SRV Associations

SRV Associations is a spiritual community whose members are dedicated to living a divine life as taught and exemplified by Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi (known as the Holy Mother) and Swami Vivekananda, who brought the teachings of the Sanatana Dharma to the West in 1893. The community is based in Waimea, Hawaii, with centers in Hawaii and Portland, Oregon.

The independent SRV associations were founded in 1993 under the guidance of Babaji Bob Kindler, in cooperation with the national Sarada Ramakrishna Vivekananda Association of the West, founded by Lex Hixon. Both organizations share a mission of serving humanity through religious education, in the spirit of universality. The independent centers emphasize participation in the sangha, access to personal spiritual instruction from the guru, and the study and living of the Sanatana Dharma.

Members are aspirants devoted to Vedanta and Divine Mother Wisdom. Their ideals are the original and eternal perfection of the Soul and its oneness with God, the manifesting of divinity in daily life, selfless service of all beings as God, and reverence for the unity of all sacred traditions. Their purpose is to study (jnana yoga), worship (bhakti yoga), serve (karma yoga) and contemplate (raja yoga) Truth, so that spiritual realization may flourish.

Babaji Bob Kindler, SRV's spiritual director, leads the retreats and is known for his clear presentation of Vedanta, Yoga, Tantra and other philosophical systems. SRV also offers pilgrimages to India, publishes books and devotional music, and produces a yearly magazine, Nectar of Non-dual Truth. Its website carries teachings on Vedanta, Sankhya and Yoga, including video and audio discourses and explanatory charts.
