Breathe With Sandy is the breathwork facilitator, music producer and content creator Sandy, who teaches guided breathwork through online sessions, an app, YouTube videos and live events. The work is built around three things: breathwork, original music and daily practice. The website describes it as the fastest way to calm your nervous system, and counts more than 47 million views, a community of 470,000 people and over 350 sessions.
Sandy began traveling the world in 2018 and started learning about the breath from various teachers in various countries along the way. That learning led to teaching and to creating breathwork experiences both online and in person. Sandy describes the path on the YouTube channel as one from world traveler to breathwork facilitator and content creator, putting a 21st century spin on ancient breathing techniques. The website lists the training as certified, and names three areas of practice: Functional Breathing, the foundation of healthy breathing patterns for everyday life and performance; Transformational Breathwork, deep sessions that release stored stress and shift the emotional baseline; and Pranayama, ancient yogic techniques now made accessible for daily life.
The Breathe With Sandy app holds more than 350 breathwork sessions, with new ones added weekly. It carries no ads and no autoplay. Sandy's voice and music guide each session. Members can filter sessions by length, style and breath retention length, build custom playlists, download sessions to practice offline, and schedule a daily routine in a built-in breathwork calendar. It is available on web, iOS and Android. The YouTube channel shares weekly guided exercises, and longer breathwork videos and meditations are offered to the Patreon community. Sandy says the longer sessions can bring heart opening, manifestation, dissolving of the ego and self-limiting beliefs, releasing trauma and access to altered states of consciousness, and recommends headphones for the fullest experience.
Music is central to the practice. Sandy produces all of the music on the app and releases original music on Spotify, with rhythms crafted to pace the inhale and exhale. The YouTube description adds that the video editing and voice-over are also done by Sandy, with what Sandy calls a heart intention behind it all.
Sandy also leads live events that bring breathwork, original music and a shared nervous system reset to rooms around the world. The Rewire Tour, led with Alex King-Harris of Rara Avis, brought six nights of live breathwork and music to Munich, Berlin, Budapest, Amsterdam and London, including a night inside the Dominicuskerk in Amsterdam. Sandy has said more tours, in America and around the world, and retreats are coming.
The practice is open to a wide range of people. Sandy writes that athletes, therapists, parents, children, the sick and the healthy all use breathwork, and that it needs no medication and no equipment. People come to it to calm down quickly, steady the nervous system, release stress held in the body, sleep better, find more space before reacting and gain natural energy without coffee.
