Acerca de Este Evento

Descripción

This women's wellness retreat is a quiet weekend of gentle yoga, meditation, sound healing and rest, held at Amarant in Don Valley, in the Yarra Valley of Victoria, Australia. It runs for three days and two nights and is led by Ilana Kosakiewicz, a kinesiologist, energy coach, and yoga and meditation teacher. It is made for women who are tired, stretched across work and family, and ready to put themselves on the list for a few days. The group is small, up to twelve women, and women aged 16 and over are welcome.

What to Expect

The weekend begins on Friday with arrival from noon, a welcome and lunch, a first workshop in the late afternoon, dinner, and an unhurried evening. Early in the retreat you set an intention and journal, a way of bringing busy thoughts to the surface so they can settle.

Saturday starts with gentle yoga at 7:30 am, then breakfast and a morning workshop. Yoga nidra follows at midday, and after lunch the afternoon is open. Afternoon tea comes at 4:00 pm, then a women's circle, dinner, and a new moon ritual in the evening. Sunday opens with gentle yoga and a final workshop, followed by brunch, a closing circle at 11:00 am, and departure at noon.

The yoga is hatha, yin and restorative, slow and soft, with daily meditation, guided yoga nidra and sound healing. There is also a cacao ceremony. Across the weekend there are three group workshops with Ilana. Between sessions there is free time to nap, walk, read, journal or sit by the fire. Every class is optional, and you can step in and out of the schedule as you need. The times above are an example schedule, and the full version is sent before the weekend.

About Ilana Kosakiewicz

Ilana Kosakiewicz is a kinesiologist, energy coach and mentor (reiki and more), and a yoga and meditation teacher. Her mission is to help women slow down to vibe up. She also works with children and some men, helping them reclaim their spirit, zest and energy through aligned living.

Her path began in the corporate world, where she spent more than 12 years as an accountant, studying for her degree and CPA part time for nine years while working full time. In her late twenties she looked healthy from the outside but was exhausted and burnt out. In the week of her 30th birthday she was diagnosed with chronic fatigue, adrenal fatigue and a Lyme-like disease. She calls that diagnosis a message to wake up, and it led her to the work she does now. She created these retreats around what she craves herself: peace, quiet, whole food, yoga, deep breathing, nature and connection with like-minded women.

The Setting

Amarant sits on 25 acres of rainforest in Don Valley. The house and yoga space are built to feel like a treehouse, with panoramic views down the valley. Walking paths, gardens, picnic areas, wildlife and a spring surround the property, and guests can also venture out into the wider Yarra Valley. It is described as a true nature escape with off the grid living.

The venue is about 1.5 to 2 hours from Melbourne's CBD, and about 1.5 hours from the Latrobe Valley in Gippsland. Rooms are private, twin share or triple share, plus a loft share room reached by an internal ladder. All meals are vegetarian, with vegan and gluten free variations, and unlimited snacks and treats are provided.

Before You Go

No yoga experience is needed. Classes are gentle and slow, suited to beginners and experienced practitioners alike. The retreat is held in English.

Included are two nights' accommodation, three group workshops, two morning yin and yang yoga and meditation sessions, yoga nidra, sound healing, one massage or healing treatment with Danae Wellness or Rhianna B, the women's circle, cacao ceremony, fire and nature time, all meals, snacks, use of the facilities, optional nature walks and a welcome pack.

Travel to and from the venue is not included. Bring your own yoga mat and a blanket for yoga, meditation and workshops, though a limited number of mats are available on site. A full list of what to bring is sent before the retreat. Please email Ilana about any dietary needs beyond the vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.
