Fern Olivia

Fern Olivia is the creator of Embodied Voice Breathwork®, a somatic breathwork method that brings together conscious connected breathing, breath retention, vocal expression, sound and embodied awareness. She created it through more than 15 years of study, teaching and facilitation across breathwork, yoga, sound and somatic practices, and the method bridges ancient breathing traditions with contemporary understanding of the nervous system.

In her sessions the voice becomes part of the practice. Humming, toning, sighing, mantra and intuitive sound are offered as invitations rather than performances, and no singing experience is needed. Music and live sound, which may include singing bowls, harmonium and percussion, help shape the pacing of a journey. Rather than following one rigid sequence, the method gives a facilitator a framework to listen, adapt and respond to the person or group in front of them.

Fern describes the work as a practice of coming home to yourself: your breath, your body, your voice and the freedom to be fully expressed. It is not tied to any religion or belief, and each person is free to interpret it in their own way. She teaches from Costa Rica's Caribbean coast, offering facilitator training and certification, online one-to-one mentorship and private retreats.
