Who is this retreat best suited for?

It suits people drawn to meditation, devotional music and inward-looking songwriting, and who want to experience Trevor Hall in a spiritual setting rather than at a standard concert. It is likely a poor fit if you want party-style reggae or a purely entertainment-driven event.

Do I need to know Trevor Hall's music before attending?

It isn't required, but it helps to listen first so his mix of folk, roots reggae and kirtan feels familiar. He recorded his first album at sixteen and has a long catalog to explore. Notice how the devotional and meditative themes come through in the songs.

Descripción

Find Your Center Retreat with Trevor Hall is a wellness retreat at Rancho Santana in Tola, Rivas, Nicaragua, led by the musician Trevor Hall. It suits anyone drawn to a retreat shaped by devotional music, whether you already know his songs or are coming to them for the first time.

About Trevor Hall

Trevor Hall recorded his first album at sixteen, growing up on the coast of South Carolina. He then moved to Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, where he studied classical guitar seriously and encountered the spiritual traditions of India. That meeting of formal musicianship and devotional practice runs through all of his work, and it sets him apart in the folk-reggae space, where spirituality often stays decorative.

His music sits at the intersection of roots reggae, folk and kirtan, with electronic textures woven in. The themes are interior: love, impermanence, connection, and the texture of a spiritual life actually being lived. The writing is personal enough to have built a loyal following, nearly 400,000 listeners on Spotify and sold-out tours among them.

The Setting

The retreat takes place at Rancho Santana, in the Tola area of Rivas on Nicaragua's Pacific side.

Preguntas Frecuentes

Expect a blend of roots reggae, folk and kirtan, with electronic textures woven in and classical guitar underneath. His themes are interior: love, impermanence, connection and the texture of a spiritual life. It is introspective devotional music rather than a high-energy reggae set.

Kirtan, the devotional music tradition of India, is one of the core strands of his sound alongside roots reggae and folk. He is described as a kirtan practitioner, so the devotional element is part of his own practice. Spirituality in his music is not just decoration.

Both came out of his time at Idyllwild Arts Academy in California. There he studied classical guitar seriously and first encountered India's spiritual traditions. That mix of formal musicianship and devotional practice runs through all his work and sets him apart from most folk-reggae artists.

It takes place at Rancho Santana in Tola, in the Rivas department of Nicaragua. The listing doesn't give details on lodging, transport or meals, so check with the organizer before booking travel.
