[0:00] Every human who has ever walked the face
[0:02] of this earth from the time that they
[0:04] were aware of themselves and their
[0:06] relationship to the world has asked this
[0:08] single question consciously or
[0:10] subconsciously for 5,000 years. Those
[0:13] who have come before us, our indigenous
[0:14] ancestors, they answered the question in
[0:17] a way that made sense to them. It wasn't
[0:19] science, but it worked for them. It
[0:21] helped them to create better lives and
[0:23] stronger families and and stronger,
[0:25] healthier communities.
[0:27] When we talk about the way that we solve
[0:30] [music] our problems, when we talk about
[0:32] the relationships that we bring into our
[0:34] lives, the choices that we make in our
[0:36] [music] lives, as different as they are
[0:38] from one another, there's a common theme
[0:41] that runs through all of them. If I said
[0:42] to you, the way you [music] answer a
[0:44] single question holds that key. Would
[0:47] you want to know what that question is?
[0:49] If I said to you that the way you answer
[0:50] one question, it holds the [music] key
[0:53] to every belief that you have ever
[0:55] created, every belief that you've
[0:56] developed about yourself, your
[0:58] self-esteem, your relationships, other
[1:01] people, your finances, your health, the
[1:03] way that you live your life, the choices
[1:05] that you make. If I said the way that
[1:06] you answer a single question is the
[1:08] underlying thread for all of those
[1:10] things, as different as they are, from
[1:12] one another, [music] would you want to
[1:13] know what that question is? Every human
[1:16] who has ever walked the face of this
[1:17] earth from the time that they were aware
[1:19] of themselves and their relationship to
[1:21] the world has asked this single question
[1:24] consciously or subconsciously and the
[1:26] question is simply this who am I? Who am
[1:30] I? I'm going to make this personal. I'm
[1:32] going to invite you ask who are you? And
[1:35] there are a lot of us in the world. Who
[1:36] are we?
[1:38] Why this is important is what I want to
[1:41] talk to you about today. The way we have
[1:43] been conditioned to answer this question
[1:45] for ourselves often comes from the ideas
[1:49] and the beliefs and the thinking of
[1:51] other people. Think about this in your
[1:53] own life. If I ask you, "Who are you?"
[1:55] and you begin to answer me, "Where do
[1:57] your answers come from?" Typically, they
[1:59] come from [music] what we've heard from
[2:00] other people. They come from our
[2:02] textbooks in our classrooms and our
[2:04] [music] schools. They come from our
[2:05] families, from our neighbors, from our
[2:07] religious institutions. [music] They
[2:09] come from our spiritual traditions. And
[2:12] all of these beliefs [music] woven
[2:14] together form the perceptual lens
[2:17] through which you and I see ourselves,
[2:19] our relationship to our own bodies, our
[2:21] relationship [music] to other people,
[2:23] our relationship to the world around us,
[2:25] our relationship to the past, to the
[2:26] future, to the cosmos, to God. What
[2:29] could be more [music] important than
[2:30] answering this question in a way that is
[2:33] honest, truthful, and factual?
[2:42] New discoveries have now overturned
[2:46] 150 years of scientific thinking. When
[2:49] it comes to this simple question, for
[2:52] 150 years, we have been steeped in a
[2:55] story about us and our relationship to
[2:57] the world. The story has served us. It's
[3:00] worked well enough to get us where we
[3:01] are today. But now that we're living our
[3:03] time of extremes, our story must change
[3:07] to reflect the new discoveries, the
[3:10] honesty and the truthfulness of those
[3:12] new discoveries so that we can meet this
[3:15] time of extremes in a way that is
[3:17] effective, that is sustainable, that
[3:20] allows us to thrive in the new world
[3:22] that's emerging. For over 30 years, I
[3:25] have had the opportunity to search some
[3:28] of the most isolated, pristine, remote,
[3:30] magnificent, and beautiful places
[3:32] remaining on the earth today to find the
[3:35] secrets that are hidden in the
[3:36] monasteries and the nuties and the
[3:38] texts. the wisdom that our ancestors had
[3:41] in their time that we're only beginning
[3:43] to understand in ours. Through my
[3:46] discoveries, I now have 11 core books
[3:49] that address the principles, the wisdom
[3:53] of our ancestors through science and
[3:55] spirituality. Five of those have become
[3:56] New York Times best-selling books.
[3:58] They're now published in 38 languages
[4:01] and they are merged with corporate
[4:04] careers. Uh I was a geologist during the
[4:06] first energy crisis of the 1970s. Uh I
[4:10] worked in the defense industry as a
[4:11] senior liaison for the United States
[4:14] Space Command during the 1980s in the
[4:17] cold war crisis. And in 1991 I became
[4:20] the first technical operations manager
[4:22] for Cisco system. And the reason I'm
[4:24] sharing this with you is because each of
[4:26] these careers has been during a time of
[4:29] crisis. And my job has been to find the
[4:31] answers during the time of crisis that
[4:34] helps us to transcend and not just
[4:37] survive but to thrive in the time of
[4:38] crisis. Well, I'm no longer working in
[4:40] those corporations today. I'm an
[4:43] independent author and I'm sharing with
[4:45] you the discoveries that I have made
[4:47] over those last 30 years because we are
[4:48] living a time of crisis. A time when
[4:52] cycles are converging to create the
[4:54] extremes in our lives, the cycles of
[4:56] climate, economy, conflict and war. So
[4:59] as we explore these principles of our
[5:03] most cherished and ancient and sacred
[5:06] traditions and we marry them with the
[5:08] best science of our day, what we're
[5:10] doing is we are giving ourselves an
[5:12] evolutionary edge that our ancestors
[5:14] never had. The best of the science and
[5:17] the best of 5,000 years of human
[5:19] experience and wisdom all merged into a
[5:22] single wisdom that's more than the
[5:24] science can be by itself. It's more than
[5:26] the spiritual principles can be by
[5:28] themselves. And in doing so, we awaken
[5:32] within us the deepest truths of our
[5:34] existence. What I've found in those
[5:37] monasteries and nunneries and with the
[5:39] monks and the nuns and the abbotts and
[5:41] the shaman and the people that I've
[5:42] spent time with, because it all comes
[5:44] back to you and me. It's about us. Who
[5:47] are we in this world? What is our
[5:49] relationship to our bodies? Our true
[5:52] relationship. Are we empowered to
[5:55] participate, not control, manipulate,
[5:57] but participate in the healing of our
[5:59] bodies? Are we empowered to influence
[6:02] the circumstances of our lives, or are
[6:04] we simply victims of a world that we
[6:06] have no control over? These are the
[6:08] kinds of questions that our ancestors
[6:11] have sought the answers for for 5,000
[6:13] years. And while they weren't
[6:14] scientists, they developed
[6:16] understandings, spiritual traditions
[6:19] that answered for them in their time the
[6:22] questions in a way that worked for them
[6:24] in their lives so they could become
[6:26] better people and have stronger families
[6:28] and stronger communities. You and I live
[6:30] in the world of science. Science isn't
[6:33] 5,000 years old. It's a relatively new
[6:34] way of looking at the world. It's only
[6:36] about 300 years old. For 300 years,
[6:39] science has tried to answer this
[6:41] question. And who are we? Science has
[6:44] told us a story. That story is at the
[6:46] core of the way that you and I live our
[6:48] lives, the way we think, the way we
[6:50] solve our problems, the kinds of
[6:52] relationships that we find ourselves
[6:54] immersed in, and our most intimate
[6:57] experiences, as well as through work and
[6:59] school and friendships, healing and
[7:01] health. New discoveries in the late 20th
[7:04] and now the early 21st century have now
[7:06] overturned 150 years of scientific
[7:09] thinking. Writing a new story about you
[7:11] and me. And that story is what the core
[7:15] of this series is all about. Let me just
[7:18] give you an example of of why this is
[7:20] important and and how it's played a
[7:22] powerful role in my life. I had a
[7:24] supervisor that told me he said, "Greg,
[7:26] you cannot serve two masters at the same
[7:29] time. You cannot serve the master of
[7:31] science and the master of spirituality.
