now requires a new language. That language is technology.
BrightStar was created not as a business venture, but as a seva—an act of service. The platform began with a simple promise: to make it easier for people to find and share the experiences that awaken the heart. In doing so, BrightStar became the world's first spiritual event marketplace dedicated to the global conscious community.
What differentiates BrightStar from conventional ticketing platforms is its soul. Every detail—its intuitive design, accessible pricing, and human support—reflects a deeper ethos: service before profit. While others see ticketing as a transaction, BrightStar sees it as transmission—a flow of energy connecting artist, organizer, and attendee in a field of shared intention.
This spirit of seva lives most purely in the BrightStar Seva Plan, a Free Forever tier that embodies ticketing as a sacred offering. It covers core essentials—ticket sales, Stripe integration, and basic reporting—so that even the smallest community gatherings can thrive without financial barriers. It is BrightStar's way of keeping the gate open for all.
The Bridge Between Bhakti and Oneness
If Bhakti is the heart, Oneness is the infinite space that heart beats within.
The Oneness movement—rooted in India and known for the practice of Deeksha (Oneness Blessing)—has been one of the most profound catalysts for global awakening over the past two decades. Millions have experienced its silent transfer of grace: an energetic awakening that dissolves the sense of separation.
While BrightStar has long been connected with Oneness events and teachers, its alignment is not merely historical—it is philosophical and spiritual. The principle of Oneness is not a brand or an organization; it is the very fabric of existence.
BrightStar was built in resonance with that truth. Every function, every relationship, every act of service on the platform points toward the same realization: there is no separation. Whether it is a kirtan concert, a meditation retreat, or a festival celebrating yoga and consciousness, each event is part of the same unfolding tapestry of human evolution.
A Global Mandala of Conscious Connection
Over the years, BrightStar has facilitated more than a hundred million dollars in ticket sales for conscious events worldwide, touching the lives of seekers, musicians, and teachers across continents. But behind every number is something far greater—the sound of a mantra, the rhythm of a heartbeat, the silence that follows collective chant.
The Bhakti artists who helped shape this journey—Snatam Kaur, Krishna Das, Deva Premal & Miten, and Jai Uttal—each carry a unique vibration. Together they form a living lineage of devotion that continues to ripple through BrightStar's DNA.
Their music is more than melody—it's medicine. It dissolves barriers between "performer" and "listener," between "stage" and "audience." In those shared moments of song, the distinction between self and other fades. That same dissolution is what BrightStar seeks to enable through technology—a seamless space where connection is effortless, and the sacred becomes accessible.
Technology in Service of the Sacred
In an era dominated by algorithms and automation, BrightStar's role is both radical and simple: to use advanced technology in the service of love.
Behind the scenes, the platform integrates intuitive tools for event organizers—streamlined ticketing, real-time analytics, and attendee management. But beyond function lies intention. Each feature has been designed to remove friction, so energy can flow freely where it belongs: between hearts.
BrightStar continues to evolve, now incorporating AI-driven automation to help event organizers amplify their reach, while still preserving the integrity of their message. The vision is not just to fill seats, but to fill hearts.
This is how Bhakti meets modernity—not by resisting technology, but by sanctifying it.
A Call to the Global Bhakti and Oneness Family
BrightStar's mission remains clear: to empower those who serve the awakening of humanity.
The global Bhakti community—musicians, teachers, and seekers who live through devotion—has always been at the platform's core. The Oneness movement, with its focus on unity consciousness, forms the wider horizon of that same journey.
As the world becomes increasingly fragmented, these traditions remind us of what is eternal: love, service, and unity.
BrightStar stands as a home for both. Whether you are a kirtan artist sharing your heart through mantra, an organizer hosting a meditation retreat, or a devotee longing to gather in community—BrightStar exists to support your offering.
And beyond every technical feature or marketing campaign lies the true pulse of the platform:
One Planet. One Humanity. One Light.
The Future Is Seva
As BrightStar expands, its foundation remains the same—service through technology.
The Seva Plan, with its free-forever model, embodies that commitment. It allows organizers to share their light without financial strain, empowering communities at every scale. From living-room kirtans to large-scale Bhakti festivals, the same sacred intention carries through: to bring people together in remembrance of who we truly are.
BrightStar is not simply a platform for selling tickets—it's a vessel for awakening, built in reverence for the Divine that lives in all things.
Born from Bhakti.
Serving Oneness.
Guided by Love.
