Summer Begins Ceremony, Berkeley, California

Summer Begins Ceremony in Berkeley, California, is a seasonal ceremony for people who like to mark the turning of the year with ritual and community. It is led by Bronwyn Ayla, an acupuncturist, diviner and temple tender who works with the cycles of the seasons as part of her teaching. It suits anyone drawn to seasonal ceremony, earth-based and energetic practice, or a shared pause at the threshold of a new season in the Bay Area.

The ceremony belongs to a round of gatherings held in Berkeley through the year, which includes a Winter Begins Ceremony, an Autumn Equinox Ceremony and an annual silent Winter Solstice Ceremony. Summer Begins is the one that opens the warm half of the year.

About Bronwyn Ayla

Bronwyn Ayla is an alchemist, dancer, diviner, acupuncturist, temple tender and practitioner of sacred medical arts. Initiated in a variety of mystery schools, she draws on diverse traditions and aims to bring what is most essential to the people who listen to her on the path of energetic mastery.

Her work helps people connect to their embodied wisdom and to the nourishment of their destiny by aligning their prayer with their outer lives. She does this through direct transmission, initiations, rituals and attunement to seasonal cycles, which is the thread that runs through a ceremony like this one. People who work with her learn to hold everything they encounter as medicine on the path of transformation and awakening.

Bronwyn teaches regular online courses on healing and energetic mastery. In 1998 she founded the Wu Wei School of Reiki and the Holistic Medical Arts clinic in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Setting

The ceremony takes place in Berkeley, in the East Bay of Northern California. Bronwyn's other seasonal ceremonies are held in the same city, so people who have attended one will find the rhythm familiar.