[7:33] You must choose. This was a difficult
[7:35] choice for me to make because I'd worked
[7:38] very hard uh to get where I was to get
[7:40] my degree to get into the corporations
[7:42] to have the security that I found myself
[7:45] in. And I was being asked to make a
[7:47] choice to follow my heart or to honor
[7:50] that security. So I took a little bit of
[7:52] time off. My journey took me to a
[7:58] beautiful mountaintop, Mount Si, on the
[8:01] desert peninsula of Egypt. And at the
[8:03] top of Mount Si, just as the sun was
[8:07] setting over the horizon, something
[8:09] happened. This feeling welled up inside
[8:12] of me and this openness between my heart
[8:15] and my mind. And all of a sudden, I knew
[8:18] that in that opening, I had the
[8:20] opportunity to receive to receive the
[8:24] answer to any question I could possibly
[8:26] ask. I closed my eyes and I said, 'If I
[8:29] left this world in this moment
[8:32] and I could never come back to the place
[8:36] and the people and the experiences that
[8:38] I've known through my lifetime. If I
[8:41] left this world and look back on
[8:43] everything that I had ever done and I
[8:46] could never come back, would I feel
[8:48] complete with my life? Would I feel
[8:51] complete? And before I even finished the
[8:54] question, my mind, the feeling in my
[8:56] body and from my heart, this answer was
[8:58] was welling up and it was no. No, was
[9:01] screaming no inside my body. I wouldn't
[9:03] feel complete.
[9:05] And my next question then was what would
[9:07] it take for me to say yes? What would it
[9:10] take for me to say yes, I feel complete
[9:13] with what I have done in my life? Now
[9:16] the reason I'm asking this question is
[9:18] because I was being given a choice about
[9:21] my career. I had to either honor the
[9:24] science in its purity or follow my heart
[9:27] and explore the spiritual traditions.
[9:30] The answer when I said what would it
[9:31] take to say yes that was my measuring
[9:33] stick by which I would gauge every
[9:36] choice every opportunity that has ever
[9:38] come across my path from that moment in
[9:41] 1986 to this moment that I'm sitting
[9:43] here talking to you today. And this is
[9:44] why I'm sharing this with you. The
[9:46] intuition that I experienced in that
[9:49] moment that empowered me to make a
[9:51] choice wisely in my life based on
[9:54] something that I knew was true for me,
[9:56] not what other people were telling me.
[9:58] That was a result of an intuitive
[10:00] experience.
[10:01] However, it happened as a result of the
[10:04] beauty of the sunset in the surrounding.
[10:07] It happened spontaneously. And my
[10:10] question was this, how do I have that
[10:11] experience when I want it and when I
[10:13] need it? What if the sun isn't there?
[10:14] What if the desert isn't there? How do
[10:17] we create these deep intuitive
[10:19] experiences on demand by choice when we
[10:22] choose without having the world trigger
[10:24] them within us? Well, the answer to that
[10:26] question is held in the new discoveries
[10:30] that have overturned those 150 years of
[10:32] scientific thinking about you and me.
[10:34] Because the truth is you and I are
[10:36] wired. We are wired for precisely such
[10:39] experiences and all that that
[10:41] encompasses. The short answer I can tell
[10:43] you right now is this. You are
[10:45] absolutely not what you have been told
[10:46] and you are more than you have ever
[10:48] imagined.
[10:50] And there are a lot of us in this world.
[10:51] The question became, who are we? For
[10:54] 5,000 years, those who have come before
[10:56] us, our indigenous ancestors, they
[10:58] answered the question in a way that made
[11:00] sense to them. It wasn't science, but it
[11:03] worked for them. It helped them to
[11:05] create better lives and stronger
[11:06] families and and stronger, healthier
[11:08] communities.
[11:10] We live in the modern world in the
[11:12] western world the world of science.
[11:14] Science is only about 300 years old and
[11:17] for 300 years science has asked the very
[11:20] same question. Who am I as individuals?
[11:23] Who are we collectively and science has
[11:26] developed a story based upon what they
[11:29] have believed to be true over these last
[11:32] 300 years. I mentioned that new
[11:35] discoveries now have overturned
[11:38] 150 years of that thinking. 150 years of
[11:41] the scientific story. A new story is
[11:43] emerging. It's a story of you and me and
[11:46] a new understanding of who we are in our
[11:48] relationship to the world. And that is
[11:50] what I want to talk to you about right
[11:51] now. So what I'm going to invite you to
[11:53] do in the whiteboard of your mind, if
[11:57] you can envision an inverted pyramid, an
[12:00] upside down pyramid. So the apex, the
[12:02] point is at the bottom. And it's at the
[12:04] point where we will begin with the most
[12:07] fundamental of these six questions and
[12:09] then I will quickly go through each of
[12:12] the subsequent questions as we move to
[12:14] the top of the pyramid. So the very
[12:16] first question, the bottom of this
[12:17] pyramid is what is the origin of life?
