Karin Mitchell, MA, ACC, NBC-HWC, is a life coach, counselor, meditation teacher and speaker. Her coaching rests on deep respect for the difficulties real change can bring, and on a belief in the fundamental goodness of all people. She sees coaching as a partnership that helps people find their own answers, get clear on what they want for their lives, and keep moving when they feel stuck.
Her path to coaching began with her own health. She has lived with scoliosis, arthritis, chronic insomnia and digestive problems, and over the years she came to see that she needed to be the advocate for her own health. She learned to listen to her intuition as well as to her doctors, and the sense of empowerment that followed led her to coaching. What she learned about herself she thinks of as tools for a more balanced, satisfying life.
Karin holds a B.S. in Psychology and Communications, an M.A. in Counseling Psychology, and a graduate certificate in Health and Wellness Coaching. She is a certified coach with the International Coaching Federation and a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach. She has additional training in Character Strengths, The Thinking Partnership, and Mindfulness Meditation. She says her regular meditation practice helps her live into her life's purpose and manage difficult changes with grace and ease.
She started her business, Chart Your Course, in 2013, offering individual life coaching, wellness seminars, retreats and meditation courses. She co-created a wellness workshop series, co-founded Soul Circle Retreats with a friend, taught mindfulness lessons to a fourth-grade class, and led a day-long workshop on mindfulness for teachers. Outside of work, she loves yoga, Pilates, paddle boarding, skiing, boating, and laughing with friends.
