Kirsty Lyon is a meditation teacher, breathwork facilitator and holistic coach who works at the meeting point of mind and body. Her work grows from her own experience: anxiety, OCD, panic attacks and depression from childhood into her early thirties, followed by chronic illness that forced her to slow down. Mind-body and somatic practices gave her moments of safety and softness, and helped her meet her symptoms with more compassion. Learning about her own neurodivergence added another layer of understanding about the needs of her nervous system.
She is clear that she doesn't share her story as someone who has it all figured out. Her message is that you are not broken and do not need fixing. In her view, healing is not about becoming a perfect, more loveable version of yourself, but about bringing awareness, compassion and acceptance to all parts of you. She aims to help people bridge the gap between mind and body, restore a sense of safety within, and bring greater wholeness.
Kirsty holds a Trauma Informed Breathwork Facilitator certification (Pause Breathwork via the International Breathwork Foundation) and a Holistic Life Coach & Mind Body Practitioner certification (MBF Institute). She is an advanced-year Somatic Experiencing® practitioner trainee and holds an IFS-informed certification from the IFS Online Circle (IFS Institute, 2025). She continues to study through trainings, seminars and masterclasses. She also shares free breathwork meditations on Insight Timer.
Worth Knowing
Kirsty Lyon is a meditation teacher and breathwork facilitator who built her practice on the foundation of her own nervous system struggles — anxiety, OCD, panic attacks, and depression that persisted from childhood into her early thirties, alongside chronic illness that eventually forced a reckoning with pace and rest. Rather than positioning herself as someone who has transcended these states, she explicitly refuses the role of the arrived master; her teaching emerges from the unglamorous work of learning to meet her symptoms with compassion rather than rejection. Her most distinctive contribution is the clarity of her message: "You are not broken and do not need fixing." In a spiritual marketplace saturated with language about transformation, ascension, and becoming a better version of yourself, this stance reads almost as counterculture. People follow her work because she teaches nervous system regulation, somatic awareness, and mind-body healing not as abstract concepts but as concrete skills grounded in trauma-informed frameworks and her own navigation of what it means to live with neurodivergence.