[12:21] Where does life come from? That's first
[12:22] question. The second question, what is
[12:25] the origin of human life? Because maybe
[12:28] human life doesn't come from where the
[12:30] other life comes from. That's an
[12:32] interesting question. We're going to
[12:33] talk about that in just a few minutes.
[12:35] The third question, what is our
[12:37] relationship to our bodies? Are we
[12:40] separate from our bodies? Are we
[12:42] powerless when it comes to influencing
[12:44] the well-being and the healing of our
[12:46] bodies? Or is there something else
[12:47] that's happening? The next question,
[12:50] what is our relationship to the world
[12:52] beyond our bodies? It's very similar to
[12:55] the previous question, but it's about us
[12:58] and our relationship to the world out
[13:01] there. Are we somehow connected to that
[13:04] world or are we separate and powerless
[13:06] to influence the circumstances of our
[13:09] lives? Do things just happen for no
[13:10] reason? The next question, what is our
[13:14] relationship to the past?
[13:16] Do we have a linear relationship to
[13:19] civilization? In other words, has it
[13:20] happened only one time? Did civilization
[13:23] begin 5,000 years ago as we've been
[13:25] taught in the schools for the last 150
[13:27] years? And there has been a linear
[13:31] progression to the pinnacle of
[13:33] sophistication that we find in our world
[13:35] today. Is that really what civilization
[13:37] is all about? Is there something more?
[13:40] The next question, the last question is
[13:42] what is our relationship to nature? What
[13:44] is the fundamental rule of the natural
[13:47] world? Well, these are the questions
[13:50] that science uses to answer who am I? If
[13:55] you were educated in the west, as I was,
[13:57] and I think most of us probably were in
[13:59] the last 150 years, we have been steeped
[14:01] in a scientific story. It is a story of
[14:04] separation, competition, and conflict.
[14:07] That story says as we begin at the
[14:09] bottom of the pyramid that the origin of
[14:11] life, it's completely random. And we
[14:13] know the physical evidence no longer
[14:15] supports that. The origin of human life.
[14:17] What is the origin of human life? We've
[14:19] been told that is completely random. And
[14:21] the theory of evolution has been used to
[14:23] justify that. What I'm going to share
[14:25] with you today is why that theory no
[14:28] longer supports the ideas when it comes
[14:30] to humans. So I want to be really clear
[14:32] about this. Evolution is a fact for some
[14:34] forms of life. As a geologist, I can see
[14:36] that. But when it comes to humans, the
[14:38] evidence breaks down. And we're going to
[14:40] dive a little deeper into that in just a
[14:42] few moments. The next question, what is
[14:44] our relationship to our bodies? We've
[14:47] been taught that we are separate from
[14:49] our bodies. That we are essentially
[14:51] powerless when it comes to the healing
[14:53] and the ability to influence what
[14:55] happens in our bodies. The next
[14:57] question, what is our relationship to
[14:59] the world around us? We have been taught
[15:01] that we are separate from our world and
[15:02] essentially powerless when it comes to
[15:04] influencing the events of life in the
[15:06] world around us. The next question, what
[15:08] have we been taught for 150 years? Is
[15:11] that civilization is linear. It happened
[15:13] one time. It began about 5,000 maybe
[15:15] 5,500 years ago during the time of
[15:17] ancient Sumeriia. And that there has
[15:20] been this linear progression. This is
[15:21] what we're taught. Evolving over time to
[15:24] the sophistication of what we see today.
[15:27] The last question 1859 Charles Darwin
[15:30] released a book entitled The Origin of
[15:32] Species. And in that book he defined
[15:35] what we now have believed to be the
[15:39] fundamental rule of nature. And that is
[15:41] the rule of survival of the strongest.
[15:44] And these are Darwin's own words from
[15:46] his text survival of the strongest. That
[15:49] nature is based upon this model of
[15:50] competition and conflict. So in your
[15:53] mind's eye, if you can see this in the
[15:55] pyramid on the left hand side, if you're
[15:58] taking notes, at the very top of your
[16:01] pyramid, write false scientific
[16:03] assumptions and then put a big X through
[16:05] every one of those things that I just
[16:07] mentioned because it is now peerreed
[16:10] science. It's not my opinion. It's not
[16:12] my theory. It's not my hypothesis. It's
[16:14] not Greg's story. peer-reviewed science
[16:16] has now overturned every one of those
[16:20] ideas of those beliefs that you and I
[16:22] have been taught. The story that you and
[16:23] I have been taught. But here's the
[16:25] thing. There is a reluctance and I think
[16:29] it's fair to say in many cases a
[16:31] resistance in mainstream media to share
[16:33] the new discoveries in public
[16:36] classrooms, in public textbooks, in
[16:39] public television documentaries. We are
[16:42] clinging. Maybe not you and me. Academia
[16:45] is clinging to the old story. New
[16:48] discoveries have now overturned every
[16:51] one of those ideas. I'm going to share
[16:52] these with you right now. In your mind's
[16:54] eye in that inverted pyramid, if you
[16:56] begin at the bottom, the origin of life,
[16:57] we know it's not random. The origin of
[16:59] human life is definitely not random. DNA
[17:01] is telling us this. Our relationship to
[17:03] our bodies, we know that we are deeply
[17:06] connected to our bodies. Thoughts,
[17:08] feelings, emotions, beliefs trigger the
[17:12] chemistry in our heart and our brain
[17:15] that is released into the body. And
[17:18] those emotions are based upon the way
[17:20] that we feel and our perceptions and our
[17:22] response to what happens in our lives in
[17:24] our world. The next question, our
[17:27] relationship to the world beyond our
[17:29] bodies. We now know that we are deeply
[17:31] connected to the world beyond our
[17:33] bodies. And science is telling us this.
[17:35] I have to tell you, it's no longer a
[17:37] question in the scientific world as to
[17:39] whether or not we are connected to one
[17:42] another and all things. Quantum physics
[17:45] has now told us that the connection
[17:47] exists. Here's the question. The
[17:49] question is, how deep does that
[17:50] connection go? How much influence do we
[17:53] really have when it comes to us and our
[17:56] relationship to the world around us?
[17:58] These are the things that we're going to
[17:59] explore through this series. And the
[18:02] question of civilization, is it linear?
