Cindy Bartz is a traveling yogi and musician who offers classes, retreats and events in movement and music, with the aim of healing mind, body and spirit. She describes herself as a certified yoga instructor and accomplished musician. Her signature programs are Yoga for Musicians and Yoga for Reversing Osteoporosis Naturally.
Music came first. She started playing the clarinet in 1968 and earned a music degree at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1983. In 2020 she began learning Native American flute. In her early twenties she became interested in health and wellness, and in 1983 she managed a health club and became a personal trainer and fitness instructor.
Her yoga journey began in 2004, when she turned to it to heal her body after a biking accident. Since 2012 she has helped clients with limited mobility regain their health. After being diagnosed with osteopenia in 2010, she learned how to build strong bones naturally. In 2017 she created a program for reversing osteoporosis, which she says has helped hundreds of people.
She began offering restorative yoga events with live music in 2021. Gentle postures and passive stretches are held while mellow, inspiring music plays. She says her own breath practices increased her lung capacity and breath control, and that yoga has helped her posture, finger dexterity and focus under pressure as a performer.
Her teaching spans restorative, gentle and chair yoga, Hatha and flow, and Qigong and Tai Chi, with a focus on strength, balance and flexibility. She also teaches meditation and Ayurveda, and shares ways to support the immune system. Her stated intention is to support people on their journey to better health and well-being.
Worth Knowing
Cindy Bartz is a traveling yoga teacher, musician, and Qigong instructor who has developed a rare integrative practice that treats yoga and music not as separate disciplines but as complementary ways to move the body toward health. An E-RYT 500-hour yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance who has taught over 5,000 hours since 2009, she studied yoga under Master Yogi Amrit Desai beginning in 2004—a lineage grounded in deep breath work and somatic awareness. Her distinctive focus is on women over 50, particularly those navigating bone health, limited mobility, and the physical realities of aging with grace. People follow her work because she speaks to a specific population that traditional yoga marketing often overlooks, and because her background as a clarinetist and musician gives her uncommon insight into how tight shoulders, anxious breath, and tension in the hands actually feel to performers. Since 2017, her specialized program on reversing osteoporosis naturally has helped hundreds of people regain bone density without pharmaceutical intervention, and since 2021 she has pioneered events that blend gentle restorative poses with live instrumental music—creating what she describes as a deeply healing experience for her students.
