Acerca de Este Evento

Descripción

The Tipi Ceremony is a gathering held at PachaMama Eco Village & Retreat Center in Nicoya, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. It sits within the Red Road ceremonies that PachaMama offers alongside its meditation retreats, yoga workshops, emotional healing workshops and musical journeys. It suits people drawn to indigenous-rooted ceremony who want to enter it in a community setting, in a retreat center built for this kind of work.

PachaMama describes the medicine of the ceremony in tender terms: innocent, precious, family, and a friend to all. It calls it a gentle flower. That language sets the tone. This is presented as a ceremony of relationship and care, not a spectacle or a test of endurance.

What to Expect

The ceremony is held across two days and is part of PachaMama's regular ceremonial calendar, returning several times through the season. Alongside the general Tipi Ceremony, the center also hosts a Women of all nation Tipi Ceremony and a Men's Tipi Ceremony. These are separate gatherings for women and for men, so you can choose the one that fits what you are looking for.

PachaMama also holds other Red Road offerings, including a Vision Quest, which it describes as one of the oldest methods used by indigenous people on the Red Road as a kind of initiation. Many people come to the Tipi Ceremony as one part of a longer stay, pairing it with other programs at the center.

The Setting

PachaMama Eco Village & Retreat Center is in Nicoya, in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica, a tropical forest setting that shapes the atmosphere of everything held there. The center runs a year-round program of retreats, workshops and ceremonies, and closes its doors during the rainy season, so the ceremony is offered only in the months when the center is open.

Before You Go

Because the Tipi Ceremony is held in several forms, including general, women's and men's gatherings, check which one you are joining before you plan your travel. If you want to stay longer, PachaMama's neighboring programs, such as the Theobroma Cacao experience, Reiki trainings, silent retreats and body cleanse programs, are scheduled around the ceremonies and can be combined with them.