[18:05] No. The new discoveries are telling us
[18:07] now that civilization is cyclic. We are
[18:11] living the most recent 5,000year cycle
[18:15] of civilization that did begin 5,500
[18:17] years ago in ancient Sumeriia. But the
[18:19] archaeological evidence, peerreed
[18:22] evidence, so it's accepted in the
[18:23] scientific world, is now telling us
[18:26] there was another cycle before that,
[18:28] another 5,000year cycle, and probably
[18:31] one even before that that is pushing the
[18:34] date for technologically advanced
[18:36] civilizations back into the last ice age
[18:39] and before. So we're talking 12, 15,000
[18:43] years ago is when these advanced
[18:46] technological civilizations existed. The
[18:49] last the last of our questions and this
[18:51] is this is so powerful. What is the
[18:54] fundamental rule of nature? We've been
[18:56] taught that that fundamental rule is
[18:58] competition and conflict. The best
[19:00] science of the 20th and now the 21st
[19:02] century is telling us that while
[19:05] competition happens and we certainly see
[19:06] that nature is based in the model of
[19:09] cooperation and what biologists call
[19:11] mutual aid. And to the degree that we
[19:14] see the competition and the conflict,
[19:16] that tells us how far we have strayed
[19:18] from the natural order, from nature's
[19:21] deepest truths. So when we consider all
[19:24] of these things, this pyramid now
[19:26] becomes the lens of perception through
[19:29] which we may answer the question, who am
[19:31] I? And when we begin to see ourselves as
[19:35] connected to one another, connected to
[19:38] our bodies, connected to the world, in a
[19:40] world of cooperation, living in a
[19:42] civilization that is cyclic and has a
[19:44] history that we can learn from, it
[19:46] changes everything. It changes
[19:47] everything. For example, what I'd like
[19:50] to do, let me just zero in on one of
[19:53] these items that I think is so powerful
[19:56] and makes such a difference in your life
[19:57] and my life right now. And that is this
[20:00] idea of evolution. know where we come
[20:02] from. We have been taught since 1859,
[20:07] since Darwin released his book, The
[20:09] Origin of Species, that we are the
[20:12] product of a long evolutionary journey
[20:14] that happened through these mutations,
[20:18] random mutations. When the mutations
[20:20] serve us, we keep them. And when they we
[20:22] don't, we discard them. But the evidence
[20:24] no longer supports this. The DNA no
[20:27] longer supports this. I'm just going to
[20:28] cut to the chase right here. humans,
[20:30] modern humans, us. We showed up on this
[20:34] earth 200,000
[20:36] years ago. We do not know how or where
[20:41] or why we showed up. There appears to be
[20:43] no evolutionary path leading to our
[20:47] appearance. We showed up intact with
[20:50] everything that we have today. We showed
[20:52] up all of a sudden with a 50% larger
[20:55] brain size than the nearest primate, an
[20:57] advanced nervous system, an advanced
[20:59] ability for language, advanced ability
[21:02] for uh for digital access to our our
[21:05] world, opposing thumbs and forefingers.
[21:08] And here's the key. We showed up with
[21:11] access, the ability to intentionally
[21:13] access an extended neural network in a
[21:18] way that no other form of life has. Now,
[21:20] what does that mean? What does that mean
[21:22] to you and me? That's where we're going
[21:23] here. Extended neural network. In 1991,
[21:27] scientists discovered in the human heart
[21:30] 40,000 specialized cells. They're called
[21:33] sensory neurites. They are specialized
[21:36] cells that are essentially brain like
[21:39] cells, but they're not in the brain and
[21:41] our head. They're in our heart. And
[21:43] there's such a concentration of them
[21:44] that they're actually called the little
[21:46] brain in the heart. Here's why this is
[21:49] important. These sensory neurites only
[21:52] discovered in '91, published in '94. I
[21:54] mean, this is how recent this this
[21:56] information is. These specialized cells,
[22:00] they think independently of the neurons
[22:03] in our brain. These specialized cells in
[22:06] our heart, they remember independently
[22:08] of the brain in our head. They learn
[22:12] independently of the brain in our head.
[22:14] Okay? So, we've all learned to think and
[22:16] feel and remember through our cranial
[22:18] brain. What about our heart? Do you know
[22:20] how to access the language of your
[22:22] heart? So that you can tap your heart's
[22:27] wisdom, your heart's intuition. Do you
[22:29] know what that language is? This is
[22:32] where the beauty of these discoveries
[22:33] come together. Because when I was in
[22:36] school, I was taught that the brain is
[22:37] the master organ of the body. And I
[22:38] think probably you were taught the same
[22:40] thing. And the brain certainly is
[22:42] important. But what we now know is that
[22:44] the brain receives many of the
[22:46] instructions that tell it what to do
[22:48] from the heart. So the heart is sending
[22:51] signals to the brain and the brain then
[22:53] is responding to these signals. This is
[22:56] where it gets really really interesting
[22:58] because what we now know is that we can
[23:00] function with the brain. We can think
[23:03] and learn and remember from our brain
[23:05] only. There are some cultures and some
[23:08] traditions that have learned to do just
[23:09] the opposite from the time they're born.
[23:11] They think, learn, and remember, they
[23:13] interpret the outside world through
[23:14] their hearts. As children, then they
[23:18] begin to learn to interpret the world
[23:19] through their brain. Here's where we
[23:21] benefit from both of these. We can
[23:24] harmonize our heart and our brain
[23:25] together. We can tune the nervous system
[23:28] in our heart and our brain, between our
[23:30] heart and our brain. We can tune the
[23:32] sensory neurites in our heart to the
[23:34] neurons in our brain. So, we're talking
[23:36] about two organs. Let me be very clear.
[23:39] Two organs. one powerful potent neural
[23:43] network. And when we do this, when we
[23:46] tune our heart and our brain together,
[23:48] two organs, a single potent neural
[23:51] network, we open the door to the
[23:54] extraordinary experiences that we've
[23:57] read about from the monks and the nuns
[23:59] and the abbotts and the shamans and the
[24:00] ancient, the indigenous traditions. The
[24:03] experiences that often were considered
[24:05] mystical, only experienced by special
[24:07] people with special abilities. Now, we
[24:10] know that's not true. 200,000 years ago,
[24:13] we showed up on this earth. We showed up
[24:16] with the wiring for these abilities
[24:19] intact. It did not develop slowly over a
[24:22] long period of time as an evolutionary
[24:24] process. That means that we are wired,
[24:28] we are designed to have these
[24:31] experiences and to be able to use them
[24:32] in our everyday lives. And what I'd like
[24:35] to do in the time that we have remaining
[24:37] here, what I'd like to do is let's just
[24:40] have an experience, one experience of
[24:43] how to access the beginning, this
[24:46] doorway to all of these other
[24:48] experiences, deep intuition, access to
[24:50] the subconscious, precognition,
[24:53] uh, all of these experiences, they all
[24:55] result from our ability to move into our
[24:58] hearts. And that should come as no
[25:00] surprise because that's where those
[25:01] sensory neurites are located. So, if I
[25:04] invite you to move into your heart, do
[25:07] you know what to do? Do you know how to
[25:10] do that? Now, I've had people look at me
[25:12] and they say, "Well, Greg, that's silly.
