Kathy Bolte is an author, international yoga teacher, mantra meditation teacher, kīrtan musician and facilitator of wisdom circles. She teaches Yogāsana, the physical practice of yoga, and sees yoga as more than that: a way of life that shines the way toward balance, awareness and sacred union. Her stated passion is to help people open to their full, whole-hearted potential.
She is certified in Nada Yoga, the yoga of sound, having trained in Rishikesh, India. She has released three sacred music albums and one album of mantra meditation, available on most streaming platforms. On her YouTube channel she shares mantra meditation practices, devotional chanting and kīrtan, all offered free. She also sings with Kristina Cotran in the kīrtan band Akashavani.
Kathy leads annual spiritual and healing retreats to India, and co-leads retreats in Southern California. Her wisdom circles use story, contemplation and soulful conversation. She is also Dean of Camp DeBenneville Pines Annual Yoga Camp in the mountains of Southern California. She is a featured writer on Elephant Journal and the author of "Ringo's Rainbow Journey: A Memoir of Our Border Collie's Return to His Soul Family."
Kathy lives in Southern California with her husband, their dogs and an elder cat. They are avid mountain bikers and dog handlers, and she runs agility courses with her Border Collies.
Worth Knowing
Kathy Bolte is a Southern California-based yoga teacher, mantra meditation teacher, and kīrtan musician who approaches yoga as a complete philosophical and spiritual practice rather than purely a physical discipline. She's trained in Nada Yoga (the yoga of sound) in Rishikesh, India, and has released multiple albums of sacred music and mantra meditation available on major streaming platforms. Beyond the mat, she facilitates wisdom circles that blend storytelling and contemplative dialogue, leads annual spiritual retreats to India, co-leads healing retreats in Southern California, and serves as Dean of Camp DeBenneville Pines Annual Yoga Camp in the mountains of Southern California. She's also a featured writer on Elephant Journal, bringing a teacher's depth to issues of spiritual practice and embodied awareness. People drawn to her work tend to be seekers who want yoga integrated as a lifestyle philosophy—not just asana (postures), but mantra, sound, community, and wisdom study. Her practice is deeply rooted in traditional lineage while remaining accessible to modern students.
