Women's Winter Singing Retreat with Melanie Golding

Women's Winter Singing Retreat with Melanie Golding is a retreat for women who want to sing together at the start of the year. It takes place in the Main Centre at EarthSpirit Centre in Compton Dundon, Somerset, in the south-west of England. The gathering is simple in its purpose: women coming together to sing and welcome in the New Year.

If you are looking for a women's singing retreat in Somerset, a group voice gathering in winter, or a quiet way to begin the year in company, this is one to consider. Melanie Golding leads the retreat.

What to Expect

The retreat is built around singing as a shared act. Its stated intention is a chance for women to come together and sing to welcome in the New Year, so the weekend is about voices joined in a group rather than performance. Melanie Golding hosts and guides the singing. The people in the room are other women who have come for the same reason.

The retreat runs for a short stretch in the heart of winter, a season that suits gathering indoors, warming the body through voice and starting the year with others instead of alone.

About Melanie Golding

Melanie Golding leads this winter singing retreat for women and is the teacher and singer behind the gathering. She holds the retreat at EarthSpirit Centre, where she brings women together to sing at the turn of the year.

The Setting

EarthSpirit Centre is a retreat and workshop venue in Compton Dundon, Somerset, close to the Somerset Levels and within reach of Glastonbury. This retreat is held in the Main Centre, one of the centre's two main buildings, alongside the separate Little Earth building. The centre hosts a wide range of residential gatherings through the year, including yoga, breathwork, meditation and shamanic work, so it is well used to people coming to stay and practise together.

Before You Go

The retreat is for women. The organizer does not describe any required singing experience, so check with Melanie Golding if you are unsure whether your level of experience suits the group.