[25:13] Of course, I know how to move into my
[25:14] heart." And then when they're tested in
[25:17] the laboratory, what we discover is
[25:18] this, that we in the West are so
[25:21] conditioned as a general population.
[25:24] We're so conditioned to living in our
[25:26] brain that when we're asked, when we're
[25:28] invited to move into our hearts, we stay
[25:31] in our brain and think about what it
[25:32] would be like if we're in our hearts,
[25:34] but we're still in our brains doing it.
[25:35] To me, this is the advantage. This is
[25:37] the power of spending time with our
[25:40] indigenous family, with our our brothers
[25:42] and sisters in those monasteries and
[25:44] those nunnies and in the jungles of the
[25:46] Yucatan and the Andes Mountains because
[25:49] they have the same questions and they go
[25:51] through the same process. as we do when
[25:55] we try to access our hearts. And they've
[25:57] had to learn. And while we can glean
[26:00] from texts and books, there's nothing
[26:01] like sitting with a shaman or a monk or
[26:04] a nun in their monastery in their land,
[26:07] in their place, their sacred place, and
[26:10] looking them right in the eye and asking
[26:11] them, "How do you do this? How do you
[26:14] move into your heart?" So, let's do
[26:16] this. Let's take this opportunity
[26:19] together
[26:21] in this intimate moment and begin the
[26:24] first step of the process that opens the
[26:27] door to these amazing, empowering,
[26:30] extraordinary mystical experiences.
[26:32] Let's move into our hearts. So, I'm
[26:34] going to invite you first to simply
[26:37] close your eyes so that you are shifting
[26:40] your awareness from the outer world into
[26:42] your inner world. And this sends a very
[26:45] powerful signal to your body. This is
[26:46] the first step, a very powerful signal
[26:49] that you are now turning your awareness,
[26:52] focusing inward.
[26:54] And I'm going to invite you to shift
[26:56] that focus from your mind into your
[26:58] heart.
[26:59] Now this is where the indigenous
[27:01] perspective is so powerful because what
[27:05] our indigenous family says is that if we
[27:08] can touch our heart center gently in a
[27:12] way that's comfortable for us it can be
[27:14] an open palm like we see in the Middle
[27:16] East like we see in the jungles in the
[27:18] Yucatan that people greet themselves and
[27:20] one another in the morning this way what
[27:23] we see the Buddhists doing is creating a
[27:25] mudra with their hands together it's
[27:27] called the prayer mudra and they
[27:29] actually touch their heart center in
[27:31] this way or many people will simply take
[27:34] an index finger or middle finger and
[27:36] just touch their heart center. Here's
[27:38] the key. Here's why we do this. Wherever
[27:41] your body feels the sensation, your
[27:44] awareness will automatically shift to
[27:46] that place. Your awareness will shift to
[27:49] the place of that sensation. So when you
[27:52] touch your heart center, your sternum
[27:54] right here, your awareness is going
[27:56] right there to your heart.
[27:58] And this is one of the keys that we find
[28:01] in the indigenous communities to
[28:03] beginning this process to moving into
[28:04] our hearts. All right. Once we are
[28:07] [music] in our hearts right here, begin
[28:10] to breathe a little slower than usual.
[28:13] Whatever's comfortable for you, maybe 5
[28:15] seconds inhale, 5 seconds exhale.
[28:18] This simple act sends a very powerful
[28:22] second signal to your body because the
[28:25] only time you would slow your breathing
[28:28] to 5 seconds in or 5 seconds out is when
[28:31] you are safe or when you feel that you
[28:35] are in a place that's safe. This safe
[28:38] signal now that you are creating in your
[28:41] heart permeates your body. It changes
[28:43] your body chemistry. We're going to talk
[28:45] more about that in this series. For
[28:48] right now, here's what we've done. We
[28:51] have moved our awareness from our mind
[28:52] into our heart and we are breathing a
[28:54] little slower as if the breath is coming
[28:57] from our heart. And I'm going to give
[29:00] you a moment just to do that. I'm going
[29:02] to do the same.
[29:13] Okay. Now that you are in this space,
[29:16] this is the beginning. Because if we
[29:18] can't get into our hearts, the other
[29:19] steps aren't going to have the same
[29:21] impact. Once we're in our hearts, you
[29:24] remember those sensory neurites that I
[29:26] just mentioned that think, feel, and
[29:28] remember on their own. I'm going to
[29:30] invite you to ask your heart a question.
[29:33] Any question, something that you've
[29:35] always wanted to know. And every time
[29:37] you ask another person, they give you a
[29:40] different answer. So, you don't know
[29:41] which is right and which is wrong. and
[29:42] you feel like you're pulled in a million
[29:44] different directions like I did when I
[29:46] was getting ready to leave the
[29:47] corporations and I didn't know what was
[29:49] right for me when I was in my heart on
[29:52] Mount Si. This is what was happening for
[29:54] me. So you have this opportunity now.
[29:56] Your heart knows. So here you are in
[30:00] your heart right now accessing 40,000
[30:02] sensory neurites that think, feel, and
[30:04] remember independently of those in the
[30:07] brain.
[30:09] Ask your heart a question.
[30:19] And it doesn't take long to answer
[30:21] because your heart doesn't tell you a
[30:22] story. The heart answers in brief,
[30:25] concise statements that have no judgment
[30:28] and no fear and are meaningful to you.
[30:31] I'm going to ask you, how did it feel?
[30:33] How did it feel when you moved your
[30:35] awareness into your heart? You began to
[30:36] breathe differently and you closed your
[30:38] eyes. What did you feel? what was
[30:39] different from your everyday world. This
[30:42] is going to be important to you in
[30:44] future portions of this series because
[30:46] it opens the door to this gateway to the
[30:49] extraordinary possibilities. I want to
[30:51] thank you for spending a time with me
[30:53] today and allowing me to share this
[30:56] [music] indigenous ancient precious
[30:58] wisdom, this deep insight with you. When
[31:01] we go into the deeper aspects, [music]
[31:04] what happens next? How do we go from
[31:07] being in our heart to opening the door
[31:09] to the deep aspects of intuition and
[31:12] what does it mean in our everyday lives?
