Descripción
Light Emerging: A Journey of Personal Healing is a healing retreat at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, centered on the human energy field. It is led by Joy Adler, a Dean at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, and draws on Barbara Ann Brennan's book Light Emerging: The Journey of Personal Healing. It suits both newcomers to energy healing and people who already work with it.
What to Expect
Joy Adler shares key points from Brennan's book and explains how it supports what a healer perceives visually, audibly, and kinesthetically, and how each person can take part in every stage of their own healing. The weekend combines lecture, meditation, and group and individual exercises. Together you will:
- Investigate the holographic message of conditions and illnesses
- Explore and balance the different energy levels and dimensions in which we exist
- Look at how negative beliefs affect health and wellness
- Learn about your levels of Intentionality and your Core Star, the authentic you
- Release energy blockages that have kept you from fulfilling your greatest creations
- Practice energy healing techniques
The techniques come from Dr. Brennan's books as they are taught at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. Her system of energy work combines hands-on healing with spiritual and psychological processes.
The retreat runs over a weekend. On the opening day, check-in begins at 2:00 pm, followed by a Kripalu Yoga class from 4:45 to 6:00, dinner, and a first program session from 7:30 to 9:00 in the evening. Full days begin with yoga from 6:30 to 7:45 am and a silent breakfast, then a program session from 9:00 to 11:30. After lunch, the afternoon session runs from 1:30 to 4:00, with another yoga class before dinner. On the closing day, yoga and silent breakfast are followed by a final session from 9:00 to 11:00, then lunch and departure. Times can shift, and the schedule given at check-in has the final details and room locations.

Joy Adler is a Dean at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. She teaches this program as an introduction to the ideas and practices in Barbara Ann Brennan's Light Emerging, offering guidance for people at any level of experience with energy work.
The Setting
Kripalu is a center for yoga and health in Stockbridge, in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. Accommodations are intentionally simple, meant to help you unplug. You can choose a private room for solitude or a shared dorm, from two beds to larger community-style rooms, for more connection. Rooms are ready by 4:00 pm, and a luggage room is available if you arrive earlier. Three daily meals are served, with vegetarian options, and breakfast is eaten in silence. On the last day, room check-out is at 10:00 am, and you may stay on campus and take part in workshops until 2:00 pm.
Before You Go
No prior training is required. Openness to subtle-body concepts is helpful. The program is taught in English, and the group is small enough to book as one or two guests at a time.
Your stay includes three meals a day, more than ten yoga classes daily, access to the Kripalu grounds, the program sessions with Joy Adler, and the group and individual healing exercises and meditation practices. Healing Arts sessions, items from the Kripalu Shop and Cafe, and private instruction are not included.
