Acerca de Este Evento

Descripción

Waterfall of Music is a seven-day healing retreat at PachaMama Eco Village & Retreat Center in Nicoya, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Led by the Brazilian musician Carioca Freitas, it brings together song, ceremony, and community life in the Amazonian ceremonial tradition. It suits people drawn to devotional music and sung ceremony who want to spend a full week in an eco village rather than a single evening.

What to Expect

The week is held between two circles. An opening circle begins the retreat, and a closing circle on the last day ends it. In between come three ceremonies, held on the second, fourth, and sixth days, with open days around them.

Each ceremony draws on a different sung lineage. The first brings together Samasati and Aquarela. The second is an Umbanda ceremony. The third is Ciranda Poim Poim. Participants sit around a white altar, and the ceremony becomes a space for prayer, meditation, and celebration. The songs are offered as an invitation toward healing, awakening, and unity, and the three ceremonies are framed around love, healing, and gratitude.

The retreat is meant as more than a sequence of ceremonies. The days between them are left open for integration and connection, shaped by the natural setting of PachaMama and the rhythm of village life. Participants live alongside one another as a community for the week.

About Carioca Freitas

Carioca Freitas is a Brazilian musician from Rio de Janeiro, known for blending traditional Brazilian sounds with contemporary styles. His music fuses samba, bossa nova, and MPB with jazz, electronic influences, and more. He leads the ceremonies and the circles that open and close the retreat.

The Setting

The retreat takes place at PachaMama Eco Village & Retreat Center, near Nicoya in the province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Guests stay at the venue, and the village itself is part of the experience: the space between ceremonies is lived in the surroundings, among the other participants.

Before You Go

There are two ways to take part. The guest rate includes accommodation at the venue, while the visitor rate is for those who come without accommodation and do not stay on site. Both cover the opening circle, the three ceremonies, and the closing circle. A 13 percent Costa Rican VAT is added to the total, and early bird pricing is available for a limited time before the full price applies.

The retreat is open to anyone drawn to this kind of music and ceremony, and no prior experience is listed as a requirement. For questions about details and pricing, the organizers at PachaMama can be contacted directly.