[31:14] You know, we live in a world made of
[31:17] electrical and magnetic fields. This is
[31:19] scientific fact. And the single organ in
[31:24] our body that has the strongest
[31:26] electrical field and the strongest
[31:28] magnetic field, it's not the brain, it's
[31:30] the heart. The very first organ to form
[31:33] in your body when you're in your
[31:34] mother's womb is your heart. And it's no
[31:37] surprise to me as I begin to understand
[31:39] the interaction of our bodies with these
[31:43] fields of energy that we would need the
[31:46] organ that is designed to interact with
[31:48] the stuff our world is made of. We would
[31:50] need that organ first in our lives. And
[31:53] we continue to use it throughout our
[31:55] lives in very very precise ways. And if
[31:58] we choose to take this to the next step,
[32:01] we can actually hone tune these
[32:03] abilities, refine these abilities to
[32:06] give us the extraordinary opportunities
[32:08] of of deep intuition, self-healing,
[32:10] ondemand, powerful immune systems, super
[32:14] learning, the ability for super
[32:15] learning, the opportunity to trigger the
[32:17] anti-aging hormones that are already in
[32:19] our bodies waiting to be triggered. All
[32:22] of these, as different as they seem from
[32:23] one another, direct access to our
[32:25] subconscious mind, as different as they
[32:27] are from one another, they all stem from
[32:30] our ability to tune our heart and our
[32:32] brain together. We took the first step
[32:35] to do just that. We shifted our
[32:37] awareness from our mind into our heart
[32:40] and we asked our hearts a question to
[32:42] allow these sensory neurites to answer
[32:44] that question for us. Now, what I'd like
[32:47] to do, I'm going to invite you to share
[32:49] the next step with me. Let's take this
[32:51] to the next level. Once we're in our
[32:54] hearts, how do we actually tune the
[32:56] heart and the brain? Our hearts and our
[32:58] brains together.
[33:01] Every moment of every day, there is a
[33:04] conversation that's happening between
[33:05] your heart and your brain. It's
[33:06] happening right now. Your heart is
[33:08] sending information to your brain, a lot
[33:10] of information. Uh, and your brain is
[33:13] actually responding and sending
[33:15] information back to the heart, but to a
[33:17] lesser degree. The brain communicates
[33:18] with the heart to a lesser degree than
[33:20] the heart does to the brain. So it's
[33:22] happening every moment of every day.
[33:24] Here's the question. Do you know what
[33:25] your heart is saying to your brain? Do
[33:27] you know what your heart is saying to
[33:28] your brain right now? The Institute of
[33:30] Heart Math pioneering research
[33:32] institution in Northern California who
[33:35] are doing just that pioneering the
[33:37] research into the understanding of the
[33:39] human heart in in nontraditional ways.
[33:41] Things that are not typically done in
[33:43] universities. uh their research has
[33:46] opened the door to helping us understand
[33:49] about this communication and how we can
[33:51] access it in our lives. So for example,
[33:54] one of the things that we can see is
[33:56] that the conversation between our heart
[33:58] and our brain when we are feeling
[34:01] feelings such as frustration or anger or
[34:04] hate or jealousy or rage, things that
[34:06] you typically would call a negative
[34:08] experience, uh what we're actually doing
[34:11] is we're sending a signal through that
[34:13] negative experience to our brain. It's a
[34:15] very jagged, chaotic looking signal.
[34:16] It's like a bad day on the stock market.
[34:19] Okay? And when our brain receives that
[34:21] signal, it releases the chemistry that
[34:23] matches the signal. So a jagged chaotic
[34:26] signal uh releases the stress chemistry
[34:29] uh high levels of adrenaline and
[34:31] cortisol, which is good for a short
[34:35] period of time. When we need to respond
[34:37] quickly to a threat in our world, you
[34:39] want those. But you don't want to live
[34:41] your life day in and day out in this
[34:44] stressful way with the stress chemistry
[34:45] always present. Here's the reason why.
[34:48] Because when we are experiencing the
[34:50] stress chemistry, our body makes a
[34:53] choice and it says, "Ah, if something is
[34:55] important enough to create that stress
[34:57] chemistry, then we we don't need so much
[35:00] right now a strong immune system. We
[35:02] don't need so much right now, the
[35:04] anti-aging hormones. So, we'll give less
[35:07] energy to those and we'll focus more on
[35:09] whatever it is that's causing the
[35:11] stress." So, you can see short term,
[35:13] that's a good thing. You don't want to
[35:15] live your life day in and day out like
[35:16] that. And you may know people that do in
[35:18] your workplace, in your family. I
[35:20] certainly have have worked with people
[35:22] that way. And they are the ones that are
[35:25] most susceptible to uh to the
[35:29] difficulties of life. When the flu goes
[35:31] through the office, they're the first
[35:32] ones that catch it. They look older than
[35:34] their years because they are wearing
[35:36] this stress. So when we shift the signal
[35:41] between our heart and our brain to an
[35:43] even rhythm, that's called a coherent
[35:45] rhythm, all that chemistry changes. When
[35:48] we shift into that rhythm, our body
[35:51] says, "Ah, we don't need that stress
[35:53] chemistry to the same degree any longer.
[35:54] We can stop producing so much adrenaline
[35:57] and and cortisol. Let's go back to the
[35:59] anti-aging hormones. Let's kick those
[36:01] into overdrive so this person is young
[36:03] and healthy and vibrant. Let's trigger
[36:05] the immune response so that this person
[36:08] can navigate with their children in
[36:11] daycare and be around people in the
[36:13] airports and uh at school and in the
[36:15] workplace, in the malls uh all that they
[36:18] want because their immune system is so
[36:21] strong that they are not as susceptible
[36:24] to the opportunistic bugs that we seem
[36:26] to find in those kinds of public places.
[36:28] So here is the question. How do we make
[36:30] that shift? How do you shift from the
[36:33] jagged incoherent signal to the even
[36:37] regular coherent signal? This is where
[36:40] it gets really interesting because it's
[36:41] all about the emotion that you choose to
[36:44] create and to experience in your heart.
[36:48] You choose the emotion and your body
[36:50] reflects that through the chemistry of
[36:53] that emotion. So when we think about
[36:56] this in relation to the new discoveries
[36:58] and what we know, what does it tell us?
[37:00] When we begin the process, the technique
[37:03] of shifting our awareness from our brain
[37:05] into our heart, that is the first step
[37:09] toward honing, tuning these two powerful
[37:13] neural networks together. The second
[37:15] step now is what I'd like to share with
[37:17] you here. But to do that, we're going to
[37:19] have to go back and let's reexperience
[37:21] what we did a little quicker this time.
