Descripción
The Art of Softening is a yoga teacher training immersion in Yin Yoga, Thai Bodywork, and nervous system restoration, held at Haramara Retreat in Sayulita, Nayarit, Mexico. It is designed for yoga teachers and embodied practitioners who want to deepen how they teach, facilitate, and hold space. It is led by Delaney Maberry and carries 40 hours of continuing education for yoga teachers.
This is not a training built around collecting more techniques for the teaching toolbox. It asks what changes when we move beyond doing yoga and begin to listen: to the body, to sensation, to the nervous system, to one another, and to the moment in front of us.
What to Expect
The immersion combines in-person experiential training with virtual education before the retreat, so there is room to practice, receive feedback, ask questions, and integrate what you learn. Across the week, the teaching covers:
- Yin Yoga as a practice of presence, awareness, and softening
- Thai Bodywork and the art of conscious, responsive touch
- Consent, boundaries, and discernment in hands-on work
- Nervous system literacy and restoration
- Embodied facilitation, presence, attunement, and co-regulation
- The role of silence and spaciousness in meaningful experiences
- Creating classes that invite exploration rather than prescribe an outcome
- Practical ways to bring these skills into your teaching and professional practice
The week closes with a teaching practicum and a written Yin Yoga sequence, where you can demonstrate and integrate your learning. The group is small and intimate, with personalized feedback from the lead facilitator. Ceremonies and retreat experiences are part of the program, along with dedicated time for rest, reflection, connection, and integration. The premise is simple: we cannot authentically invite others into a practice of softening if we never give ourselves permission to soften.
About Delaney Maberry
Delaney Maberry is a yoga educator, somatic and breathwork facilitator, Thai Bodywork practitioner, and retreat leader, and the creator of The Art of Softening. Her background in chemical engineering, together with years of studying and teaching embodied practices, gives her work a blend of analytical curiosity, experiential learning, and deep reverence for the body. Her teaching is rooted in presence, nervous system awareness, and conscious touch, and in the belief that meaningful change happens when we slow down enough to truly listen.
