Maureen Pelton

Maureen Pelton, MSSW, LICSW, describes herself as an integrative psychotherapist, transformational coach and mystic, working at the threshold where science meets mysticism. Her work supports clients in becoming fully alive, embodied and sovereign. She co-leads the ShiftIt Institute with her partner, Charlie Hartwell.

Her site traces her mystical orientation to her early years as a devout Catholic. Before her senior year of college she faced a risky surgery, and the night before she entered a deep state of surrender that opened her to the truth of oneness. She describes the presence she met as the cosmic mother, or unconditional love, and vowed to make her life an offering to it. She then recovered. The experience sent her on a quest to understand what had happened. She moved from an intended course in law to an advanced degree in the social sciences, began meditating and practicing yoga, and studied dozens of modalities from spiritual, psychological and neurological traditions.

Maureen has pioneered courses, programs and retreats for universities, healthcare systems and corporations. Her practice weaves somatic awareness, Internal Family Systems and energy medicine, and she facilitates self-exploration by asking questions that help clients trust their own wisdom. Her clientele includes entrepreneurs, tech leaders and people on the path of awakening. She also shares guided meditations, teachings and practices on Insight Timer.

Outside of work she enjoys time with horses, nature, hiking, yoga, travel and hosting game nights.