[37:23] I won't go into as much detail, but is
[37:25] the first step in the process to allow
[37:27] us to do just this. So, I'll begin as we
[37:30] did before. I'm going to invite you to
[37:32] first close your eyes so that you are
[37:35] turning your awareness inward. You're
[37:37] shutting out the diversions and the
[37:39] distractions of the outside world. It's
[37:41] a powerful signal you're sending to your
[37:43] body. It's the first one right now.
[37:45] Turning your awareness inward. Second
[37:47] step [music]
[37:48] is to shift your awareness into your
[37:52] heart from your mind. And as we
[37:55] explored, one of the ways to do this is
[37:58] to simply touch your heart center in a
[38:01] way that is comfortable for you with a
[38:03] finger or two fingers, an open palm if
[38:06] you prefer. Buddhists do it this way in
[38:08] the monasteries. But this isn't about
[38:09] religion. It's about a powerful internal
[38:12] technology that we've had available to
[38:15] us for over 200,000 years that we are
[38:17] only now reawakening in our everyday
[38:20] lives in the modern world. So if you can
[38:23] touch your heart center gently in the
[38:24] way that's comfortable for you, the
[38:27] reason you do this is because your
[38:29] awareness will always go to the place
[38:31] where you feel that touch. If I touch my
[38:34] arm, my awareness goes to my arm. If I
[38:35] touch my knee, it goes to my knee.
[38:37] [music] Touching my heart. Now my
[38:39] awareness is moving to my heart. And I
[38:41] invite you now to begin to breathe a
[38:43] little slower from this place as if your
[38:45] breath is coming from your heart. Maybe
[38:48] 5 seconds inhale and 5 seconds exhale.
[38:51] Whatever it is is comfortable for you.
[38:54] This sends a powerful second signal
[38:56] telling your body that you are in a
[38:59] place and a time that is safe [snorts]
[39:02] because that is the only time you would
[39:04] slow your breathing [music] in this way.
[39:06] And that slower breath releases the
[39:09] signal into the body that says it's okay
[39:11] to [music] do this. We don't need to be
[39:13] stressed or fight or flight. Okay. Now
[39:16] the next step, this is what establishes
[39:19] the communication between the heart and
[39:22] the brain. Remember I said every moment
[39:24] of every day we have this conversation
[39:26] going on between the heart and the
[39:28] brain. Now we are taking command of that
[39:31] conversation. We are determining what
[39:34] our heart is saying to our brain. And
[39:36] the way we do this is by having a
[39:38] feeling, a very specific kind of
[39:41] feeling. So I'm going to invite you to
[39:44] the best of your [music] ability. If you
[39:46] can feel in your heart feelings such as
[39:49] appreciation for anything or anyone,
[39:53] gratitude for anything or anyone, care,
[39:59] compassion,
[40:01] appreciation, gratitude, care,
[40:03] compassion. What the researchers have
[40:06] found is that these four words, if you
[40:08] choose any one of these four, they tend
[40:12] to trigger in most people the optimal
[40:14] signal between the heart and the brain,
[40:16] it's called coherence. It's very low
[40:19] frequency signal. It's less than one
[40:20] hertz. It's 0.1 hertz. So you are
[40:24] feeling the emotion of a low frequency
[40:26] signal, but you don't need to know that
[40:28] you're feeling the emotion of 0.1
[40:30] [music] hertz. Optimum coherence between
[40:32] the heart and the brain. Now we are
[40:35] tuning these two separate neural
[40:39] networks into a single potent network.
[40:43] This is the key to the extraordinary
[40:46] [music] and mystical experiences that
[40:48] you've read about all of your life that
[40:50] you've heard about from [music] the
[40:51] ancient and indigenous peoples that
[40:53] you've met throughout your lifetime.
[40:55] This is the key once we establish this
[40:58] connection. It's the doorway. It's the
[41:01] portal to a myriad of experiences, some
[41:05] that we've already talked about, deep
[41:06] states of intuition on demand when you
[41:09] choose to have that intuition.
[41:12] Powerful, powerful doorway to the
[41:14] subconscious. If you've ever used
[41:16] affirmations in your life, an
[41:18] affirmation is designed to repattern a
[41:22] belief that we hold in our subconscious.
[41:24] So for that affirmation to be effective,
[41:27] we must communicate with our
[41:29] subconscious in a language that's
[41:31] meaningful to the subconscious. That
[41:32] makes sense, doesn't it? This experience
[41:35] is the doorway that opens the path to
[41:38] that subconscious. So when you are in
[41:41] this space, this is where you would have
[41:42] those affirmations.
[41:44] Say, "My perfect mate is manifesting for
[41:46] me now or my my body is in perfect
[41:49] health." Those kinds of affirmations or
[41:51] whatever you choose.
[41:53] super learning. What scientists have
[41:55] found is that when we establish this
[41:57] relationship, it kicks our brain and our
[42:00] heart together into a state that allows
[42:03] for greater retention and greater
[42:06] learning uh greater storage and greater
[42:09] access to what we have already
[42:10] experienced superarning. If you've ever
[42:13] looked at brain states, it actually
[42:15] involves the gamma state uh of of the
[42:18] brain waves, a very highly elevated
[42:20] state of awareness. Uh, and if you're
[42:23] not into any of that, maybe you're
[42:24] watching this video, maybe this is the
[42:26] first one you've seen, and you say, 'You
[42:28] know, that stuff uh doesn't interest me
[42:31] so much, but but I just want to be
[42:32] really healthy. Well, this works for you
[42:34] as well, because what I'm inviting you
[42:36] to do right now is the gateway to
[42:38] optimal health. If you're not into any
[42:40] of those other experiences simply by
[42:41] making this connection, number one, you
[42:45] trigger an enhanced immune response.
[42:46] What scientists have found is that the
[42:49] SIGA
[42:50] in our mouth, our first line of defense
[42:53] uh for the immune system goes skyhigh
[42:55] after three minutes of doing just what
[42:58] we're doing right now. Triggers that uh
[43:01] uh very very powerful immune response.
[43:04] Not only can we heal broken strands of
[43:07] DNA, but we actually have the ability to
[43:09] regenerate this DNA within our bodies.
[43:12] Uh, in addition to all of these things,
[43:15] I began this series by talking to you
[43:18] about the context of our lives and our
[43:20] world. We're living a time that the
[43:22] experts call a time of extremes. We've
[43:24] got to think and live differently, more
[43:26] so now than we ever have in the past.
