Heart Coherence Retreat at Casa Damara

The Heart Coherence Retreat is a five-day healing retreat at Casa Damara in Pescadero, Baja California Sur, Mexico. It is for anyone who wants to explore heart coherence through the body, the senses and the natural world, rather than through thought alone. The retreat is guided by Demetra Penner and Natalia Szalc.

What to Expect

Over five days, the retreat weaves together movement, meditation, sound, ritual and creative expression. The invitation is to reconnect with your senses and with the living world around you, and the practices are tactile and varied.

You will work with clay and botanical dyes, making things with your hands. You will also gather around sound and experience the power of vibration, with whales and horses part of the retreat's contact with the natural world. Heart coherence is approached as something felt and practiced in the body, through listening, moving, making and sitting together in ritual.

About Demetra Penner

Demetra Penner is a sound healing artist and vocalist, and the founder of Soulstart Sound Sanctuary. She shares immersive, in-person sound healing experiences woven with crystal singing bowls, angelic vocal frequencies, vocal alchemy and healing soundscapes. At Casa Damara she has also offered community sound healing sessions that welcome children. Her sound work is a central thread of this retreat.

The Setting

Casa Damara is in Pescadero, on the Pacific side of Baja California Sur, in Mexico. It is a place founded by Leslie L. Bost, a Spiritual Director who lives between Mexico and France with her husband and four children. Casa Damara grew out of her family's life on a boat and their wish for a place that nurtures individual transformation alongside family connection, in all its forms.

That intention shapes the house: a retreat space where personal work and shared community are held together, in a small town known for its closeness to the land and sea.

The retreat is a good fit if you are drawn to sound, ritual and hands-on creative work as paths into the heart. Come ready to participate with your body as well as your attention, and to spend time outdoors with the natural world. Casa Damara also hosts other gatherings through the year, so you may meet people who return to the house for different kinds of retreats.