[43:28] And we all have what is called a
[43:30] baseline of resilience. The way that we
[43:32] have learned to deal with life and to
[43:35] deal with change in in our lives. Well,
[43:37] our lives are all about change right
[43:39] now. And I bet you're seeing it in your
[43:40] life right now as well. Simply by doing
[43:42] what we're doing right now, what we do
[43:44] is we raise the baseline of our
[43:47] resilience. We're not changing what
[43:48] happens in the world out there. We're
[43:50] changing how we respond. We're
[43:52] empowering ourselves to respond in a
[43:55] conscious, healthy way. Not to survive,
[43:59] but giving ourselves the ability to
[44:00] thrive in the change of our lives. All
[44:03] of this from opening this portal, by
[44:06] honing this communication, by tuning our
[44:09] heart and our brain together. So, this
[44:11] is one example of why it's important to
[44:14] understand the answer to this question.
[44:17] Who am I? The new discoveries are
[44:19] telling us who we are. And what they're
[44:20] telling us is we're not what we've been
[44:22] told in the past. And we are absolutely
[44:24] more than we've ever imagined. And what
[44:27] I'm sharing with you right now is one
[44:29] example [music] of where we can go with
[44:30] this. However, if a scholar were to read
[44:33] this in a vacuum, this information would
[44:36] make no sense at all. I also had the
[44:39] opportunity to take the same text and
[44:41] read it through the eyes of the best
[44:43] science of the 21st century. And let me
[44:45] tell you what happened when we married
[44:47] that wisdom of the past with the best
[44:49] science of the 21st century. It gave us
[44:52] the keys, the clues to literally look
[44:55] into the DNA of our bodies and of all
[44:58] life in a very very different way. A way
[45:00] that could not happen through science
[45:02] alone or through spirituality alone. And
[45:06] when we did, what we found was that
[45:09] within the DNA of every form of life, we
[45:14] find a message that has been with us
[45:16] from the very beginning. And that
[45:18] message we read like the letters of a
[45:20] page on a book that literally says God
[45:24] eternal within the body. God eternal
[45:26] within the body. It doesn't say who God
[45:28] is or where God comes from. But the fact
[45:31] that this message is in the DNA of all
[45:35] life. And the fact that we're able to
[45:36] read it now is only possible because we
[45:39] married science and spirituality to give
[45:42] us a new way of looking at our world and
[45:44] into our lives. We've been taught that
[45:46] science and spirituality are
[45:48] incompatible with one another. But what
[45:50] we're really finding is they're actually
[45:52] two sides of the very same coin. two
[45:54] very different ways of looking at a
[45:56] fundamental reality that you and I live
[46:00] and share each moment of each day in our
[46:03] lives. I'd like to talk to you just for
[46:05] a minute about how this kind of
[46:07] information
[46:09] can make a difference in someone's life,
[46:12] a direct impact in the lives of
[46:15] individuals or groups of people today.
[46:17] And because we are talking about
[46:20] connections that cover so many different
[46:23] facets of our lives. We're talking about
[46:26] our bodies. We're talking about our
[46:27] world. We're talking about the past, the
[46:29] future. We could talk about how
[46:32] connecting the heart and the brain
[46:35] awakens the anti-aging hormones in our
[46:37] bodies. That has helped a lot of people.
[46:38] Or we could talk about how the
[46:41] understanding of cooperation has changed
[46:44] people's lives when they go to solve
[46:45] their problems. because now they're no
[46:48] longer looking at competition as the
[46:50] solution. But what I want to do is zero
[46:52] in on something very specific, very
[46:54] personal. When we begin talking about
[46:57] the field of energy that connects all
[46:58] things and that field provides three
[47:02] functions, serves three functions in our
[47:04] world. It is a bridge between us and the
[47:06] world out there. It is the container
[47:09] within which all things in our lives are
[47:11] happening. And it is a mirror in the
[47:14] world out there for what we claim to
[47:17] believe in our hearts and our minds
[47:18] consciously and subconsciously. Think
[47:20] about that. A mirror in the everyday
[47:24] world for our deepest beliefs that we
[47:26] may not even be aware of. I've had the
[47:29] opportunity to work with people and one
[47:32] particular individual who believed that
[47:35] all of the stress, all the conflict that
[47:39] she was seeing in her life, she believed
[47:42] the old the old tradition that said
[47:45] whatever you see in the world is
[47:46] reflecting you. So in her marriage with
[47:50] her children, with her sister, with her
[47:52] friends, with her co-workers, she was
[47:54] always experiencing conflict. And so she
[47:56] said, "Are they showing me my conflict?"
[48:00] But the mirrors don't work exactly in
[48:03] that way. There are levels of mirrors.
[48:05] Sometimes the mirrors are showing us
[48:07] what we judge. Sometimes the mirrors are
[48:09] showing us things that we've lost or
[48:11] given away or had taken from us in our
[48:13] lives on the most intimate levels. And
[48:15] that's what happened with this woman
[48:17] when she began to understand that her
[48:20] friends, her closest, most intimate
[48:23] relationships, they weren't telling her
[48:24] what it is that she was in the moment.
[48:27] They were showing her what she judges in
[48:30] the moment. And that changed everything.
[48:32] She said, "My God, I never knew that I
[48:36] was in judgment of all of these people
[48:38] on all of these different levels." And
[48:40] the beauty of understanding these kinds
[48:42] of mirrors is that once we heal that
[48:46] judgment in one place in our lives,
[48:48] there's a cascade effect and it is
[48:50] healed in many other levels. You don't
[48:52] have to go to every relationship and
[48:53] make amends because the fundamental the
[48:57] fundamental judgment is healed within
[48:59] us. There's no longer a reason for the
[49:01] world to reflect it to us. This is a
[49:03] concrete example of how these
[49:06] understandings can make a powerful
[49:08] difference in your life. I'm just going
[49:09] to ask you in general, what would your
[49:11] life look like, your everyday life? What
[49:14] would it look like in the workplace, in
[49:16] the classroom, in your most intimate
[49:18] relationships, if the way you have been
[49:21] taught to think about yourself suddenly
[49:24] changed? If it shifted from separation
[49:27] and conflict to unity and cooperation,
[49:30] what would that mean to you in your
[49:32] life? I just want to tell you right now
[49:34] that you are absolutely wired. You are
[49:38] fundamentally wired. Your brain and your
[49:40] nervous system are wired for
[49:42] extraordinary experiences in [music]
[49:45] this lifetime right now. We don't have
[49:47] to live in a monastery on a mountaintop
[49:50] halfway around the world or seclude
[49:51] ourselves from our lives and our friends
[49:53] and our families
[49:55] to have these experiences. This is where
[49:58] for me [music] the rubber meets the
[50:00] road. The spiritual rubber of our
[50:03] deepest understandings meets [music] the
[50:05] road of our everyday lives. You are
[50:08] wired to be extraordinary.
